My last Mika story had one flaw, so I am getting closer. That flaw, he was too knowledgeable and skilled too fast. I found an oddly easy solution.

It was the warmth of green light that woke Mika from what he presumed was death. He looked about, seeing a man in white mask holding his hands over his chest where his father had stabbed his chest what felt like moments ago. "What?"

"Shh, child, you are being healed." A man said, gruff and cold. Turning, he saw the source of the voice, an elderly man with black hair and countless bandages. He looked terrifying, there was an air of malice about him. "What is your name?"

"Mika, my lord."

The man nodded. "No Family name?"

"I loathe my family, I chose to not have one."

That made the man smile. "Interesting... my name is Danzo Shimura, how would you like to become a ninja?" The man kneeled, his one visible eye looking at him with curiosity.

"Why me?"

"You managed to kill you far larger, angrier father all on your own without training. You are widely considered to be a genius in your schooling, despite missing countless days of schooling due to injury... I think you would be a great ninja. I have my own division of ninja, ROOT, they are called... we will become your new family, but you must follow the rules, obey without question and rise to greatness to serve the village by the ROOTs. Can you do this? Can you agree to this?"

The boy went quiet, knowing there was really only one answer... 'Do I have any choice, with your servant healing me? I wanna live, and being a ninja would give me the means to be strong, to never suffer as I have before...' The answer came to him easily. "I would be all to happy to help you, Lord Danzo."

"Very well... rest now, but know this, to serve me is to serve in darkness. Unbeknownst to the world, to anyone else."

"I do not seek glory but results." Mika said,

Danzo smirked, and he knew it was the right words to say. Darkness hit him once more and he fell asleep never guessing what horrors would come to him in the coming days...

"""

'A potential successor?' Danzo thought, looking at the boy. He was many things, but stupid was not one of them. He knew fully that he was getting older, he was going to die in a few years. That became clear last year when Itachi threatened him. He was no immortal. He needed a successor. His current batch was one that he felt like he could create a perfect successor, a better version of the Sanin. The village needed it, and so in turn did he.

The boy before him was a candidate, but only if he proved himself to be worthy beyond his capacity to kill. Would he prove to be a powerful ninja, a mighty, skilled and intelligent warrior? Time would tell, but he had a good feeling about this...

If not, he would get a warrior that even Hiruzen would never notice... He had been getting so few since the Uchiha Clan massacre...

If ROOT was to help the village flourish, he would need every meat suit he could get...

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

This was a lot of fun. ROOT is the perfect place to get unrestrictedly strong, skilled and experienced and knowledged. All things that were too fast paced in past stories.

Love, your Ninja Overlord,

Mika.
