Justimon shouted as he impacted into the ground. He tried to get up only for TigerVespamon to land on him. The other Digimon with them were on their knees around them. DarkKnightmon hovered above them. "What a shame. You used up too much power on Crusadermon. Not that you had any hope of defeating me either way, but I was hoping for a bit more of a challenge."
Hudiemon growled as she pushed herself to her knees. She stood up and flew towards DarkKnightmon. "Erika, wait!" Ryuji shouted.
"Flying Kick!"
"Undead Soldier." DarkKnightmon summoned a Oboromon that appeared behind Hudiemon and wrapped its scarf around her halting her in front of DarkKnightmon.
Hudiemon struggled a bit before glaring at DarkKnightmon. "Infinity Dream!" Her eyes flashed blue in front of DarkKnightmon's face. But he laughed at how ineffective it was. "You're a monster...!"
"How bold. Especially for a human-Digimon hybrid." DarkKnightmon held his hand in front of her. A burst of red and black electricity destroyed the fake Digimon while electrocuting Hudiemon. She screamed before collapsing to the ground.
"Erika!" Keisuke, Ryuji and Chitose ran over to their friend.
"You freak!" TyrantKabuterimon charged at the knight. PileVolcamon leapt towards him with MetalSeadramon following.
Eggman's gaze narrowed on the Chaos Emerald as DarkKnightmon took it out. "Chaos Control!" Time froze. He held up his axe and swung at them unleashing a wave of darkness. When time resumed Keisuke's Digimon hit the ground. "With this power I will being ruin to all worlds as my King desired!"
"Now!" Eggman fired a red beam from a pistol he held that knocked the Emerald right out of DarkKightmon's hand.
"What?!"
When DarkKnightmon was about to reach for it the Eggmobile rammed into his arm. "Someone, grab it!" The doctor yelled. DarkKnightnon growled and knocked the vehicle to the ground.
"No!" Sage panicked and rushed to Eggman's side.
Ryuji dove and caught the Chaos Emerald. "Nice catch bro!" Chitose grinned. Ryuji stood up and looked at the Emerald. Something Sonic told him echoed in his mind.
"I'm gonna round up the Emeralds so we can clean up Crusadermon's mess."
Ryuji looked over to Eggman as he straightened out his pod with Sage next to him. "You!"
"Huh?" Eggman looked towards him.
"Get this Emerald to Sonic! Go!" Ryuji chucked the Chaos Emerald.
Eggman caught it. He looked towards Keisuke who was helping Hudiemon up. The hacker nodded. Eggman nodded back. The glass screen closed around Eggman's Eggmobile and the thrusters came out and he flew off. "You rat!" DarkKnightmon aimed his spear at the fleeing doctor.
"Oh no you don't!" Cherubimon, Gryphonmon, Vikemon, TigerVespamon, Justimon and even MarineAngemon all piled on him.
"Sage, go with him!" Keisuke shouted.
The girl looked at him. "But-
"You need to look after your family Sage. I'll protect mine." Sage was conflicted. But she nodded before teleporting away. DarkKnightmon threw all the other Digimon off him. "Just a little longer and the others will fix this." Keisuke said. "We gotta hold this guy off for just a bit longer!"
Sonic along with Takumi's friends and Digimon stepped out of a portal before it vanished. They hurried over to Mirei. She was on her laptop and Takumi was still on the ground. "Mirei, is it going to work this time?" Yuuko asked. "…Mirei?"
The woman smiled. "Installation complete." She closed her laptop.
Everyone stared at Takumi waiting for something. Anything. "Takumi... come on..." Arata cringed.
"It has to work this time." Rosemon Burst Mode said. "It HAS to!"
Takumi's eyes fluttered open. He slowly sat up. "Takumi!" Everyone hurried to his side.
Takumo smiled. "Hey guys." Everyone cheered as Nokia, Arata, Yuuko and Yuugo embraced him. Once the group hug ended Rapidmon Armor, Rosemon Burst Mode, and Craniamon started tossing him up and down.
"Welcome back dude." Sonic grinned as Takumi was put back in his feet.
"Sorry to keep you waiting." The Cyber Sleuth smiled. But that smile vanished when he looked up and saw the worlds melding in the sky. "Things are looking grim."
"That's an understatement." Mirei replied.
The group heard two loud thuds. They turned around and saw two unusual shaped Koco on the ground. "Huh?!" Nokia gasped.
"Hermit! Elder!" Sonic ran over to them. The others joined him. Sonic nudged Elder Koco but there was no response. "What just happened?!"
"They must have used up all their energy." Omnimon Alter-S replied.
Takumi looked at him. "Does that mean they...?"
"No..." Nokia whimpered.
The Koco started to glow. "Wait... what's happening?" Arata asked.
A light flew out of each one. They floated around the group. In a flash the spectral images of two elderly Ancients appeared in front of them. "What's that?" Yuugo asked.
"These are... the Ancients..." Yuuko breathed.
"The Koco really do hold their spirits..." Takumi muttered.
"Our time has long passed." the Ancient Elder said. "With our regrets at ease, we may now finally depart from this world and join our kin…"
"This is your world now." the Ancient Hermit said. "Cherish and care for it just as we have."
Sonic stared at them. "Elder… Hermit…"
"Thank you all for showing us how far this world has come." the Elder bowed.
"Please… honor one last request." Hermit put a hand over his chest. "Stop the creature we feared as The End once and for all. So that this world nor any other will suffer what we have."
Sonic nodded. "You got it. This is our world, and we will protect it."
Takumi nodded. "I won't let that thing pledge anyone else with loneliness or despair. We will end this."
"We leave everything to you then." Elder nodded.
"The future is in your hands." Hermit added as he and Elder started to glow. "Farewell heroes." They both became orbs of light that flew up. Everyone watched them disappear into a strange white symbol in the sky.
Sonic closed his eyes. "Hermit… Elder… thank you for everything."
Takumi clenched his fists. "We won't let you down… be at peace." He looked at his friends. "What's our situation?"
"The rifts in the sky Crusadermon made with the Chaos Emeralds in spreading." Mirei said. "Mastemon and Alphamon are doing what they can to slow it down, but it's only a matter of time before the worlds clash."
"And where is Crusadermon now?"
"Somewhere on this island." Yuuko replied. "Keisuke is looking for her."
"By himself?"
Nokia grinned. "Oh, he's not by himself. Alphamon wasn't the only one who came here from the Digital world. Hudiemon came for him just like how Alphamon and Kyoko came for you!"
Takumi gasped. "Hudiemon… you mean… Erika?"
Yuuko smiled. "That's right. Keisuke got to meet the person who mean everything to him again."
Takumi smiled. "Keisuke… I just wish this was under happier circumstances…"
"We all do."
"That's not all." Sonic said. "Sage brought over a number of people and their Digimon. Some of which I'm sure you're familiar with."
"What people?" Takumi asked.
"Aside from Yuugo here? There's Keisuke's buds, Ryuji, Chitose, and Yu, detectives Matayoshi and Data, and Fei."
"Really?"
"Sage even managed to give them back their memories of the previous reality." Sonic grinned. "And Arata and Ryuji finally buried the hatchet!"
Takumi smiled at Arata. "What did I tell you? All you had to do was try. I'm happy for you man."
Arata faintly smiled. "Thanks. Unfortunately, it's not all good news. Leopardmon's here too and running amok. I don't know what he and Crusadermon are scheming but we gotta find them and stop them."
"Except two rouge knights are only part of the problem." Sonic said. "That voice in the sky was the enemy that wiped out the Ancients home world. And us defeating the Titans and shutting down those towers was what it needed to escape Cyber Space."
"The one Hermit and Elder referred to as "The End"." Takumi said. "Where is it now?"
"It's still locked into the Titan that the Ancient's sealed it away in." Mirei said. "Before Mastemon went to join Alphamon in trying to keep our dimensions stable, I had her pull two Tamers here to stall it." Mirei looked at her laptop. "…But it doesn't look like they're fairing well against it." She showed everyone the screen. Veevee was dodging golden diamonds left and right and fired a laser from his chest before he had to back up further. Dianamon was knocked backwards then had to fly straight up to evade the Titan's claws.
Takumi recognized the Digimon and the Tamers riding on them. "Is that Sayo and Rina?!"
"Indeed. I knew both would be willing to help you and capable of holding their own… but it seems like they're starting to slow down." Mirei looked up. "That being said I say our biggest concern right now is stopping the spreading distortion of our worlds."
"Sage drew the Chaos Emeralds to this island to rip them from Crusadermon's grasp." Craniamon explained. "If we can recover them, Sonic can use the technique she used to create this distortion, to seal it back up."
Takumi turned to Sonic. "I'll help you. How many Emeralds do you have left to find?"
"One more…" Sonic looked ahead. "I gotta hurry up!"
"Sonic!" Everyone turned around as Sage appeared.
"Oh, hey Sage!" Nokia waved. "Check it out! We got Takumi back!"
"Good. Our chances of success have improved."
"So where have you been?" Rapidmon Armor asked. Before he could get an answer the Eggmobile flew in.
"Well, look who it is." Mirei said. "Any luck on your end? Because we're running out of time."
Sage turned to the piolet and gestured to Sonic. "I know!" Eggman opened the vehicle up and leapt out. "You're not fast enough so I found it for you." he said not looking at Sonic. Everyone stared at him. He took out the purple Chaos Emerald. "Go ahead and seal those rifts and beat that giant!" He tossed the final Emerald to Sonic. Everyone stared at the gem in the hedgehog's hand then they all looked at Eggman in surprise. "Don't you dare lose it!" Eggman said looking away again.
Takumi smiled. "Eggman…"
Yuugo whispered to his friends. "That "Emerald" looks more like a diamond then anything."
"We know." Arata, Nokia, and Yuuko replied.
Sonic smirked and tossed the Emerald up and caught it. "Now why would I want to disappoint you?"
"You heard the man Sonic, do your thing!" Rosemon Burst Mode grinned.
The hedgehog ascended with all seven Chaos Emeralds spinning around them. He absorbed them into his body and in a golden flash transformed into Super Sonic. "Amazing!" Yuugo breathed.
"This is Super Sonic?" Chaosdramon asked.
"So, this is the power of the Chaos Emeralds!" Omnimon Alter-S said in awe.
Super Sonic looked down at his friends. He smiled at Takumi. "First order of business: Relieving your boss of her rift-holding duty so you two can have your highly anticipated reunion." Takumi smiled as he watched Super Sonic fly straight up.
High in the sky Alphamon and Mastemon held their glowing hands apart grunting in exertion. "My power is just about spent…" Mastemon muttered.
Alphamon stared as the distortion slowly continued to grow. "Takumi and the others will get the Emeralds soon."
"How can you be so sure?"
"I know him."
Super Sonic zoomed up to them. "Pardon me ladies."
Mastemon looked at his glow. "This power…!"
"Oh, ho." Alphamon said in an amused tone.
Super Sonic held up his hand and looked at the rifts. "Chaos Control!"
Gryphonmon and Cherubimon crashed into the ground hard. "No!" Date ran up to her defeated Digimon. "Say something pal!"
Fei gritted her teeth looking at her knocked out TigerVespamon. "This is bad…"
DarkKnightmon flicked MarineAngemon aside. "Are we done here? I'm starting to grow tired of these games."
Keisuke growled. "Come on guys, what's taking you so long?!" Suddenly the sky glowed white. "Huh?"
DarkKnightmon turned around and looked up. "What's happening?!"
Hudiemon gasped. "This is…!"
In a bright flash the rifts vanished and all that could be seen by looking up was the stary night sky. "What just happened?!" Yu asked. "Where did that all go?!"
"The rifts!" MetalSeadramon gasped.
"They've been sealed!" Justimon said.
"What?!" DarkKnightmon growled.
"Sonic must have gathered the Chaos Emeralds!" Keisuke grinned pumping his fist. "Yes!"
"Now our worlds are safe and sound!" Vikemon added.
DarkKnightmon turned back to them. "Don't be so certain. This is a temporary setback. I will take the Chaos Emeralds back and use them to access all worlds! One by one I will reduce each reality to ash!"
"Not if we have anything to say about it!" Hudiemon said.
"You won't." DarkKnightmon pointed his spear at them. "Not for much longer." He flew towards them.
"He did it!" Rapidmon Armor said looking at the stars.
Super Sonic descended to the ground. Alphamon and Mastemon were close behind him. Mastemon dropped to her knees when she landed. "Are you alright?" Mirei asked.
"Yeah… just tapped out. Sorry guys, you're going to have to handle it from here."
"Get some rest. We'll need your power to deal with the aftermath."
Takumi walked towards Alphamon. "…Kyoko?"
"Hello Watson." The knight chucked. "It's been a while… yet not very long at the same time."
Takumi smiled. "It really is you the way I remember…" He could feel warm tears start to fall.
"What, was Kyoko Kuremi too boring for you?"
"Well… she didn't seem to share my taste in coffee."
Alphamon laughed and kneeled down to pat Takumi on the head. "Heh. Maybe she just needed time to warm up to it… like you."
"Pretty sure tampering someone's mental data to get them to like something doesn't mean they "warmed up" to it." Eggman muttered. Mirei noticed Nokia, Arata and Yuuko shooting a vicious glare her way and turned away with an uncomfortable expression.
"Don't forget guys, we DOhave to kill this witch once this is all over." Nokia scowled.
"I couldn't agree more." Yuuko glared.
"Dibs on her spine." Arata growled cracking his knuckles.
Eggman grinned at Mirei's gradually increasing panic on her face. She glared at him. "Thank you SO much for telling them about that you bald rat."
"Reap what you sow lady. You may have gotten away with what you did scott free in your world but around here, no crime goes unpunished."
Super Sonic smirked at the doctor. "Yeah, you would know."
Takumi held one of Alphamon's fingers in his hand. "Kyoko… thank you. I'm so glad I can see you again… both Kyoko and Alphamon… they're both part of the amazing person who gives me strength."
Alphamon chuckled. "Welcome back… my assistant… my companion… my friend. You too also give me strength. And both as Kyoko and Alphamon I am overjoyed to see you again."
Nokia was wiping away tears as everyone smiled. It was like a family reunion. "Heh. Seeing those two together again…" Arata smiled. "It makes it worth this nightmare."
"Again, I couldn't agree more." Yuuko nodded.
"I hate to break up the reunion, but our work isn't finished yet." Mirei said.
"Maybe not. But at least this makes one less thing to worry about." Rosemon Burst Mode said.
"And three more to go." Gaiomon Fierce Blade Mode replied. "Now that we don't have to worry about our worlds colliding, we need to do something about the Titan, Crusadermon, and Leopardmon."
"You mean the Titan and DarkKnightmon."
Everyone looked at Sage. "DarkKnightmon?" Omnimon Alter-S asked.
"What happened to the Royal Knights?" Nokia asked.
"Remember how Leopardmon went nuts after you defeated him in the last reality?" Eggman asked, spinning his finger at the side of his head.
"That's right." Takumi said. "He said that him losing to us meant that King Drasil wanted everything to be destroyed."
"Which is ridicules to say the least." Alphamon said shaking her head. "King Drasil was being corrupted by the Eaters. None of the knights were not truly acting on his orders."
Eggman shrugged. "Well, Leopardmon still seems to think that's what his king wants. To destroy all worlds including yours, mine and his. Needless to say, that's not what Crusadermon wanted, so after Leoparmdon stabbed his partner in crime in the back-both figuratively and VERY literally." Eggman said making a thrusting motion as if holding a sharp object. "-he stole Bagramon's powers and transformed into what he calls DarkKnightmon."
"Keisuke and the others are still fighting him." Sage said. "But DarkKnightmon is far stronger than any opponent they faced before. They… they insisted we brought the Chaos Emerald to you as quickly as we could… but I don't know how much longer they'll last."
Takumi turned to his friends. "We better go help them." Nokia, Arata, Yuuko and Yuugo nodded.
"So, business as usual?" Super Sonic grinned. "You take the knight, I'll take the Titan?"
"Sounds like a plan."
Alphamon turned to Super Sonic. "I'll go with you."
Takumi looked at her in surprise. "You're going to fight with us?"
"Why do you sound so surprised over me taking action? I'm honestly somewhat offended."
"Um… well… I mean…"
Sage stared at Alphamon. "I believe this is a consequence of what Hudiemon warned you about regarding the image and example you were providing your assistant by "setting him to do everything dangerous for you while you sit back and watch"."
Alphamon went dead silent. Super Sonic was the first to snicker. Then he, Eggman, Arata, Yuugo, Craniamon, and Rapidmon Armor started chuckling as Mirei, Yuuko, Nokia and Rosemon Burst Mode giggled. Then they all broke into laughter as Takumi glanced at them all with a confused expression. Eggman nearly fell over while pointing at Alphamon laughing before he composed himself long enough to take a deep breath. "Oh, you have no idea how proud you make me Sage. You really are a chip off the old block."
Super Sonic smirked at him. "See, why couldn't you have programed Metal to be this funny?"
Alphamon sighed and shook her head. "Cheeky for an A.I. who just learned about me, but I suppose you bring up a good point. Either way, this incident started with Bagramon. I can't ignore the crisis at hand. Not when I'm already involved." She turned to Takumi. "That being said, I more than anyone know how strong you and your friends have become. With or without Bagramon's data, I have no doubt you will defeat this DarkKnightmon. This entity inside the Titan on the other hand is an unknown factor in this. So, I'm going to help Sonic with stopping it." She looked uncomfortably at her assistant. "Takumi… the last time I saw you as Alphamon I claimed you did a lot of crazy things and proved a handful at times… but looking back, I have no one to blame but myself for you turning out that way. I made you do a number of difficult things especially for someone your age… some of which I probably could have done more to help you with… With that in mind I have not right to ask you this but…would you be willing to give me a hand once more?"
"Of course." Takumi nodded.
"Alright." Super Sonic grinned. "Teaming up with Takumi's boss sounds like fun. Just a heads up though, your Watson holding you in such high regard kinda raised the bar high."
Alphamon chuckled. "Then I best give this my all. I'd hate to disappoint either of you. Let's go. I imagine Sayo and Rina will likely need some help by now."
"Then we'll go help Keisuke and the others!" Nokia said.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Arata asked. "Let's get to work. Saddle up people!"
Everyone climbed onto their Digimon. "Hey… Kyo-Alphamon?" Takumi said from Rapidmon Armor's shoulder.
"Yes Takumi?"
"There's something I should tell you… when I had Bagramon's data in me… I saw images of his past… I think they were his memories…"
Alphamon gave him a serious expression. "How much did you see?"
"Enough to know what you had to do with what happened back then."
"I see…" Alphamon sighed. "I wouldn't blame you if you thought lesser of me for it. I made foolish choices that took many lives."
Takumi smiled at her. "Why? You're not Grademon anymore. Besides, you never judged me for my dark past. Why should I judge you for yours? You've done more than enough to make up for your mistakes. You don't need to prove yourself to anyone. Least of all me."
Alphamon looked at him with a tender gaze. "You really are something else. Thank you, Takumi."
"What's this about?" Yuuko asked.
"After this I'll tell you all." the knight replied. "About Bagramon. About me. And a past I never told anyone before. But for now…" She ascended from the ground. "We have a job to do."
"Then let's get started." Takumi replied. He and his Digimon flew off with his friends following. Super Sonic and Alphamon flew in another direction.
Eggman was rubbing his chin as he Mirei and Sage watched them go. When he noticed Sage staring at him, he looked away. Sage covered her smile with her hand. Mirei giggled before looking ahead. "Show us once more Takumi Aiba. The power you hold to reshape destiny."
PileVolcamon and MetalSeadramon screamed as they fell to the ground. Around them all other Digimon were on the ground except for TyrantKabuterimon who flew at DarkKnightmon roaring. DarkKnightmon dodged his claws and stabbed his spear into him. He then threw him into the ground. "No!" Keisuke shouted.
"Had enough?" DarkKnightmon asked. "If you are ready to accept your fate, I have Emeralds to find and worlds to destroy."
Hudiemon gritted her teeth from on her knees. "Never!" She shot up and fired blue sparks from her palm. They bounced off of DarkKnightmon who looked at her and shot red beams from his eyes. Keisuke dove and pushed Hudiemon to get her out of the way, but while he was on the ground the tree the attack struck toppled over and landed on his legs trapping him under it. "Keisuke!" DarkKnightmon stood in front of him. "Don't you touch him!" Hudiemon flew at him, but DarkKnightmon slapped her so hard she flew into the ground a good distance away hard.
"Erika!" Ryuji shouted.
Keisuke grunted and tried to pull his legs out, but he was pinned. "Be honored." DarkKnightmon said. "Your life will be the first of your kind this glorious new form extinguishes." He pointed his spear at Keisuke. "In the name of King Drasil's will and his absolute justice, you shall perish and soon your world will follow. Any last words?"
Keisuke didn't look at him. "Don't make me laugh."
"What?"
"Destroying all worlds for justice? In the name of King Drasil's will? What a joke. You're just making excuses. Before your final battle in my world, you declared that whoever one between you and Takumi and his friends would be the true carriers of King Drasil's will. But you couldn't accept that when you lost. So instead, you decided to delude yourself into thinking that King Drasil wanted to destroy everything without even confronting him yourself. Dynasmon… Craniamon… they genuinely felt going against humans was the right thing to do for their world. Even the knights from long ago absorbed Bagramon's data and sealed themselves away because they felt it was the right thing to do." Keisuke glared at DarkKnightmon. "But Crusadermon didn't care about what was right. She just wanted to exterminate us out of childish spite. And then there's you. A coward who would rather erase everything than admit he was wrong. You two are the only Fallen Royal Knights here."
Yu looked at him. "Keisuke…"
DarkKnightmon paused for a brief moment before replying. "I hope you enjoyed those words boy. For they will be the last things to come out of your wretched mouth!" He reeled back his spear.
"KEISUKE!" Everyone shouted.
The teen shut his eyes as he saw the spear come towards him. He waited for the end. But he felt nothing. He did hear DarkKnightmon grunt. He opened his eyes and saw the spear halted right in front of him. He then noticed a whip coiled around the other end of the spear. "Huh?"
Rosemon Burst Mode was behind DarkKnightmon holding his weapon back with her whip. Then Craniamon landed to his left and charged bashing his shield into him. DarkKnightmon flew a good distance. He glared at the two then heard something and looked up. Two missiles flew into him. Rapidmon Armor landed between his brother and sister. "More Digimon?" Matayoshi asked. "Did Sage find more help?"
"Wait…" Fei remembered what she saw in Takumi's memories. "Ain't that…?"
"Leave my friends alone dirtbag."
DarkKnightmon gasped at the voice. "Impossible!"
Everyone looked at Rapidmon Armor's shoulder. Takumi was standing there glaring at the knight. Yu gasped. A shocked look came to Keisuke's eyes. An exited smile started to form. "Takumi!"
Omnimon Alter-S, and Chaosdramon landed nearby with Nokia and Yuugo. Gaiomon Fierce Blade Mode and Armageddemon caught up with Yuuko and Arata. "This ends now Leopardmon." Omnimon said.
"How can this be?!" DarkKnightmon yelled. "Your mental data was destroyed!"
"No. Just scattered." Takumi replied. "My consciousness was spread throughout Cyber Space. And even when it was recollected… I almost gave up on myself." He smiled at his friends. "Good thing I had people who would never give up on me." He closed his eyes. "And I can't give up here. Not while I can still make this right."
"Heh… well said brother." Rosemon Burst Mode smiled.
Rapidmon flew over to the tree Keisuke was under and Takumi jumped down. His friends joined him. Takumi, Arata, Yuugo and Yuuko grunted as they lifted the fallen tree up just enough for Nokia to pull Keisuke out. Once they dropped it, Takumi helped Nokia sit Keisuke against it. "Are you alright?"
Keisuke chuckled. "I knew it… I knew you'd come back!"
"Sorry to keep you waiting." Takumi smiled and looked around. "All of you."
"Well look who finally decided to join us." Yu grinned.
"And the big shot himself returns." Chitose laughed.
Matayoshi laughed. "That's Kyo-kyo's star pupil."
"So, this is the Cyber Sleuth…" Ryuji said sizing the boy up. "I heard a lot of rumors regarding him in the last reality."
"Heh. Good to have ya back kid." Fei smirked.
"Just so we're clear, you and I are even after this." Date said.
"The five chosen ones have reassembled." Hudiemon smiled.
Takumi smiled then turned to Keisuke. "I owe you and apology too Keisuke… for everything. You were only trying to help me, and I pushed you away."
Keisuke frowned. "I'm sorry too… I should have told you everything sooner, but I was afraid. I… I didn't want things to go this way."
Takumi put a hand on Keisuke's shoulder. "I know. You only wanted to help your friends. …Just like me. You and the others rest now. You've done your part. I promise to make this right."
Keisuke smiled and nodded. "Alright. It's your turn… hero."
Takumi nodded and stood up. He walked over to his Digimon. "Don't take him lightly." Hudiemon said. "DarkKnightmon is a far cry from Leopardmon."
"Then it's a good thing he won't be fighting alone!" Nokia said running up to Takumi's side.
"Yeah, you go Nokia!" Date cheered. "It's like I told you! Some jerk bullies you, you don't take it and cry! You make THEM cry!"
Arata joined them. "I'm in this until the end too."
"That's right Sanada." Ryuji smiled. "I know you'll do the right thing."
Yuuko approached as well. "I'm by your side as well."
"Be careful Yuuko." Fei murmured.
Yuugo walked up to them. "This time I can fight too."
"Of course, you can." Yu said. "Anyone can stand up for what they believe in if they believe in themselves."
Takumi glared. "Leopardmon, DarkKnightmon, whoever or whatever you are. I won't let you destroy this world or any other. I-We will end this now!"
DarkKnightmon scoffed. "Always so certain of yourself. You seem to underestimate the power I wield. Unlike those pitiful Fallen Knights, you slew I do not resist Bagramon's power… I accept the voice in my head ordering me to destroy. I embrace this impulse. You and your friends may have achieved power beyond Mega Level Digimon and all the Royal Knights, but I wield a power that stood above all on its own. You are powerless against me."
"Funny." Arata scoffed. "I bet that's what you though when we clobbered you in the last reality."
"You may have Bagramon's power." Yuugo said. "But what we have is something far stronger."
"We stand beside people we share close ties to." Yuuko replied. "People we call friends and allies… even family."
"And together we fight for something we believe in." Nokia said. "A dream we all share. You stand alone."
Takumi took a deep breath. "And together we're going to make that dream a reality. A world that humans and Digimon can share." Takumi pointed at his enemy. "DarkKnightmon! I won't let you destroy the future we have so much planned for! We will live! Together! And we won't let you be the end of our story!"
DarkKnightmon laughed. "Is that so? Come then. Show me what your "friends" your "dream" and you "story" are worth. I DarkKnightmon will be the one to extinguish your light!"
"Ugh, how can this melena hunk of junk be so darn tough?!" Rina groaned.
"I don't believe this... It's power even surpasses Choronomon…" Saya gulped. The Titan's orbiting turrets fired giant golden diamonds. VeeVee and Dianamon did their best to avoid all of them, but Dianamon was struck by one knocking her into VeeVee. The Titan opened its mouth, and a storm of golden lights flew into both Digimon. Their Tamers fell off as their Digimon fell, but the red mask on the Titan flashed and red bands held Rina and Sayo by their wrists and ankles suspending them in the air as their Digimon collapsed into the dirt under them. "Hey!" Sayo shouted.
The two grunted and struggled but they were trapped in the air unable to move. "Well, that's just cheating!" Rina grumbled.
VeeVee weakly tried to pull himself back up. "R-Rina…!" He collapsed.
The Titan reeled back a hand holding out its claws. "This is SERIOUSLY gonna hurt." Rina gulped.
"Sayo!" Dianamon pushed herself to her knees but lacked the strength to stand.
"No… not like this!" Sayo shut her eyes as the Titan's claws drew near. Then something gold flew in and knocked the Titan's hand away. As it was staggering Super Sonic curled into a ball and grinded against its face and flew into the air. He projected multiple copies of himself that joined him and slammed down on the Titan pounding it to the ground. "Huh?!"
Rina and Sayo's shackles vanished, and they screamed as they fell but unexpectedly, they landed in Alphamon's hands. "Nice catch Alphamon." Super Sonic grinned.
"Nice intercept."
Sayo looked up. "This is… Alphamon?"
"Oh right. Mirei said this was Takumi's boss turned Digimon." Rina said. "…Never thought I'd say that out loud."
"Well, I'd say we timed that perfectly." the knight said.
Sayo groaned as she sat up. "A little bit sooner would have been just fine as well…"
"Sorry." Alphamon said as she descended to the ground with a girl in each hand. "I was having an emotional reunion with Takumi."
Sayo looked at her. "Takumi? Is he okay now?"
"Indeed." Alphamon put them down. "His friends were able to find and reinstall his mental data."
Super Sonic flew down to them. "Thanks to you two keeping this thing occupied for us."
Sayo looked at him. "Who…?"
"Wow! Never seen a Digimon like that before!" Rina said in excitement.
"That's no Digimon." Dianamon said.
"Sayo…" VeeVee sighed. "Mirei told us this remember? One of the inhabitants of this world has been fighting with Takumi to help protect it?"
"Oh, right, right, right. What was it again? Tonic the Warthog or something?"
Sayo, VeeVee, Dianamon and Super Sonic all groaned. "It's SONIC the HEDGHOG thank you very much." Super Sonic replied.
"Right, that's what I meant."
"More importantly, where is Takumi right now?" Sayo asked.
"Dealing with my out-of-control subordinate." Alphamon replied. She looked behind her as the Titan started to rise back up. "In the meantime…"
Super Sonic turned around. "You girls did your part. We'll take it from here."
"Oh, come on, you can't just steal the show!" Rina complained.
"Sorry Rina…" VeeVee sighed. "But I'm going to need a minute…"
"Same here." Dianamon said.
"You have all done more then we could ask." Alphamon said. "But this is our fight now. And our responsibility. I have become over reliant on the abilities of the young. It's my turn to step up."
"Exactly." Super Sonic smiled. "You've done a great job. So, we'll honor your hard work for Takumi by finishing what we started."
Sayo sighed. "It pains my pride to rely on a stranger… but I learned the hard way that sometimes you have to trust others whether you want to or not. Takumi taught me that… alright. I'll believe in you."
"Fine, but if you guys are fighting on our behalf, then don't lose or we're all gonna look bad!" Rina said.
Super Sonic grinned. "You got it." He floated into the air with Alphamon. "You ready for this?"
"Let us begin." Alphamon declared.
The final Titan, Supreme growled at them as its orbiting turrets reappeared. It stomped forward. Super Sonic flew towards it, but more orbiting bits circled around Supreme. He tried to fly around them, but they stayed in front of him. "Gonna have to get rid of these things first." He unleashed a combo attack on one until it was destroyed but wasn't prepared for the Supreme to knock him away with its claws. The Titan opened its mouth, and seven golden projectiles flew at Super Sonic. But at the last second Alphamon flew in and swung her arm deflecting the attacks into the seven bits around Supreme destroying them all in one go. "Nice!" Super Sonic flew in and attacked. He then used a Spinning Slash followed by a Cyclone Kick. Then he stomped on top of it. Supreme roared and blew Super Sonic away with a swipe.
Alphamon flew in and punched it in the head making it stumble back. "Such power…" Dianamon gasped.
"Well, she is Takumi's superior." Sayo said. "I was expecting at least this much."
Super Sonic spun around Supreme then hit it with Loop Kick. The Titan whirled around to attack, but he evaded. As it shot more beams from its mouth Super Sonic evaded them with Wild Rush then charged into it. "Wow, look at him go!" Rina said.
"It pains me to admit it, but I think that speed might be beyond even my own." VeeVee said.
More bits appeared. Alphamon's hand glowed green. "Devine Sword Grade Alpha." A green blade appeared in her hand. "Sonic, I'll make and opening. Can't promise it will be a big one, so I hope you're fast enough to take advantage of it."
Super Sonic grinned. "Who do you think you're talking too?"
The bits fired gold diamonds. Alphamon started slashing through them with her sword. Once she had a clear shot, she held her other hand forward and green pellets of light flew into one of the bits destroying it. She charged towards Supreme, but her blade was blocked by the two large turrets before she was blown away by a giant red laser. Super Sonic flew in and attacked with a Phantom Rush then used a Sonic Boom. Supreme attacked him again but he countered it before striking with a Homing Shot. While the Titan staggered Alphamon flew in and thrusted her sword in its face making it howl. The two backed away. "Not bad."
"Same to you." Super Sonic grinned. "Let's keep this up. Knowing Takumi and the others they'll clean DarkKnightmon's clock in no time."
DarkKnightmon held his spear in both hands. Omnimon Alter-S flew in with Nokia on his shoulder. "Supreme Sword!" they shouted swinging the blade on the Garurumon head at the knight. He blocked it with his spear, and they clashed, steel ramming against steel loudly. Omnimon Alter-S jumped back as he and Nokia held their left hands forward and fired a golden blast.
"Hmph!" DarkKnightmon spun his Twin Spear blocking the attack with it.
Yuugo and Chaosdramon took aim. "Destroyed Hook!" They fired a claw at DarkKnightmon but the knight deflected it with his shield.
He then noticed Craniamon appear behind him and flew up to evade his sword. "Pitiful. That was your best attempt at an ambush."
"No, this is." DarkKnightmon gasped and looked up as Rosemon Burst Mode swung her whips into him from above knocking him back down.
"Yes!" Yu cheered. "That actually hurt him!"
As DarkKnightmon got up Gaiomon Fierce Blade mode ran at him. "Kikurin Thunder Slash!" He and Yuuko knocked the Twin Spear out of DarkKnightmon's hand. DarkKnigmon growled and grabbed Gaiomon by the face and slammed his head into the ground. He looked up to see Rosemon's whips and caught them before swinging her into Omnimon Alter-S.
Arata held his hand up. "Full-Scale Attack!" Armageddemon shot a black projectile up that rained black light down. DarkKnightmon held his shield up blocking the attack. "He's open! Get him Takumi!"
Takumi grinned holding his hands out in front of him from on Rapidmon Armor's shoulder. "Rapid Fire!" They shot twin missiles into DarkKnightmon making him stumble back.
The knight growled before charging at them. "Multi-Dimensional Axe!" The sharp shield on his arm extended as he swiped at Rapidmon Armor knocking him into Armageddemon, knocking them both over. The moment Rapidmon was hit Takumi fell off of him and DarkKnightmon's axe went for him.
"Power of Breath!" Craniamon came in and blocked the axe with his shield while catching Takumi. DarkKnightmon summoned his Twin Spear to his hand and slashed at him making him topple over.
"Takumi!" Just as the dark knight went for a stab, Chaosdramon and Yuugo shouted as they rammed into him from the left dragging him away. DarkKnightmon grabbed Chaosdramon, lifted him up and slammed him to the ground. He then picked up the machine Digimon and lifted him over his head.
"Kiss of Breath!" Rosemon Burst Mode struck him from behind making him drop Chaosdramon. Arata roared as he shoved his hands forward. Armageddemon's front legs thrusted punching DarkKnightmon in the chest knocking him back. Craniamon and Takumi swung Claíomh Solais at him knocking him back further.
DarkKnightmon growled and held his Twin Spear overhead. Gaiomon Fierce Blade Mode stepped in front of the others. "Takumi, give me a hand!" Yuuko said.
"You got it." the boy nodded. "The rest of you get behind us!"
As the others backed up DarkKnigthmon started spinning his weapon making a black tornado. "Treason Vortex!"
Yuuko and Takumi both held their hands up. "Binding Whirlwind!"
"Shock Ringer!" Craniamon and Gaiomon spun their swords unleashing a hurricane that clashed with DarkKnightmon's. After a moment their combined storm overwhelmed DarkKnightmon's and he was swept away.
Yuuko turned to Chaosdramon. "Brother!"
Yuugo grinned. "Got it!" He and Chaosdramon flew behind Yuuko as she and Gaiomon Fierce Blade Mode knocked DarkKnightmon's shield arm aside. "Chaos Crusher!" Chaosdramon slashed his nails into DarkKnightmon knocking him back.
"Their synergy is amazing." Matayoshi said.
"Those guys share a powerful bond that goes back eight years ago." Hudiemon explained. "A bond they share with Digimon."
DarkKnightmon roared and slammed his Twin Spear into the ground. "Undead Soldiers!"
A ring of black circled the ground around the team and an army of undead Digimon rose up around them. The five teens looked over their shoulders and nodded to each other. The enemies charged at them. Rapidmon shot two SkullMamothmon. Armageddemon fired a green laser at a RareRaremon. Rosemon Burst Mode spun and gave a SkullGreymon a roundhouse kick knocking him into an Oboromon. She was then tied up in the bandages of three Mummymon, but Gaiomon Fierce Blade Mode slashed them to ribbons freeing her. A MadeLeomon pounced at them, but Gaiomon dropped onto his back and kicked it into the air. Craniamon rose up and cut it in half. Omnimon Alter-S cut through a SkullSatamon then whirled around and shot a Myotismon. Chaosdramon tanked the shoots of four Troopmon before stomping on them. A large horde of Breakdramon came at the group and all the Digimon charged through them. Each Breakdramon exploded behind them. "No way…" Date gapped.
Fei smirked. "Frankly, I'm not surprised."
With the undead army delt with they set their sights on DarkKnightmon. Arata smirked. "Yuugo, Takumi, ready to show him what we got?"
Takumi leapt onto Rapidmon's shoulder who was rushing alongside Chaosdramon and Armageddemon. "Let's get him boys!"
Yuugo laughed. "Right behind you!" Chaosdramon's cannons aimed forward. "Hyper Cannon!" They fired twin golden beams.
Arata held his hand out. "Destiny Destroyer!" Armageddemon shot a giant orange fireball.
Takumi held his hands out to his left and right. "Miracle Missile!" Rapidmon Armor shot a golden triangle from his body. DarkKnightmon held up his shield as the three attacks came at him and yelled as they exploded. When the dust settled, he was on his knees. His axe shield shattered.
"Now it's our turn!" Yuuko said from Gaiomon Fierce Blade Mode as he ran past the boys and their Digimon.
As Craniamom passed by Rapidmon Armor, Takumi leapt onto his shoulder. "Right!" The knight and the samurai ran circles around DarkKnightmon each slashing him repeatedly as they passed by each other. After they each got five hits Takumi held his clenched hands up as Craniamon stood in front of DarkKnightmon who rose his spear. Takumi swung downward and Craniamon sliced the Twin Spear in half.
Craniamon leapt aside and behind where he stood Yuuko and Gaiomon Fierce Blade Mode held their blade with pink petals scattering around them and their eyes closed. The moment they opened, they struck. "Splendid Blade of Tranquility!" They struck so fast it didn't look like they even moved. DarkKnightmon dropped onto his hands and knees.
Takumi leapt onto Rosemon Burst Mode as she flew by, and they rose up next to Omnimon Alter-S who had his cannon out as Nokia aimed her left palm at DarkKnightmon. "Ready to rock Golden Maniac?" she grinned.
Takumi smirked as he and Rosemon held their hands close together near their chests. "Whatever you say wild one."
Chitose blinked. "Wait, Takumi's the Golden Maniac guy I heard about? No wonder the Rebels toughened up so fast."
"Transcendent Cannon!" Nokia shouted with her Digimon.
"Jewel of Heart!" Takumi and Rosemon thrusted their hands forward. The pink gems swirled around the cannon blast, and they glowed white before crashing down on DarkKnightmon. He screamed as he fell onto the ground.
"I don't believe what I'm seeing..." Ryuji gasped.
Keisuke smiled. "This is the power of true heroes. The five chosen ones who saved our world... Amazing."
The Digimon gathered up with their partners. "Heh. Not too shabby guys." Arata grinned.
"Not too shabby"?" Nokia asked. "Try awesome!"
"With all of you at my side I know we can accomplish anything." Yuuko smiled.
"It's not over yet." Yuugo said. "Let's push forward and win this."
"Right." Takumi nodded. "I'm with you guys. Now and forever."
DarkKnightmon growled as he leaned up to glare at them. "Curse you meddlesome humans...!"
"Is that all?"
DarkKnightmon gasped as a voice echoed in his head. "W-who...?"
"Let me show you the true extent of my power... The power to destroy everything!"
DarkKnightmon grunted in discomfort. "What?" Red and black electricity cackled around him. "Gaaaaaah!" Black energy engulfed him.
"Now what's going on?" Arata grunted as he and his friends shielded their eyes.
Supreme let out a roar that pushed Super Sonic and Alphamon slightly back. It's two orbiting turrets each fired at one of them knocking them further away. As Super Sonic and Alphamon flew back towards it, the Titan took its rifle out from behind it's back and aimed at them. "Heads up!" As a giant golden flash was fired towards them Super Sonic spun to the side and Alphamon dove downwards avoiding it before they rushed in and closed the gap. Super Sonic kicked Supreme in the face as Alphamon slashed it repeatedly. Supreme slapped both of them away from it.
Super Sonic and Alphamon flew around more golden diamonds. The knight thew her sword into one of the bits and it bounced into the air after destroying it. Super Sonic flew up and kicked the blade into the Titan's head. "They're doing some serious damage." VeeVee said. "They might actually win this!"
Sayo looked at him. "Don't start singing victory yet. I get the feeling that monster hasn't gone all out yet."
Supreme roared into the sky as red pillars rose from its shoulders. They emitted red lights that glowed around it like wings. Its feet slowly left the ground as it ascended with a bright red glow. "Wow…" Super Sonic breathed. "…That's different."
Rina squinted at Sayo. "You just had to jinx it, didn't you ya pessimist." Supreme roared even louder pushing its opponents back a bit. More bits appeared and fired more rapidly.
Yup. Supreme and DarkKnightmon are a two-parter fight. And it's about to kick into overdrive next chapter. Time for the spirits to shout the secrets in their melodies.
