It had been three days since the fight with Vento of the Front.
Touma was asleep in his makeshift bed in the bathroom. He hadn't had a good rest in a while so he was glad nothing bizarre was happening or so he thought when he suddenly felt a weight on his body. He thought it was his roommate Index.
"...?"
When he opened his eyes, he was met face-to-face with a boy wearing sunglasses with spiky blonde hair.
His neighbor and classmate Tsuchimikado Motoharu.
"Tsuchimikado?"
"Good morning~"
"..."
He chopped his head in response.
"Ow. Did you not want my morning kiss, Kami-yan."
"I need to make breakfast so could you perhaps move aside?"
"Sure, thing Kami-yan."
Suddenly the bathroom door slammed open. Index walked with Leivinia Birdway next to her.
"I had a feeling you would be in here." Leivinia let out a sigh.
On the other hand, Index was covered in a dark aura.
"Tooouuumaaa what's going on here?"
Like a husband caught having an affair the high school boy tried explaining why he was in this situation which ultimately failed to result in him getting bitten.
Even if they were both guys.
"Ahem, anyway, why are you two here?" Touma questioned while rubbing his head.
"The Salvation Church," Leivinia stated bluntly.
" A magic cabal correct?" Touma asked.
"That's right!" Motoharu chimed in.
Leivinia continued. "Several days ago, the Anglican church discovered two spies from that very group, and I found one in mine several of our spiritual items and grimoires were stolen. After torture- I mean extracting information from them we discovered some of that group's plans."
"Why are they in Academy City?" Touma thought aloud.
"Well, simply put they want your right arm and the sister."
"Us!?" Index and Touma exclaimed.
"If that's the case this magic cabal needs to be taken care of quickly." Another voice spoke out.
"Uwah! Since when did you get here!?" Touma exclaimed startled by his sudden appearance. A tall boy with red hair that reached his shoulders and a priest from the Anglican church Stiyl Magnus.
"Doesn't matter." Stiyl faced Leivinia. "If what you're saying is true then I suppose you have a way to take care of them."
"That's right and we have traces of where they're heading to."
The rumbling of a stomach echoed throughout the room. Everyone turned their direction to the silvered hair nun turning her face red in embarrassment.
"Okay, we should meet up again when we know what their next move is."
And with that, the meeting ended.
Misaka Mikoto was in the dorm of Tokiwadai. She had been sleeping when she heard her roommate Kuroko Shirai getting changed into her uniform.
"Yawn. Good morning, Kuroko heading out for judgment duties."
"Good morning, Onee-sama! That's right but for some reason I get the gnawing feeling it's going to be a busy day. Sigh, well I should get going."
Misaka waved her roommate off.
Well, I should go out too.
After getting changed into her uniform she left the dorm, thirty minutes later she was in District 8. As she wandered around aimlessly, she noticed a spiky-haired boy walking out of the convenience store. As soon as she saw him, she got excited much to her embarrassment.
"Hey, you!"
"M-Misaka what are you doing here!?"
"I-I was just walking around, what about you?"
"Ah, I just got some groceries for the day."
"Is that so I was just thinking w-would you like to h-hang out n-next Saturday?"
"Hm?"
Crap! What the hell am I saying? It sounds like I'm asking him on a date! Misaka felt her face heat up. "I-I mean I heard there's a new museum opening up and I just thought we could see it together, that's all!"
"Yeah, sure I should be free." Touma glanced at his phone. "Oh, I should be heading out now. See you next Saturday."
"Y-Yeah sure…"
Touma headed back to his dorm after his encounter with Misaka.
"Going to a museum next Saturday, wait doesn't that sound like a date!? No, no, no It's just as a friend there's no way my luck will allow such a bright event to happen in my life." Touma let out a sigh. "Such misfortune."
When he reached his door handle, he noticed something was off. His door was unlocked.
"Did I forget to unlock the door or did Index go out?"
Even with what he said his instincts were telling him something was wrong. Sensing this he barged into his dorm.
"Index!"
Instead of being met with his roommate a woman with green eyes and blonde hair. She wore a red robe with a school uniform underneath. She held a large staff of twisted wood.
"Welcome home, Kamijou Touma."
"Who the hell are you?"
"My name is Tia and I've been tasked with eliminating you." She pointed her staff at him. "Nothing personal."
An orb of blue light appeared at the of the staff. The orb started getting brighter and brighter firing into a beam of blue light. Touma blocked it with his right hand and charged toward Georg to punch him in the face.
"Dumbass!"
"Huh?"
Without realising Touma had stepped on a glowing blue rune. Now that he noticed the entire room was filled with runes. The array of runes shone brightly exploding with light and sound blowing away all the furniture in his room and shattering his windows. Blue flames burned everything in its path.
"Uwah!" Touma was sent flying out of his room into the hallway.
The explosion caused his hearing and vision to be in complete disarray. Despite that Touma forced his body to stand.
"My, my." She clapped her mockingly. "I'm surprised that didn't kill you."
"It's going to take a lot more than that to kill me!"
"Is that so." Several blue orbs of light floated around Tia. "Then I should try harder."
"Shit!" Touma ran down the hall and the flight of stairs exiting the dormitory.
"Playing tag? I don't mind."
Touma sprinted down an empty alleyway. This should be good, there are no civilians.
"I found you."
Touma turned to face his
"What? Don't tell me you led me here on purpose?"
"Yeah, this way no one else gets involved."
Tia smiled thinly as she pointed her staff at him a bright blue beam of light shot at him. Touma negated it with his right hand and charged toward her.
"I don't know who sent you, but this ends now!"
"As if!"
Several blades of light protruded from the ground beneath him impaling him in the process.
"Argh!" Touma collapsed onto the floor. "Shit..."
"Sorry, sorry I always have surprise attacks when fighting my opponents." She pointed her staff to finish him off. "Let's end this."
"Yeah, let's end this."
"Who the hell are you-Ack!?"
Multiple shadow-like tentacles pierced her arm and leg joints. Tia fell to the floor with a thud, she struggled to lift her body but couldn't because of her pierced joints.
"Who the hell did this!?"
"That would be me." A boy the same age as Touma walked down the alleyway. He had dark hair and vibrant blue eyes. He wore black pants and a black shirt. "
"Why!? I was so close!"
"Well, that's…not important at the moment all I know is that Necessarius is on its way."
"!? I'll remember your faces! Don't think this the last you'll see me!" Tia's body started to shine brightly turning into particles of light disappearing from view.
"Where did she go!?" Touma exclaimed.
"She teleported." The boy spoke casually. "Anyway, we should get you treated."
"Thanks…who are you anyway?"
"Kudou Nora, nice to you." He said with a grin.
"I'm Kamijou Touma, thanks for saving me Kudou-kun."
To be continued...
