A/N: Hello, readers! I thought this concept would be a cool idea to make if Siegrain was an actual person.
And Meredy is underrated so I decided to make her the love interest :)
Enjoy!
CHAPTER ONE: I NEED YOUR HELP
Bodies littered the ground as the bandits groaned in pain. A blue-haired man with a red tattoo under his right eye was the one left standing. He wore a long white overcoat and a dark shirt underneath. On the sleeves of his coat was the Wizard Saint symbol, indicating his status as one of the Ten Wizard Saints.
"Oh, I think I went overboard. Lahar is definitely going to scold me..." The man muttered to himself before he laughed.
"But idiots like you are the reason I have a job!"
The blue-haired man then noticed his communication lacrima was going off, signaling someone was calling him. He heads over to it, seeing it was his fiancee calling him.
"Mer!" He greeted.
Meredy's face showed up on the lacrima. "Sorry to bother you, Sieg. But are you busy?" She asked.
Siegrain placed his foot on one of the thugs head, squishing it. "Just got done knocking down a few magical thieves that the Council sent me to arrest. But I'm free for the rest of the day. What is it you need?" He asked.
"Uh... Do you mind meeting me at our normal spot? It's an urgent matter that should be spoken in person." Meredy said.
"Gotcha. I'll see you in a few." Siegrain told her, shutting off communication. "I wonder what it could be..."
Meanwhile, Meredy let out a sigh, glancing up to meet two of her partners in front of her. "He's going to meet us." She announced.
"Are you sure he's even going to agree?" Ultear asked.
"I don't know. Considering his relationship with Jellal is rocky." Meredy replied, the two women looking towards Jellal, who was sitting on a log with his eyes closed as he looked like he was in deep thought.
Siegrain finally arrived at the destinated meeting spot where he usually met with Meredy. He finally spotted the pink-haired woman waiting for him as he rushed over and picked her up, spinning her around.
"Sieg!"
Siegrain laughed, placing her back down on the ground. "Sorry, Mer. I just really missed you. Man... The Magic Council is sure kicking my ass." He sighed. "Anyway, what did you want to meet up for? You said it was an urgent matter."
Meredy looks at him with guilt in her eyes as Siegrain heard footsteps. He looked behind his fiancee, scowling when he spotted Jellal and Ultear.
"Hell no."
Jellal practically winced at the cold tone of his brother's voice as Siegrain turned to leave. However, Meredy grabbed onto his wrist. "Please just hear him out, Sieg." She pleaded.
"Absolutely not." Siegrain denied.
"Don't tell me you're still angry about what happened. That was seven years ago, Sieg." Jellal said.
"You're little stunt almost made me lose my job and status, you piece of shit!" Siegrain growled, remembering what had occured after he came back from a long mission.
"Siegrain! You're not allowed to leave on long missions ever again! Do you understand?" Gran Doma shouted in anger.
"Yes, sir!"
Siegrain crossed his arms. "You used a Thought Projection to pretend to be me. Excuse me for not forgiving you and holding a grudge." He said. "And it's quite cruel to use Mer in order to get in touch with me-"
"I need your help."
Siegrain stopped and and turned his gaze over to Jellal. "I wouldn't have Meredy contact you if it wasn't urgent. Honest." Jellal said.
"Well? Get on with it."
"Last year, during the Grand Magic Games, I could sense powerful dark magic lurking around the stadium. I don't know where it's coming from but I'm certain it'll be there again." Jellal explained.
"We think it's Lord Zeref." Ultear added on.
Siegrain raised an eyebrow, urging them to continue. "I need you to get closer for us." Jellal said.
"And you can't do it because?"
"If I'm near the stadium, the Magic Council will arrest me on the spot."
Siegrain rolled his eyes. "I refuse. You do realize you're asking me to risk my job, right? If my colleagues take notice that a Magic Council member is participating, I could get fired." He informed.
"That's why you'll be disguised as a Fairy Tail member, Mystogan." Jellal said, Siegrain's eyes widening at the mention of Mystogan.
"I'm definitely not helping you then."
"Why not?"
"Because disguising as someone who I thought of as a brother doesn't sit right with me." Siegrain replied.
"I didn't even know you knew him." Jellal stated, surprised that Siegrain knew of his counterpart. In which Siegrain recalled meeting Mystogan.
"Siegrain?"
Siegrain looks up when his name was called, seeing a masked man looking at him. Instantly, he got into a fighting stance. But before he could cast a spell, the stranger rushed forward and hugged him tightly.
"I know you're his counterpart... But it's just good to see you alive." He mumbled.
"W-Wait!" Siegrain exclaimed in confusion. "Who are you exactly and how do you know me?"
The masked man sighed, removing his cap and mask. "Jellal?!" Siegrain shouted.
"I'm not the Jellal of this world."
Mystogan soon explained everyone and by the time he was done, Siegrain was chuckling as Mystogan raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry, I'm not laughing at your situation, I promise. It's just that your Earthland counterpart is a certified psychopath. To find out that you're a prince is just hilarious to me." Siegrain said.
"I'm well aware. It's why I have to hide my identity." Mystogan said.
Siegrain frowned. "So I'm dead in your world, huh? Who would've thought..." He stated. "Alright. Let's make a pact. As long as you're in Earthland, let's be brothers."
"Sorry?"
"I'm not trying to replace your actual brother. That's not my intention. But you won't be alone if you have someone familiar with you, right?"
Siegrain snorted. "Yeah, well, you were a psychopath at the time and Edo-Siegrain was dead. So we were both there for each other. I'll have you know he was a better brother in the time he was here then you've ever been to me my whole life." He explained, causing Jellal to frown and Meredy to hit his arm.
"Sieg!"
"What? I'm just being honest here." Siegrain spoke, not bothered. "But I guess I'll help you out."
"You will?" Jellal asked.
"Yes. Because even if I decline, you're just going to do it on your own anyway. I just really hope I won't have to battle someone. That could go wrong for both me and Fairy Tail if they discover a Magic Council member is participating on their behalf." Siegrain sighed. "Looks like I gotta brush up on Mystogan's magic."
"Thank you for this, Sieg." Jellal said.
"Tch, whatever."
At Fairy Tail...
Siegrain entered Fairy Tail's makeshift guild hall, getting everyone's attention. "Siegrain?" Erza questioned, the only one who recognized the male.
"Did Erza say Siegrain? I thought he was just a Thought Projection made by Jellal!" Natsu exclaimed.
"I'm very much real, and Jellal's brother, unfortunately." Siegrain said before turning to Erza. "Is Makarov around?"
Erza points over towards Makarov, who was already walking towards him. "Siegrain, what can I do for you my boy?" Makarov asked.
Siegrain looks around at everyone staring at him. "Ah... Can we talk where there's no listening ears?" He replied. Makarov nodded as he leads Siegrain outside of the guild hall.
Outside...
Siegrain had just finished explaining to Makarov about what Jellal had asked him to do. "Both of us are taking risks, Makarov, I know. Me with my job and you risking Fairy Tail being disqualified. I may hate his guts but I can't have Jellal be arrested... again." He finished.
"So why are you doing this for him?"
Siegrain looked down, remembering his last conversation with Mystogan.
"Huh? You're going back?" Siegrain questioned in shock. "You can't be serious!"
"Sieg, I have to. I don't belong in Earthland." Mystogan replied.
Siegrain wanted to cry, and the only time he's ever shed tears was during the Tower of Heaven. "The Edolas version of me is dead. If he goes back, he'll go back to that pain." He thinks to himself. He knew he couldn't be selfish. Not this time.
Siegrain wraps his arms around Mystogan, hugging him tightly and taking Mystogan by surprise. "For the record, I've never hugged my Jellal before. So consider yourself special." He said, making Mystogan chuckle and hug him back.
"Thank you for being my brother. Take care and don't forget about me, okay?" Siegrain added on.
"I won't. I promise." Mystogan responded. "Say, Siegrain. Can you do something for me?"
"Anything."
"Make up with the Earthland Jellal - your real brother. I know he's made unforgivable choices, but he's still your brother no matter what. One day... he might be gone and you're going to wish you never fought with him. Can you do that for me?"
"...I'll try."
"Mystogan's last request was for me to make up with Jellal." Siegrain replied after a while.
"And you think helping him with his investigation will do that?" Makarov questioned.
"Hard to say. Jellal and I never really saw eye to eye. Perhaps this will fix our relationship." Siegrain answered.
Makarov stayed silent for a while. "I'll place you on Team B with Gajeel, Laxus, Mirajane, and Juvia." He said.
"Thanks for this, Makarov."
Siegrain bids farewell to Makarov before taking his leave.
A/N: The first chapter is completed! Also, this might be going on my Wattpad account as well, so if you see the same story, don't fret. It's me.
Thanks for reading!
