Chapter 9

A/n: There is more to Spock than Nyota realizes.

The dinner guests were all seated. Spock introduced the guests to his father. Sarek looked around. His assistant was seated with the commandant. Janice was seated between him and Spock. It was an awkward situation. Only Janice seemed oblivious to the mistake in the seating arrangement.

Then the waitstaff arrived with the meals. Spock and Sarek ordered vegetarian meals. Janice ordered a juicy Kobe steak. Charlene grimaced as Spock and Sarek leaned back in their seats to avoid the scent of cooked flesh.

Charlene looked at Nyota's plate. Then she cleared her throat.

"Lt. Spock, Sulu and I will switch seats with you if you desire," Charlene said.

Janice glared at Charlene.

"Perhaps it would be simpler for Ensign Uhura to switch with Janice," Sulu quipped.

Nyota looked at her plate and realized the issue.

"I don't want to impose," Nyota said.

"If would be no imposition," Spock said. He stood up and looked down at Janice. The vice commandant walked over and said, "Is everything okay here?"

"Yes, sir," Spock replied.

Janice quickly moved to Uhura's seat. Nyota moved to Janice's seat. The waiter switched the plates. Charlene was also sitting next to Spock but was eating cod, which was far less offensive to the Vulcan senses.

The rest of the dinner went smoothly. Nyota regretted not knowing more about the ambassador, but her research on Vulcan culture and the history of the two planets was enough to keep the conversation flowing.

After dinner, Spock and Nyota walked Sarek over to join his entourage. Charlene noted that Sarek was checking out Nyota's figure like most of the men in the room. The Edosian did a great job. The dress was not too tight, but it accentuated Nyota's hourglass figure. Sulu noted that the dress was a little lower cut than other dress uniforms that the officers wore. The dress also enhanced Nyota's bust like a push-up bra.

Sulu sighed as Nyota and Spock returned to the table. It didn't take Sulu long to realize that Spock had his sights set on the ensign. He was very subtle and professional, but Spock was pulling strings at every step of the way. Sulu hoped that Spock was serious this time. He didn't want Nyota to be hurt.

Spock and Janice had been involved when she was at the academy. Sulu didn't know what happened, but Janice left the academy. Despite the fact that Spock was no longer interested, Janice was completely sprung on Spock. It was embarrassing, but Spock refused to acknowledge her flirtatious gestures.

Nyota and Charlene were in the hover-car. Before Sulu got in, he stopped to speak with Spock.

"Are you serious about Uhura?" Sulu asked.

Spock turned and faced Sulu.

"Why do you inquire?" Spock asked.

"She is not like these other females looking for a hook-up, that's all," Sulu said. "She is special."

"Yes, she is," Spock smirked. "I suspect she is a virgin."

"Great, another conquest for Spock, the vulnerable alien. You've got them all fooled with that routine. Poor Janice is still not over you." Sulu said. He sighed and got in the hover car.

Spock got in the hover car and looked at Nyota. Then he glared at Charlene.

"Are you okay, Mr. Spock?" she asked.

"I will be fine," Spock replied, looking despondent.

Nyota looked over her shoulder at Sulu. He rolled his eyes and looked out the window. Spock was a master at getting what he wanted. He was a hero for sure, but he used that defenseless alien routine a few times when they were cadets. It worked every time. Spock was discrete about it, which was why only Sulu knew about it. They had been roommates and close at one time. Spock pulled up in front of Sulu's hall. Spock got out and walked to the door with Sulu.

"I won't hurt her much," Spock said with a smirk. He patted his lok.

Spock walked back to the hover car. Sulu stared at the Vulcan. Sulu wanted to believe him. Spock was older, and he seemed more mature. Sulu hadn't seen Spock out at clubs like he did before he served on the Farragut. Maybe he would treat this one differently. However, Spock had Sarek as a role model, and he was the biggest player in the Alpha Quadrant.

Sulu surely would have taken Nyota seriously. Sure, Nyota was hot, but something about her was different. He waved at the group in the hover-car as they drove off.

Spock was quiet as they drove back to Providence Hall. They entered the building, and Charlene watched Spock and Nyota take the elevator upstairs. Spock was stealth-like in getting what he wanted, and Charlene did not want Nyota to end up like Janice.

Charlene was back in her apartment, ruminating over the events of the evening. Instead of spending the evening with Boma, she was doing Spock's bidding. He had been making a hard press for Nyota. Charlene surmised that he wanted to get next to the ensign before she started classes and met other officers.

Her communicator buzzed. Charlene looked at the communicator. It was Sulu. She rolled her eyes and answered.

"Hey, is Nyota with you?" he asked.

Charlene sighed. "No, they went upstairs."

"Why do you let him use you like that? If It hadn't been for you, Nyota would be safe with the other ensigns instead of that den of iniquity." Sulu said.

Charlene swallowed hard. Sulu was right. Warwick Hall was rowdy but safer. A few female officers had been assaulted in Providence Hall. It was full of golden boys who had been promoted quickly, like Spock. The top floor was where they all lived. Spock The administration usually forced the injured female officers out of Starfleet to avoid scandals. Sulu often wondered if this had happened to Janice as well. Not long after she bilged out, her father was promoted to commandant.

"Spock got to you, didn't he?" Sulu finally worked up the nerve to ask.

Not long after Spock saved Charles Masters, Charlene moved into Providence Hall. Then Charles Masters was promoted to vice-admiral.

"I can't talk about it," Chalene said. She had signed a non-disclosure agreement, and they allowed her to stay in Starfleet.

"Well, I hope that Spock wasn't lying when he said he wouldn't hurt her. Otherwise, you have to live with this on your conscience." Sulu said, and he disconnected. Charlene felt guilty. She liked Nyota and truly felt they could be friends. She had lied about Spock being a brother. She fell for him, too, but he nearly tore her in half the first and last time they did it. She was in a hospital for two weeks. Sarek pulled some strings, and her father was promoted.

Except for the ears, Spock looked normal from the waist up. From the waist down, he was totally alien. Like his father, he had a penchant for human flesh. Charlene shivered and made herself a cup of tea. Then she tried to get some sleep.

Spock and Nyota walked along the sky bridge. Then they got to her door.

"Would you like a nightcap?" he asked her.

"A what?" she replied.

"A beverage to end the evening." He said.

"Okay, Nyota said.

Spock opened his door. He took her into the living area. Nyota stood and marveled at the artifacts from throughout the quadrant. He followed her around the room, taking in the curve of her arse and describing his exploits around the galaxy.

"Excuse me," Spock said.

He went in the back and returned wearing meditation pants and a black robe. Black curly hair poked out of the robe.

"Are you planning to meditate?" Nyota asked.

"I will eventually," Spock said as he poured the Kaasa juice, which was potent for humans.

"This is made from the Kaasa fruit," Spock said.

Nyota noted its blue-green color. She took a sip, and her head spun.

"I better sit down. I feel dizzy," She said.

Spock walked over and took the glass. He put it on the counter, and he pushed Nyota against the wall. He slipped his arms around her waist.

"I desire thee," he moaned as he leaned down and pressed his lips against hers. Spock's hands found their way to her thaseks and he massaged them. Nyota struggled to breathe. Spock stopped and inhaled the scent of the dampness in her panties. It only served to inflame his senses. He pressed his lips harder this time, sticking his hot, fuzzy tongue inside her mouth. It was as if he sucked the breath out of her with his kiss, and she felt lightheaded.

Suddenly M'Umbha's voice was in her head. She had warned Nyota about lotharios in the United States. It was one of the reasons they wanted to marry off Nyota before she was ruined. Nyota managed to gasp air when Spock shifted positions. It was enough to clear her head.

Nyota pulled back and slapped Spock's cheek.

"You have the wrong idea, mister!" she shouted. "I am not for sale." Then, she grabbed her clutch and stumbled across the hall.

Stunned, Spock stood there staring at Nyota as she slammed the door.

Minutes later, Nyota opened the door wearing sweatpants. She strolled over and banged on his door. Spock opened the door, and she handed Spock a bag containing her dress uniform and a folded note. Spock's face was bright green where she smacked him.

"I apologize for hitting you, Mr. Spock, but you crossed the line." She said.

Nyota turned and went back to her apartment and started packing. She was sure she would be allowed to stay in Starfleet, but she doubted if Spock would allow her to work on the research project.

Spock opened the note; it read,

"I owe you eighty-seven credits for the salad, shoes and purse I purchased. The rest of the credits are still on the chip."

Spock held up the dress. It smelled like Nyota's scent, which had shifted when she became angry. It had caused his blood to heat up mote. He took the silver chips and opened the kitchen drawer. He tosed them in the drawer. There were at least three dozen chips of various colors, silver, gold and black. Spock realized that he, for the first time in his life, had miscalculated as far as Nyota was concerned. Sulu had warned him. Nyota was no ordinary female. Spock was only correct in his estimation that she was a virgin. However, Nyota had more to lose and she wasn't giving it up for two silver coins and a dress uniform.

The next morning, there was a knock on the door. It was Charlene. Nyota opened the door and stepped back. Nyota was wearing cheeky shorts and a cropped tank top. The bottoms of her breasts were exposed when she leaned forward. As Nyota walked across the room, her breasts bounced. Charlene shook her head. No wonder the guys were going crazy for her.

"Are you okay?" Charlene asked.

Nyota turned and glared at Charlene.

"How could you? I thought we were becoming friends." Nyota said.

Charlene had no answers. She always did whatever Spock wanted. First, it was because they became friends when he saved her father. Then he moved her into this very unit and took her while helping her move her boxes into the unit. Weeks later, she moved to the first floor. It was safer there.

"Did you sleep with him?" Charlene asked.

"No I didn't. Did you?" Nyota said.

"It could hardly be called sleeping." Charlene began to cry.

Nyota made some tea, and they sat down. Charlene sipped the tea and calmed down.

"Make no mistake. Spock's mother may be human, but he is not." Charlene said. Her lips quivered.

"I don't know how she survived being married to a Vulcan. They are so rough." Charlene whispered.

Nyota had no frame of reference. She was a virgin.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"Well, for starters, his member is very large! Much longer than a human." Charlene said.

Nyota remembered that Spock said his uniforms were tailored for his extraordinary proportions.

"I couldn't walk for two weeks," Charlene admitted.

Nyota grinned. "Really?"

Nyota found Charlene's account of Spock's encounter exciting for some reason. She felt her panties getting damp again.

Across the hall, Spock was on his computer sending a message to Captain Pike. He was afraid that Nyota was going to file a grievance. He had to do something; she could not be bought. Sarek had suggested that Spock have her decommissioned, but he was quite fond of the female.

Suddenly, Spock sniffed. It was a familiar scent like the one on the uniform he used to stroke his lok the night before. He destroyed the uniform and recycled the drenched remnants this morning when he awoke. Spock walked across the hall. He could hear Nyota and Chalene talking. Spock sniffed again. Nyota was aroused.

Spock's looked down the hall. He was alone. He reached down and touched his lok. It had never been so hard. Spock went back to his room. He deleted the message to Pike. Instead, he wrote a note but did not sign it. It read,

"Pardon my indiscretion. I humbly apologize. We will meet on Monday morning at 0800 at the lab."

Nyota saw the shadow under the door. She walked over and picked up the note. Then she showed it to Charlene.

"What happened last night?" Charlene asked. She couldn't believe that Nyota didn't sleep with Spock. That juice he gave her made her very drowsy.

"He gave me some juice."

"Me too," Charlene said.

"I got dizzy," Nyota said.

"Yes, and then?" Charlene asked.

"He made a pass, and I clocked him!" Nyota said with a grin.

Charlene's mouth was wide open.

"It is about time someone set him straight," Charlene said. "Are you still leaving?"

"No, I have wanted this job for a long time. I am not letting any man or Vulcan take it from me. " Nyota said.

"Are you mad at him?" Charlene asked.

"Actually, I kind of like him, but he can't just take it. He has to earn it." Nyota said.

M'Umbha's words were fresh in her mind. Nyota's mother was right about how to get a man. She was just wrong about which man to get.

"Damn," Charlene said. She shook her head.

"I've got to go. Boma was pissed when he found out about last night." Charlene said. "I will be on my knees today until he forgives me."

Nyota shook her head. "Charlene, he obviously likes you a lot. You are not married. If he wants you to date only you, he needs to come correct. Make him work for it on his knees today!" Nyota said with grin.

Charlene stood up. She walked over to Nyota and hugged her. Charlene was straight, but Nyota had a body that could make her switch teams.

Nyota darkened the windows. She pulled off her shorts. Then she pulled off her panties. Then she pulled on her shorts and walked across the hall to Spock's door. She took her wet panties and rubbed them on his doorknob. Then she wiped down his door completely.

Vulcans were well known for their superior olfactory and aural senses. If Spock wanted her, he was going to come at her with respect. She shut the door loudly. Then she took a shower and washed the outfit she had been wearing. She slipped on a gown and picked up her padd to study more about Vulcan culture, particularly Ambassador Sarek.

Across the hall, Spock's lok got even harder. He opened his door and touched his doorknob. Then he sniffed his fingers. Spock wanted to break down Nyota's door, but he now wanted more from Nyota. He was willing to do whatever it took to have her in his life.

The Beginning
