Parker Ridley is a teenager with a passion for basketball and a troubled family history. Living in the small town of Tree Hill, North Carolina, Parker struggles to find his place in a world that seems to be constantly working against him. Despite his difficult upbringing, he has a natural talent for basketball that catches the attention of Duke college scouts. As he begins to make a name for himself on the court, he also catches the eye of Jennifer Jagielski, the new girl in his grade who seems to have everything going for her.
As he navigates through the challenges of high school and his complicated family dynamics, he finds solace in his friendships with the quirky but lovable Jasmine, the fiercely independent Lily, the playful but kind Jamie, and the charming but sarcastic Marcus, Jasmine's older brother. But Parker also has to contend with his bitter father, who refuses to keep him around — especially with knowing that Parker is not his biological son, and he also has to contend with his school classmate, Logan Evans, who seems to be getting in the way of all Parker's plans and relationships, including his relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Evelyn.
An Unkindness of Ravens is a heartfelt and dramatic coming-of-age story that explores themes of love, loss, and the importance of family and friendship in the face of adversity.
