In ages long past, there was once a warrior who was both noble and brave beyond all measure. His deeds of heroism and skill in combat were legend. His name was whispered within the hallowed halls of men for countless generations. Yet now his name is lost, lost in the mists of time forever. It is said that destiny delights in the misfortunes of men, and so it proved true for Belmont.
For even after defeating the Lords of Shadow and ending their reign of terror, his soul was cursed with the very darkness that he sought to destroy. For it is written that only the blood of that lineage has the power to defeat the Curse of man. But in return for their heroism, they must carry on that burden...forever. The Brotherhood of Light fought against the onslaught of the dark armies which laid waste to towns and villages across the land but to little avail.
Even Dracula him was driven mad with grief and rage over the constant cycle of resurrection, rise to power, war against humanity, his defeat and death and eventual rebirth. Raising an army of creatures beholden only to him, he struck with fury and merciless cruelty at humanity. He vowed to hunt God's children for all eternity. But fate still had one last card to play, for Dracula's only son, emerged into the world not as a man but as a creature like his father. He would be a force for good opposing his father's capacity for evil. In that very moment, Alucard swore to destroy Dracula. But fate had something else in mind.
Found and raised by the people of White Mountains, a young Belmont knew little of his lineage and had but one purpose in life to destroy Dracula for the good of the world. After years of training in the arts of war, Simon set off for Dracula's castle, and a date with destiny. Once in the castle, Belmont met Alucard, knowing full well his true identity and purpose, and joined forces with him. Blood bound them together and fate took a hand once again, as finally they met their dreaded foe in mortal combat. Belmont defeated Dracula with the fabled weapon his family, the Vampire Killer. And yet, Alucard sensed that all was not as it should be.
Dracula... would return.
Gasping highly, Luz rose and sat up from the bed she was in. Breathing heavily before calming down a little, she found herself not at home, not in the Boiling Isles, but in a hospital bed, in a gown, hooked up to some monitors. Looking around to see in a hospital room, the same hospital her mother seem to work at, Luz struggled to remember what had happened to her before. It came in glimpses at she held her head in pain, all coming back to her was the vivid memory of her attack on Emperor Belos' castle, saving Eda from execution and suffering through the most tremendous of pain she had ever felt in her life. But now that she was back in the human realm, she wondered.
"...Was it all realm...or just another dream?" She wanted to get up and out of bed, but that is when someone came up to stop her. Gentle hands took her by the arm as she looked up to meet the eyes of someone familiar, and that someone being her mother.
"Luz! Thank God, you're awake!" Camila said as she caught her child in her embrace. "When Ms. Clawthorne came to our house, carrying you while you were unconscious, I feared the worse."
"Mom...how long have I been out?" Luz asked.
Camila replied "About almost a month. We didn't think y-you'd ever wake up. It was a great relief to see that it was only a coma. But the damage done to your body, you shouldn't have even been able to move."
Looking down at herself, Luz wiggled her feet and then slowly attempted to get up from the bed. Her mother tried to stop her, but Luz raised her hands, saying that it was fine as she then began to stand on her own two feet, rather perfectly, much to the surprise of Camila, who saw her daughter was in no way handicapped or disabled. She supposed that it was to be expected, as when Luz was wheeled into an operating theatre, the doctors to see that her wounds, even the massive stab would that went through abdomen and that should've cut some vital organs, was closing up all the way through. For some, it was unethical, for others, it seemed like a miracle, only Camila knew that this was part of her husband's lineage. But still, she would've at least suspected her daughter to have some problems keeping balance, though she was relieved that wasn't the case.
Luz continued to take deep breaths, glad that she could stand and hoping her legs weren't asleep enough to keep her from walking. But then, realization hit her like lightning.
"Eda! King!" She gasped. "The Isles! I have to go ba-!"
But before she could continue, Camila caught her child in her hands, taking her by the shoulders. "Mija, easy! Let me explain...I blew up at Eda for what happened to you. She explained everything in detail of what you had gone through...to save her...and protect others...I couldn't help but lash out at her for being unable to do the same to you...but she admitted that she was wrong and was really sorry...and she and her little friend haven't left your side since."
That is when Luz's mother turned her around to show that Eda was in fact in the human world, sitting by the bed with her head resting at its edge, her wild hair looking like a silver bush. Her right arm was also resting on top of the bed, her hand looking to have been clutching something, no doubt was it Luz's own hand. The young Belmont felt the need to suddenly rub her wrist, knowing that she did feel something holding onto her for all the time she was out. Then she could see King, resting at the bed's corner, where her legs had been. All this time, for almost a month, they've been with her during recovery, not letting go.
"Eda...King..." Luz whispered.
"Security did try to escort them out after visiting hours were over, but the two refused with Eda practically defending this room, reinforcing with whatever magic she had at her disposal."
Outside the room, a doctor was coming over to check up on Luz, but upon touching the door's hand, he was blasted away by a yellow zap of electricty and crashing into something offscreen.
"I almost wanted to rip her apart for what she allowed you to be put through."
Luz turn to her mother, and with a stern voice said "It wasn't her fault."
"I know." Camilla said. "After hearing the story, I was scared to death myself. Not because of what happened to you...but because of what is happening to you."
"What do you mean?" Luz asked. "What's wrong with me."
This was a hard topic for Camilla, in more ways that one. But she couldn't turn away from her daughter, as she said "...When I married your father, he was an amnesiac, didn't even know his name, but was smart, kind, brave and more so. People always looked at me weirdly for have ever falling in love with a patient of mine, but he stood by my side...and I at his. We stood proudly, as lovers...and became a family..."
Luz just listened, her stoic expression softening as her mother's voice cracked at each line, looking to fighting back the urge to cry.
"But then...everything came apart...when I showed him that damn whip."
The girl's eyes widened when she heard that. "My whip!" She yelled out. "The Morning Star! Where did they-"
"I don't know. Eda didn't tell me." Camilla saw her daughter beginning to panic at the supposed loss of her family heirloom, and she couldn't stand it as she took Luz by the shoulders. "Luz, please! I don't want you near that thing again! And I don't want you going back to the Isles! You almost died...I don't want that happening again."
Seeing that her mother couldn't stop her tears from coming down, Luz understood why Camilla felt that way. She did promise before that once she was done with the Isles, she'd come back home. And she's going to keep that promise, because she's knew she was not done yet. Knowing what her mother needed, Luz drew her into a big hug, giving Camilla the comfort she needed in their embrace.
"I know you don't..." She said. "I wouldn't want you to worry. But I can't simply stop now, not after what has happened."
"Mija..."
"That madman who tried to kill me...he made clear his intentions. Wishing to bring our world back to the dark ages. I won't let that happen while I can still fight."
"Why does it have to be you, Luz?" Said Camilla in a breaking tone as she lets her tears fall. Luz looked at the floor for a second and said "It doesn't have to be me." She then begins to explain to her mother all that she knew. "...My father's ancestor...swore an oath. Dad's entire lineage are to continue fighting against the evil that roams the shadows of the night. It continued on...for decades, centuries even, until it all came down to Dad destroying the Prince of Darkness himself...and that's when you found each other...and had me."
Camilla listened as she shocked by her daughter's knowledge of the husband's history.
"Those whips and I...we carry on hundreds of years of tradition. Not because we have to...but because we choose to...if it was anything else, my fate would be different, but this...is my choice...I'm sorry."
And with that, the two embrace again.
"I will hold onto my promise...and put down the whip when I'm done."
As much as she would want her daughter to do that now, Camilla know it was impossible. She couldn't get against her wishes and just have to hold onto faith that her daughter will return in one piece. All she ever wanted for Luz was to have a nice, normal, peaceful life. But after that fateful night...that never seemed to be the answer. As the two continued to hug, a groaning could be heard from the other side of the bed, and they looked to see that it was Eda and King waking up drowsily.
"Ugh...wha?" said the 'Most Powerful Witch on the Boiling Isles', albeit wasn't looking as powerful now as before. Ever since exposing herself to the power of the Belmont's whip, Eda's body had weakened and her magic was nearly depleted. She could still do magic, both of Earth and of the Boiling Isles, just not as strong as before and the latter of the two took more effort. Thankfully, she had time to recover much of her physical strength after the events that accord about a month ago, but she wasn't worried about herself as much as she was for Luz, the girl she would owe everything to for saving her life. Speaking of whom, Eda's eyes widened at the sight of Luz up and about, as she straightened herself up.
"Luz...!" She gasped as before she knew it, Luz had rushed over to catch Eda in a hug, which the Owl Lady gratefully returned. "Luz, Thank God you're alright."
"I should be saying the same to you." Said the girl as she faced her mentor. "Thank you for staying by my side."
"After everything you've done for us...I'd follow you anywhere, kiddo."
"Luz!" Yelled out King, who Luz quickly caught in her arms, the two embracing happily. "You were out cold for so long, we thought you'd never wake up! Don't ever scare us like that again!"
"I promise, King. I won't." She said, to which King replied "And I promise to never let you go!" And as they broke the hug, King was still latching on tightly to his human friend. "I mean it."
Luz smiled at the little demon's antics, but then something came to her mind as she turned and faced the Owl Lady again, having a serious expression on her face.
"Eda...my whips." That alone made Eda look worrisome for her pupil, as she shook her hand and looked down.
"Luz..." She began. "I know...I just said I'd follow you anywhere. But I think you should stay here for a while. Take some time to recover."
"I'm already fine, Eda."
"Physically, yes. But mentally?" She could tell by the look of Luz's face that she hit a bit of a nerve. "Luz, I know you still want to try and take down the Emperor's Coven. I do too, especially after everything they've done. But we've all been through a lot, especially you since you've been in a coma for almost a month! It just feels like we could use a bit more time to heal...and relax."
Luz stoically replied "Unfortunately, Eda...We don't have that kind of time. Belos made clear his intentions to me. He's planning on killing all of your people, and spreading his corruptive ways to my home. I cannot let that happen and neither can you."
Eda looked at Luz, rather hopelessly as the girl continued. "There's talking me out of this...we have to stop him. After that, I'm done...I'll promise you that as well."
The Owl Lady began to avoid looking at Luz in the eye as she pondered this. She knew very well that Luz was right, there was no running from this and there was barely any time to relax. After seeing Belos mercilessly try to kill Luz, a human child, Eda felt more determined than ever to protect Luz. And after Lilith...she was just as determined to bring nothing more than despair and death to the monster the Boiling Isles blindly serves.
Sighing, she faces Luz again. "Alright, Luz. I understand...let's go to war."
Nodding at that, Luz once more turned to see Camilla, who had heard everything.
"Mom...I..."
But her mother merely puts her hand up and whimpers out "Just promise me...you'll be back home safely."
"...I will." Luz said, her heart filled with determination. (no pun intended)
Later on, when Luz was checked out of the hospital, they went to her house, where Eda brought out all of Luz's gear. Seeing that everything was as she had left it, Luz, who was now dressed in the attire she wore during her siege on Belos, was pleased and ready to go as she armed herself. But not before, going downstairs, was her adopted sister, Vee, who quickly rushed and ambushed Luz in a hug.
"Luz!" She cried out. Seeing her basilisk family member holding her tightly, she could tell that just about everyone was worried about her. This made her wonder how her friends in the Boiling Isles were holding up without her, as she returned the hug to Vee. "T-T-There was so much happening. When I saw you, I-...You're okay."
"I'm fine, Vee. Thanks." Luz said gratefully. "How are you holding up?"
"Besides the thought of permanently pretending to be you? I'm alright." She replied as Luz comforted her with another hug. "I know you and Ms. Noceda allowed me to stay here...but...I just...can't be you...all the time. I can't...hold up to-"
But Luz interrupted, saying "Vee. You don't have to just be me. You can be who and how you want to be. You and I both carry great power, great responsibility and a great legacy." As she said that, they both took out their respected whips, the Vampire Killer and the Hunter's Whip. Their crest lit up on the handles "While they've always been intertwined, but never joined. You don't have to hold up to anything." Vee couldn't stop herself from crying and embracing her...sister yet again, and Luz welcomed it fully.
"Luz..." Eda unfortunately interrupted the moment as both girls looked at the Owl Lady. "It's time."
And with, they head to the cabin in the woods, where Eda opens the portal. Luz says her farewells to her sister and mother...before stepping through...They arrive in front of the Owl House, and much to Luz' surprise, but the place looked heavily armed and protected. And that is when she looked around, realizing that the area around the dwelling looked rather different. The sand and soil beneath her feet, and trees in the forest...they were all darkened, having a sinister aura radiating around the area. And not only that, but the sky...was covered in blood red clouds, making it impossible to determine whether it was day or night.
"Quickly, Luz. Inside." Eda gestures her pupil to head for the door. "Things have changed over the month, for better and for worse."
Luz thought about what she meant by that as she walks over to the door, and was almost instantly greeted by hooty, who was looking a bit tired if anything else.
"LUZ! HOOT! HOOT! YOU'RE ALIVE! HOOT!" The House Demon happily screeched before he was suddenly gasping for air. "Hoo-! Sorry! I need some air! I've been really busy lately...trying to keep the house safe...and to...stay alive...Hoot."
"Nice to see you too, Hooty." She puts him on the head before Eda opens up the door and the two walk inside.
"Uh, Eda? Think you can ever find the spell to bring me inside the house?" He can be heard outside. "It gets really scary out here sometimes. Hoot..."
"Oh, yeah. I'll get right on that, Hooty." She says, sarcastically, but while shaking her head and mouthing "No." to Luz. And it was then, for another reunion, Luz heard someone coming down the stairs, and it just so happen to have been her friends, Gus and Willow, who were looking a little different. Willow now had a light blue cloak over her Hexside Uniform with the Speaker Symbol on its button, seems like Eda has been training her will in Speaker Magic. Gus had a new attire all together, comprised of a black jacket and pants along with a light blue shirt and wrappings around his waist, with the Speaker Symbol acting as sort of a belt buckle, as well as brown leather belt going over his right shoulder and under his left arm. Needless to say that they both looked more mature to Luz now, as they had surprised faces on before rushing over to their human friend.
"Luz!" They both cried out as the Belmont was galloped in yet another hug, yet another one that she cherished.
"We're so glad to see that you're okay!" Cried out Willow with tears in her eyes.
"I honestly thought..." Gus started to say, but stoped himself. "I mean...we saw you get stabbed."
"Yes, you did." Luz said as she unbutton the upper buttons of her jacket. "You saw...right there." She reveals the scar directly in the center of her chest. Both of her friends were at awe, remember how Luz had miraculously survived that.
"Oh, wow." Gus said before shaking his head and facing Luz. "Luz, we're honestly glad you're here. A lot of things have changed."
"For better and for worse since you've been gone." Willow continued."
"What's been happening?" She asked.
Gus started "Ever since your fight with Belos, the Emperor's Coven has been...rather silent, as of late. Their coven guards and other loyalists haven't been seen out in public for a while. Eda believes they all be cooped up in the castle."
Then Willow continued, saying "For good reason. Ever since you were taken back to the human realm, the Night Creatures that you've been fighting have been running amuck."
Flashback to a few weeks ago, where a pack of lesser werewolves were coming out of the woods of the Isles. One was on top of a tree and howling. Bonesborough can be seen getting pillaged from zombies and skeleton warriors. They were being lead by warriors in dark armor with a red bat crest, Vampiric soldiers and the inhabitants of the Boiling Isles either fought back, ran for their lives, or were slaughtered.
"Everybody had gone into hiding." Willow said. "Bonesborough started to look like a ghost town, and a lot of demon hunters and croaked witches began having fun with fighting the monsters for sport."
Flashback ends as Gus goes on.
"Not to mention that school's been canceled for the rest of the semester, or more than that, according to Principal Bump. We haven't seen Amity or any other kids in weeks, and the two of us have been barely able to go home and check on our families."
"I'm...really sorry guys." Luz said. "I might mostly be my fault. The Night Creatures have been hunting me for years, and when I was at my vulnerable, while still in their territory, they decided to try and tear this place apart, just to get to me."
"This wasn't your fault, Luz." Eda said, as she puts her hand on her pupil's shoulder. "Our old friend, Zobek, has been busy as of late as well. He's been planning something for a while now, something that involves the entirety of the Isles, but the question is 'What?'"
That name made Luz's blood boil. Zobek has been working behind the scenes, making Lilith his puppet and using Belos for something big. She had a pretty good idea on what convoluted plan he had in mind now. It was always the same with him, after all.
"Doesn't matter." Luz said. "When the time comes, we'll face him with everything we've had." She turns to Gus and Willow. "I'm guessing you guys have been busy training?"
"Hard." said Gus before Willow replied "Eda's been teaching us how to fight and improving upon our skills. I've been getting better and better at my elemental magic."
"And I've been doing a little sword play." Gus said as he brought out a broadsword and holsters it in his shoulder belt. He then tugs on the belt in an attempt to adjust it. "Still a little heavy, but I'm getting better."
"Nice." Then, there was another thing that crossed Luz's mind. "Wait, what about Amity? You know how she's doing?"
Willow answered "We've kept in touch. She's doing fine and her leg has healed up okay. And while she and her siblings are stuck in their mansion, her parents have been continuing with their business, Blight Industries, making weapons and other things to fight off the Night Creatures."
"That's not all." Eda butted in. "Upon flying over the isles once before getting shot down a flock of demonic crows, I saw some things that weren't originally there to begin with. Several towers across the limbs of the Titans. Not of this world."
"Towers?"
"I checked one of it. Had a rather Victorian Design inside and out. And weirdest thing was that it seemed like the walls were bleeding...and it definitely wasn't blood from the Titan."
That got Luz attentions, towers that were of Victorian origin, appearing out of nowhere in the Isles, with blood that wasn't from the realm. "It can't be, she thought." She thought. "If those towers are part of what I think they are...we're in more trouble than we think."
"Luz?" Eda said, snapping the kid out of her train of thought. Luz quickly said "I'm fine. We should worry about those towers later. We need to get back on the agenda."
"What agenda?" Gus asked, with Willow also curious.
"Luz, I know you want to take down Belos as soon as possible, but we're taking it slow as it is right now."
"You serious want to go after Belos, Luz?" Willow asked, worryingly. "After he tried to kill you?"
"Yes." Luz said in a serious tone. "Because if I don't, he's going to try and kill all of you."
That may have been too much for Gus and Willow to take, as they were kids of the Isles, and the Empire's Coven ruling over them has always been what they've known as their way of life. To here that their own leader wishes Genocide against their people was like a slap across their faces.
"...But, good things come to those who wait, as a wise man once said." Luz continued on. "We have Isles filled with Night Creatures that need to be purged, towers and investigate and a Coven whose leader needs to be stopped...which do you wanna do first?"
They all looked at Luz with widened eyes, before looking at themselves while thinking about this. Luz would give it time. This is the first time she's been in the Boiling Isles after about a month, and she had more than enough time to work with. She will fight, help her friends to survive, and stop the evil in Isles. It was just a matter of time...
Meanwhile, at an Undisclosed Location on the Isles, there was a Stone Coffin decorated and engraved with thousands of hands and arms crawling around it. It had the symbol of a raven perched on a staff on its cover, yet there was no name to be found anywhere on the burial sight. It had been there for some time, untouched, undisturbed having only the moonlight shine over it through the darkness of the night sky. No one knew the significance of this sight as the coffin's began to move on its own, sliding to the right before falling off completely. A pair of grey hands with sharp black nails rose up and grabbed the side of the coffin as a figure rose up and out from it. This figure was feminine, and had dark grey skin, a head of straight, bleached white hair, and she wore a flowing, navy blue dress that reached down to her feet, showed most of her right leg up to her thigh, had a black and golden breastplate on it's front and was backless. dark, fingerless evening gloves covered her forearms, where tattooed on both, and on her back, were glyphs not native to the Boiling Isles. Standing on her heeled feet, the woman dizzily walked forwards and away from the coffin, holding her head as she tried to think and looked around.
"I...I recognize this place." She said, looking across the woods, seeing that her coffin was placed right next to a decrepit stone fountain with vines wrapped around its base. "I've been here once before...Who am I?" Seeing a piece of a mirror that was at the fountain's base, the woman slowly grabbed it and raised it towards her face. What she saw made her drop the mirror almost instantly as it broke on the ground...
"No...No!...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Her voice echoed across the woods as birds and bats flew around. The woman fell to her knees, her hands covering her face as the feeling of dry tears come down from her eyes.
"This can't be...what I am." She whimpered. "This can't be my fate. Not this...please not this! It WASN'T SUPPOSED TO LIKE THIS!" Her face was revealed to be as grey as the rest of her body, her eyes a jet black with green corneas. She was Lilith Clawthorne, ressurrected as a vampire, a shell of her former self, descecrated by the very coven and Emperor she literally gave her life to. Her feelings of despair were soon replaced by embroiled rage as she growled like a beast, clenching her fist, which bled, due to her sharp nails. Turning back to her coffin, she looked into it and saw that there was black and grey version of the white and gold staff she used as now the former head of the Emperor's Coven. Taking it as her new weapon, she tested if she could still use her magic, forming a spell circle with ease, albeit now in a crimson color before firing a demonic streams of flames towards the trees, which burned to nothing but cinders.
Satisfied with that, there was one last thing to do, as she took off her glove to reveal the Emperor's Coven Symbol branded onto her hand. Feral instincts kicked in as she just bit the skin and flesh clean off, ridding herself of that cursed mark, watching as her hand regenerated and healed, now clean of any sort of brand.
"...I will come for you, Belos..." She said in a dark, raspy voice. "And I will make you suffer in ways you can never imagine...But not before, I reunite with you once more...sister..."
And with that begins a new part of the crossover. Luz's is all better now, the Boiling Isles is already a warzone, Willow and Gus are badasses in training and Lilith's a vampire.
I plan on giving Gus and Willow some respected weapons. I just need to figure out when's the best time, and episode, to do so.
And if anybody has any good ideas to share for what should happen next or later on, do share. I'll be more than willing to hear some ideas out.
Keep a lookout for more chapters.
