[MY COMMENT]
This is hopefully an improved version of Buu Saga Gohan in Re: Zero. No more BS Ki nerfing, however, if it makes the story look cool, I'm adding it in regardless. But no more limp piss sorry ass Gohan. This is an effort to overcorrect the mistakes of the previous story. I listened to a bunch of Dokkan Battle soundtracks including Re: Zero sound tracks to try and get an idea for what I want this story to feel like.

The heroic 18-year-old SSJ2 Gohan and the formidable pink menace known as Majin Buu shook the very fabric of the battlefield as a chorus of crackling energy and blazing auras from both fighters filled the air. Gohan's heart pounded like a war drum, matching the adrenaline surging through his veins after having already unleashed his relentless attacks upon the strange pink monster. His fierce expression quickly turned to utter shock after realizing that Buu effortlessly absorbed his every strike. It was as if the mighty Saiyan warrior was merely a bothersome insect to the terrifying pink blob.
"Wait, seriously? He just took everything I threw at him?" Gohan wondered, his mind racing like a wild river, seeking to find a crack in the enemy's seemingly impenetrable defense.
Majin Buu, savoring the upper hand, wore a mischievous grin that stretched from ear to ear. The pink monster taunted Gohan, its voice dripping with smugness, "You a pest! BUU MAKE YOU LEAVE!" The very ground trembled under Buu's malevolent aura as it suddenly unleashed a devastating energy blast, its sheer malevolence sending a shiver down Gohan's spine.
The Supreme Kai, a witness to the intensity of the battle, gasped in horror as he urgently shouted, "Gohan, watch out! Be careful of his attack!"
But Gohan's spirit and golden flames burned brighter than ever before. Fueled by unwavering determination, he charged straight at Majin Buu with a warrior's cry, refusing to cower in the face of overwhelming power. Like a shooting star, he pushed forward, determined to destroy the Evil Majin Buu. But courage alone couldn't shield him from the colossal surge of Buu's energy that struck him with the force of a million hurricanes, sending him hurtling through the air in a blaze of searing pain.
Gohan's anguished cry filled the air as he was engulfed by the overwhelming energy blast. The Supreme Kai watched in terror, his heart pounding in his chest, desperately hoping that their brave Saiyan ally would somehow emerge unscathed. But as the smoke cleared and the dust settled, Gohan seemed to have vanished from existence, leaving nothing but the echo of their fears and the weight of the situation pressing down on the Supreme Kai's shoulders.
"!" The Kai's voice quivered with fear and sorrow, fearing the worst for the courageous warrior. "Gohan! Noooo!" he cried out in horror, the intensity of the moment threatening to overwhelm him.
Amid the chaos, Babidi, the malevolent mastermind behind Majin Buu's actions, laughed maniacally in triumph. His voice pierced the air like a jagged blade as he taunted, "That's the end of you! Foolish Super Saiyan!"

Suddenly, in a disorienting twist of fate, Gohan awoke shouting in an entirely different world, far from the familiar North Galaxy that he knew. As he regained his senses, he found himself standing amidst the vibrant Capital of Lugnica, a place he had never even imagined in his wildest dreams.
"What just happened?" He wondered aloud, earning curious glances from passing pedestrians who were taken aback by his sudden outburst.
To his utter bewilderment, Gohan's hands trembled as he regarded them, realizing that he was back in his base form. His fingers brushed over the fabric of his familiar green Saiyaman Gi, and his eyes widened as he noticed that the previously damaged black undershirt and pants were now fully restored, showing no signs of the grueling battle he had endured against Dabura and Majin Buu. With a sense of wonder, he extended his hands before him, his white gloves a stark contrast against the backdrop of the unknown world.
"I'm still alive!?" His voice cracked with disbelief, prompting yet more puzzled glances from passersby who couldn't quite make sense of his words.
Lowering his hands, Gohan took in his surroundings with a mixture of awe and confusion. His eyes widened as he took in the medieval fantasy city that stretched out before him. The Capital of Lugnica buzzed with activity, its vibrant energy reaching his senses. Footsteps echoed on cobblestone streets, and the hum of conversations created a symphony of sounds that was both unfamiliar and captivating.
While certain humanoid animals triggered a sense of familiarity, reminiscent of beings he had encountered in his own world, the stark absence of advanced technology and the comforts he had grown accustomed to left him in a state of awe and bewilderment. The architecture he beheld was far from the practical, spherical designs he knew; instead, brick rectangles with triangular roofs dotted the landscape. The air resounded with the clinks of metal armor and the hushed swish of flowing robes, blending together to form an environment that was utterly foreign to him.
"Wow, this is nothing like what Dad mentioned about otherworld," Gohan mused aloud, his voice carrying a sense of amazement that harmonized with the enchanting surroundings.
Gradually, he shook off the initial confusion that had enshrouded his mind like a dense fog, his determination setting in as he sought to grasp the reality of his new situation. "Then that must mean Majin Buu hasn't taken me out yet." Yet, a more pressing question tugged at his thoughts – "How did I end up here?" he pondered aloud, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "And, more importantly, where is Majin Buu?"
He shut his eyes to sense for Buu but his thoughts were interrupted when a peculiar creature, an eight-foot-tall bipedal ground dragon without wings, crossed his path. Gohan's Saiyan instincts kicked in, and he gracefully sidestepped the tall creature, realizing it was merely a docile beast of burden pulling a rugged carriage. The coachman's curious gaze locked onto Gohan before returning to the road ahead.
"What kind of creature was that?" Gohan wondered as he watched the carriage stroll away, "It almost looked like my flying companion Icarus from back home, albeit without wings."
Eventually returning to more important matters, Gohan's heart weighed heavy with his thoughts of concern. 'No! I can't handle any more distractions, I must find a secluded alley before I can take off in flight,' he thought to himself, preferring to hide his powers from the general public.
Now deftly sidestepping the pedestrians, Gohan strolled along the busy streets, observing the diverse citizens and the bustling atmosphere around him.
The city was a mesmerizing blend of medieval architecture and fantastical elements. He saw elaborate brick buildings with delicate carvings standing tall, adorned with colorful banners fluttering in the gentle breeze. The cobbled streets were lined with shops and stalls, selling all sorts of wares – from enchanting trinkets to fresh produce from nearby farms.
As he continued his search for a private alley, Gohan was reminded of the variety of beings walking the streets that coexisted harmoniously. All of them went about their daily lives as any other resident of the city.
Gohan gazed curiously toward a group of dwarves haggling over prices with a greedy merchant. Their stout and sturdy forms made them stand out, and their boisterous laughter filled the air as the merchant scoffed in disdain. Then he turned his head to witness a pair of catgirls, with their feline features, browsing through a collection of intricate trinkets. They spoke with a feline accent.
"Amazing, this is like something out of a fairy tale," Gohan thought to himself, marveling at the diverse inhabitants of Lugnica's Capital.
The sights and sounds were unlike anything Gohan had experienced before. He felt like he had stepped into a living fairy tale, a realm where magic and mundane aspects intertwined seamlessly.
As he turned a corner, he caught a glimpse of a majestic castle in the distance, towering over the city. The structure exuded an air of authority and nobility, and Gohan wondered if it was the residence of a king or queen.
"Unreal, how could I have missed this place while flying around the Earth with Goten on the Nimbus? No, nevermind that, I still have to prioritize stopping Majin Buu."
Choosing to pick up the pace and move quicker, he caught a sudden female gasp somewhere behind him. He glanced over in confusion before noticing a young woman tripping onto the main paved road, her basket of fruit spilling onto the pavement. Gohan stopped in his tracks, his heart racing as he sensed the danger that was fast approaching – he saw a docile beast of burden pulling a carriage and it was heading straight toward her.
Gohan watched the ordeal take place, his focused expression now shifting to a look of concern.
"Someone has to help her!" Gohan said aloud, his heroic spirit taking over.
Without hesitation, Gohan sprang into action, moving with the speed of a shooting star. He vanished from his spot and gracefully scooped up the woman and brought her to safety, just as the carriage whizzed past, crushing the spilled fruit in its wake. The crowd stood in stunned silence, their eyes wide with confusion and amazement at how this young stranger moved so fast.
"Don't worry, you're safe now," Gohan said to the bewildered young female, relief flooding his voice as he looked at her worried face.
Immediately the young woman looked up at the 18-year-old Saiyan with gratitude shining in her eyes. In an unexpected gesture, she leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on his right cheek, leaving him momentarily flustered and embarrassed.
"Thank you, handsome stranger." She whispered in a gentle soothing voice, her innocent eyes focusing on his shocked expression. "You're like a guardian angel," she said with a newly formed smile before hurrying away from his presence, her cheeks slightly flushed as she quickened her pace, partially yet modestly holding up her long dress so that she may not trip and fall again.
As the crowd witnessed this unexpected display of gratitude, their murmurs turned into whispers of admiration, with some giggles sprinkled in.
"Did you see that? He moved like lightning!"
"Lightning? Might he be a knight in disguise?"
"Such swiftness! A knight of Lugnica wouldn't have been quicker."
"Yes, he must be a knight! Could he be Reinhard?"
"No, no, he doesn't fit the description!"
"Who is he then?"
Audible remarks of astonishment continued as Gohan hurriedly vacated the scene, each voice painting him as a Knight of Lugnica, but they couldn't be further from the truth.
Though Gohan was slightly embarrassed by the attention, a warm feeling of pride washed over him. "It wasn't my intention to draw attention to myself, but I couldn't bear to see someone hurt when I could have easily helped them."
"But at least they're unfamiliar with my alternate superhero identity." Thought Gohan, still ignorant of the fact that he wasn't anywhere on his planet Earth.
[X]
As Gohan hurried through the bustling streets of the Capital, the city's vibrant energy enveloped him at every turn. The cheerful chatter of merchants and the laughter of children at play filled the air, while the multitude of voices and actions in his vicinity overwhelmed his senses. Yet, beneath this lively exterior, an unsettling sensation tugged at Gohan's gut.
His Saiyan instincts surged to high alert as a prickling sensation crept up the back of his neck, causing the hairs on his arms to stand on end. He was acutely aware that he was being watched.
Gohan's gaze darted around, scanning the crowd for any signs of suspicion. It didn't take long for his attention to lock onto a figure – a tall man with fiery red hair, dressed immaculately in pristine white attire. This man moved with a determined stride, his unwavering gaze fixed upon Gohan.
[Standing at 5'9" in height, the highschool-aged Gohan found himself shorter than Reinhard's 6-foot-tall stature.]
'Is that man suspicious of me? Does he possess knowledge of my Saiyaman identity?' Gohan's thoughts raced, curiosity and caution battling for dominance within his mind. He subtly increased his pace, testing whether the stranger would alter his steps to match.
Unbeknownst to Gohan, the red-haired man, Reinhard, had indeed been closely observing him. Reinhard's azure eyes glinted with intrigue as he shadowed the movements of the young stranger. There was an intangible quality about Gohan that had captured Reinhard's interest – an aura of strength and an air of mystery that set him apart from the ordinary crowd.
Continuing along his chosen path, Gohan finally spotted the secluded alleyway he had been seeking.
"Finally, my chance to slip away," Gohan mused as he swiftly entered the narrow passageway, the clamor of the bustling streets fading into the background. However, his surprise was palpable when he found Reinhard already there, standing in the shadow near the alley entrance, as though he had anticipated Gohan's arrival. The Saiyan was astonished but quickly shifted his expression to a composed demeanor.
"You were following me," Gohan stated, his voice steady yet tinged with curiosity.
Reinhard's lips curved into a faint smile, his gaze unwavering. "Indeed I was," he admitted, his tone respectful. "But don't be alarmed. I harbor no ill intent. Only, I wish to inquire about a man who was found impersonating a knight."
Gohan's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Impersonating a knight? I did no such thing!"
"I don't recall accusing you of impersonating a knight," Reinhard replied, his expression remaining composed as he crossed his arms. "Unfortunately, your sudden outburst does raise suspicion."
Gohan shook his head as he regained his composure. Now raising one hand, he explained, "Fine. Just a while ago, I saved a girl from being trampled by a moving carriage. However, I'm not responsible for any rumors that were spread about me."
"You do seem to be telling the truth, so I'll take your word for it," Reinhard replied, his charismatic smile unwavering.
"Is this the only reason why you followed me? To check if I was breaking any of your laws?" Gohan asked, sensing that there might be more to this encounter.
"Not entirely," Reinhard replied. "The truth is, I sense a noble heart and great potential within you. If your allegiance isn't elsewhere, I'd be willing to vouch for you so that you may train to become an official knight of Lugnica."
"I don't know who you are or why you're telling me all of this. Regardless, I'm not interested in your proposal," Gohan responded without hesitation, he believed that holding a sword is more of Trunks' sort of thing. "But tell me, you mentioned that you can sense my potential. Does that mean you can sense Ki, similar to me?"
"Ki?" Reinhard asked, tilting his head in confusion. "What is that?"
Gohan shook his head to correct himself, "Sorry, I meant can you sense people's life energy?"
"If you are referring to mana, then yes. However, while you don't seem to have much mana within you at the moment, I can sense that you have seemingly boundless potential."
'Interesting,' Gohan thought. 'I was suppressing my power, yet this man was able to sense my potential. Although, he seems to be confusing life energy with his understanding of magic.'
"Let me reiterate that I'm not interested in helping you fulfill your recruitment quota," Gohan continued without a sign of doubt in his expression. "Sorry, but I'm in a hurry."
Recognizing that Gohan wasn't interested in becoming a knight, Reinhard finally relented as his shoulders slumped down.
"Very well, I'll let you go," Reinhard said with a tone of resignation. "Although, It would be wasted potential for you to remain with idle hands. Please, if you have a sudden change of heart, do reconsider my offer and come visit the guard station." Reinhard's words trailed off as Gohan walked past him, showing little enthusiasm.
"Sure..." Gohan replied with a lack of interest. "I'll keep that in mind." He continued, finding the end of the alley and slipping into an isolated location, far from any prying eyes. Without wasting time, Gohan shot up into the sky, disappearing into the clouds before anyone could notice...
"Hn, that was a strange encounter." Muttered Gohan as he looked down at the city. "Luckily he doesn't know about my Saiyaman identity..."
The clouds of the sky enveloped him as he flew higher, the cool air calming his racing thoughts. Still, he was unaware of the true nature of Lugnica and its magical inhabitants. As he soared further into the horizon, Gohan's heart was filled with resolve to destroy Majin Buu.
[X]
As Gohan continued his flight through the skies, shifting altitude as he dodged the clouds, he couldn't shake off the growing sense of confusion and unease. His senses should have allowed him to detect the presence of powerful foes like Majin Buu or any of Earth's mighty defenders. Yet, all he encountered was a world filled with strange beings and enchanting landscapes.
"What's going on?" he wondered aloud, his voice carrying through the forest below him as he continued in flight. "Why can't I sense Majin Buu's power or any of my friends?"
"Could Buu have destroyed my friends? But why hasn't he destroyed the world yet?" Gohan wondered continually, still not understanding the predicament he found himself in. He could still sense the life energy of this world's inhabitants, yet he couldn't recognize his family or friends.
As he flew across the vast continent, he noticed that the world seemed unfamiliar. There was no sign of any noticeable landmarks or the modern cities he once knew. It was as if he had been transported to a completely different realm, far removed from his version of Earth.
Soon he made his way toward the famous Flugel tree, a massive landmark recognized by all inhabitants of Lugnica.
"How did I miss this tree?" Gohan mused aloud, his suspended form in midair allowing him a clear view of its breathtaking magnificence. "Could Buu's attack possibly have sent me to a different planet?"
The thought alone caused dread to fill his mind with unease. "Am I even on planet Earth to begin with?" he wondered with unease.
Now tightening his muscles in readiness, he spun around and detected a substantial presence in the distant sky, shrouded by a veil of misty fog. His eyes squinting through the haze, he discerned the silhouette of a massive white body concealed within the fog. Its horn was the first thing that protruded out of the fog, its massive form drawing nearer and nearer.
Curiosity overtook any inkling of fear or apprehension within Gohan. He found himself captivated by the creature's existence, oblivious to the inherent peril it posed to the inhabitants of this world.
"A skyborne whale? What a fascinating animal!" Gohan exclaimed, his flight drawing him closer to the dangerous creature. "Are there more of its kind? Could it be utilizing Ki to remain airborne? How is it achieving that?" His questions reverberated with genuine wonder.
However, Gohan's amazement swiftly transformed into astonishment and perplexity as the flying whale accelerated, shrouding the surroundings in an even denser fog. Soon, all directions were obscured, rendering visibility nonexistent. Yet, the creature's presence remained palpable to Gohan's heightened senses.
"Interesting. It thinks that I'm on the menu," Gohan assumed, his intrigue unabated. "Is this its method of hunting unsuspecting prey?"
Anticipating an impending assault, he agilely evaded the attack at the last conceivable moment. The massive jaws of the whale yawned wide, its voracious intent was evident as the displaced fog hurtled in Gohan's direction.
"Wow! That was a close call," Gohan breathed in relief, his tense muscles relaxing as he landed securely atop the creature's colossal head. "Now, what exactly does an animal this big eat? Does it pose a threat to the people of this land? Could this creature be an endangered species?"
Gohan's straightforward inquiries reflected his pragmatic mindset as he sought to unravel the enigma of the magnificent yet potentially perilous creature beneath him.
Gohan swiftly shook off his daze, a surge of urgency coursing through him as he rekindled the memory of Majin Buu's looming threat to Earth's safety. Despite the pressing danger, he found himself stranded far from the North Galaxy, a realization that had yet to fully sink in.
"Gah, I can't afford to lose focus like this! Putting an end to Majin Buu is my only concern!"
Positioning himself atop the white whale's colossal head, Gohan's actions mirrored his intentions. A precisely executed punch landed on the creature's cranium, triggering a chain reaction that sent the formidable being hurtling toward the expanse of grassy fields below. The dense fog in its path was displaced by the whale's rapid descent, creating an ethereal spectacle of mist and motion.
The ground quaked with a resounding thud as the white whale crashed onto the Earth, its formidable presence now reduced to an unconscious sprawl. The force of the impact cleared away all the fog in the vicinity.
"I'll return for you later. So stay put," Gohan addressed the incapacitated creature, his voice unwavering, before launching himself back into the sky. With a determined gaze, he scanned the horizon, still unaware that his pursuit of Majin Buu was now an intricate dance across realms, a challenge unlike any he had ever faced before.
[X]
From the skies he continued scanning the world below him, the unfamiliarity of this world gave way to a worried expression signaling that he was lost. Finally, he flew to the very edges of the continent, hoping to find answers, only to be met with an eerie sight – the world abruptly ended, giving way to an endless void of nothingness down below. The world was indeed flat, unlike the spherical Earth he was accustomed to.
"This is unreal! It's as if Buu banished me into a completely different dimension," Gohan mused in abject horror, his mind trying to process the bewildering reality.
As he gazed into the misty abyss below, he felt a mix of trepidation and curiosity. This was unlike anything he had ever encountered before, and he couldn't help but wonder how he ended up in this strange and mystical world.
"No... This can't be happening. Where am I?" He wondered with dread and worry. "Is this even my world!?"
Determined to find answers and a way back home, Gohan decided to return to the populated Capital for clues.
Immediately he shot up into the skies and quickly flew straight to the Capital again. In such swiftness, the borders of the grand city were laid out before him as he soared closer to it.
Now descending into the alley he initially took off from, he found three individuals leaning next to the alley's entrance, as if waiting to catch whoever enters it off guard and rob them.
"Are these three supposed to be muggers?" Gohan wondered in thought. The three clearly harbored ill intent judging by their body language. However, their power levels were so small he couldn't detect any malice in their life energy whatsoever.
Gohan's footsteps barely made a sound as he closed in on the unsuspecting trio – Camberley (Kan), Gaston (Ton), and Rachins Hoffman (Chin.)
The thugs were engrossed in their hushed conversation, oblivious to the impending presence behind them. With a near-silent stride, Gohan's sudden appearance caused them to startle, freezing in their tracks.
Gohan halted, his voice cutting through the tense silence. "What are you doing?"
The trio spun around, their eyes widening as they took in Gohan's formidable Saiyan warrior physique. The unspoken realization swept through them – this was no ordinary target. Their gazes met and they exchanged a split-second glance, a silent agreement forming among them.
Kan found his voice first, his tone cautious. "Where the hell did you come from?"
Gohan's response was immediate, his gaze unwavering. "That's not important. It looks to me like you're trying to rob an unsuspecting person."
The skinny thug's bravado wavered for a moment as he brandished a knife, his voice quivering. "And what are you going to do about it!?"
Gohan's expression remained unchanged as he casually swatted the blade away, the metallic clang echoing in the narrow alley. The thug stumbled back, his knife clattering to the ground.
Undeterred, the thug held out another knife only for it to vanish from his grasp.
"Huh?" He stared blankly at his hand before shifting his attention back to Gohan, who held the blade this entire time. The Saiyan simply tossed the blade aside without losing eye contact with the three of them.
The trio exchanged furtive glances, a cold realization settling in – they don't stand a chance against him. Gohan's swift movements had caught them off guard, their initial intentions crumbling in the face of his overwhelming presence.
Chin, the self-proclaimed leader, gulped audibly as he struggled to maintain composure. "Look, we didn't know you were around. We were just... kidding, we're just joking."
Ton's bravado deflated, his voice apologetic. "Yeah, yeah! No harm, no foul."
Gohan's stern gaze remained fixed on them, his voice unwavering. "Find a better way to spend your time, or I'll be there to stop you."
Finishing his sentence, Gohan's attention sharply shifted as an unfamiliar blond female adolescent (Felt) abruptly came to a halt at the entrance of the alley, then her stride transformed into an urgent pace as she turned to enter it.
"Move it! Out of my way!" Her words echoed with frantic urgency as if she were fleeing from a looming danger.
Responding to her urgency, the trio of thugs instinctively stepped aside, their gazes snapping toward the newcomer in a mix of puzzlement and curiosity as she darted past them with haste.
Gohan's eyes tracked her swift movements, and just before a collision could occur, she halted in her tracks upon spotting him, her gaze locking onto the figure before her. Pausing for a moment, her attention seemed to shift from escape to observation as she took in the individual in front of her.
"Hn?" Raising a concerned eyebrow, Gohan's voice held a gentle inquiry. "Are you alright?" he asked, his gaze lowering to meet the eyes of the shorter girl.
In an almost instantaneous response, a realization seemed to dawn upon Felt as she observed Gohan's warrior physique. Her expression shifted from observation to one of dread, her voice quivering as she cried out, "Help! There's a silver-haired witch after me, trying to harm me and snatch my belongings!"
The words reverberated through the alley, and the trio of thugs paled, fear gripping their features. "A silver-haired witch?" Kan exclaimed, panic evident in his tone. "Let's get the hell out of here!" With a unanimous declaration, the three thugs hurriedly scampered past both Gohan and Felt, their footsteps fading as they took a corner and disappeared.
Gohan's mind processed Felt's claim, his features hardening into a firm resolve to protect and serve. Kneeling to meet her gaze at eye level, his voice was resolute. "Don't worry. I won't let her get to you. Go in the opposite direction, and I'll handle this."
Felt bowed her head gratefully, "Thank you." then took off in the opposite direction of where she came from, now disappearing into the dark alley.
Felt's seemingly innocent smile had a heartwarming effect on Gohan, renewing his resolve to assist someone in distress. Her gesture of gratitude evoked a sense of purpose within him. "You're welcome," Gohan replied with a nod, but she was too far away to hear him.
"I guess searching for clues would now have to wait."
Now that he was left alone in the alleyway, Gohan's expression shifted dramatically. The fierceness and determination that were etched across his features were palpable, a reflection of his unwavering commitment to thwart any harm that might befall an innocent at the hands of the so-called silver-haired witch.
Standing alone in the dimly lit alleyway, Gohan heightened his senses and sharpened his focus, preparing himself for the impending encounter with the alleged silver-haired witch. The fear expressed by the three thugs, including the urgency of Felt's distressed words echoed in his mind, firmly planting the belief in the threat she had described.
The notion of a silver-haired witch conjured images of a sinister, elderly woman with greying hair. However, reality held a different surprise.
Emerging gracefully from the brightly lit streets, a feminine figure stepped into the alley, capturing Gohan's attention with an ethereal presence. His gaze narrowed, fixating on the young silver-haired woman before him. Contrary to his initial expectation, she embodied an air of otherworldly elegance, her youthful aura radiating in the dim surroundings. Her otherworldly eyes met his, and he was taken aback by her beauty.
'Wow!' Gohan thought with wide eyes. 'I didn't expect her to look like this.'
The woman with striking silver hair that cascaded down her back like strands of moonlight, regarded Gohan with a mixture of surprise and caution. Her amethyst eyes, reminiscent of deep, precious gems, continued scanning his, assessing the determined Saiyan standing before her. The palpable tension between them hinted at an unspoken challenge, a clash of wills hanging in the air.
"Return what you stole!" She demanded, her hands resting on her hips. "I won't hesitate to forcefully take back what is rightfully mine." Her voice, though resounding with authority, belied her seemingly feeble female appearance.
'She's not as scary as I thought she would be,' thought Gohan as he subtly shifted his stance for better stability. 'But looks can be deceiving, therefore I cannot let my guard down.'
Gohan's expression remained steadfast, his stance unwavering. He had resolved to protect the blond adolescent, regardless of the circumstances. Raising an eyebrow at the woman, his voice dripped with authority. "Are you the silver-haired witch she was talking about?"
The woman's gaze held steady, her voice maintaining a calm demeanor yet tinged with a hint of annoyance. "I'm not the witch! Just give back what you stole—it's precious to me, and I need it back."
"This is the first time I've seen you, so don't play dumb with me," retorted Gohan, his determination unwavering. "If you try to harm that young girl and steal her belongings, I'll be there to stop you."
"She didn't hand it to you before running off?" asked the silver-haired woman in confusion. "That must mean she still has it on her!"
Gohan's skepticism persisted, but the sincerity in her words gave him pause. While his duty was to protect the young girl, a nagging desire to uncover the truth tugged at him. "What are you talking about?" he inquired, his tone unwavering. "Are you saying that she stole something from you?"
Her expression shifted, a blend of frustration and desperation playing across her features. "Yes! I'm telling you the truth. Despite my appearance, I pose no threat. My only desire is to have my belongings returned."
'What is she on about?' Gohan wondered with intrigue. 'What's so wrong with her appearance that she has to reassure me that she's not a threat?'
Gohan's mind was a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts, his internal debate mirroring the uncertainty on his face. After a tense moment of deliberation, he made his choice, trusting the fear he had witnessed in Felt's eyes. Even the fearful reactions of the three thugs influenced his impression of the silver-haired woman. They might have feared her for a reason.
With a fierce look of the trademark Son family, he spoke firmly, "I don't believe you. Sorry, but you're not harming anyone today."
The silver-haired woman exasperated sigh hung in the air, her expression marked with an unwelcome reluctance as she declared, "I'm left with no choice but to force you out of my way!" With an air of elegance, she extended one hand toward him, channeling her magic to conjure an ice bolt into existence. The ethereal projectile hovered still in midair, exuding an icy aura that sharply contrasted with the warmth of the alley's ambiance.
"So you're actually a real witch?" Gohan asked, much to her visible annoyance at being called that. "Well then, give it your best shot!" Gohan's voice carried a challenge as he taunted her, his unwavering resolve evident in his unwavering stance. He braced himself, ready to protect the young blond girl he perceived as innocent. His unwavering focus remained fixed on the suspended ice bolt, muscles tensed in anticipation of any impending assault.
Seeing how he refused to back down, she fired upon him, but without moving from his spot, he leaned to the side, allowing the icy projectile to woosh past his shoulder.
Unfazed by her initial failure to hit him, the woman's expression remained steadfast. It was as if she had already faced mightier adversaries in the past. Conjuring a new barrage of magical projectiles, she launched them in rapid succession, targeting Gohan once again. Despite the increased onslaught, the result remained unchanged. Gohan moved with the grace of a seasoned warrior, shifting effortlessly from side to side, the projectiles sailing harmlessly past him as if guided by an unseen force.
Yet, within the charged atmosphere of their confrontation, Gohan remained oblivious to a subtle movement in the corner of his field of view. Swift and elusive, a mischievous floating feline—slipped through the shadows, using its magical abilities to freeze Gohan's right foot in place. The cold grip rapidly ascended Gohan's leg, like creeping tendrils of frost eager to immobilize him.
Gohan's realization came too late as the icy vice tightened its hold.
"What the!?" he exclaimed, his senses jolted by the biting chill that enveloped his foot and steadily encroached upon his body. The shock of the sudden cold left him momentarily vulnerable, his gradual paralysis a testament to the feline's cunning maneuver.
The mischievous feline, now floating before Gohan's face, playfully wagged its tongue in a taunting display before saying, "Maybe next time, keep a closer eye out for the unexpected."
Gohan thought in wonder, 'How did!?.. I can't sense that flying cat's energy!' Then he glanced at the silver-haired woman and thought, 'But I can sense hers just fine.'
The woman's voice held a blend of apology and resolute purpose as she chimed in, "I'm sorry." Her remorse was quickly translated into action as she sent the ice bolt in his direction, its trajectory aimed directly at Gohan's head with the intent to knock him unconscious.
However, Gohan's reflexes came in handy. With a precise motion, his unfrozen right hand smacked away the incoming bolt, effectively dispersing it in a burst of frosty particles. The seamless execution of his defensive maneuver caught both Emilia and Puck off guard, their expressions revealing a mixture of astonishment and acknowledgment.
Emilia's voice was filled with awe as she marveled, "Even while frozen, his will to resist carries on..."
Puck observed the scene with keen fascination as if evaluating a rare specimen. "Not bad. This mortal seems to be formidable," he commented in a tone that bordered on indifference, his attention momentarily drawn to the continuous freezing of Gohan's body, a cold veneer stopping just short of encasing his head. "Still, his resistance is futile."
Gohan's gaze darted between Emilia and Puck, his face a canvas of astonishment as the frigid chill gnawed at his body and his teeth chattered involuntarily. His free arm was now fully frozen, making it seem like he had no more options to defend himself.
"T-t-this is u-unreal!" Gohan managed to stammer through chattering teeth, his amazement mingling with the biting cold. "Th-the c-cold from this i-ice is n-nothing l-like I've ever e-experienced b-before, a-and it m-makes it h-hard for m-me to b-break f-free."
"What's this?" Puck noticed Gohan was still fully awake and completely conscious of himself and his surroundings. "You're still cognitive and aware?"
"T-TH-This ice is r-really c-c-cold!" Exclaimed Gohan with still chattering teeth.
"Interesting, the shock from the cold should have put you to sleep," explained Puck with growing interest. "yet for a mortal, you're still holding a sophisticated conversation with me."
The woman's demeanor softened as she regarded the seemingly defeated Saiyan with empathy. Stepping beside him, she stopped and offered, "Don't worry. You won't remain encased for long, provided you cooperate." She explained with a soft and reassuring voice. "Tell me where the thief fled and I guarantee that you'll be freed."
Gohan's shocked expression now shifted to sorrow as his thoughts flowed with uncertainty, 'Could it be?' He wondered. 'That I'm nowhere near my version of planet Earth? Then I suppose... using my power here wouldn't be of much consequence.'
"Why the long face?" Asked Puck with a cheerful demeanor. "You should consider it an honor to be outsmarted by a great spirit."
Immediately, Gohan's expression shifted to anger as he unleashed a resonant shout, channeling his energy into a kiai wave that radiated outward.
"Haaa!" Gohan's growing power swiftly shattered and disintegrated the ice enveloping his body, releasing a billowing burst of steam and frost.
The silver-haired woman gasped as the violent energy pushed her aside, she even made a valiant effort to ensure her skirt doesn't fly upward. Meanwhile, Puck's tiny form was easily blown away making him fall flat against the brick alley wall just as the temperature from Gohan's Ki melted the ice. Veils of translucent Ki energy enveloped Gohan's form like a luminous, translucent blaze, acting as an impervious barrier against the relentless cold.
Once the outward energy lessened in intensity, the silver-haired woman regained her footing. Then her eyes widened in astonishment as she gazed at Gohan's bright translucent ki that shrouded his form. The young half-elf realized that she was confronting a formidable adversary, one whose strength surpassed hers, yet his unwavering will matched her own.
Realization dawned on her with a sense of urgency as she exchanged a fleeting glance with the now-recovering Puck. The great spirit's gaze seemed to implore for permission, a silent request to unleash more formidable power against the mortal. However, her expression shifted to one of deep concern, a palpable worry etched into her features.
Now pumped up, Gohan's energy became as calm as a gentle stream, for he was now fully prepared for anything they would throw at him.
"I won't be caught off guard again," Gohan declared with his fists clenched to his side. "you can be sure of it."
Hovering midair, Puck innocently approached the Saiyan and stopped just in front of him with a demeanor of observation and intrigue.
"You're pretty strong for a mortal," Puck remarked, a cheeky smirk gracing his feline features. "It would be a shame if someone of your talent were to meet an undeserving end."
Gohan's response was laced with a hint of arrogance, "Are you trying to intimidate me? Because it will take more than empty threats for me to budge from this spot."
Puck's adorable feline visage contorted into a frown as he spoke, "You're quite foolish not to show the fear and reverence a great spirit fully deserves," Continued Puck with a cold snarl. "Don't you know there's divinity behind the humbling of the proud?"
"Is that so?" Gohan's raised eyebrow matched his persistent arrogance. "Well then, come and see if you can teach me a lesson."
Puck let out a resigned sigh, his reluctance evident in his voice, "Sigh, so be it."
"Puck!" Cried out the silver-haired woman in worry. "Please don't kill him!" Emilia's voice carried a heartfelt plea, her concern for the situation evident. "He knows not what he's doing!"
Gohan's ears caught the plea, his curiosity piqued by her impassioned words. Confusion clouded his thoughts as he pondered her outburst, a flicker of doubt casting shadows over the accusations that were made against her.
Puck's gaze remained unwavering on Emilia, a resolute look of understanding shining in his eyes. "Don't worry, Lia, I only intend to move him aside." Emilia's concerned expression softened at the reassurance, her trust in her companion evident.
Puck's attention shifted back to Gohan, his mischievous grin widening. With a series of playful paw motions and a cheeky smile, he manipulated the temperature around him, conjuring a potent gust of freezing wind. The powerful torrent of air surged forward, directed forcefully toward the Saiyan. However, Gohan stood unwavering, a steadfast figure amidst the tempest. His hair and green Gi billowed majestically in the gale, portraying an aura of indomitable strength. Despite the intensity of the wind, Gohan remained rooted in place, resolute and unyielding. Strangely, the potent winds rushing into the narrow alleyway created an eerie, almost haunting sound, as if the very wind itself was screaming in terror.
Beyond the confines of the alley, pedestrians passing by halted in their tracks, casting worried glances towards the darkened passage. Some quickened their pace, choosing to steer clear of the unknown source of disturbance.
Perplexed, both Puck and Emilia exchanged astonished glances, unable to comprehend the unyielding presence of Son Gohan. As before, he remained rooted in the same spot.
"Well, that's not according to plan," muttered the great spirit in confusion. "That force should have lifted a hundred men with ease, yet he stands there unmoved."
"Giving up yet?" Asked Gohan, oblivious and naive in how he was manipulated by the false words of the fleeing thief. "You won't be hurting any children today, so just move on with your lives."
Puck turned his attention briefly to Emilia, seeking her permission. With a reluctant nod, she indicated her agreement, though her concern lay in the possibility that their display of force might escalate beyond necessity.
With resolve that mirrored his actions, Puck's form underwent a sudden and dramatic transformation. No longer bound by its endearing appearance, Puck expanded in size and intensity, his once-cute visage shifting into that of a formidable panther with pristine white fur. The ambient temperature plummeted dramatically, the very air crackling with the power emanating from the spirit's enlarged form.
The eyes of the great spirit glowed an ominous red as it locked its gaze onto the astonished mortal. Finally, Gohan took a step back in awe of what he had witnessed.
With an awestruck gaze, Gohan watched Puck's stature grow, noticing that the alley proved incapable of containing the great spirit's expanded presence. The great spirit's body seemed to breach the confines of the surroundings, extending beyond the alley and onto nearby rooftops. With a thunderous impact, his massive hind legs sank into the concrete slabs, and the claws on the powerful forelegs displaced roof tiles, leaving a trail of upheaval in his wake. The very fabric of the environment seemed to shudder in response to Puck's monstrous body, a testament to the raw power now at his command.
Wide-eyed and open-mouthed, citizens who had moments ago been going about their business now found themselves frozen in place, consumed by a mixture of wonder and terror. The great spirit's sheer size had turned the once-thriving street near the alley into a theater of disbelief and unease.
Immediately, waves of cold air were unleashed upon the vicinity, causing fear and panic to ensue as people urgently avoided the frostbite.
"By the gods, what manner of creature is that?" murmured a woman, her voice trembling as she hurriedly retreated from the rapidly freezing alley. "Could it be a great spirit?"
"N-no!" Cried out a superstitious man. "Has it come to destroy the world!?"
"Look at the sheer enormity of it! It's as if a nightmare has sprung to life!" exclaimed a man, his voice quivering as he struggled to comprehend the surreal spectacle unfolding before him. Even he stepped back from the now-icy alley. Soon, a collective movement saw everyone in the vicinity distancing themselves from the intensely cold area.
Strangely, the words of the innocent silver-haired witch flowed in his thoughts once more, as Gohan's realization finally pierced through the fog of his cognitive dissonance. He now realized that he had been manipulated by the young thief, deceived into allowing her a chance to escape.
"Wait, just hold on a second!" Gohan's voice held a note of urgency as he raised his hands in a gesture of innocence. "I think we started with a misunderstanding!"
"It's too late for that, mortal," Puck retorted, his tone unyielding. An aura of judgment and authority hung around his words. "You should have complied with my daughter's clear and concise commands."
Lowering his hands and balling them into fists, Gohan held his ground, his determination unwavering. "Very well, I admit my mistake. But there's no need for things to escalate any further. With that said, I'll simply step aside and allow you to continue without hindrance."
To prove his point, Gohan stepped aside showing that he was willing to comply.
"Has fear finally brought reason to you?" Puck's words held a hint of malicious amusement. "Very well. If you desire to safeguard your life, then you shall lead us to the thief who has wronged my daughter."
'I don't have time for that!' Thought Gohan in a panic. 'Searching for such a small ki signature would take all day!'
Gohan shook his head in disagreement, his expression resolute. "I'm afraid I cannot be of assistance," he replied, the memory of Majin Buu still vivid in his mind. "While I acknowledge my error in obstructing you, I am also pressed for time and have urgent matters to attend to."
"You've just squandered your sole chance of saving yourself!" Puck's aggression escalated in response. "I extend no further forgiveness!"
"Hn! Get in my way and you'll be sorry." Gohan retorted with a hint of annoyance. "I must return to my home and stop Majin Buu before he can do long-lasting damage, you wouldn't understand."
Puck's figure emanated an aura of chilling authority as he responded, a mix of curiosity and condescension lacing his words. "Arrogance persists, I see," he mused, his voice carrying a subtle edge. "Indulge me then. How does an ant intend to confront a dragon?"
Unyielding, Gohan's determination blazed brighter. He drew his fist back, and a brilliant aura of ki enveloped his hand, illuminating the dim alley with its radiant energy. Emilia watched in awe as the luminous glow cast an otherworldly light on the surroundings.
"This is how an ant takes on a dragon!" Shouted Gohan, and in a breathtaking display of agility, Gohan launched himself toward Puck's fearsome form with remarkable speed, defying the laws of gravity. The scene left Emilia in a state of astonishment and shock, her eyes widening at the escalation of violence.
"Cease this madness!" Screamed Emilia with clenched fists, causing Gohan to momentarily freeze with hesitation, but this cost him dearly as Puck's right foreleg pummeled Gohan with a swift downward motion, sending the foolish mortal crashing into the pavement creating a deep crater in the ground and dust, and debris was sent flying into the air.
Emilia's gasp of horror escaped her lips as she watched in disbelief, her heart sinking as she believed she had just witnessed a man's life extinguished before her very eyes. Her eyes welled with unshed tears, a mixture of shock and sorrow washing over her.
But then, as if defying the grasp of fate itself, Gohan emerged from the depths of the crater, brushing off the dust from his green gi. Then with his fist still charged with Ki energy, Gohan locked eyes with the astonished great spirit and leaped into its imposing form before connecting his ki-infused fist with its stomach.
The impact was cataclysmic as it sent Puck's massive body flying out of the alley.
Outside the alley's confines, the streets were filled with awestruck onlookers as the ice loomed ever closer to them, their curiosity piqued as new incomers craned their necks toward the alley's entrance to witness the massive white panther protruding out the alley. Everyone in the vicinity ensured to remain a safe distance from the white monster as the ice continued to spread across the streets and into the nearby buildings.
In response, people fled those buildings, leaving them empty in the process. Meanwhile, those who stayed in the vicinity watched closely, and with their mouths hung open in wonderment, they beheld the astonishing sight of Puck's imposing form violently hurtling out of the alley and crashing against a nearby building, causing the structure to collapse into itself. The shockwave generated by Gohan's punch rippled through the city, creating a deafening boom that prompted winces and the covering of sensitive ears among the Demihuman population.
Puck, once an embodiment of towering might, now lay motionless under a three-story inn just outside the alley. His imposing form sprawled out in full view for all bystanders near the alley to witness.
"What in Volcanica's name is going on!?" cried out a bewildered bystander, his expression a mixture of disbelief and astonishment as he witnessed the terrifying creature flying out of the alley with great force.
"It's colossal! Who would dare oppose such a formidable beast!?" exclaimed another, his voice tinged with both fear and awe as he struggled to comprehend the sheer magnitude of the spectacle unfolding.
Still, within the shadowed recesses of the alley, Gohan's unease grew as the implications of his actions settled in.
"Oh no, I used too much strength," Gohan muttered, a hint of anxiety lacing his words, his worried gaze ensnared by the motionless form of the great spirit, now shrouded beneath the weight of the collapsed building. His palms clenched involuntarily, a testament to the turmoil churning within. "I still can't feel that thing's energy," Gohan murmured, a constant thread of concern weaving through his thoughts. "If there are more beings strange like that one, then I won't know if anyone inside that building got hurt."
Emilia's glare seared through the dimness as she approached Gohan, her anger very noticeable. Without hesitation, her hand met his cheek with a resounding slap, the sharp sound punctuating her words, "Stay out of our way!" Her voice carried a fierce resentment as she pivoted away, hastening to Puck's side to assess his condition.
"Hold on!" Gohan's voice echoed urgently as he hastened to catch up with Emilia. "I'm sorry for punching your friend into a building!" He paused, his brow furrowing as he grappled with his attempt at an apology, "Actually... That still doesn't sound right." Gohan's voice was tinged with a touch of self-deprecation. If there was a proper way to apologize for punching someone into a building, Gohan didn't know how.
Emilia ran past the curious on-looking bystanders who with curious gazes watched the menacing form of Puck lying still in the debris of the destroyed inn. Now standing before the wreckage, Emilia watched as the menacing form of Puck shrunk in size. The reduction of size caused the debris to be displaced in the process.
"Puck!" Emilia cried out, her concern deepening when she didn't get a response from her terrifying feline guardian.
"Ma'am!" Cried out Gohan as he sidestepped the curious bystanders to approach Emilia. "I can make it up to you! I swear!" His voice carried an earnest plea, a genuine desire to rectify his actions.
Emilia turned around and glared at Gohan, for a moment she considered his words before preparing to rebuke him. "I said leave us alone!" she shouted, the temperature dropping as unseen energy enveloped the vicinity, causing the temperature to drop dramatically once more.
"Woah!" Gohan's step back mirrored the retreat of the curious onlookers, their movements a synchronized dance of caution and uncertainty. Murmurs of speculation rippled through the crowd as they exchanged idle comments, their intrigue piqued by the unfolding drama.
"What's going on?"
"Were those two inside the alley with that monster?"
Amidst the gathering crowd, Gohan's attention was drawn to the approach of Reinhard, the renowned knight whose presence commanded respect. However, his entry was accompanied by a platoon of armored knights, their imposing figures adding to the air of authority.
"Make way!" An armored knight's authoritative command sliced through the murmurs, prompting the crowd to disperse and clear a path for the approaching entourage. The scene had evolved into a spectacle that demanded attention, an intersection of power and intrigue that left the bystanders both captivated and bewildered.
Reinhard's piercing gaze swept across the scene before him, his keen eyes taking in every detail with unwavering focus. First, his gaze settled upon Puck's massive yet defeated and unconscious body lying in the debris of the inn. Reinhard's expression had a mix of concern and curiosity as he assessed the formidable great spirit's current predicament.
Soon, Reinhard's gaze locked onto Gohan, an enigmatic being who intrigued Reinhard with his seemingly boundless potential. There was a flicker of recognition in Reinhard's eyes, however, his features remained composed, betraying little of the thoughts churning beneath the surface.
Finally, Reinhard's attention shifted to Emilia, the silver-haired woman who stood at the heart of the unfolding turmoil. Her posture and expression revealed a complex blend of worry, frustration, and resentment.
"Lady Emilia." Said Reinhard with an air of concern, "Why is your great spirit resting under the ruins of a crumbled inn?" he asked while glancing at the destroyed inn where Puck rested under the debris.
Emilia briefly glanced at Gohan causing the knights accompanying Reinhard to shift their attention to him in suspicion. Gohan slightly stepped back in worry, not wishing to fight anyone else today, his Saiyan strength would make it difficult not to hurt anyone by accident if he were to defend himself from their attacks.
A voice shattered the tension, as Puck's diminished form emerged from the wreckage of the inn, his presence hovering in the air. "That one really hurt!" Puck's tone carried an air of mock indignation, a lighthearted jest that contrasted the gravity of the situation. "That mortal can pack a real punch!" he exclaimed, his words punctuated by a chuckle that reverberated through the air.
Reinhard arched an eyebrow, his gaze flickering towards Gohan before returning to Puck. A question seemed to linger unspoken in his eyes, an unspoken curiosity that lingered like a wisp of smoke. 'Did this man punch a great spirit into a building?' he wondered.
Emilia's worry transformed into relief as she rushed towards Puck, her embrace of the great spirit a testament to her genuine concern. "You're still alive," she whispered, her voice carrying a mix of gratitude and tenderness.
"Of course I am," Puck replied with a playful glint in his eyes. "Despite that tremendous punch, I was able to perceive his restraint when he made contact with my midsection. He has no malice in him, he's just a little confused."
A quirked eyebrow conveyed Gohan's surprise at Puck's comment. 'He sensed my intent from feeling my punch?' Gohan's thoughts swirled in a maelstrom of amazement and bewilderment. 'What a strange creature.'
Reinhard's focus shifted to Gohan once again, his concern evident. "Did you engage in combat with a great spirit?"
"It was a misunderstanding!" Gohan's voice was earnest, his raised hands expressed a plea for understanding. "I'll admit, I'm at fault for this, however, it was never my intention for this to escalate out of control."
Reinhard's expression remained resolute, that of a stalwart guardian of order. "Acknowledging the situation is a step in the right direction," he noted, his voice carrying a measured tone. "However, the potential consequences of your actions still linger. Considering your demonstrated prowess, I am concerned about the harm that could befall the city if you were to resist me."
"I see..." Gohan's response was accompanied by a somber nod, his understanding evident in the downward cast of his gaze.
Reinhard's unwavering gaze bore into Gohan, a mixture of apprehension and determination gleaming in his eyes. "Hence, I beseech you to provide a compelling reason that would warrant my restraint and dissuade me from executing an arrest on charges of disrupting a royal candidate for Lugnica's throne."
Gohan shifted his attention to the silver-haired woman in astonishment. "She's a what?"
"Furthermore," Reinhard continued. "your actions have endangered the peace by inflicting significant damage upon privately owned real estate. It's unknown whether or not anyone there had died because of you."
Worry etched across Gohan's features as he processed Reinhard's explanation, the weight of his actions now fully realized. Gohan opened his mouth to respond but stopped abruptly to contemplate his actions. Then suddenly, an unexpected surge of energy radiated from Gohan, causing the knights and onlookers nearby to instinctively step back.
"Is he preparing to engage Reinhard in combat?" wondered the assembled knights, their apprehension growing as they considered the potential cataclysmic aftermath of a clash between two formidable warriors within the city's limits.
"So you've made your decision?" Reinhard's question dripped with a sense of impending confrontation, his narrowed eyes and hand poised near his sheathed blade underscoring his readiness. "Hm..." He murmured as if a revelation had unveiled itself. "It would seem that you're a worthy adversary. Are you truly steadfast in proceeding down this path of aggression?"
Among the bystanders, a chorus of hushed comments circulated, their preconceived knowledge of the immense destructive power wielded by a great spirit influenced their understanding of the enigmatic stranger standing before the illustrious sword saint. Whispers of hushed speculation filled the air, fueled by the awe-inspiring display of power they had already witnessed.
"That man... He struck a great spirit. And sent it crashing into a building?"
"That appears to be the case. I witnessed how its massive form was flung onto the side of an inn."
"What manner of individual can contend with a great spirit like that?"
"This is reminiscent of tales from ancient legends."
"Astonishing! It's no wonder Reinhard considers him a worthy adversary!"
However, their concerns were met with an unexpected twist. With astonishing swiftness, Gohan leaped skyward, his form disappearing amidst the billowing clouds above, leaving behind a trail of amazement and bewilderment.
"Wait, did he just... disappear into the sky?"
"What? He's no longer going to face Reinhard?"
"What in the world just occurred? I thought a battle was imminent."
"That man must have realized his inferiority and fled!"
The comments among the bystanders reflected a mix of surprise, fascination, and speculation as they grappled with the unexpected turn of events. Gohan's swift departure left them with lingering questions and a sense of curiosity about the enigmatic stranger who had momentarily captured their attention.
"Oh dear kami, I've caused too much trouble," Gohan lamented, his voice tinged with regret, as he ascended into the clouds with conflicted emotions. "But the least I can do is... what was her name again?" He pondered aloud, his thoughts a whirlwind of scattered memories. "That red-haired knight called her Emilia. Yes, that's it. I'll try to make amends by returning what was stolen. It's the least I can do to rectify this mess I've caused." With newfound determination, Gohan continued flying across the clouds.
"Only when I set things right, I'll find out how to escape this world and return home, that's if, and only if it wasn't already destroyed by Majin Buu."

Character opinions and concerns:
Emilia's Perception of Gohan:
Emilia's initial perception of Gohan is one of caution and annoyance as the Saiyan stands in her way. She tries to convince him of her innocence and the importance of her belongings.
As their interaction continues, Emilia becomes increasingly intrigued by Gohan's strength and resilience when he effortlessly deflects her attacks and breaks free from freezing magic. Her perception shifts to recognizing him as formidable.
However, Emilia's perception of Gohan becomes more complex as the situation escalates. When Puck threatens to use more power, Emilia pleads for Gohan's safety and sees him as potentially misguided rather than malicious. Her concern for his well-being reveals her compassionate side.
As Gohan confronts Puck, Emilia's concern intensifies. She witnesses Gohan's bravery in defending himself but also perceives the potential danger of his strange powers. Her emotions shift from worry to shock and anger as Gohan's powerful punch causes significant destruction with the potential to kill Puck, leading to sadness, anger, and disappointment in Gohan's choice to hit back.

Reinhard's Perception of Gohan:
Reinhard's perception of Gohan encompasses initial intrigue due to Gohan's boundless potential, then shifts to cautious assessment of the potential threat he poses to the safety of the Capital.
Reinhard's opinion of Gohan remains unchanged, however, he expresses restraint in regards to fighting Gohan, not due to fear, but because of his willingness to resolve quarrels in a peaceful manner. Gohan's ability to hurt a great spirit does not intimidate Reinhard at all, and he's especially not afraid to fight Gohan if the need arises. His knowledge of the Saiyan's abilities are still a mystery up to this point.
A final thing to note is that Reinhard realizes his sword either considers the Saiyan a worthy opponent or that the blade knows that Reinhard will require all the available strength necessary to defend himself against such a dangerous foe.

Puck's Perception of Gohan:
Initially, Puck is intrigued by Gohan's power and resilience in the face of freezing magic, viewing him as a formidable mortal. However, as the situation unfolds, Puck becomes increasingly frustrated by Gohan's arrogance and refusal to comply with Emilia's requests. Puck perceives Gohan's actions as foolish and disrespectful, especially when Gohan challenges him and Emilia.
Puck's anger arises from Gohan's lack of fear and lack of reverence for a great spirit, which Puck considers a mistake. He sees Gohan's behavior as a display of ignorance and foolish arrogance. When Gohan attempts to confront Puck, Puck's anger intensifies, and he undergoes a transformation to assert his authority and power. Puck's decision to confront Gohan physically stems from a mix of necessity and a desire to humble a foolish mortal.
In summary, there's Curiosity and Fascination, Irritation and Caution, an acknowledgment of power, and finally the realization that Gohan has a noble heart, only that he was a little confused.

Felt's perception of Gohan:
Although their interaction was brief, Felt perceived Gohan as some random sucker who fell for her lie, proving Gohan to be some kind of fool whose heart is easily swayed by the woes of a maiden in distress.
However, her street smarts and instincts allowed her to realize that Gohan would be a perfect obstacle to stop Emilia from catching up with her.

Chapter 1, Part 2 of 2
[Estimated 9,952 Words]

Shrouded in the embrace of sprawling clouds, Gohan soared across the skies high above the Royal Capital, his gaze fixed firmly downward. With his eyes scanning the labyrinth of streets and rooftops, he embarked on a quest to return what was stolen. Determination radiated from his very being as he sought to mend the unintended consequences of his actions.
"I can't believe I fell for that blond girl's lie," Gohan's rueful admission mingled with the winds that whispered through the sky. His voice carried a hint of chagrin, a self-directed reproach that painted his cheeks with a faint hue of embarrassment. "I was used like a pawn in that game of hers, all so I can assist her with escaping the presence of that innocent silver-haired girl."
Gohan's eyes, like beacons of purpose, remained trained on the unfolding city, a testament to his resolve. "What exactly did that young thief steal from Emilia?" The question, tinged with curiosity, slipped from his lips. "And more importantly, how will I find that thief with all of these conflicting Ki signatures scattered across this city?"
After briefly scanning for her energy source, a tinge of frustration colored his expression. "How infuriating! It's like I'm searching for a needle in a haystack!"
As he continued flying he eventually sensed a malicious energy that didn't feel anything like Ki whatsoever, and yet it was almost familiar enough for his senses to detect.
"Huh, what's that down there?" he wondered as his gaze met a peculiar sight below. With his gaze fixed downward, he saw a robed maiden, trapped inside a teal energy barrier of uncontrollable power.
The onlookers in her vicinity consisted of knights, sages, wizards, and mysterious robed onlookers, their attempts to dispel the mysterious energy proving futile. Whispers of concern and hushed comments spread through the crowd, as a pair of knights dragged away an unconscious body from the spectacled scene.
Gohan, ever curious, approached the scene by landing somewhere hidden and secluded before emerging among the gathering crowd. His gaze met the maiden's fearful expression as she struggled in vain against the ethereal barrier that held her captive. His eyes meeting hers, he found that she was dressed similarly to the robed onlookers, causing him to believe that she is likely one of their companions.
Seeking answers, Gohan asked the robed wizard to his side, "What's happening here? Why is she trapped inside that energy barrier?"
The wizard acknowledged Gohan's presence with a sidelong glance before responding, "Regrettably, the young lady is an initiate in the sacred arts and has inadvertently ensnared herself within the confines of her own spell."
"And Nobody can help her out of that barrier?" Asked Gohan in visible concern.
"Strangely, none of the sages possess the means to liberate her. It appears to be an unprecedented occurrence. Efforts were made to release her, but those who attempted it found their mana mysteriously drained. This unfortunate process has already claimed several lives. Some perished instantly, while others were left with their gate grievously damaged, rendering them incapable of wielding magic ever again."
Gohan was taken aback by that unfamiliar term. "Um... a gate? I don't see any gates or fences around here."
"Hn?" The wizard raised a brow in concern. "What are you on about, young lad?"
"Uh, I mean, you were talking about how their life energy was absorbed, right?"
"Precisely, young lad." The wizard responded with a nod. "It's an unfortunate chain of events. Unless she can dispel that little trick of hers, the spell must either dissipate on its own, lest she remains trapped until she dies of malnourishment."
Gohan's heart sank with worry and concern for the young maiden as he looked into her panicked expression, her hands banging against the walls of the teal barrier of energy that kept her body captive.
Drawing closer to the barrier, the wizard Gohan had previously spoken to grabbed him by the collar of his green gi, pulling him back in place.
"You approach in vain, young man!" The wizard's tone was that of a seasoned mentor chastising an inexperienced novice. "An amateur without knowledge of the arcane should not approach any further! Haven't you heard? Those unable to disperse that malevolent energy will find their life force drained away." The words were delivered with a firmness that carried the weight of authority, his gaze penetrating like a sharpened blade.
As the utterance hung in the air, two knights strode purposefully toward Gohan, their armored forms a formidable blockade. "Step aside!" one knight barked, a command edged with authority. "This ordeal is for adept hands, not reckless youths!"
"Don't worry, I'm here to help." Replied Gohan in earnest. "I have my own magic to work with." he lied, knowing full well his life energy stemmed from Ki, not mana.
"Are you certain?" Asked the knight to the right of Gohan. "From what academy do you hail from?"
"I am self-taught." Replied Gohan in a white lie. "Now let me through."
"An unlearned novice, are you? So be it, your fate rests in your hands."
Amidst the murmurs, Gohan sidestepped the crowd's commentary, his unwavering gaze fixed upon the perilous barrier ahead. 'So this is what mana looks like?' Thought Gohan with intrigue. Soon he made his way to the dangerous energy barrier, some individuals making idle comments as he studied the strange energy.
"Oh look, another fool willing to gamble his life away."
"Nay, the outcome remains uncertain, he may surprise us."
"Whatever unfolds should be interesting, I'm simply here to enjoy the ensuing quarrel."
Now shifting his attention from the teal barrier, Gohan locked eyes with the trapped youthful maiden inside while she looked back at him with a hopeful expression.
"Don't worry," Said Gohan in a reassuring voice. "I'll get you out of there."
A bystander with his arms crossed snickered in response to this, "Hehe, smooth talker eh? We'll see what he's made of."
Now focusing his energy, Gohan's white-gloved hands became shrouded in a protective layer of Ki which caught audible gasps from the gathered sages.
"W-What's he doing?"
"What sorcery? I seem to be unable to sense his power."
"Indeed, even the energy in the atmosphere remains undisturbed."
"Might he be a user of the spirit arts?"
With a determined focus, Gohan's hands rested on the energy barrier in an attempt to force it open by drawing strength from his life energy. Yet, the truth behind the wizard's concerns became apparent – Gohan's Ki was being rapidly absorbed by the mysterious force upon contact.
"What's going on?" Gohan wondered aloud with a visually panicked expression.
"Well, well, another one bites the dust." Commented the same skeptical bystander with amusement. "This just doesn't get old."
"!"
Undeterred, Gohan's resolve intensified as he grunted with exertion, his life force fighting against the wails of the violent energy barrier. With a fierce shout that resonated throughout the vicinity, Gohan unleashed a powerful surge of white energy that clashed against the teal energy that threatened to suck him dry.
"What's happening?" Cried out a random onlooker as the ground shook with intensity. Everyone stepped back in awe as the teal energy became more violent, threatening to drain the Saiyan dry of all his life energy.
The maiden, previously trapped in fear, gasped as she watched in awe as Gohan's efforts bore fruit. Little by little, an opening was formed where Gohan focused his energy. But in the process, his white gloves were disintegrated, and even the long sleeves of his black undershirt were disintegrated as he forced the barrier open with his power. His now visible muscles became strained and veiny as Ki fueled his body at every moment of the clash, lightning from the teal barrier constantly electrocuted the Saiyan throughout the process.
"He's succeeding where others have failed!" Cried out the wizard that had previously warned Gohan not to interfere. "What manner of powers does he control?" he wondered with intrigue as the barrier was increasingly weakened by the strange technique of the adolescent stranger.
"Such tenacity!"
"How's he doing that!?"
Soon, an opening was forcibly carved through the ethereal energy as it rippled apart, prompting Gohan to urgently shout, "It's open! You can come on out now!"
But the maiden was too afraid to move as she watched the rippling energy electrifying Gohan in the process. She struggled to speak, unable to voice her concerns as she watched the violent energy threatening to kill the man that was trying so desperately to save her.
Seeing how she refused to move from her spot, Gohan glared daggers at the maiden with an unexplainable fury as he shouted, "AARHH! HURRYYYY! GET OUT OF THEREEE! DO IT NOWWWWW!"
Fearing the fierce expression on Gohan's face, the maiden wasted no time and hastily made her escape with tears in her eyes just as the barrier collapsed with a resounding release of energy that rippled into the air, pushing her onto Gohan as they collapsed onto the hard pavement. Gohan's persistent effort had succeeded, and a collective cheer erupted from the onlookers, their apprehension now replaced with relief and jubilation.
The fair maiden who was valiantly saved fearfully rested her head on Gohan's chest before raising her head so that her eyes can meet the eyes of her savior, only for her to realize he wasn't conscious.
"Oh no!" She cried out in terror. "He's dead!"

Slowly prying open his eyes, Gohan found himself laying on the ground yet resting somewhere under the shade of an unfamiliar building, his head cushioned by a soft surface. His gaze met the eyes of an adorable feline figure, who he thought was a girl, though Gohan sensed something unusual in her demeanor, a specific feline dialect affecting the way she spoke. She exchanged a concerned glance with the equally concerned Reinhard, Ferris' feline features showing a mix of emotions.
"There's nothing I can do for him, Reinhard. I fear this man's gate suffered permanent damage in the course of his valiant rescue," Ferris purred, his eyes reflecting a conflicted swirl of emotions. "The strange mana barrier destroyed his gate, yet, at the very least, his life remains intact."
"It's a humbling shame, Ferris," Said Reinhard with a solemn bow of his head. "that man would've become a great knight of valor had he considered my offer."
Gohan groaned softly before interjecting, "What on Earth are you talking about?"
"Oh?" Ferris and Reinhard turned their attention toward the newly roused Son Gohan, who found his head resting upon Puck's lap, the tiny spirit having taken on a human-like bipedal form. Emilia lingered nearby, her presence casting a soothing aura.
"Meow, You're finally awake," Ferris chimed with a playful tone as he locked eyes with Gohan. "I've heard you've got quite a knack for causing a stir – you managed to send a great spirit crashing into a building, and you gallantly rescued not one, but two lovely ladies, all in just one day. Makes me wonder, would you be my knight in shining armor if I ever found myself in a bit of trouble?" He finished his question with a purr and a wink.
Gohan's response came out a bit bewildered, his cheeks flushing with a mix of surprise and shyness. "Huh?... Uh, well..."
"Incredible," Ferris continued, a playful glint in his feline eyes. "You manage to become even more endearing when you're flustered."
"And don't forget," Reinhard joined in, his voice light-hearted, "one of those ladies is an unlearned novice from the famous mercenary group, the Iron Fang. So you've gained favor from the Hoshin family." Stepping aside, he revealed an attractive young woman seated at a table from across the room, her gaze fixed on them with curiosity as she delicately sipped her tea.
The woman, known as Anastasia Hoshin, regarded Gohan with a sympathetic look, as though he were a soldier who had lost limbs in battle, rendering him unable to function. "What's your name, young sir?"
"I'm Gohan."
"My condolences for your loss."
"My loss?" Gohan raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"Nevertheless, I'm immensely grateful for your role in saving one of my servants from danger," the woman continued. "I summoned the best healer available, but it seems our efforts fell short. I know it may not be the ideal solution, but please accept monetary compensation for your assistance."
"I'm not quite following," Gohan muttered, his curiosity unsatisfied.
Ferris smirked. "Oh look, he's even adorable when he's perplexed," Ferris chimed in jovially, much to Gohan's nervous discomfort.
"That's enough teasing," Emilia interjected sternly, her words swift. "I'd like to have a discussion with this man."
"Certainly, Miss Emilia." Responded Ferris as he modestly arose and stepped away from Gohan's resting form, Gohan's head still resting on Puck's lap.
Now standing next to Gohan, Emilia looked at him with concern, "How did you run- I mean, how did you jump into the sky?"
In a bid to raise his head, Gohan's movement abruptly halted as he realized his arms and legs were ensnared by curious metal cuffs, each appendage encircled by its own metallic restraint. A complex network of chains connected these restraints, creating an intricate web of confinement. Furthermore, a curious metal collar adorned his neck, its purpose unknown but unmistakably restrictive.
"What's going on? What are these?" Asked Gohan, concern evident in his expression as he glanced between each of them. He briefly rolled on the ground, clumsily trying to stand up to no avail.
"My apologies," Said Reinhard with genuine sincerity. "But precautions were made to ensure you wouldn't be able to use magic in case you attempt to escape, however as you've heard, your gate was destroyed so the restraints are quite unnecessary."
"My gate?" Asked Gohan once he stopped in place to look up at Reinhard's face. "What do you mean?"
Hunching down to Gohan's level, Reinhard Explained, "What I mean is that you'll never be able to use that strange magic ever again."
"I highly doubt that." Replied Gohan much to Reinhard's confusion, before glancing at his restraints. "Since you put in the effort to restrict my movements, does this mean I'm in trouble?"
"You can set your worries aside," Reinhard assured sincerely. "Lady Emilia has ensured that you won't be held responsible for any damages to the city."
"Really?" Gohan's curiosity sparked as he shifted on the ground to meet Emilia's concerned gaze. "What led you to do that?"
"Puck vouched for your pure heart," Emilia explained, her eyes glancing toward Puck's mischievous feline grin. "In all my time with him, he's never vouched for anyone like this. It seems he truly believes you're quite an exceptional individual."
Gohan's realization struck him, drawing a parallel with the flying nimbus's requirement for a pure heart. His gaze shifted to Puck, his gratitude evident. "I'm truly humbled. Thank you."
Puck winked in response. "Have I finally gotten through to you? No worries, pal."
Ferris chimed in with his signature playful tone, "I can imagine that lying on the ground isn't the most comfortable situation for you. How about we get you out of those restraints and- Oh, hold on a moment. Did I just misplace the keys?"
Gohan responded confidently, "No need to worry. I can break free by myself."
Ferris countered with assurance, "I hate to disappoint, but relying solely on your muscles won't release you from this predicament."
In response to this, Gohan tried breaking free without using Ki and was pleasantly surprised to find that his physical strength was being tested.
"Grr!" Gohan grunted as he tried again and then stopped when little progress was made. "Wow! You weren't kidding! What is this metal made of?"
Ferris wore a self-satisfied smirk. "These restraints were designed by dwarves, with the intention to halt and immobilize the mightiest of beings—mightier than beastmen capable of uprooting massive trees from the Earth. So settle down and practice some patience while I locate the-"
Ferris was interrupted as a sudden bright wave of energy shrouded Gohan's form, causing everyone to stand back in awe.
"If strength alone won't help," Said Gohan as he watched the metal restraints cracking under the pressure of his tensing muscles, "Then I'll just have to use my power!"
"!" Reinhard and Miss Hoshin watched with interest while everyone else seemed astonished.
"How in the world... ?" Wondered Ferris in bewilderment. "Considering your damaged gate, this shouldn't even be possible." And with a concerned gaze he cried out, "Stop doing that! It will cause a toll on your body!"
Gohan replied with a lighthearted tone, a grin playing on his lips, "Really? And who decided that?" With a final exertion of force, the metal restraints shattered, and Gohan's arms and legs were freed from their uncomfortable confinement. Upon standing up, he removed the collar from his neck, allowing the destroyed metal restraints to clatter to the ground. As the tension left his muscles, the light from his energy dimmed down.
"H-How did you manage that?" Asked Emilia in amazement. "You shouldn't be able to use magic with those restraints on, especially with a destroyed Gate!"
Reinhard joined in the contemplation, his voice laced with curiosity. "He's neither a spirit user nor a conventional mage. So this narrows it down to being an enigma."
Anastasia Hoshin remained silent, her expression now acknowledging Gohan's potential usefulness once more. Her thoughts sifted through many ideas of how she could employ Gohan in her camp.
Gohan met Emilia's gaze, his tone resolute, "Let's clarify things. What I just did wasn't magic."
"It wasn't?" Asked Emilia in confusion. The others were equally intrigued by this declaration.
Gohan looked at Emilia with an innocent 'Son' expression, ready to address her question. "It's not magic," he began, his voice steady and earnest. "The energy I'm using is called Ki. It's an energy that exists within all living beings, and I've been taught to harness and control it. It's very different from the mana you're familiar with."
[For foreign language readers, the English word "Key" sounds similar to the different word "KI"]
"A key?" Asked Emilia in naivety. "Like an item that allows you the ability to unlock a closed gate?"
Gohan shook his head to issue a correction. "No, not a key. I meant an energy source called KI."
Emilia's eyes widened in realization, her curiosity piqued. "Ki energy? I've never heard of that before."
Gohan nodded. "It's not uncommon where I come from. I've been trained in various fighting arts that utilize Ki to enhance physical abilities and perform extraordinary feats. That's how I was able to jump into the sky and break free from those tough restraints."
Ferris, who had been observing the conversation with a mix of interest and curiosity, chimed in. "So, Ki allows you to perform feats beyond the ordinary capabilities of a normal man?"
Gohan nodded again. "Exactly. It's a form of energy that's both internal and external. I can focus to enhance my physical abilities for offensive and defensive purposes. But it's not without its limitations and risks. If I push myself too far, I can become exhausted and leave myself vulnerable."
Miss Hoshin, who had remained relatively quiet during the explanation, spoke up. "It sounds quite similar to mana, this Ki. A power that comes from within and can be harnessed for extraordinary feats."
Gohan smiled, appreciating the genuine interest from the group. "It may sound similar but they are not the same. In a way, Ki should be inferior to mana, as I believe it is less versatile than magic."
Ferris raised a concerned brow. "Yet with this inferior power that you described, you still managed to punch a great spirit into a building?"
Puck frowned as his bipedal form diminished until he returned to his small endearing appearance, "Can we stop talking about that, please?"
"Right," Responded Gohan nervously, "that's because where I'm from, I... how do I say it, I'm not normal."
Emilia tilted her head slightly. "Not normal? Well, it would certainly explain how you jumped into the sky."
"Anyways," Continued Gohan with a pause, "now that the initial confusion is over, where am I?"
Stepping closer, Emilia's voice held a serious tone as she addressed Gohan, "You're inside the knight barracks. We brought you here to question you regarding the thief that you allowed to evade capture."
Gohan's expression shifted to one of contrition, "Oh... I apologize for getting in your way."
Emilia's demeanor softened a hint of understanding in her eyes, "While I appreciate your apology, the situation is more complex. The stolen item holds great significance for me."
Gohan nodded, absorbing the weight of her words, "I understand, so what exactly was stolen from you?"
Emilia's gaze intensified as she responded, "I'll get to that shortly, but first, why did you choose to flee—or rather, why did you launch yourself into the sky like that?"
Gohan hesitated momentarily, his voice carrying a hint of uncertainty, "I don't know."
"You swore that you would make amends, yet you fled from Reinhard when he questioned you." Emilia pointed out, her eyes searching his.
Gohan's gaze shifted, his expression contemplative, "Listen, right before I was sidetracked by helping that stranger escape a strange magical trap, I was in the process of searching for your thief."
"You know how to find her?" Asked Emilia as she leaned closer to Gohan, eliciting a raised brow from Puck and a nervous expression from Gohan.
Gohan responded as he stepped back, "I don't know where she's going, but if I can remember what her energy signature feels like, then I can locate her."
Once more, Emilia leaned in closer, much to Gohan's embarrassment when her face was in front of his, her curiosity deepening as her eyes searched his for answers, "And you can sense her right now?"
Stepping back once more, Gohan affirmed, "No, not really. But if I can get close enough, then I should be able to locate her. However, despite this," Gohan's focus shifted to Puck as he continued, "I can't sense any energy from your companion."
Puck, who had been listening attentively, responded with intrigue, "What does that imply?"
Gohan elaborated, addressing the great spirit, "It could mean a few things. A being without a Ki signature might be a divine entity separate from mortals," Puck nodded, urging Gohan to continue. "Or it could indicate that the person is either deceased, deliberately concealing their power, or is without much strength."
"And what if the thief can intentionally conceal her Ki signature from you?" Puck inquired.
Gohan considered the question, his expression thoughtful, "Hiding one's Ki isn't easy. It's a skill that takes practice. While someone can hide their Ki and still be powerful, it's like suppressing oneself to exhibit restraint. Given how nobody in this city understands this, I wouldn't worry."
Emilia absorbed this information, nodding in acknowledgment, "Do you truly believe that you can detect the thief by feeling her energy?"
Gohan met Emilia's gaze with determination, "If she's still in the city, then I'm confident that I can locate her. Although, I initially hesitated to help you because tracking someone's energy in a bustling city can be challenging, particularly if the person doesn't radiate strong power."
"So then," Ferris chimed in. "Can you sense my energy?"
Turning to face Ferris, Gohan responded, "I can sense the energy of everyone in this room, well, except for, um... Emilia's cat companion. Otherwise, some of you are above average, making it easy for me to find you, even if you went into hiding."
"That sounds quite useful." Said Reinhard with a nod. "The ability to track down criminals and to always be aware of your comrades is a beneficial skill to have."
"Or it might earn you the title of a persistent stalker," Ferris added with a mischievous look in his feline eyes, causing Gohan to tilt his head back in confusion.
"We should get moving!" Emilia exclaimed, taking Gohan's hand and leading him toward the room's exit. "If the thief is still in the Capital, there's a chance we can still catch her!"
"Whoa, slow down!" Gohan protested, a concerned expression on his face as Emilia guided him through the building's hallways. "You've got quite the grip there!"
Miss Hoshin stood up from her seat in concern, "Wait! How will I repay him if he vanishes?"
Ferris glanced over and shrugged in dismay.
As Gohan and Emilia maneuvered past the knights and soldiers in the corridors, Puck leisurely followed the pair, floating in midair just behind them.
Finally, as two soldiers shut the massive doors behind them, both halfbreeds found themselves standing outside the knight barracks, facing the bustling Capital once more.
Once Puck rested on Emilia's shoulder she turned her expectant gaze toward Gohan, her anticipation noticeable as she asked with haste, "Well, what's your plan?"
Gohan rubbed the back of his head, carefully considering his words. "As I mentioned earlier, I don't have the thief's precise location. Given the populated nature of this city, my best bet is to get closer to her general area and rely on sensing her unique energy."
Emilia's forehead creased with confusion, "What do you mean?"
Gohan elaborated, his tone focused. "I mean, every individual emits a distinct Ki signature. From my perspective, it's like trying to pick out one grain of sand based on how it feels under my fingers. Amidst the pool of energies in this city, I'll have to focus and identify the right 'grain' that belongs to our thief."
Emilia's features softened with comprehension, "That sounds tedious."
"With that being said," Gohan continued with newfound confidence, "Let's head back to where we first encountered each other, and from there, I'll do my best to recall the sensation of the thief's energy and see if I can find her."
"Absolutely!" Emilia replied, her smile indicating that her determination was rekindled. "We should move as swiftly as possible."
"Agreed," Gohan nodded.
However, as they began to walk, an awkward pause settled between them before they stopped in place to stare at each other.
"What's the matter?" Gohan finally broke the silence, his gaze meeting Emilia's with confusion.
Emilia returned his gaze, equally puzzled. "Whatever do you mean? Why is it that you stand in idleness?"
Gohan chuckled nervously, scratching his head. "Well, it appears I'm not familiar with this part of the city as I've never really been to this place before."
Emilia's cheeks tinted pink. "Actually, this is my first time navigating the Royal Capital too. So, it seems we're both a bit lost."
Puck couldn't help but burst into laughter, his tiny form shaking with amusement. "You two are quite the dysfunctional duo! Hahaha!"
With newfound camaraderie, Gohan and Emilia exchanged sheepish smiles before resuming their journey, determined to find their way to their starting point and begin their quest to locate the mischievous thief. Gohan could help but wonder if he forgot something important. Something massive and white with a long horn but he couldn't recall what he was thinking about.

"-and with Reinhard by my side, we successfully reunited the lost child with her parents," Emilia narrated with a cheerful lilt in her voice. The rhythmic tap of their footsteps echoed as they traversed a picturesque bridge, Gohan leading the way, the gentle current of the river below adding to the serene ambiance.
Gohan's response resonated with her buoyant mood. "That's a relief! I shudder to imagine the potential outcome if you and Reinhard hadn't intervened."
Soon their synchronized steps abruptly ceased, causing Emilia to halt beside Gohan, her expression marked with concern, she asked, "Does something concern you?"
Gohan's gaze sharpened as it fixated on a specific direction, his concentration evident. "I believe I'm detecting the unmistakable energy of the thief. It's coming from that direction." His finger extended toward the horizon, where the sun would eventually dip beneath the mountains of the populated Capital in several hours.
"Is she making her way to the slums?" Emilia's brows knitted in puzzlement. "Are you certain that's the path her energy trails?"
Gohan clarified, his voice tinged with experience. "She's not leaving a trail, she's emitting a distinct ki signature different from everyone else's."
Emilia shifted her stance, placing herself before Gohan, her eyes ignited with urgency. "Then we must hasten our pace!" Her declaration was fervent, but Gohan's raised hand tempered her eagerness.
"However, she's quite a considerable distance away." Said Gohan with certainty.
Emilia's brows furrowed in contemplation. "How far?"
"She's quite a distance off," Gohan confirmed with a nod.
Immediately, Puck manifested before Gohan, his minuscule paw tenderly resting on the Saiyan's forehead, prompting a puzzled expression from him.
"Um?" Gohan mumbled in bewilderment.
"He's speaking the truth," Puck declared with a nod and unwavering assurance. "I detect no dissonance or falsehood in his words."
"Now, considering that," Gohan resumed once his bewilderment had subsided, "I could easily catch up to the thief if you permit me to head there first."
"But then I'd lose sight of you," Emilia countered, her concern deepening as Puck returned to her side.
"It's nothing to worry about," Gohan reassured, a confident smile gracing his features. "Your unique energy signature is distinct and above average in strength, making it effortless for me to find you again."
Emilia's cheeks flushed red in embarrassment upon remembering Ferris' comments regarding Gohan's ability to be a potential stalker. "I must admit, the thought of a stranger capable of locating me based on my energy is unsettling."
"What do you mean?" Gohan uttered with thoughtful curiosity. He mused aloud, "Is that a concern that's more common among young women?"
Strangely, she took offense to that question. Emilia's eyes widened in surprise and her hands found their place on her hips as she retorted, "Excuse me!?"
"Ah, no, it's nothing!" Gohan backpedaled hastily. "I think I'll just head out now." And without further ado, he bolted in the direction where he sensed the thief's energy, quickly leaving Emilia behind.
"G-Goh-Wait!" Emilia called after him, her voice filled with urgency, but Gohan's Saiyan speed made it impossible for her to catch up to him.
The world around Gohan blurred into a streak of motion as he deftly navigated through the bustling streets and rooftops of the Capital. To curious onlookers, he appeared as a fleeting shadow, a presence that materialized and vanished with an enigmatic grace, leaving no trace of his passage.
[X]
The evasive thief known as Felt, the girl responsible for the theft of the silver-haired woman's insignia, walked beneath the sheltering canopy of a tree. Felt moved with confidence as she traversed the much quieter streets of the Capital bordering the slums. Her stride was purposeful as she contemplated the events of the day, her destination — home — now just within reach.
"Today's been great so far." She mused in contemplation as she eyed the loot pouch in hand. "Hopefully this trinket is our ticket out of that forsaken slum."
Raising her gaze, Felt abruptly halted her stride as her eyes locked onto a figure standing directly across from her path. It was none other than Son Gohan, his expression an inscrutable mask as he regarded her presence.
Felt's breath caught in her throat as recognition dawned upon her; she had encountered him earlier that day. "You!" she exclaimed, her voice betraying a mixture of surprise and wariness.
Something was new about him when she observed him. The man's white gloves were missing and his long sleeves were in tatters. Felt was unaware of how that happened, therefore she was left with the assumption that the muscular stranger had fought against the magical silver-haired woman in the alley.
"You lied to me," Gohan's expression remained unmoved, his words a calm assertion.
Her heart raced within her chest and Felt instinctively unsheathed her dagger, readying herself for a potential confrontation. "Suck it up, creep!" Her retort was laced with a stern rebuke. "Now get out of my way before-"
A sudden realization hit her when her blade vanished from her grasp. Then her gaze shifted to Gohan who still didn't move from his spot, however he now held her weapon. She watched him briefly examining the blade before tossing it to the ground where it clattered loudly.
"What just-" Felt was briefly astonished as she contemplated what had just happened. But once she regained her composure, she swiftly pivoted to her left to flee. Yet, her path was obstructed by Gohan once again.
"How?!" Her voice held a mixture of disbelief as she glanced back at where he previously stood.
Casually approaching, Gohan extended his hand in a calm gesture of non-aggression. "I bear no grudge against you. Simply surrender the stolen insignia, and we can put this behind us." His voice carried a composed reassurance.
Nervously, Felt edged backward, her eyes wide with a mix of astonishment and wariness. "A-are you a knight?" Her voice wavered as she spoke, captivated by his powerful yet gentle presence.
Shaking his head subtly, the Saiyan closed the distance between them. Now standing taller than her, he awaited her response, anticipating the end of their encounter as he hoped she would hand over the trinket. However, his expectation was shattered when she shifted her stance and unleashed a forceful kick towards his midsection.
Without missing a beat, Gohan effortlessly caught her kick with a single hand. Her attack stirred up dust in the vicinity, which hung momentarily in the air before gradually dispersing, carried away by a gentle breeze.
Gohan's lips curved into a warm smile, admiration shining in his eyes. "Impressive! Your form is solid, and that kick of yours carries a lot of power. It's evident that your confidence isn't just for show – I bet no one dares to mess with you."
Felt's eyes widened as her face flushed red in embarrassment, visibly caught off guard by Gohan's unexpected praise. Now regaining her composure, she struggled to free her foot from his grasp.
"Let go of me!" she protested, her voice a mix of frustration and annoyance.
Gohan complied, releasing her kick gently and watching her regain her footing. "Alright, alright," he conceded with a chuckle. "I'm not here to bully you."
Still cautious, Felt narrowed her eyes at him. "Then what are you here for?"
"I already told you," Gohan replied, his tone earnest. "I'm here for that stolen insignia."
Felt hesitated, uncertainty flickering in her gaze. "Why do you care so much about that trinket?"
His tone turned more serious, reflecting the gravity of his words. "Because you deceived me into causing harm, and now it's my responsibility to right that wrong and return what was wrongfully taken."
Frowning, Felt retorted, "Well, Mr. Nice Guy, what's stopping me from just stealing it again?"
"If you attempt to steal it again, I'll be there to thwart your efforts," Gohan's voice resounded with unwavering conviction as he heroicly glanced towards the sky, his balwed fists confidently resting on his hips. "Underestimate not my dedication to upholding justice."
Felt tilted her head back and grimaced, "You sound ridiculous."
Recoiling back, Gohan looked at her and rebuked, "Come on. I thought that was pretty good."
Remembering how the man in front of her had so easily fallen for her lie, Felt's attention shifted to two armored knights who were patrolling nearby. An idea formed in her mind, and she smirked in anticipation.
Gohan raised a concerned brow as he watched Felt feign an expression of fear once more.
"Hey, that's not gonna work on me again-"
"Help!" She cried out as she pointed an accusing finger at the Saiyan. "This man's trying to abduct me!"
"!" Gohan tilted his head in confusion. "What are you doing?"
The two knights glanced over in their direction, looking over the quarrel with concerned gazes. Immediately, they unsheathed their blades upon comprehending the situation.
"The bastard!"
"I shall smite him where he stands!"
Gohan's shoulders tensed as he looked in their direction, his disbelief mirrored in his widened eyes. "Wait, I would never do such a thing!" he exclaimed, his voice tinged with innocence as he waved his hands in a nonthreatening manner.
But the knights were already advancing towards him, their expressions furious and ready for confrontation. Grinning, Felt pivoted in her step and bolted from the scene. With her divine blessing fueling her being, she ran with incredible speed, the wind guiding her each step of the way.
Gohan's head dropped slightly, a resigned sigh escaping his lips. "I hope I can come up with a convincing explanation for Reinhard," he muttered to himself. In an instant, he vanished from his original position, reappearing with a seamless grace behind the advancing knights.
"What the-"
"Where did-"
Their bewilderment hung in the air for a fleeting moment before their consciousness succumbed to an unforeseen force, and they slumped into unconsciousness.
"I'm sorry," Gohan's voice carried a solemn tone as he regarded the fallen knights. "but you'll wake up in a few minutes." Immediately, his attention shifted to more urgent matters, tracking the fleeing energy signature that belonged to Felt. He set his course after her, determined to retrieve what had been taken.
Felt's feet pounded against the ground as she sprinted, her breath coming in ragged gasps. Her heart raced, matching the rhythm of her steps. Her escape was her sole focus until she caught sight of Gohan descending from the sky. He landed before her, a superheroic posture met with a resounding thud that shattered the pavement underneath his boots.
Startled, she stopped abruptly, her gaze meeting his with a mixture of surprise and apprehension. Gohan rose from his landing, his expression a complex blend of annoyance and disappointment.
"I extended kindness to you," Gohan's voice began with a calm edge, his words carrying a weight of reproach. Soon his calm facade quickly shattered, giving way to anger. "And this is how you repay me!?"
Felt involuntarily recoiled, her fear evident as she stammered, "I-I'm sorry! I'll give back what you want!"
"Hn! Good." Gohan's response was terse, his eyes fixed on her as he awaited her compliance.
With a swift movement, Felt reached into her loot pouch and retrieved what Gohan recognized as the insignia. As she held the object in her hand, a soft, ethereal light radiated from it, casting an otherworldly glow. Gohan's gaze was drawn to the shimmering illumination, his expression a mix of wonder and intrigue, though the true meaning behind the phenomenon was a mystery to him.
"So it's just some fancy jewelry?" Gohan wondered aloud with a naive expression coloring his visage.
Still determined to proceed with her escape plan, Felt subtly shifted her stance, preparing to launch the insignia as far away as possible. However, in a blink of an eye, Gohan materialized next to her, his grip closing around her wrist with a firm, yet gentle strength that caught her off guard.
Their eyes locked, a clash of frustration sparking between them. Gohan's voice was unwavering as he regarded her. "I won't let you toss it away," he stated firmly. "This belongs to someone else, and it's my responsibility to return it to them."
Felt's heart raced, torn between her urge to break free and the recognition of the futility of her resistance. "Let me go!" She protested, her voice a mix of defiance and frustration as she attempted to wrest her arm from his grasp.
Gohan's tone grew colder, his patience wearing thin. "Listen, I'm done playing nice," he rebuked sharply, his grip remaining unyielding despite her struggles. "If I have to, I'll escort you to the authorities."
Her defiance softened into reluctant acceptance as the weight of his words settled in. With a sigh, Felt finally loosened her grip on the insignia, allowing it to slip from her fingers and into Gohan's awaiting hand.
As the insignia made contact with Gohan's palm, a radiant red light emitted from the gem on the dragon crest. However, there was a marked difference – the light was significantly brighter than before, bathing both of them in its intense glow.
Gohan's brow furrowed in bewilderment, his gaze shifting from the insignia to Felt. "Why does it do that?" he pondered aloud, his curiosity piqued.
Felt's response was a frustrated shrug. "How should I know?" she retorted, her irritation evident. "Just let me go already!"
Then, in a sudden and dazzling display, the luminescent insignia cradled in Gohan's palm erupted with a burst of radiant energy, casting a brilliant beam skyward.
Startled by the unforeseen spectacle, Gohan released his hold on Felt's wrist, allowing her to stumble and sprawl onto the ground, her eyes wide in astonishment as she looked up at the red skyscraping beam of light. Simultaneously, Gohan's grip faltered in sheer bewilderment, causing the emblem to slip from his grasp and fall onto the cobblestone street. The once-quiet thoroughfare, sparsely populated by the occasional passerby, was now transformed into a theater of wonder as the luminous crimson column of light reached toward the heavens.
Windows flew open, and pedestrians halted their activities, their attention drawn upward by the radiant anomaly. Murmurs of confusion filled the air as the populace struggled to comprehend the inexplicable occurrence unfolding before them.
"What manner of sorcery is this?"
"By the gods, have you ever seen the like?"
"Is this some celestial omen?"
Even Gohan, usually composed and resolute, found himself caught in a maelstrom of uncertainty. "What on Earth is happening right now?" he muttered in awe.
Then, as if summoned by the ethereal display itself, an immense and otherworldly image began to coalesce in the sky, a grandiose apparition reminiscent of Shenron's summons.
The colossal dragon's spectral figure materialized with majestic grace, growing in size until its presence dominated the very firmament. Its gaze, radiant and all-knowing, fixed upon the bewildered Saiyan. The halo above its head seemed to dignify it's imposing presence with a holy aura.
"Welcome, Dragon Priest," its voice resonated, a harmonious blend of power and wisdom cascading through the air. Each word was like a sonic boom, causing the distant mountains to shake and the ground beneath the Capital to lose foundation. "Your noble heart has garnered great admiration. Should you prevail against the impending trials, I shall uphold our ancient covenant."
The weight of its proclamation settled upon Gohan, a mixture of confusion and terror coursing through him. As the dragon's form dissipated, it fractured into a myriad of luminous stars that streaked across the sky, casting their brilliance across the entire realm.
Now standing up from the ground, Gohan found himself immersed in a sea of curious onlookers. Intrigued and awed, the inhabitants of the Capital emerged from their homes, drawn by the spectacle that had unfolded before them. Caught off guard by this, Gohan was unaware of Felt sneakily taking hold of the insignia once more, and slowly but patiently waiting for another chance to escape.
Amidst the crowd, a frail old man, supported by his robust and youthful son, approached Gohan with a reverent yet inquisitive gaze. "Was it you?" the elder inquired, his voice carrying a mixture of wonder and reverence. "Did you summon forth the ancient Volcanica?"
All eyes converged on Gohan, an air of anticipation palpable in the atmosphere. Felt, who had slipped to the periphery of the gathering, tried her best to melt into the background, an invisible observer of the unfolding inquiry.
"I don't know what's going on," Gohan's voice held a genuine note of perplexity. His gaze shifted between the elderly man's inquisitive countenance and the empty sky. "It all began when either I or this young girl," he nodded toward Felt, who flinched at the sudden attention despite her attempts to flee, "came into contact with a badge bearing a dragon crest."
The crowd's collective gaze pivoted to Felt, their curiosity now firmly fixed upon her. The weight of their scrutiny caused her to shrink inward, a delicate figure at the center of an unfolding mystery.
"I-d I don't know what he's talking about!" Felt stammered, her voice a mix of unease as she averted her gaze from the prying eyes. In a swift motion, she discreetly slipped the insignia into a concealed pouch, her fingers trembling with anxiety as she hoped Gohan wouldn't notice her actions.
"What does all of this mean?" Asked Gohan, his tone tinged with uncertainty. "And who was that dragon talking to?"
As Gohan voiced his questions, the crowd's murmur of speculation swelled into a symphony of theories. Whispers and conjectures intertwined, weaving a tapestry of superstition and folkloric tales. The enigmatic circumstances of the dragon's appearance had ignited the fervor of curiosity and imagination among the onlookers.
"That was the holy image of Volcanica, and it was speaking to him!"
"Could this young man be the reincarnation of the Lugnica Bloodline?"
"But the Lugnica bloodline is marked by Golden hair and crimson eyes."
'Golden hair...? I don't have time for this!' Gohan thought in annoyance. 'I must avoid going Super Saiyan in this world or else people will start believing those ridiculous rumors.'
The crowd's collective attention shifted between Gohan and Felt, drawing parallels between the enigma of the dragon's message and the appearance of the two strangers before them. The gaze that fell upon Felt was laden with suspicion and intrigue, her resemblance to the fabled Lugnica Bloodline both compelling and confounding.
"What if she Summoned Volcanica's holy image?"
"Perhaps, she does fit the description of the royal bloodline," someone remarked in hushed awe.
A wave of realization swept through the crowd as they recognized Felt's features aligned with the legendary markers. Yet, the incongruity of her background and the descriptions of the Lugnica Bloodline stirred skepticism.
"It can't be her," a skeptical voice interjected. "She may resemble the Lugnica Bloodline, but she seems to be nothing more than an unlearned peasant from the slums."
"Appearances can be deceiving," another countered curiosity overriding doubt.
Gohan watched the unfolding discourse with a mix of dread and concern, fully aware of the weight of speculation now upon Felt.
Then suddenly, his shoulders tensed as an all-too-familiar energy signature surged at the fringes of the nearby mountains, hurtling toward them with immense speed. Realization struck him like a thunderbolt, his thoughts racing to keep pace with the impending crisis.
"The white creature followed me here?" Gohan's astonishment and concern mingled audibly in his words, drawing puzzled glances from the gathered onlookers.
"What white creature?" inquired a random child, their innocent curiosity cutting through the mounting tension.
"Look!" A terrified voice rang out, shattering the air with fear. "The white whale emerges from beyond the mountains!"
Gasps and cries of alarm filled the air as all eyes turned skyward, fixating on the ethereal and dread-inducing form of the white whale soaring ominously toward them. This time, it defied its nature, discarding the shroud of fog that typically concealed it and veering from its customary tactics. Rationality seemed to have abandoned the creature as it charged forward, devoid of its usual subtlety.
Although she was terrified, Felt used this distraction to her advantage, stealthily fleeing the scene while everyone focused on the white whale's impending approach.
Gohan's initial confusion morphed into steely determination, his brows furrowing as he tracked the monstrous creature's descent. With an unwavering resolve, he declared, "Everyone! Retreat to your homes! Find somewhere safe to hide!"
Spectators exchanged uneasy glances, the weight of the impending danger settling upon them. Doubt lingered in the air until Gohan repeated himself with a Ki infused shout, "Didn't you hear me!? FIND SOMEWHERE TO HIDE!"
The urgency and authority in Gohan's voice triggered a shift in the crowd. While hesitation still lingered in some, the majority dispersed, seeking refuge in their homes or any place they deemed safe. The resounding voice of the Saiyain, including the fear of the rapidly approaching white whale spurred them into action, the instinct for self-preservation overriding their doubts.
As the bystanders scattered in search of shelter, Gohan's attention remained fixed on the white whale's massive form casting an ominous shadow over the landscape. Now with newfound privacy, Gohan's movements became a blur of motion as he navigated the labyrinthine streets and rooftops of the Capital. Simultaneously, his vigilant gaze tracked the white whale's descent, foreboding dread clutching at his heart as the creature's lower jaw collided with buildings, inciting devastation and chaos. Debris now filled the air and bodies were flung about randomly, the peace of the city now torn asunder.
"NO!" The sight of innocent lives being snuffed out was the final straw that shattered any hesitation within him.
Anger ignited within him, and with white-hot energy enveloping him, he streaked through the sky like a celestial comet. Immediately, his punch landed with a formidable impact, striking the massive creature's head squarely. Shockwaves rippled through the air, the force of the blow causing the white whale to recoil and hurtle skyward, its form nearly swallowed by the vast expanse of clouds above.
Watching its form disappear into the sky, Gohan muttered, "The pain of that hit should be enough to scare away that animal," Now that his back was turned to the seemingly defeated creature, Gohan descended to a secluded area. Upon landing, his instincts pulsed with a warning, causing him to halt abruptly. Somehow the creature's energy was rapidly approaching him again.
"What is wrong with that thing!?" Gohan questioned aloud, his gaze snapping toward the approaching threat in the vast sky.
Descending with alarming velocity, the White Whale's colossal form displaced the clouds as its gaping maw yawned wide. The intention was to Kamikazi into the Earth and swallow the Saiyan where he stood, however, the creature slowed down before spewing forth a torrent of fog, ominous and foreboding as it came closer.
Unfazed by the threat of the fog, Gohan's energy flared to life as he powered up. Then with one hand, he sent forth a Kiai wave that violently displaced the air, dispersing the fog with relative ease, however the force of the Kiai wave was unrelenting until it collided with the Whale's face in a violent force that disoriented it greatly.
The creature was now in a free fall, but before it could crash face first into the populated Capital streets, Gohan materialized behind the creature's extended tail fin and gripped it strongly. Muscles infused with power, Gohan pulled the heavy white mass skyward with an intense force that could uproot a mountain from its Earthly foundations. Once he soared high enough into the sky, he set the beast into a frenzied spin, generating a vortex of force that swept across the Capital like a windy storm. The unleashed power roared like a tempest, the very sky shouted in terror as if it were filled with many Aerial bombers.
With a final exertion of strength, Gohan released his hold, propelling the white whale across the horizon in a display of incomprehensible might. The awe-inspiring sight left even the elements trembling, the force of the throw echoed across the atmosphere as the white creature disappeared into the embrace of the rising moon.
Gohan's gaze remained fixed on the distant horizon, his chest heaving as he hovered in the sky above the Capital. The silence that followed was heavy, fraught with uncertainty. "Was that innocent animal attracted by that insignia I touched?" Gohan pondered aloud, his naive voice carrying the weight of his confusion. "Or did I unintentionally lure that creature here for its revenge?"
Sensing Emilia's ki signature nearby, Gohan's attention shifted in her direction. He spotted her standing among the confused inhabitants scanning the skies in curiosity. They were likely aware of the dragon image's sudden appearance, including the white whale's sudden arrival and the destruction it caused to the Capital.
"Sigh. I should get this over with. Once I return this thing, I can continue my Search for Majin Buu." He muttered, searching himself for Emilia's property only to abruptly realize. "Wait, did I even pick that thing up?"
Eyes wide in shock, his energy flared intensely before his form shot across the sky to seek Felt's Ki signature once more.

Within the slums, Felt found herself standing before the front porch of the loot house, the interplay of the rising moon and the setting sun caused an erie mood. Memory of the recent events formed goosebumps across her skin, causing her to falter and trip on the first step. With a steadying exhale, she collected herself and advanced to the front door, determination knitting her brows.
Knock, knock...
Her knuckles rapped against the door's worn surface, the sound echoing through the dimly lit alleyway. Anticipation buzzed within her chest as she silently repeated the secret password to herself, ensuring it was engraved in her memory. However, a sense of apprehension crept in as the usual response failed to echo from within the house.
Frowning, Felt raised her voice, her frustration seeping into her words. "Hey!" She knocked several more times, the rhythmic thuds punctuating the stillness. "Old Man! Are you deaf? You drilled this into me, remember?"
The door creaked open abruptly, its movement jarring against the uneasy silence. But to Felt's bewilderment, the space beyond was vacant, as though the door had always been open, a portal to emptiness.
Her heart raced, an unsettling sensation settling over her as she reached for the hilt of her sheathed blade, only to remember that the enigmatic stranger from before had disarmed her, casually tossing her weapon aside.
"Rom?" The name burst from her lips, her voice carrying a mixture of hope and concern. A desperate yearning for some form of response lingered in the air, met only with an eerie silence that seemed to mock her.
With a mixture of fear and anticipation, Felt took a deep breath and stepped across the threshold of the front door into the quiet expanse of the warehouse. The dark atmosphere was heavy with an eerie stillness, the silence was disrupted only by the echoes of her footsteps on the worn wooden floorboards. The space, once filled with various pieces of furniture and the trinkets her guardian had collected over the years, now lay in disarray as if a violent struggle had erupted within the rugged establishment.
Her heart raced as her gaze swept over the scene, her brows furrowing at the destruction that marred the space. Her eyes, sharpened by instincts honed in the slums, detected signs of a scuffle that had long since concluded.
Then, amidst the wreckage, her gaze fell upon a chilling sight. The ominous shadow of a figure loomed over Old Man Rom's seemingly lifeless form. In Rom's lifeless hands rested the hilt of a massive wooden club that was broken in half. His face, brutally bashed in as though he was beaten with his very own weapon. And underneath him was a pool of his red life essence seeping into the floorboards.
A surge of both resentment and sorrow welled up within Felt as the truth began to crystallize before her eyes. The woman she had encountered earlier, Elsa Granhiert, stood over Rom's prone body, casting a haunting silhouette against the dim lighting.
Slowly Elsa's averted her gaze from the fruits of her work to regard Felt, her hands gripping twin Kukris with a chilling readiness. Elsa's eager gaze bore into Felt with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine.
"You're a little too late, little princess," Elsa's voice sliced through the air, its frigid edge laced with a malevolent amusement that set Felt's heart racing.
Steeling herself, Felt couldn't help but question the horrifying reality before her. "Why did you kill him?" she demanded, her voice shaking with a mixture of anger and despair. "I brought the insignia just as you requested."
A sardonic smile tugged at the corners of Elsa's lips, her eyes gleaming with a disturbing delight. "Regrettably for you, my client's instructions left no room for negotiation."
Retreating a step, bitterness underscored Felt's words as she pressed on, determination mingled with her turmoil. "And what were those instructions?"
Elsa's reply was delivered with a disconcertingly detached demeanor. "It's a matter of confidentiality. However, owing to your unique circumstance, I'll share a morsel... No Royalty allowed."
In a rush, as if her life flashed before her eyes, Felt remembered how touching the insignia caused a red glow to be emitted from the jewel on the dragon crest. The memory bore newfound significance, especially because the man in green robes touched it and summoned a dragon by mistake.
As Felt processed the implication of the recent events, a burst of movement sliced through the air. Elsa surged forward with inhuman speed, her form appearing before Felt with deadly intent. Instinct and survival propelled Felt to react, and with a swift invocation of her divine blessing of wind, she managed to outmaneuver Elsa's lethal strike.
As the tension in the room escalated, Elsa regarded Felt with a hint of grudging admiration. "That was quick," she remarked, her voice tinged with surprise. "This world must truly favor you, to have blessed you with the protection of the wind."
However, Elsa's intent to attack once more was abruptly interrupted. A strong hand closed around her wrist, halting her movements with a force that she hadn't anticipated. With a mix of shock and disbelief, she turned her attention to the source of the interference.
"You're not killing anyone else today," a new voice declared, resonating with a resolute power that seemed to alter the very air around them. Gohan's furious gaze locked onto Elsa's noncaring visage, Gohan's stance exuding a steely determination that mirrored his declaration.
Elsa simply licked her lips in anticipation, "And how do you pretend to stop me?" she inquired, eager to hear his response.

Character Opinions and Concerns:
Emilia's perspective:
Puck's endorsement of Gohan's character, based on sensing his pure heart, nullifies Emilia's initial resentment against Gohan. She values Puck's judgment and takes his opinion seriously, causing her to consider Gohan positively.
Emilia is both surprised and impressed by Gohan's ability to break free from magical restraints designed to inhibit magical abilities.
As she learns more about Gohan's abilities, especially his use of Ki, Emilia becomes intrigued and confused. His explanation of Ki energy is foreign to her, and she struggles to understand how it differs from the mana-based magic she's familiar with.
Despite their initial awkwardness and unfamiliarity with the city, Emilia's interactions with Gohan lead to a growing camaraderie between them.
Emilia's thoughts and concerns:
"If Puck believes in him, then I should reconsider my initial doubts."
"He saved the lives of two people today?"
"Oh no! His Gate was destroyed!"
"His name is Gohan? That must be a foreign name."
"Ki energy? This concept sounds so unfamiliar... How does it differ from mana-based magic?"
"This man's abilities are unlike anything I've encountered before. Ki energy... I need to understand this better."
"Navigating this city with someone unfamiliar... It's a bit amusing, the awkwardness between us."
"I'm grateful for his unique skills, but I'm concerned that he may use his abilities to spy on me."

Felt's perspective:
Felt's perception of Gohan is a captivating blend of fascination, cautiousness, and moments of fearing for her life. Initially, she regards him as a conveniently foolish ally when he agrees to aid her in escaping from the clutches of the Silver-haired witch. However, her perspective of him is soon upended when he confronts her about her deception, challenging her impression of his naivety.
Through their interactions, Felt witnesses Gohan's extraordinary capabilities, from the deftness with which he catches her powerful kick to his warm admiration of her skills. This unexpected praise both catches her off guard and infuses her with a sense of modest embarrassment, altering her initial assessment of him.
Felt's street-smart instincts and rebellious nature eventually incite Gohan's anger, kindling a genuine fear for Felt's safety. Faced with the futility of escape, she begrudgingly relinquishes the stolen insignia. To her astonishment, the insignia's similar reaction upon contact with Gohan introduces a layer of uncertainty, implying a deeper connection between them.
As events unfold, Felt finds herself swept up in speculations and superstitious interpretations triggered by Volcanica's enigmatic pronouncement. The notion of a "Dragon Priest" and potential royal lineage further reshapes her understanding of Gohan's significance and her own role in the unfolding narrative.
Ultimately, Felt's perception of Gohan undergoes a profound shift as she witnesses his heroic intervention, thwarting Elsa's lethal assault. This pivotal moment not only cements Gohan's role as a protector but also engenders a lasting impact on how she will view and relate to him in the future.
Felt's thoughts and concerns:
"Great, just what I need – a naive hero. Let's see how far his 'kindness' gets him."
"So he found out about my lie, guess he's not as dumb as he looks."
"How? Of course, I should have known a guy like him would catch my kick."
"Seriously? He's complementing me? This guy is a creep!"
"Where did he come from? How does he keep finding me so easily!?"
"Okay, now he's mad. Maybe I pushed my luck too far."
"What's up with stupid badge?"
"Dragon Priest? Royal Bloodline? This is getting way more complicated than I signed up for."
"He came out of nowhere again!... Does he intend save me from Elsa?"

Wizards, Bystanders, and Knights (Trapped Iron Fang Maiden)
The bystanders initially see the situation as a desperate one, with a trapped maiden struggling in a seemingly unbreakable energy barrier. Gohan's arrival brings curiosity and skepticism. Gohan offers to help, facing more skepticism from the bystanders, including two knights. Their doubts about his abilities spark murmurs and discussions.
Gohan's engagement with the barrier draws mixed reactions. His use of Ki captivates the crowd, challenging their understanding of magic. As Gohan perseveres, reactions shift from doubt to awe as the barrier weakens. The bystanders start questioning whether or not Gohan is using magic.
With the barrier breached, relief and cheers fill the air as the maiden is freed. However, the maiden's distress over Gohan's unconscious state injects a final note of uncertainty. The bystanders' journey through skepticism, hope, amazement, and relief ends with a touch of unresolved tension.
Bystanders' Thoughts and Concerns:
Skepticism Persists:
"Well, it was a reckless move from the start."
"I knew he was in over his head."
"You can't just walk in and expect miracles."
Surprise and Hope:
"Wait, is he really...?"
"Hold on, let's not jump to conclusions."
"Maybe there's something we're missing."
Acknowledgment of Effort:
"At least he tried his best."
"He put up quite a fight, didn't he?"
"Can't deny his determination."
Contradictory Reactions:
"I thought he had it for a moment there..."
"Looks like his confidence got the best of him."
"He was so close, though."
Respect and Recognition:
"No one can deny his bravery."
"He risked everything for her."
"Even if he didn't make it, he deserves our respect."
Cautious Reflection:
"This is a reminder of the risks involved."
"Magic or not, meddling in unfamiliar arts can be dangerous."
"We should be careful about underestimating the forces at play."
Hopeful Speculation:
"Maybe he's just unconscious?"
"Is there a chance he's not gone for good?"
"Let's give it a moment, maybe something unexpected will happen."
Relief Mixed with Sadness:
"Thank goodness she's safe, but at what cost?"
"He did it, but it came at a heavy price."
"A bittersweet victory, it seems."

Reinhard's opinions:
Reinhard opinion of Gohan remains unchanged, however, it is subject to change if Reinhard learns how easily Gohan manhandled the White Whale twice in one day.
Gohan's ability to manipulate life energy regardless of having a permanently damaged gate is noteworthy, and it may cause Reinhard to consider the possibilities of using Ki, since as the sword saint, he's still unable to use his own mana.
Reinhard's thoughts and Concerns:
"Why does Lady Emilia wish to vouch for that man's innocence?"
"It seems the destruction had claimed no lives. Perhaps I should reconsider Emilia's proposal."
"Ah, he saved another soul today. And it was none other than a member of the Iron Fang."
"His gate was destroyed? To lose the ability to use magic is a heavy burden. How will he react to this? It will surely be a profound shock for him."
"So his name is Gohan... I'll remember that."
"What's his confusion in regards to his gate?"
"How is he breaking free without spirit magic or the use of his gate?"
"The use of that strange energy makes him a force to be reckoned with. He might be a useful ally if his allegiance is with us."
"It's unfortunate that he declined my offer. While his energy might not be magic, his strength and abilities could have made him a worthy addition to our ranks."
"He's open about his abilities and limitations. There's a level of sincerity in his words, which is a reassuring sign. But I'll continue to observe him closely."
[X] [X] [X]
Ferris' opinions:
Ferris doesn't have many opinions of Gohan, but as a healer, he is concerned with Gohan's permanently damaged gate and believes he will never use magic ever again.
Ferris finds Gohan to be naive and endearing.
Ferris is astonished by Gohan's ability to use life energy despite his damaged gate, and is bewildered upon learning that Gohan doesn't use mana to achieve his superhuman feats.
Ferris' thoughts and Concerns:
"Lady Hoshin wants me to save his life? It's pointless. Not even my expertise will suffice, yet she insists on paying me... Wait, he's still alive?"
"Reinhard says this man is dangerous, I should be cautious."
"Meow? Miss Emilia believes he's innocent?"
"It seems he will live, but his Gate is permanently damaged… a life without magic. It's a significant blow, one that could reshape his identity," Ferris mused, his feline features betraying a thoughtful expression. "He might never experience the beauty of it again, the intricate weaving of mana into powerful enchantments."
"Meow? He's kind of cute."
"That's a cute name, Gohan."
"Ah, he looks endearing even when facing a challenge. Those restraints are designed to halt even the mightiest of beings."
"That light he's emitting! He's breaking free from the restraints! How's he doing that with a damaged gate? That's gonna take a toll on his body!"
"Superhuman feats without mana? A completely foreign concept, yet he demonstrates it with such ease. How does his 'Ki' provide strength without mana's intricate manipulation?"
"He insists he's not using magic. Yet his explanation holds similarities to mana."
"I hope the great spirit's claims of Gohan's pure heart is true, otherwise I can't help but feel concerned for Miss Emilia's safety."
[X] [X] [X]
Anastasia's opinions:
Miss Hoshin initially sees Gohan as a good samaritan who sacrificed himself to save her servant. She is grateful and intends fully to save Gohan's life by hiring Ferris to heal him.
Miss Hoshin is relieved that Gohan will live but is disappointed to learn that he will never use magic again. But her opinion shifts once more upon learning that Gohan can still manipulate his life energy without the use of his gate. A shrewd woman with a keen eye for opportunities, Miss Hoshin's mind started churning with possibilities. Which leads her to speculate if she can employ Gohan to her cause.
Anastasia's thoughts and concerns:
"He sacrificed himself to save my servant... A true samaritan," Miss Hoshin mused, her heart swelling with gratitude as she observed Gohan's valiant act. "I must do all I can to repay his bravery."
"I shall bring Lugnica's greatest healers to tend to his wounds and save his life," she thought with conviction, her mind set on alleviating the consequences of his sacrifice. "A debt must be repaid with kindness."
Relief washed over her as news of the stranger's impending recovery reached her ears. "He'll live, that's what matters," she acknowledged, a weight lifting from her shoulders. Yet, her satisfaction was short-lived.
"His gate, irreversibly damaged... He'll never wield magic again," disappointment tinged her thoughts, a lament for a life forever altered. Since birth, she could never manipulate magic, a loss she could empathize with deeply.
But then, a twist in the narrative sparked a new train of thought. "Life energy manipulation without a gate? An unprecedented anomaly," she considered, intrigue replacing her earlier disappointment. "Can anyone harness that power?"
"Perhaps he's more than a passing hero," she speculated, her mind now ablaze with curiosity. "I could make him into an ally, an asset. His unique abilities could further our cause."

[MY COMMENT]
I do enjoy the direction of my previous story, but I believe it was mishandled due to cursing Gohan. I don't know why I kept writing the other story even though I hated doing that. While I don't intend on making Gohan a mary sue, I do intend on allowing him the ability to make mistakes that his powers alone cannot fix.
Characters like Elysia who are introduced in the previous story may still exist in this one since I intend to make a similar story but without the BS nerfing.
