A year ago, the SSV Normandy went down over Alchera, taking Lieutenant Commander Amanda Shepard with it. Her mother, Hannah, has decided Kaidan Alenko needs a grief intervention. She calls on Kaidan and Amanda's friend Declan Martin to take the job. Immediately follows the events of my story Intercession.

After the Reaper war, Sam is given a little house in exchange for her time with the Normandy. It's not quite what she'd dreamed of, but even though Shepard died, the commander still found a way to keep part of her promise.
