Some politicians are good and some stick to the stereotype of corruption. Whether that Mayor is abusing his or her power for their own benefit or actually trying to make the city they are running a good place to live, it's a safe bet that you can expect the best and worst of these cartoon political individuals. But I ask you, which one of these Mayors are totally corrupt and which ones actually have a degree of responsibility to their city? Hey guys, I'm Brad with WickedBinge and this is Cartoon Mayors: Good to Evil. Now just a quick note, we are ranking these guys based on their acts of Mayor and what they do with their authority, whether it be use it responsibly or to their own ends. So their acts outside of their Mayor authority will not count. We will also be including some Mayors that appeared as one-time characters in the cartoons they appeared in for this list to extend. Alright, let's do this!

As per always, we will be starting with the most pure characters and working our way down. The characters are The Good:

-We're giving the gold medal of good to the coincidentally named Mayor Mare from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. While she is more of a minor character, this old gray Mayor, no pun intended, seems to be very good at her job at running Ponyville. She hosts annual events like Ponyville Days and the competition between the Apple Family and the Flim-Flam Brothers. Aside from that though, she also seems to take concern whenever Ponyville is under attack like in "Inspiration Manifestation" where she informs Twilight about 2 ponies trapped in a giant crystal dome. She also takes property damage into account as in "The Last Roundup" where she pressures Applejack to win the rodeo to get a cash prize in order to repair the Ponyville Town Hall. The only downside we'd have to say is that in the episode "Magic Duel", she is rather easily taken down and imprisoned in a giant birdcage when Trixie conquers Ponyville, but that was mostly due to powers beyond her control rather than outright incompetence. All-in-all, she is basically the ideal Mayor of a town and one we wish to have in real life.

-Next on our list, the silver medal of good goes to to Nanefua Pizza from Steven Universe. Unlike the more cynical Mayor Dewey, more on him soon, Nanefua is actually a lot more competent when it comes to being Mayor of Beach City. She takes whatever dangerous situations happen in the city seriously and is even willing to warn her citizens about it, regardless if they'll panic about it or otherwise, because she takes their safety as her number one priority. We can honestly say she is a huge step-up from Dewey, who even says that she's a better Mayor than him. What keeps her from getting the gold medal is that she doesn't get too many appearances showing her outside of being a good mayor, but we will say that she more than earns the silver medal.

-Earning the bronze medal of good is Mayor Hamilton Hill from Batman: The Animated Series. Unlike his comic book counterpart, Mayor Hill is in no way corrupt. In fact, he actually proved to be such a capable Mayor to the people of Gotham City as he sought to improve it, like approving a new prison and found a way to improve public transport. The only negative thing we can say about him is his constant disapproval of Batman and his vigilante ways, though he does grow out of it when Batman has helped him out a lot of times, so not too bad to put him any lower. Next to the caped crusader and Commissioner Gordon, Mayor Hill is someone who tries to make Gotham a better place to be.

-Just outside the Good podium, he may have only appeared in a handful of episodes, but we're giving the next spot to the Mayor of Langley Falls, Alan Woodside from American Dad. Out of all the Mayors in the Seth MacFarlane shows, whom we will get to later on the list, Mayor Woodside seems to be the only one who is actually a good Mayor as he honestly seems like a nice guy. As far as being Mayor goes, he does seems like a Mayor who can run his city with efficiency, though we don't really see much of him to actually see that put into play as he mostly just ends up hosting events but we're putting him in the good category with the implication that his nice guy attitude has rubbed off on his Mayor prowess. He's not any higher due to the fact that in one episode, he joined a mob against Hayley when she is blamed for ruining a mural when it was actually Stan's fault, so that knocks him down a few points. That said though, it would seem this one act pales in comparison to his other acts and he nevertheless seems like a Mayor the city of Langley Falls is lucky to have in charge.

-Rounding out the good list is Mayor Davis from The Loud House. Like Mayor Woodside, we don't get to see much of her in the show, but that doesn't stop us from seeing her mayoral prowess. In the episode "Racing Hearts", she shows enthusiasm for the people of Royal Woods attending the Astonishing Quest. In the same episode, she has shown to take good sportsmanship into account as she has forbade Lynn from entering the quest due to her bad behavior the previous year and quickly goes after Lynn upon discovering that she circumvented her ban. What keeps her from getting any higher is in the episode "Electshunned", when she runs against Leni Loud for Mayor, she resorts to mudslinging in order to secure victory, showing that she is capable of being underhanded. Though, this was mostly due to the influence of her unscrupulous campaign manager Vic and in the end, she even starts taking Leni's example of being an ethical Mayor and fires Vic, showing that she is capable of knowing when she's wrong.

That does it for The Good list. We are now entering The Grey Area. These Mayor's aren't as bad but really not as good either.

-Starting off the the Grey Area is the first Beach City elected official, Mayor Bill Dewey. At the start of Steven Universe, Mayor Dewey held a cynical view of being Mayor of Beach City as he believes that a Mayor's responsibility is to keep people away from their problems. While not really corrupt, it shows that he has a very skewed point-of-view on being Mayor. At one point in the show, he lied to his people about a dangerous situation to avoid causing a riot, showing that, even as a cynical Mayor, he did seem to care about the citizens to some degree. Over the last couple of seasons, Dewey became a lost less cynical and when he lost the election to Nanafua Pizza, he came to understand that she became a better Mayor than him and we think that this ounce of character development earns him the top spot in the Grey Area

-The Mayor of Danville and Dr. Doofenshmirtz's younger brother, Roger Doofenshmirtz is next. Now, Roger was honestly a little complicated to put on this list. On one hand, he is everything Doofenshmirtz ain't; successful, loved by their parents and nice to others, even to Doof himself. Heck, he even does a good job of keeping the city clean when he becomes Mayor. With all that said though, it has been shown that he does have something on an unethical side. In the episode "The Beak", he immediately made his brother be acting Mayor in order to avoid getting blamed for the whole mess the Beak is causing. However, apart from this and other bits of selfishness, Roger has shown to be a very competent Mayor of Danville. The reason why he's on the Neutral list is because in the sequel series, Milo Murphy's Law, a new Mayor has replaced Roger, meaning that his small bits of selfishness finally caught up to him.

-Straight from Futurama, the Mayor of New-New York, C. Randall Poopenmeyer is next. Disregarding his hilarious name, Mayor P. seems to go back-and-forth with being a good Mayor and a not-so-good Mayor. In the episode "A Big Piece of Garbage", when he is notified about a giant hunk of trash from the old century about to collide with the city, he takes action to get rid of it and even awards the Planet Express Crew when they get the job done. This seems to show his good side. For his not-so-good side, that is most exemplified in the episode "The Mutants Are Revolting", where he is shown being easily persuaded by his campaign manager to outlaw mutants from the New-New York, even Leela, and force them to live in the sewers, though he ends up agreeing to let them live on the surface in the end though. This example of complication is the reason why Mayor Poopenmeyer is in the middle category.

-Moving on, our next entry is Mayor Hansock from Big City Greens. This guy hasn't appeared in the show too often, but that doesn't stop us from letting us see what he is really like. If there was one word to describe Mayor Hansock, it would be 'weak-willed'. He lacks any spine whatsoever and easily caves in to peer pressure. He's a manchild, lacks a lot of common sense and only does his job for the sake of his reputation more than anything else. In "Chipocalypse Now", he utterly takes no notice of how Cricket tried to prove that Chip Whistler's petition to destroy his family's home was falsified, only to change his tune when the citizens of Big City show up to defend the Greens and he caves into their demands and kicks Chip out of the city. While he does the right thing, he is mostly lobbied into doing so without doing it on his own accord because again, he gives into peer pressure. What puts him higher than the rest of our entries though is that Hansock does seem like a decent

-We haven't talked about this show before, but we think this is a perfect opportunity to talk about Mayor Whitney Whitebottom from Central Park. Much like Hansock, Whitebottom is very weak-willed, a huge coward and is very easy to browbeat. In one episode, during a luncheon, when a fight breaks out, Whitebottom's first instinct is to turn tail and run rather than deal with it. He is also in league with Bitsy Brandenham in her scheme to try and buy Central Park and make it a real-estate landmine, showing that he can be corrupt. The reason why he isn't placed any lower on the list is that most of his actions stem more out of fear than outright malice, so we do have to cut him at least a little bit of slack.

-The Mayor of Dimmsdale from The Fairy OddParents is next. Now on the surface, he seems like a decent person and does try to do his job of running the city of Dimmsdale, yet he has shown to very incompetent. When faced with an angry mob in one episode, he makes Chompy, the mascot of Dimmsdale, Mayor to get out of being attacked. He also seems to be easily swayed by blackmail as in one episode, Vicky threatens to embarass him if he does not make her Ms. Dimmsdale in the annual beauty pageant. He has also proven himself to be a dictator as when he comes into possession of Norm the Genie, he wishes to be Mayor of the World, which soon ends up with him about to be beheaded. If there is anything nice we have to say about this guy, its that he has kept the city of Dimmsdale from burning down for many years, so there's that.

-Up next is the Mayor of Townsville. Now, we are only going to be looking into his actions in the original Powerpuff Girls show, so his appearances in the 2016 reboot won't be included on this list. When the show first began, he was a Mayor who most assuredly cared about his town and trusted the titular heroines to help keep it safe, showing that he is a Mayor of honor. As the show continued on however, he somehow devolved into a complete idiot and manchild who only cared about his own self-interest or did things out of sheer stupidity and put the city he's running in danger, like in the episode "Live and Let Dynamo", where he for some reason has got stuck in the giant Dynamo robot that was once used by the girls stupidly pressed a button that activated it and ran amok on the town and proceeds to do it again once the Dynamo has been stopped and even once gave up being Mayor and allowed Princess to take the job due to being bought out by some Turkish Jerky. That being said, he does still have his moments of caring about the city and actually trying to do good, which keeps him from getting any lower.

-Hopping out of Amphibia is Mayor Frodrick Toadstool. At the start of the show, Mayor Toadstool has proven himself to be corrupt, selfish, a bully and quite the tyrant. In the pilot, he leads the town against Anne, even after she saves them from a giant Mantis monster and throughout the first season, Toadstool has lied and cheated the citizens of Wartwood, embezzling money from them for the sake of his campaign and even tried to harm Sprig when he found out about said embezzling. You might be wondering why this guy isn't lower on the list, like how is is it that he's not in the Bad Area? Well, it's because in the second season, we see Mayor Toadstoll become a totally different person, or toad that is. He is nicer to the townspeople and is even willing to lend a hand to them. When he is given the chance to be promoted to the new toad captain of the toad army, Toadstool ultimately decides not to accept it, showing that he has come a long way from the corrupt politician he once was. While we do admire redemption though, his bad actions from the first season keep him from ranking any higher.

-Just below him is Mayor Larry Box from The Cleveland Show. Now, Mayor Box is more of a minor character in series and he only has one episode where he has any sort of relevance to the plot, though this one episode sort of does tell us what we should know about the guy. He is very protective of an unscrupulous legacy of a the founder of Stoolbend, B. Emerson Plunkett V, as it as revealed that he was a slave-driver and he uses Cleveland to keep a statue of Plunkett from being torn down and turned into a parking lot, showing that he can be quite corrupt. However, that's not necessarily illegal as just jerky and we can't say anything more about him since he doesn't really make anymore meaningful appearances after that one episode he appeared in.

-Reaching the end of the Grey Area is Mayor André Bourgeois from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. As the Mayor of Paris, France, he isn't really someone who you consider a good Mayor. Whenever his people are in danger, he tends to care more for himself than his citizens and like most corrupt Mayors, he cares about making money and really doesn't take kindly when he loses it. As the villains Malediktator and Head-Hunter, he proves to be even worse, using his powers for his own gain. Why isn't he any lower on the list? Well for all his questionable morality, he has proven to love and care about his family and would do anything for them. He was also grateful for the work others do, showing that he has a respectful side deep down within him. He is also proven to be someone who is willing to learn from his mistakes most of the time, so we can't really say he's all bad. As a Mayor who can be both a good and a bad person, Mayor Bourgeois more than earns his spot in the Grey Area.

At long last, we have entered Bad List. This where we rank the Mayors that are from Bad to Evil:

-For the least evil, we have the recently deceased Mayor of Quahog, Adam West from Family Guy. Due to how over-the-top insane this guy is, we will say that said insanity has affected his role as Mayor. He has committed a lot of horrible acts that sure would've gotten him kicked out of office. One example of which is using taxpayer's money for a bunch of ridiculous stuff, like making a gold statue of the cereal mascot Dig 'Em the Frog and illegalizing gay marriage in order to make people stop paying attention to it as well as being bought out by an oil tycoon to let Quahog Lake be polluted. What keeps him from getting any lower? Well, for as bad as he is, Mayor West's bad acts borders mostly on him being insane and too be fair, they really aren't meant to be taken too seriously. In regards to his death, it would appear that his cousin Wild Wild West is a huge step-up from him. Rest In Peace, you insane, corrupt politic.

-Up next is the one-time character, Mayor Tong from Avatar: The Last Airbender: In the episode "Avatar Day", his town, Chin Village, all have a superior hatred for the Avatar due to how an Avatar of the past, Kiyoshi, took out the town founder, Chin the Great. When Aang arrives in town and admits to being the Avatar, he is promptly arrested and in prison, Tong basically tells him that he will have no opportunity to defend himself whatsoever. So, it is clear as day that Tong is utterly insane and unfair and even when Kiyoshi tells her side of the story, Tong, along with his people, only care about her confessing that she killed Chin, showing that he is very stubborn and unwilling to hear out others. Tong is also a coward as he pleads with the Avatar, who he has been harassing all this time, to get rid of some Fire Nation soldiers who have come to raid Chin Village. He does change his view on the Avatar after which, but really dude, you ought to have more common sense.

-Mayor Phillip Fitzhugh from Recess is next. He is the incompetent Mayor of Third Street and has been known to be a bully to T.J. and his group, often using his position to make their lives a living Hell. The most horrendous thing Mayor Fitzhugh has done, or rather, threatened to do, was try to separate the main kids for accidentally destroying the town statue, an act that even their antagonist teacher and principal find too extreme. He is also docked a lot of points where it is revealed that Fitzhugh deliberately destroyed the statue himself as a kid, thus making him an utter hypocrite. This act alone more than proves that he deserves to be at this bottom of the list.

-At the bottom five is Mayor Fred Jones Sr. from Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated. As the Mayor of Crystal Cove, he has shown to have an eye for greed and often puts Mystery Inc. in danger to a comedic level, which is especially jarring since the leader of said group is his son Fred Jr., whom he constantly neglects. However, all of this is now seen in a more serious light at the end of season 1 where it is revealed that he's not really Fred's father, he kidnapped Fred when he was a baby in order to gain leverage against his real parents, who were friends of him who searched for the Spanish treasure of Crystal Cove before deciding to try and take it all for himself and has been moonlighting as the Freak of Crystal Cove in order to keep others at bay while looking for the treasure. So, this guy is not only a sociopath, but also a greedy scumbag. What keeps him from getting any lower is that at the end of the show, he has proven that he does have some genuine affection for Fred as Fred was about to get hurt and got him out of harm's way and he soon makes an honest living being the Principal of the Crystal Cove High School, but we really can't ignore his more bad acts, hence why he's this low on the list.

-Just outside of the evil podium is the Mayor of South Park, Mayor McDaniels. McDaniels is what you typically find in a Mayor in a cartoon show, idiot and abusive of her power. She constantly belittles the citizens of their town she is supposed to be running and at one points openly disparages the town. While she is not wrong in this regard, she really hasn't done anything to make the town all that better. Among the horrible deeds she has done is kick Stan out of town just because he did not want to be involved in voting for a turd sandwich or a giant douche for the school election and has participated in cannibalism at one point. With all this said though, what keeps her from getting any lower on the list is that she at least tries to be a good Mayor on some occasions.

-Earning the bronze medal of evil is Mayor Anthony Tangenti from F is for Family. Tangenti is one of the more newer Mayors in cartoons as he appeared in the show in the later part of season four. However, that does not take away just how corrupt this politician is. He tries to bribe Rosie when he becomes the new Alderman to look the other way in trying to help out his fellow African-Americans that are downtrodden in his neighborhood as he was more interested in getting people's votes to tear down a library in order to make way for a dog track. While this ultimately didn't come to be in the season four finale, the fact that this guy offers kickbacks to his subordinates for the sake of his goals proves what a sleazeball he is.

-We're giving the silver medal of evil to the Mayor of Springfield, Joe Quimbly. Quimbly is basically the textbook example of a corrupt politician. He uses his position as Mayor to do whatever he wants, he accepts bribes from criminals like Fat Tony, is the biggest con-man in town and generally has little if any care for the citizens of Springfield. He is willing to lie and cheat to stay in power and generally doesn't take the needs of his town into account, which explains why Springfield isn't really the best town to be in. He has done many things that would almost guarantee that he be voted out of office, though it would seem that the people of Springfield are too stupid to realize this and keep him in office. Why doesn't Mayor Quimbly get the gold medal of evil if he is this much of a crooked Mayor? Well, we must say that, as bad as Quimbly is, there are a few moments here and there where has shown a good or at least a decent side to him, which keeps him from getting any lower.

-And finally, earning the gold medal of most evil Mayor in a cartoon is The Mayor of Elmore from The Amazing World of Gumball. How much of a bad Mayor can you be? Well, how about bad enough to have your entire city population be exiled? That's right, this guy was going to have the people his mayoring be evicted form their homes in order to make Elmore a gated community to rich developers and could only do so by turning the Wattersons into model citizens so that his plan would be put into action because their constant acts were bringing the prices down on the town. He showed absolutely no care to the people of Elmore's lives that he was gonna ruin all for the sake of a plan so illegal that even the reckless Wattersons were taken aback by and this act and willingness alone is what earns him our gold medal of evil.

All right, that's it for our list. But what do you think? Leave your comments below if you agree with our ranking and tell us which show you'd like to see next. Remember to hit the notification bell so that you don't miss new episodes of Good to Evil.
