"Ugh… oh… oh man… K…Ken…" Natsu groaned.
Ken sighed. "Why'd you have to fall down right in front of the door, you couldn't have walked three more steps…?"
"You think you'd have gotten used to this by now Ken!" Happy commented, as he flew just over them.
Ken sighed as he reached down and grabbed his dragon slayer friend by the arms, dragging him backwards off the train before it could take off with him on it.
"You… would think so, dammit Natsu when did you get so heavy?!" He wheezed, dropping him with a sigh when he was clear off the train.
"Th…thanks… Ken," Natsu groaned, still obviously feeling the effect of his motion sickness.
Ken sighed again, wiping the sweat from his forehead and moved to the shade of one of the nearby train station buildings. Happy floated around Natsu's head, Ken knew him well enough to know that he'd be out for a few minutes at least so he wasn't worried. He looked out over the town of Hargeon and enjoyed a cool sea breeze that went by. His feet were tired, he had a headache, and was aching from head to toe, so he while he wasn't motion sick like Natsu, he was glad to be on solid ground.
Not to mention, Magnolia isn't far. We were gone for almost a month this time, way past when we were supposed to return, Master's going to be angry… Ken thought, before sighing and running a hand through his sweaty white hair. The fact he was going to make Master Makarov angry was a concern yes, but it was the least of his many concerns at the moment.
The more pressing matter, was that even after a month, he and Natsu hadn't found anything, not at all, not a single trace. A part of Ken hadn't expected to find any new trail, every small one they may have found went cold quick. Still… to search for a whole month and not find anything at all, no clues, not a single trace? It would make the master angry and annoyed him to no end.
He was thankful he had a friend like Natsu, who was willing to help him. A part of Ken knew that Natsu was helping him search for his brother, because he knew what it was like to look for someone you had lost that disappeared without a trace. That was why he'd agreed to come to Hargeon with him, he owed Natsu enough to track down any leads on Igneel.
Of course… the lead is still stupid, I mean why would a dragon be in a city? He wondered, looking at his groaning friend with a sigh.
He dusted off his long brown trench coat, before checking the pockets of his black pants for how my jewel he had. After dishing out a god handful of bills, he decided to get moving, just sitting around would do nothing but make him sweat.
"How's he looking Happy?" He asked the cat, counting the jewel he had.
"Not good sir!" The flying cat said, floating over in front of him. "He's still out! But probably not for much longer… hey, you okay Ken?"
"I'm fine… just a bit annoyed," He said, putting his money away and looking at his cat friend. "I'm sorry I dragged you and Natsu along for so long for nothing in the end."
"Aw don't worry Ken, I don't mind and I know Natsu doesn't!" Happy said with a thumbs up. "We're friends that's what friends do! Besides, you're helping Natsu look into Igneel now to make up for it!"
Ken laughed nervously, not wanting to tell the cat how stupid the lead was. "Ha… yeah, of course, it's no problem. Now, mind keeping an eye on him? I'm gonna head into town to check the nearest magic shop, see if I can get a good map. Who knows maybe it has somewhere we can look."
Happy dutifully nodded. "Aye sir! As soon as Natsu comes too, we'll come find you in the center of town."
Ken couldn't help but smile. "Thanks, Happy, see you soon-."
"Oh, wait Ken!" Happy said, pointing to his head. "Your hair!"
Ken stopped and looked up at his white locks. They were a mess on his head like usual, he hadn't combed his hair today, but that wasn't what Happy was talking about.
"Right, I almost forgot, thanks," He said, holding his hand to his head, and letting his magic flow to his fingertips. "Can't have people recognizing me… ugh, last time they did sends shivers down my spine."
Happy laughed. "Haha those girls chased you all over town!"
Ken shuddered; he had no idea it could be so horrifying. He regretted every day doing that photo shoot with Erza and Mira for Sorcerer Weekly.
"Can't have that again…" He said, his bright blueish green magic emanating from his fingertips, as it went over his white hair. "Trace magical structure… now, project! Illusion magic, re-color… blonde!"
"Ohhhh going blonde this time?" Happy said curiously.
Ken chuckled. "Ha, yeah haven't done it in a while, how do I look!"
"Look like a natural blonde sir! Catch you later!" The cat said, floating back over to Natsu,
Ken smiled and grabbed one of his bangs and confirmed it had changed from white to blonde. Of course, he still has his bright blue eyes, but there was no way anyone would recognize him from that stupid photo shoot now. Illusion magic was easy to copy, he'd had illusion magic in his repertoire of spells he could project and use. It didn't take much magical energy, and it was worth it to walk through the town undisturbed.
Okay… sooner we get in there, sooner we can go home… back to Fairy Tail, Ken thought, hands in his pockets as he got into the streets, looking at the pendant dangling at his neck. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna give up… don't worry Mom, I'll find him.
"I won't give up on you… Caria," He whispered, grabbing the pendant, golden, in the shape of one angel wing. "I'll find you, and then Dad too… promise."
Snow Fairy: Fairy Tail OP 1
The Angel of Fairy Tail
Episode 1: The Angel of Fairy Tail!
Lucy
"You're telling me this is really the only magic shop in town?" She said sighing and shaking her head. "Not another one at all this is it?!"
"Aha, most folk here are fishing folk instead of magic ones," The old man said. "I doubt many of them even know how to use magic. I opened this shop to supply the passing wizards that are coming by."
Lucy sighed, she hoped to at least get more supplies on the way to Magnolia. The old man probably didn't think she was much of a wizard, she could tell by the way he looked at her. She turned and pursued the shelves until finally, she able to spot what she was looking for. The old man had just gotten through trying to show her illusion magic to change the color of her clothes, but she was already thinking about the gate key.
"I… already have that," She said, standing over the key. She ignored the sound of the door opening and turned back to the man. "The thing I'm really looking for is some new gate keys! Oh, look at this one it has the doggy on it!"
It probably wouldn't be much help in battle, but every new spirit was a new friend, and that wasn't something that she was going to pass up! She picked up the small box with the key and walked it over to the counter.
"Oh, a gate key eh? That one won't be very powerful," He told her.
Her face got red, but she still held the key up. "I know… but still! I'll wanna have it, sooooo how much is it going to be?"
The old man giggled and nodded. "Only 20,000 jewel!"
Her jaw fell. "U…um excuse me, how much?"
"20,000 jewel!"
She stammered, before clearing her throat and sitting on the counter. "Oh come on… how much is it really? Maybe me and you could cut a deal?"
She tossed her hair back and winked. It had worked so many times before, and she was hoping it would work again, because she knew that in the end she would pay that 20,000 jewel if it meant getting a new spirit. She saw the old man holding the box, smiling from ear to ear and for a moment she thought that using her feminine wiles had worked again.
"Oh well of course!" The old man said, holding up his finger. "I'll take off 1,000 jewel! Bringing the price down to 19,000!"
Lucy stammered. "Seriously?! Come on, please, I don't have- WAH!"
"WOAH EASY!"
She fell trying to get off the counter because of course she did, it was just the kind of luck she'd been having that day. At first she braced herself to hit the ground, a new bruise on her knee, but that never happened. Before she could hit the ground, she hit someone. They yelped quickly, before catching her around her waist and around her legs, before she was pulled back up into the air like a bride on her wedding day.
"Oh man, that was close," The person said. "Are you alright?"
Lucy groaned and nodded, already embarrassed enough. "Yeah thank you… I'm such a… clutz…"
She looked up, and her mouth went dry, her eyes going as big as plates, feeling like a massive stone slab had been dropped on her chest.
C…C…. CUTE BOY!
"I… I… I um…. You… I… I…" She said, trying to speak.
He narrowed his eyes at her looking worried. "Are you… sure you're okay?"
"YES! FINE!" She said, sprouting up out of his arms onto her feet. "Totally fine thanks to you! Yes, fine, fine, fine! Completely and totally healthy!"
He kept looking at her and chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. "Ha… good then. Sorry, I wasn't eavesdropping, but I overheard you're trying to get a gate key? You're a celestial wizard?"
Lucy breathed a sigh of relief; he hasn't run away! Come on Lucy speak! Don't stutter like an idiot, you're both just people!
He was seriously good looking though, and oddly enough looked somewhat familiar. Lucy felt she had seen him somewhere before, it was something about his eyes. They were the brightest blue that she'd ever seen before, and while she normally didn't find other people with blonde hair attractive, she definitely thought he was absolutely gorgeous. He had on a long brown trench coat over a white unbuttoned collared t-shirt, with black pants and boots. She noticed something sparkling around his neck, and realized it was a kind of pendant. It was golden, but the odd thing about it, was that it was only a single wing, a golden angel like wing… why would it not be a pair of wings?
And… why do I think I've seen that before? She thought, before stammering when she realized he was waiting for her to answer.
"Oh! Um, yes haha, I'm a celestial wizard alright!" She said, turning and sighing as she remembered the price. "Which means I pay an arm and a leg for everything… okay, you said 19,000 jewel old man right-."
"Excuse me sir, what about if I gave you one of these," The boy said, walking next to her at the old mans counter and pulling something from his pocket. "A fire crystal, they're normally worth say… 5,000 jewel? I bet you could sell this for more in here, why not knock it off her price?"
Lucy's jaw dropped. "A… a fire crystal?! You don't have to do that do you have any idea how valuable and rare those things are?!"
He laughed and smiled at her. "I got a friend who's a fire wizard, he eats these things like candy when he needs them. I hoard them for him, so I got plenty."
"Eats… them?" Lucy said, gagging.
His eyes went wide. "OH! Um, did I say eat?! I meant… break yeah! He breaks them and uses the fire! Hahaha…. So, um, sir what do you say? Knock 5,000 jewel off her price for the gate key? Oh, and I'll even throw in a second if you give me these old maps?"
Lucy wanted to protest, but stopped when he turned… and winked at her! Her heart went a mile a minute, it felt like it would explode, how much luckier could she get in one day?! A cute boy comes to her rescue to stop her from falling and now he was bartering for her!? She watched as he haggled for the price with the old man, pulling out another of the dark orange and black fire crystal.
Finally, he smiled and shook hands with the old guy looking back to her. "Got it down to 10,000 jewel for you, can you pay that?"
Lucy's chest exploded. SERIOUSLY AM I DREAMING RIGHT NOW?!
She stammered and fumbled for her money. "I… yes! Yes, thank you so much you didn't need to do that."
He smiled and nodded. "It's no problem really. I'm getting what I came for, and you get your gate key, I know they're hard for Celestial Wizards to come across."
You have no idea… but why do you look so familiar?! Have I met him before? She thought, as all she could do was smile like a goof as they both paid for their things. She watched as he rolled up some old maps of the area he'd bought from the man, before handing over a few hundred jewel, and they Lucy paid her amount, she got a key for even cheaper then usual thanks to him. She'd have enough now to get onto a train to Magnolia with plenty to spare, she could even splurge at lunch!
She wasn't afraid to admit how long she stared at him as they paid, and made their way out of the store. His eyes were what really got her attention, they were so blue she felt like she was looking into the ocean. Except for the blonde hair, he checked every box that she found attractive when looking for someone who was her type. The blonde hair made her feel a bit weird, as if she were attracted to a sibling since it was the same exact kind of blonde as hers, but that didn't mean he wasn't extremely good looking, and apparently had a way with words if he'd been able to talk down that old man. He even opened the door for her as they left the shop, before sticking the maps into a small pack he wore on his back over his brown trench coat.
A part of her did still feel guilty, she probably seemed like a creep then, since after they got outside she did nothing but stare at him. She was sure now that she'd seen him somewhere before, but surely if she met someone like this before she'd know right? She chewed the inside of her lip, nervous as he turned to her smiling once they had made it outside the magic shop. All she could do was stand there, a dumb smile on her face, while she tried to think of something to say, but ultimately came up short. She'd tried to prepare for a moment like this, a cute boy, a strong wizard swoops into her rescue, a spark of a connection occurs and she'd been whisked off her feet.
However, all that preparing went out the door, and she couldn't tell if this boy was a wizard or not, or even if he was a boy or not. He could have been her age, or maybe a year or two older.
She realized her eyes were closed, and when she opened them, he was still there waiting for her to say something and inside she panicked.
COME ON SAY SOMETHING LUCY!
"Oh! Um… thank you again haha, I… I really didn't want to spend that much," She said, rubbing the back of her head. "I would have hated missing out on a new spirit, you really saved me!"
REALLY?! YOU SAID THAT ALREADY! She scolded herself, she was really botching this. She'd already thanked him inside; he was going to think she was pathetic!
Luckily for her, he kept smiling. It had to be around noon now, the sun was shining bright, and the pendant of a golden angel wing blew in the wind. His hair may have been blonde, but it blew in a mess around his head and just feel so cutely around his ears.
Oh god I need to get this back, come on Lucy! OH! Tell him you're going to join Fairy Tail, maybe that'll impress him, she thought, hoping it would work. If he was in the magic shop, it was clear he was a wizard too, so he'd know what guilds were, and every wizard knew Fairy Tail.
"Like I said, it's no problem, I'm just glad I saved you some cash," He said, chuckling as he held his hands behind his head. "Although, I think you would have bought it anyway, I saw how excited you looked when you say it when I walked in."
Her eyes widened. "You… you did?!"
Oh man he saw me geeking out over a key, he'll probably think I'm just some kid-.
"I… I wasn't creeping on you I promise! I just well I… I happened to see when I walked in, I wasn't staring I promise!" He assured me, his face red as he waved his hands in front of himself to reiterate his point. Nervously, and really cutely he rubbed his head again. "I… just heard it in your voice when you were talking about it. The old man, he told you the spirit wasn't very powerful, but you wanted it anyway. That made me think you'd buy it anyway, ha… I bet you really care about your spirits. I think that's awesome, not every Celestial Wizard does."
Lucy stammered for a minute, her chest feeling warm. It was clear to her he was a wizard now, only a wizard would know the ins and outs of being a Celestial Wizard. The thing that really got her however, was how he seemed to understand. She'd been worried that he would tease her like some people did when they figured out how close she was to her spirits. However, hearing him say that then, it probably made him think she couldn't talk, but in reality she was so nervous now she didn't know what else to say.
A cute boy who'd helped her, was a wizard, and right away seemed to understand her? It was almost too good to be true.
"Ha… well, you're right!" She said, trying to regain her confidence. She still blushed but she smiled and confidently held her hands on her hips. "A good Celestial Wizard treats her spirits as good as she'd treat her own children! As friends and partners, not as tools!"
"Haha, that's a good attitude to have, I'm glad I could help you then," He said, meeting her eyes with those blue, blue eyes of his and nodding. "So, are you a part of a guild?"
Yes! Perfect segway, she thought, her confidence slowly coming back.
"Not yet no!" She said, smirking as she reached back into her pocket. "But I was actually stopping here on my way to Magnolia, I'm going to join the Fairy Tail guild!"
His mouth fell open, stammering he laughed. "Ha… um, Fairy Tail?"
"Yes! Have you never heard of Fairy Tail?!" I said, pulling open the copy of Sorcerer Weekly that I had and flipping to the right page. "They only take the best of the best! They're always in Sorcerer Weekly, they save so many people, they have some of the best young wizards of the generation! There's people like Titania Erza, Queen of the Fairies, or Kenshin Kokoro the Angel of Fairy Tail, they're S class wizards at only 19! They're seriously, perfect! Have you never heard of them?!"
For some reason he looked nervous, but I was just so excited I decided to ignore it. He was probably overwhelmed, I didn't blame him, as he looked at the picture of the recent photoshoot of Mirajane, Erza, and Kenshin. I got overwhelmed seeing them too after all.
He chuckled and rubbed his head again. "Ha… oh I've heard of them alright. Just ah… be careful okay? They are great yeah, but they also have tendency to set too blow things up."
That made Lucy laughed. "Ahaha, I've heard that too. But… I've read interviews, heard things they've said. They just really seem to understand what magic's about, being a wizards about. Helping people and spreading joy around to everyone!"
That made him smile again, and when he did, Lucy's heart skipped a beat. She blushed realizing how much she'd gone on.
"Ha… sorry, I'm rambling," She said, putting the magazine away. "I just get excited talking about it, I've always wanted to join."
He smiled wider and shook his head. "No don't be, I like hearing about stuff people are passionate about. I think you'll fit in great at Fairy Tail… oh, sorry, I haven't even asked you your name yet!"
Lucy's eyes widened. "Oh man, neither have I! It's nice to meet you, my names Lucy thank you again for helping me."
He looked at the hand she held out and grabbed it. "It's no problem Lucy. It's nice to meet you, I'm Ken."
Ken… a cute name, oh man he's touching my hand, is it lingering?! Is he holding it for longer?! She realized, as he slowly pulled back his hand.
After another moment, she realized that neither of them were saying anything. Quickly, she thought of something, remembering the store.
"It's nice to meet you Ken," She said, sheepishly moving from one foot to the other. "So… you saw what I got, you were buying maps? Going on a treasure hunt or something?"
He smiled and looked at the pack he had. "Ha… something like that. I've been looking for someone for a while now. I'm actually on my way back from looking with my friend. I figured the maps of the are may give me somewhere we didn't look."
"Oh… you're looking for someone?" She said, suddenly nervous. "A… family member? Friend? Um… girlfriend?"
"My younger brother," He said, sighing as he turned and looked out over the distant ocean. "I haven't seen him in a few years. My mom she… asked me to find him, so since he left home I've been looking for him."
She suddenly felt very guilty for being so shallow.
"Oh… I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to sound insensitive," She said, holding her hands together in front of her waist. "I hope you find him soon…"
He chuckled and turned back to her. "Don't worry you couldn't have known. Thank you though, it does mean a lot. I… should actually get going now. I left my friend near the train station, the fire guy, if I leave him alone for too long something will go up in flames."
The panic set back in. No! I have to at least talk a bit more; I can't just let this chance go!
"Oh! Um, wait, why don't we go and get lunch together?" She said, a tingle going through her chest as she spoke. "You saved me 10,000 jewel, at least let me buy you some lunch to say thanks!"
She held her hand behind her, head, trying to show off more of her feminine wiles, but… she found it harder now. She was nervous! She hadn't expected for this to happen, let alone for him to actually seem interested. He turned and even looked nervous himself, as he slowly nodded.
"That… sounds nice haha," He said, walking up next to her. "I'd be happy too. But, I do need to meet up with my friend in the center of town, do you mind if he comes?"
"Oh, I don't mind! The more the merrier!" She said, as they started walking.
He laughed nervously. "Ha… awesome, but I'll help you pay. He can eat a lot."
"Oh come on, how much could he eat that you'd have to help pay?" Lucy asked, chuckling as they walked.
He scoffed a laugh. "Ha, oh you have no idea."
This… this is happening! Ha, I'll get to join Fairy Tail soon, and I met a cute boy today! How could this possibly get any better?!
XxxxxxxxxxxxxxX
"So… you're friends looking for a dragon?" Lucy asked in disbelief. "Like an actual dragon? Why… would a dragon be in a town like this?"
"I was gonna tell him that but well… I couldn't break it to him," Ken sighed as they approached the center of town. "We needed to stop at a town anyway, besides, he didn't hesitate when I asked him to come look for my brother with me. Even when we were gone almost a month, he never complained."
"Wow, he sounds like a really good friend," Lucy said, as they passed through groups of people.
He nodded, a fond smile on his face. "Yeah, he is, probably my best-friend. We've been in the same guild and known each other for years. He's a really great guy, one of the best I know, a little wild but you get used to it."
Lucy hadn't stopped smiling. She didn't want to get her hopes up, but she swore Ken was blushing as well as her, and if that was the case then he must at least find her cute right? Either way, the more they talked, the more she realized how magnetic a personality he had. They'd made their way towards the center of town through the crowds of people, and she'd managed to get him talking the whole time about little things here and there. The only thing that was disappointed in her eyes was that he didn't seem to be a very big fan of Sorcerer Weekly, but that was something that she could look past. Cute eyes, a cute face, sensitive and easy to talk too?! How could it get any better?!
It was still midday with a nice breeze outside, and now that she had a new gate key and didn't have to spend a crap ton of jewel, the day was looking up for her. If she moved on later, she could be in Magnolia in the next day or two depending on her stops. She hadn't figured out where Ken was going yet, but she thought that maybe if it wasn't too far out of her way… she'd ask to tag along. Seriously when would she get this kind of chance with a boy again?!
"Haha, so um… after you meet up with your friend, what will you guys do?" I asked him, as the two of them stopped around the fountain in the center of town.
He let out a relieved sigh, and smiled. "We'll finally head back to our guild. We were gone longer then we were supposed to. Oh man, my guild master is gonna lay into me. Still, we'll probably rest up for a week before taking on any more jobs."
"That's a smart idea, rest is important after all," Lucy said, nervously looking down and poking her fingers together, her face red. "Do you… happen to be heading towards Magnolia?"
He tilted his head and smiled. "Ha, well, actually yeah. Um… Lucy, I should probably tell you-."
"SALAMANDER!"
Ken's eyes widened. "Oh no what did he burn this… time? Huh? What the hell is that?"
Lucy looked past Ken as well and realized that a large group of people-mainly girls-had gathered near the fountain. She walked up next to him, and together they both approached the really loud group and stood on the outskirts. Ken narrowed his eyes, a very different look to his handsome face compared to what it'd just looked like a minute earlier, but Lucy for the first time since she'd met him didn't pay attention to that.
"SALAMANDER!"
"YOU'RE SO COOL!"
"HEY! SHOW US SOME OF YOUR MAGIC!"
The girls were all huddled around a tall, very, very handsome man who laughed and held up his hand.
"Aha… well, if you all insist!" He said, before holding out the palm of his hand. Bright flames appeared in his hand and he tossed them into the air, it circled around him through the sky and every single girl was completely enraptured by that and his smile.
Lucy wanted to turn away, this dude was clearly older then she was, and while he was really handsome she'd been walking around with a cute boy all day. She was just about to ask him to travel for a bit longer, and go have lunch with him. Why did she need to look at some guy throwing flames around?
The only problem was, she couldn't take her eyes off him.
"K…Ken?" She said, slowly feeling herself drift closer, her feet skidding on the ground. "Is this your… fire friend?"
"No," Ken said, his voice having changed as well, she saw out of the corner of his eye him cross his arms and shake his head. "His flames are way better than that pathetic show that guys… Lucy?"
The entire group of girls seemed to part, and Lucy felt a pounding in her chest… the Salamander seriously was cute, how could she have said otherwise? She weaved her way through the crowd getting closer and closer, seriously with each step he just got hotter and hotter!
"They say he's in Fairy Tail!"
"You're so cool Salamander!"
"Show us more! How long will you be in town?"
"Aha, ladies please," He said, turning with a smirk and looking towards the crowd. He was about to say something else… but then he stopped and Lucy nearly fainted.
Is… is he looking at me?! She squealed in her mind, practically hopping closer. Is this real life?! I can't believe that he's-.
"Lucy!"
"Huh?!" She yelped, feeling someone grab her arm and tug her backwards before the crowd all moved back in front of her. "Wh…what?"
"Hey, look over here," Ken's voice said, and she realized with a jump of her heart he was holding gently onto her hand. He looked down and she met his bright blue eyes, a concerned look in his eyes. "Are you okay? Here, hold still and don't move."
"K…Ken?" Lucy said, feeling as if she'd just walked out of a hazy dream. "What… what was that, what happened?"
"Just hold still for a second," Ken said, holding up his hand. Without muttering any words, Lucy watched as his hand move a few inches in front of her face.
Wh…what is he… oh my god, that's… beautiful, she thought as a gentle humming light appeared in his hands.
Like a mini ball of wind, bright blue magic swirled in Ken's palm. Lucy had never seen magic like it before so she couldn't place it. Ken held flicked his fingers forward, and like a gentle breeze it flew off his hands into Lucy's face. It hit her, and she flinched, but it was as if she'd been hit with a cool blast of salty sea air. The light spread around her face, it seeped into her skin and when it did she felt as if she'd just chugged a cup of coffee.
The foggy haze she'd just like she had been in was gone, she felt refreshed like she'd woke up from a nap. She blinked, and blushed when she realized that Ken was still looking at her, she stammered, wanting to ask what had happened, but he sighed before she could.
"Thank god, your head should be clear now," He said, smiling and shaking his head. "I was worried for a… gah! Sorry, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to hold your hand for so long!"
He dropped her wrist as his face went completely red, and he had to turn away from her. Lucy however, wasn't concerned with how cute he looked or the fact he'd held her hand.
"Ken what… what happened?" She asked, turning back to the Salamander signing autographs.
Ken turned back around and stood next to her. He let out a disgusted scoff. "That scumbag is using a love charm. They're outlawed, I'm sure you know what they are."
Lucy choked, her eyes widening as she looked at the man. "He… he did! I realize it now, when he looked at me I was ready to walk right over there."
"Yeah… if I had more time and energy I'd report him," Ken said with a sneer. "But I got better things to do, I'll leave a tip with the officers before I leave."
Lucy let out a sigh, embarrassed but relieved. "Good… but, wait, Ken. What did you do to me? Was that some kind of spell?"
He turned and held up his hand, the bright blue light returning to it. Lucy was mesmerized by how pretty the color was, as he smiled and met her eyes.
"Sort of. I used my magical energy to cancel out the spells effects," He told her, dropping his hand to his side. "I'm sure you would have thrown it off, but I got worried. Sorry, it was probably weird."
"No! Not at all," She said, sighing as the embarrassment set in. "I should be apologizing for falling for something so stupid. God, what a dirtbag!"
Ken chuckled. "Ha, it's okay glad I could help. Come on let's-."
"Hey! Hey Igneel, it's me!"
Ken froze, his eyes widening as he choked. Lucy stopped, they'd been about to walk away, but Ken spun back around looking towards the mob of girls and the salamander.
"Huh? Ken what is it?" Lucy asked.
His eyes widened. "That's my friend right there! NATSU!"
He took off before Lucy could say anything, and she turned to see Ken weave his way through the crowd of clamoring and shouting girls. One of them tried to stop him, and he tried to reason with her, but she shoved him away, and Ken let out an annoyed groan, moving around the group, and that was when Lucy finally got to the outskirts and looked in the middle at Salamander. Ken was still trying to penetrated the mob, but when Lucy looked inside it, she saw a boy with pink hair staring down Salamander with a confused look on his face.
And… that's a blue cat, Lucy thought, wondering how they got into this situation.
The kid narrowed his eyes and shook his head. "Huh? You're not Igneel, who the heck are you?"
"HUH?!" The fake Salamander said, as every girl started yelling and Lucy looked and saw Ken start to be squeezed between a group of them desperately trying to get through. She may have laughed in any other situation, but now all she could do was look around at the group of girls getting very, very angry.
"I'm Salamander! The fire dragon," The Salamander said, producing more fire, to which Ken's friend seemed extremely unimpressed as he tossed it between his hands. "I'm known throughout the land as a dragon slayer, the ladies love me even more. It must ring a bell now right?"
Again, Ken's friend seemed very unimpressed. "Um… yeah no, not at all."
"NATSU!" Ken yelled, finally getting through the crowd. "Wait he's-."
"YOU JERKS!"
"HOW DARE YOU?!"
"DON'T YOU DISREPSECT HIM LIKE THAT!"
"HE'S WAY TOO COOL FOR YOU!"
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"KEN!" Lucy yelled, as she could only watch helplessly as the group of rabid fangirls leaped ontop of Ken and his friend.
She could only stand with a hand over her mouth as they were kicked, thrown, elbow, had their hair pulled, and when the crowd finally dispersed, both of them were starry eyes on their backs, even the cat hadn't been spared.
The pink haired boy groaned. "Ugh is… is that you… Ken?"
"Y…yeah," Ken groaned, rubbing his eyes. "Why does this always happen to me…"
"Now ladies please!" The 'Salamander' said, walking to the two of them just as they came too, all the girls giving their wrapped attention. "It's not their fault at all, we shouldn't attack them for simply not knowing greatness! Here, why don't the two of you take this as a souvenir, don't fight over it now."
Does he… just carry signed pictures of himself in his pants? Lucy wondered, as he watched the Salamander drop a signed picture of himself in-between Ken and his friend.
"OH!" Salamander said, snapping as a stream of fire whisked him off his feet. "I forgot to mention, I'm having a party tonight on my yacht, and you're all invited!"
The girls all cheered as he flew away on his stream of fire. Lucy watched him go with a disgusting feeling in her stomach. How could people really use magic for something like that? It completely defeated the purpose, she liked to think she would have thrown off the charms effects herself, but was thankful Ken was there to help her out.
But as she watched him groggily sit up with his friend and their flying cat, she remembered what he had explained to her. He'd… used his magic energy to erase the effects of Salamander's charm? Surely that meant Ken used some kind of healing magic, magic that could dispel curses, charms, and restore magic energy. It would have made sense to Lucy, Ken so far that she'd seen was really soft-spoken, kind, with a cute smile and soft eyes.
It would have made sense for him to be a healer to her, but of course she knew that there normally was more to people then met the eye. Ken had made it out like he controlled magic energy itself, which to her knowledge wasn't possible for a regular wizard.
And I never even asked him what guild he was in, that was really rude of… oh god Ken!
"Ken!" Lucy yelled, rushing forward, as he and his friend rubbed the backs of their heads. "Are you okay?"
Ken groaned and sighed. "Yeah… surprisingly enough this isn't the first time this has happened to me."
"Huh? Seriously?" Lucy asked curiously.
His friend laughed. "Ha, just happened last week. Oh um… who are you?"
Lucy jumped back, but thankfully Ken introduced her.
"Oh, Natsu, this is my new friend Lucy," Ken said, as he finally got to his feet. "Lucy, this is Natsu he makes flames twice as good as that fake salamander."
Lucy quickly looked and smiled at Ken's friend. "Oh, well it's nice to meet you Natsu."
Natsu sighed, but smiled just as big as Ken did. "Any friend of Ken's is cool by me!"
Lucy smiled, and looked at Ken who was embarrassed, and she realized that must happen with him often.
He looked at Lucy and nodded. "So, Lucy still wanna have lunch?"
Her heart skipped a beat again, I had almost forgotten!
"Oh of course!" She said, meeting his eyes. "That is if you still want too."
"Course I do! What do you say Natsu, hungry?" He said, looking to his friend.
Natsu scoffed. "I'm starving! Thanks Lucy!"
"Oh, it's no problem, Ken's helped me out, it's the least I can do."
Ken clapped. "Okay! Let's get… wait a minute, where's Happy?"
"H…here sir…!" A tired voice said.
Lucy jumped out of her skin as she turned and saw the cat upside-down in a barrel.
"Happy!" Ken yelled, rushing over to it.
"We're coming buddy!" Natsu yelled rushing over as well.
Lucy watched them go… and couldn't help but laugh. It looked like today was still turning out to be a pretty good day.

Kenshin
COME ON KEN YOU STUPID IDIOT! YOU'RE BUNGLING THIS! AND NATSU ISN'T HELPING, he screamed at himself, watching Natsu and Happy just keep adding to the every growing stack of dishes next to them, Lucy sitting next to him. WILL YOU PLEASE AT LEAST USE A FORK YOU CRAZY DRAGON!
"Wow Ken you… certainly weren't lying when you said he eats a lot ha…" Lucy said nervously next to her, as they both watched Natsu stick a whole chicken leg in his mouth.
Ken nervously tapped his foot. "Ha… yeah he can eat! Come on now Natsu, use a FORK at least!"
"OW!" Natsu yelled after Ken kicked his shin under the table. "What's the big idea Ken?!"
"Lucy and I are footing the bill so please… slow down," Ken said, trying not to look at Lucy.
Happy meanwhile fell on his back, his tiny stomach round. "Ugh… that was so good, thanks Ken and Lucy!"
"Oh, it's no problem!" Lucy said, smiling now as she looked between them. "If not for you both showing up when you did, I could still be under that fake Salamander's spell!"
Ken smiled as she looked at him but cursed himself for feeling so tingly inside. Her big brown eyes were so pretty he couldn't help it though. It wasn't anything against the girls of Fairy Tail, or any others that he'd ever met… but Lucy was probably the most beautiful person Ken had ever seen, and he really, really meant it. It had been sheer luck that he was there to catch her when she fell off that counter, and thankfully he'd wiped his hands before shaking hers, so she didn't realize how sweaty his palms were the entire time they'd been talking.
Loke had always told Ken that despite his popularity, cute girls wouldn't just fall into his arms.
Shows what he knows… Ken thought, as she looked over at him. He hoped she couldn't see how he tensed up. Talking to her had been surprisingly easy, she paid attention, had a really cute smile, and he somehow managed at first not to stumble over his words when he spoke.
But then she had to pull out that article! I swear, I'm gonna lock the doors next time that reporter comes, he cried in his head, trying not to look as nervous as he felt.
He had only done the photoshoot because he lost a bet to Cana, which he right away regretted. She used card magic and for some reason Ken had thought it a good idea to play cards with her. He had no more to bet and had been so sure his next hand would have won, and then Cana put doing the photoshoot on the line instead. Ken accepted, and Ken had lost.
That had been about two months ago, and they'd been putting his picture and article in every issue since. The most embarrassing part was it was a swimsuit issue, and he looked like Gray with no shirt and just a bathing suit on. Every since he'd had to change his hair color each time he'd gone out.
It wasn't as if Ken hadn't been known at all before the article came out. He was an S class wizard after all, he had gotten to the rank a year before even Erza did. He did a few interviews, but the article and photoshoot had been the first time he was really in the public spotlight.
And that was how Ken learned, he hated being in the public spotlight. Everyone at Fairy Tail? He could talk, party, hang out with them for hours. But he'd never been good with anyone outside the guild, he'd never forget when he first arrived. If not for finding Erza who happened to be on her way to the guild then as well, he really may not have even walked through the doors, despite his step-father promising that he'd be accepted right away.
"Oh that? No problem at all… I think?" Natsu said, looking at Happy. "Did you do something to help her?"
"No sir," Happy said, looking over at Ken. "Must have been all you Ken!"
Ken chuckled nervously and looked at Lucy. "We were happy to help, they were too. But it's like you told me, you probably would have shaken it off by yourself."
Lucy chuckled. "Ha… well, either way thanks a lot, the both of you. So, Ken, you said you and Natsu here are in a guild right? You're on your way back?"
Crap… do I tell her? She was so excited about Fairy Tail, and if she wants to come anyway… he wondered, looking at how excited she looked. He felt his stomach churning, he wanted to just tell Lucy he and Natsu were part of Fairy Tail, he'd wanted to tell her the minute she pulled out the issue of Sorcerer Weekly. He hadn't seen her use her Celestial Gate Keys yet, but just from her personality, how passionate she was about magic, she'd be the perfect addition. But…..
But if she figures out that's me in that article she's gonna think I'm some playboy! Not to mention then she'll ask me why I didn't tell her, and if I do I'll just seem pathetic so either way I lose! Come on Ken, think, think of something to say!
"Oh um… yeah, haha we're on our way back to our guild," Ken said, looking over at Natsu. "We haven't been back in a while like I was telling you."
Natsu let out a massive sigh after stuffing his face and leaned back. "You can say that again! Although, I am a bit disappointed we didn't find Igneel here."
Lucy nodded but looked confused. "Yeah, Ken told me you were looking for a… dragon? Seriously, a real dragon?"'
"Aha!" Happy said from the table. "We've been looking with Ken for Igneel for years, he's helped us, and we've helped him look for his brother!"
"That's right, cause that's what buddies do," Natsu said smiling over at Ken. "Don't know where I'd be without you buddy!"
"Ha… thanks Natsu," Ken said, managing to calm down. Nervously however, he chuckled and met his eyes. "Just um… hearing about a salamander in town… you didn't, really think it was Igneel right?"
"Huh, why couldn't it have been?" Natsu asked.
Lucy shook her head. "Why… would a dragon be in the middle of town?"
Natsu stammered, looking confused for a second, before he turned to Happy who looked equally confused. It took them a few seconds, but Ken saw that they eventually got what Lucy was saying. Ken was glad she'd said it, he hadn't wanted to be the one to break the news to his best-friend.
Lucy chuckled again, and looked at him. "So, I never asked you. What guild are you both in?"
"Oh! Um… well… you probably wouldn't know it," Ken said, nervously picking up and sipping the coffee that he had ordered. "It's small, not really that import-."
"Huh? What the heck are you talking about Ken?" Natsu said, scoffing and turning to Lucy with an excited gleam in his eyes. "Our guilds the best there is nobodies better! We kick butt all the time, we're in the-. YEOW!"
"It's not polite to boast Natsu Hahahaha… ha…" Ken said after kicking him under the table. He turned to Lucy. "Like I said, we're not a big deal. What about you Lucy, what are you gonna do?"
She looked disappointed at first, which almost broke him, but she recovered and smiled at him. "Oh, it's like I was telling you, I'm gonna head to Magnolia in a few days. Any… chance you guys are going to be heading the same way?"
Ken nearly did explode there. He subconsciously made sure his hair was still blonde, and nervously nodded.
"Yeah but… we'll probably check out some of the spots on those maps I bought," He said, quickly thinking of something. "My brother liked visiting spots when we were little with large amounts of magical history, so who knows maybe we can find some clues. But I'm sure we'll be back at Magnolia within the next few days."
"Huh?" Natsu said, utterly confused now. "What in the world are you-. OW!"
Ken kicked him under the table again, thankfully Lucy didn't notice. Instead, she just looked down disappointed for a minute. Ken's heart was going a mile a minute. He wouldn't let this chance slip. No, he wanted to see her again, but first he'd get back to the guild, think of a reason for not telling her who he was, ask Loke for advice, and then go from there. He was sure she'd get to the guild, when she did he'd tell her the truth and go from there!
Or… maybe Loke isn't the best to ask. Who though? Cana? Makow maybe? He is married after all. Huh, I wonder if maybe Erza would know…. Oh, who am I kidding, I'll probably just ask Mira.
He hated seeing her disappointed then, but as was becoming the norm he believed, she smiled through it.
"Oh… well, I'll be in Magnolia within the next few days," She said, smiling from her seat as she met his eyes. "Would you maybe wanna do this again? I'll be a member of Fairy Tail by then, I can tell you all about it!"
Ken quickly eyed Natsu, who was going to say something, but when he realized Ken would kick him again he shut up.
He turned back to her, her brown eyes were big. Her white and blue outfit was cute, and he felt bad all over again for lying, but a mixture of embarrassment and shame stopped him from saying anything about it. This is what he got for being so anti-social for all those years outside of Fairy Tail. Inside the guild however… it was impossible to not be social in that guild hall.
"I would really like that," Ken said, meeting her smile and trying not to show her nerves. "It's a promise!"
"Good!" She said, getting up from her seat. "Well it… was nice meeting you Ken. And you too, Natsu, Happy."
"Yeah… you too Lucy," Ken said back.
Natsu smiled wide and nodded. "Ha and thank you for the grub Lucy you're really nice!"
"Aye! We can't thank you enough!" A stuffed Happy said from the table.
"Oh, it was no problem really!" Lucy said, looking at him one more time and smiling. "Thanks for all your help today Ken, I really hope I see you soon!"
She moved towards the door as she waved, and Ken's heart didn't stop thumping loud. He waved to her and made sure to keep his eye on her until she had left the café that they had come too. Once she did, she turned and with a loud thump his head hit the table.
"Oh man… I really messed that up," He groaned, as despite the food he had just ate his stomach felt empty.
"Hey Ken, what's the deal man!" Natsu said. "Why didn't you just tell her we were in Fairy Tail, she said she wanted to join right?"
"Yeah…" Ken groaned again, sitting up and looking into his coffee. "I was gonna tell her, but then she pulled out that stupid Sorcerer Weekly Article with me in it. She went on about how awesome Fairy Tail and Kenshin Kokoro were."
Natsu looked at him confused. "But I don't get it, you are awesome Ken!"
"Thanks… but I just didn't want her to think I'm some scummy celebrity," He said with a sigh, annoyed with himself. "Still, I definitely should have at least said something. I just well I-."
"You liiiiiikkkkeeee heeerrrrrrr!" Happy said, his wings popping out as he floated over. "Ken liikkeeesss her- YAH!"
Ken grabbed the cats tail and yanked him to the table. "Quiet furball…"
Happy wasn't lying, he did really like the person he'd come to know in the last hour or so. However, he also knew that he had a lot more important things to focus on then a pretty girl he had met. He looked up at Natsu who was finishing off a chicken leg. The truth of the matter was, Master Makarov would be upset that they stayed longer then intended… but Ken had been so sure their lead was good this time.
He was nineteen now. His brother had been missing since he was fifteen. Four years he'd been looking. Caria would be eighteen now, Ken wondered all the time if he still looked just like him. He hated having to go back to his monthly visit to the village and reporting to his step-father and Aria that he hadn't found him yet.
It had to change soon… he'd make it change.
Natsu belched and then looked at him. "Don't know about all that… but you said you got some maps Ken?"
Ken nodded and sighed. "Yeah, we should stop by some of the sites on the way to Magnolia. Still, we should be there within a day or two."
Natsu must have noticed his dejection so smiled and shot him a thumbs up. "Don't worry Ken, we'll find him soon."
Ken managed to smile at him. "I appreciate it Natsu… seriously I do. I just need to do it soon, my mother well…"
"She still didn't look so hot…" Natsu said, folding his arms. "I'm sorry man."
"Don't apologize," Ken said, not wanting to remember his mothers' eyes then. "I just appreciate all your help buddy. Especially when we go to the village."
Natsu smiled. "Ha, you kidding me I love going! That sister of yours is gonna be strong as anything, she's coming to join the guild soon right?"
Ken scoffed at that. "It'll cause me a headache having to look after her if she did. Speaking of… we should probably go check out around town find somewhere to stay for the night."
Ken stood from the booth, sighing, and reaching up to his head again. "Trace magic structure… now, project! Illusion magic… blonde."
He felt the spell take effect, he knew it'd stay like that for a while. As much as he wanted to put how to talk to Lucy at the forefront of his mind, he pushed it aside for the moment.
Gently, he grabbed the half a wing around his neck and squeezed, where are you hiding Caria? Honestly…I'm going to need more help soon, I have to find you, it's mom's only hope at this point.

Lucy
"Oh man… did he just not like me?" Lucy wondered out loud as she laid on the bench looking up at the magazine. "Either way… they're certainly an odd pairing."
He seemed more nervous at lunch… oh well, at least he said I'd see him in Magnolia, she said, smiling at the idea as she turned to the next page. I'll be in Fairy Tail then, just like all these wizards, Mirajane, Erza Scarlett, Kenshin Kokoro.
The picture of the Angel of Fairy Tail was who she looked at now. He stood posing near a beach next to Mirajane and Erza Scarlett, in nothing but a black bathing suit. Lucy wouldn't be afraid to admit how much she loved this issue with him in it. He was an S class wizard only being two years older than her! He'd done a few interviews, but never put his face out into Sorcerer Weekly like this before, it had never been anything more then a headshot, but now he was on the cover!
She didn't know what convinced him to do the interview, but now everyone was talking about him. Her eyes trailed over his picture, he was tall, muscled, with messy white hair down to around his ears, with eyes that were really, really blue. He was probably one of the cutest boys she'd ever seen, and the idea of getting to meet him at Fairy Tail?! It was amazing!
But… what I really like, she said, turning to see the interview he'd done.
She moved to sit up and read through it again, and was just as amazed as the first time she did. He'd explained to the interviewer about his magic, not in too much detail, but everyone finally got to know why he was nicknamed the 'Angel of Fairy Tail'. It was because he was quite literally the son of an angel, someone with celestial power of magic energy itself, that was what made him special. Because he was the son of an angel, he could absorb magic power from around him, and use it apparently do all sorts of other magic as well.
"His guild mates call him the 'Angel of Fairy Tail', or 'The Copy Wizard'," Lucy read, smiling as she felt herself giddy again. "Oh man, I can't believe Fairy Tail really has someone that strong! I can't wait to join… I'll need to get moving soon-."
"Ah! There you are I've finally found you!"
"GAHHHHHHH!" Lucy jumped, leaping from her seat to turn around, and when she did she panicked. "GAH! Fake Salamander!"
The man jumped himself, and Lucy was right away on alert. It was still early in the afternoon, but not many people were around the bench she'd decided to take a break on. She remembered earlier Ken using his magic to help her, whatever he'd done, she still felt like a million jewel, she felt more magic power in her than then she had in a long time, but she wouldn't need a spirit to deal with a creep like this.
He stood and held up his hands, still looking calm as could be but Lucy didn't let her guard down.
"Oh my, you don't have to be insulting like that now," The man said, trying to laugh it off as he tossed back his hair. "I had been looking for you, I couldn't help but notice you in the crowd earlier."
Lucy scoffed. "You only noticed me because I didn't fall for your stupid illegal charm! I'm far too powerful a wizard for that!"
He looked confused, dropping the act for a minute. "You mean, your boyfriend cast some magic to wipe the effects?"
Lucy's eyes widened and she groaned. "Well I mean… he said I would have shook it off any… wait boyfriend?! He's not my boyfriend, no not at all! I just met him today it's not like we're dating or anything, I'm not that easy after all! I mean he's cute yes, and really sweet, his smile's cute and while I normally wouldn't date blondes, I think I could make an exception-."
"Alright, not your boyfriend I understand," he said, holding up his hands to stop her. "It certainly is his loss if he isn't."
Lucy realized then she'd started rambling and was annoyed with herself. She groaned and turned her back to the fake salamander. Ken had told her Natsu was a fire wizard, and that his flames would have made the ones the fake salamander produce look like nothing and she wanted to believe that.
Saying that, made her only wish that Ken had offered to let her travel with them. If she was going to join Fairy Tail, traveling with what seemed to be experienced wizards could have been good for her. Still, he said she'd see him in Magnolia, she didn't know of any guilds outside of Fairy Tail in the town, so she assumed maybe they would just be stopping there.
Either way, she needed to get moving herself.
"Whatever!" She shouted back at the fake salamander. "You're lucky me and Ken didn't report you for using illegal magic! Now get away, I don't want anything to do with you!"
"Woah, easy I just wanted to talk!" He pleaded, reaching to the ground, and coming back up with a smile again. "You're trying to join Fairy Tail I see…. Yes, I could probably get you in."
Lucy's jaw dropped. "Huh?! You are a member of Fairy Tail?"
"But of course, I'm the salamander of Fairy Tale," He winked, flipping the pages of her magazine. "Ah yes, my friend Kenshin Kokoro. I'll tell you, he's just as impressive in person. I could get you into the guild and introduce you not problem."
He turned the magazine around to the picture of the Angel of Fairy Tail again and Lucy froze, biting her lip. She tried to contain any excitement, it was too good to be true… but she knew she would probably need some kind of recommendation to get into the guild.
"You're… being serious?!" She said, failing to not get excited. "You can really get me into the guild?"
"Of course, I can! And between you and me, my friend Kenshin says blondes are his type," He said, winking at her before smirking. "All you gotta do is not mention that charm spell to anyone, and come to the party I'm having on my yacht later tonight!"
Lucy looked down at the magazine again, his… his type?!
Finally she bit her lip and let the excitement take over. "You got it!"
"Fantastic!" He said, snapping and summoning his fire. It carried him up into the air as he looked down at her. "Then I'll see you at the port! Seven o'clock sharp tonight!"
"You got it Mr. Salamander!" She yelled watching the man float away on his fire, before the realization of what she'd just did set in. "Wait… was he using the charm again…? Dangit!"
She was embarrassed to have fallen under it so easy again, but she pushed it aside, this had turned out well in her favor. That day, she'd gotten to meet a cute boy who she could potentially be interested in… and she was going to get into Fairy Tail!
"He may be creep but…" She said, letting the excitement bubble over. "But I'm going to get into Fairy Tail!"

Kenshin
"Alright, we're all paid for the night," He said, walking up to lean over the railing next to Natsu. "I know we ate earlier, but I ordered room service. Got some mackerel for you Happy."
"You're the best Ken!" Happy cheered, floating down right between the both of them.
Ken smiled. "Ha, I try. We'll say for a day? How's that sound… Natsu?"
"Huh?" His dragon-slayer friend said, turning and looking at him. "Oh, yeah sounds like a plan."
"You okay?" Ken asked, knowing the answer."
Natsu sighed and looked out over the lit town, over the water with him. "Yeah, I'm alright you know me."
"I do that's for sure, just like you know me," Ken said, looking over and nudging him with his elbow. "Don't worry. We'll find Igneel eventually."
"Yeah, he's right Natsu," Happy said from between them. "So long as the three of us keep working together like we have been we're sure to find him!"
That had been what brought them together. As hard or easy as it was to believe, he and Natsu hadn't really liked each other at first. To start off, Ken was just as tall as Natsu, just as muscled, and only a year older. Ken had joined Fairy Tail eight years ago, after Natsu already had been at Fairy Tail, so a guy coming in only a year old, his height and build, and as cocky as Ken was when he was younger, naturally Natsu being Natsu had challenged him to lots of fights.
Despite Erza and he coming to the guild hall together, she'd broken up more fight between he, Natsu and Gray then Ken liked to remember. Ken had better control over his magic at a younger age, which led him to winning a lot of those fights, which only made Natsu more annoyed, and when he got more annoyed, Ken got more annoyed, and so on they went, truly despising each other for years.
But then, Ken had figured out about Igneel, and Natsu had figured out about Ken's father.
Both of them had come to Fairy Tail for the same reason. To become stronger, so that one day they could find their father again, so that maybe they'd come back. It was their dream, and ever since then, that had been their goal, to get their together.
Of course, as of four years ago, Ken had added finding his brother to the list, but that hadn't changed their bond together. Ken never questioned when Natsu asked him to go on a quest, go look into a lead on a dragon, and the same worked the other way around. Especially recently, Natsu had gone on every adventure or quest Ken thought would even give him the slightest lead on his brothers whereabouts.
Ken had pulled ahead in terms of being a wizard, he'd made S class a few years ago, but he knew the ranking really didn't mean too much. Natsu was just beginning to unlock the real power of his dragon-slayer magic. Ken's blood gave him control over pure magical power, the ability to absorb it, copy other peoples magic, he was great with his sword, could fly… but he knew better then to ever underestimate Natsu. He'd been the reason Ken was able to grow so strong because he knew Natsu was always right behind him.
And one day, he'd need all that strength.
"Thanks you guy, what would I do without ya!" Natsu said, seeming to feel better as he turned and leaned against the railing. "So, Ken do you know the next time you're heading up to your village?"
Ken smiled, not seeing Natsu fired up was always disheartening, however, he'd learned over the years Natsu was the best person to know if you needed a pick me up.
"Not for another few weeks," Ken said, leaning looking out over the harbor at the yacht that was pulling out of the dock. "My step-dad's got it covered, and I should be a while before I need the springs again."
"Oh man, those hot springs really are something else!" Natsu said excitedly. "I can't wait to get back in them, what do you say Happy?"
"Aye! They really were great, I could have relaxed all day," The cat said, floating up in front of Ken's face. "But what I wanna know Ken, is what you're gonna say to that Lucy girl next time you see her!"
Ken gagged, as even Natsu smirked at him. It was weird not seeing Natsu's biceps with his coat on, but still that smirk was also just as unsettling. It was getting late, and the cold wind was starting to get to him, the last thing he wanted to do then was talk about Lucy again and remind himself how much he had messed up a golden opportunity with a pretty girl.
He groaned and rubbed his hands over his face. "I don't wanna talk about it. Loke will never let me live-."
"Hey, did you hear salamander is having a party on his yacht?!" Someone who was walking by said, making Ken freeze, as well as Natsu and Happy.
Ken turned, and two girl who he remembered putting a shoe in his face earlier walked by. They were chatting, and with each word a chill ran down Ken's spine. He remembered that scumbag who was using illegal magic earlier mentioning a party on his yacht. He had assumed that the guy wasn't any harm, despite the fact the magic he was using had annoyed Ken to no end.
He also had been thankful he'd been there to help Lucy when he had.
"Yeah, I was gonna go!" One the other girl said. "Did you hear he's a member of Fairy Tail?!"
"Yeah! So cool, maybe he knows Kenshin Kokoro!"
Ken ignored the mention of his name. His apprehension and disgust quickly changed to annoyance, and as usual when he got annoyed, he got angry. And when he got angry, his magic acted up. He could feel it starting to swirl inside his chest. Since Ken's father was an angel who could manipulate pure magic energy itself, Ken could do that as well. Growing up, his mother and step-father in the village had taught him, that he needed to be careful, because sometimes Ken would control it unwilling or unknowingly. It reacted to his emotions, when he was calm, it was calm, when he was excited it swirled and hummed pleasantly in his chest.
But when he was angry, the magic churned like the waves of the sea in a storm. If he didn't get it under control, it could even be seen around him, and that could be dangerous for everyone. Ken had been a hothead when he was younger, it was only thanks to years of training at Fairy Tail and learning more from his step-father that Ken had managed to curve his temper, and gain the level of control he had now.
Sometimes however, it came back, especially times like now, when someone was using Fairy Tail's name to do scummy things like this guy was. He looked over at Natsu, who just like him when he had heard Fairy Tail mentioned narrowed his eyes back over the railing out over the bay. Both of their eyes narrowed towards the ship that they knew had to be that fake salamander's boat.
Ken's fists clenched, and just out of his vision to the left, he could see a bright bluish green light begin to swirl. He sucked in a breath and turned to Natsu and Happy, even Happy looked angry, his wings popped out and he flew over Natsu's back.
"So, we going?" Natsu asked. Ken was impressed, he had to be really annoyed if he was willing to go out onto a boat.
Ken let out a sigh to calm his anger and looked up out at the yacht, misty bluish green magic floating out of his eyes.
"Yeah come on," Ken said, holding his hand above his head towards the night sky and letting out a breath, feeling the magic power around him flow around his body. "Now… lash! Race you Happy!"
"Hey that's not fair, I'm not as fast carrying Natsu!" The Cat complained.
"I'm not that heavy shut up!" Natsu yelled up at his partner.
Ken smiled, as the minute after he'd let the magic flow around his body he'd leapt up into the sky. He'd never forget the first time he flew, it had been with his mother, brother and younger sister when he had been 8. By surrounding himself with magical energy, and pushing and pulling the magic energy around him, he could lift or lash himself in different directions including upwards to soar through the sky.
So, after he was high above the buildings of Hargeon-Happy floating next to him with Natsu- he turned and narrowed his eyes towards the ship out in the distance. He lashed himself forward, and soared through the air, the wind blew back his hair and froze his face, but all he did was keep his eyes on that ship, not wanting to let it get too far away.
The illusion he cast on his hair had worn off, and now his white hair blew backwards as he flew through the night sky.

Lucy
Lucy felt naked. She watched helplessly as her gate keys flew out the window. Around her, she saw the unconscious girls slung over the shoulders of dozens of men, and fake salamander with flames in his hands. Her body trembled, even her whip was gone thanks to her wearing a dress, so all she could do was back up and look at the sick faces of the men around her. They were smirking, laughing as if the whole entire thing was funny. Her teeth grinded, as she tried to formulate some plan of escape.
"People like you… you make me sick!" She yelled, looking between them all trying to buy as much time as she could to find a way out. "Using magic like this… to hurt people, to take advantage of them, how could you live with yourself?!"
Fake Salamander scoffed. "I don't have to sit here and reason with you little girl. Go on, grab her, we need to get to the next port before an authorities arrive."
"Don't ignore me!" Lucy yelled, as one guy came for her, and she backed up quickly. "Don't touch me you freak! I swear, you're gonna regret this I'll-."
"You'll do what?" The fake salamander said. "You think knight in shining armor is going to-."
CRASH! Lucy and everyone else screamed, as the boat rocked like they'd just steered right into a storm. Everyone fell, but Lucy was the first one to get to her feet. She looked to the window and didn't see any signs of a storm but… realized that the boat had… stopped. It had stopped completely in its tracks, and all she could see looking outside was a bright misty bluish green light, one that looked vaguely familiar.
She didn't have time to think any more on it, because after she realized and was mesmerized by the light the fake salamander and his men all stood. She tried to slip away, but the boat shook again, and they all stumbled. Some of the men started yelling out to each other, but fake salamander rush to the window, an annoyed and angry look on his face, he turned back to his men.
"What the hell is going on why did we stop?!" He shouted to his men.
"I don't know sir, I think it's some kind of magic!" One of his men shouted back.
Lucy started to panic as well, she needed to get away before her gate keys were too far lost. If she lost all of her spirits she didn't know what she'd do with herself. She tried to get out of the cabin, but the exit was blocked, and when she turned fake salamander growled again.
"Was this you little girl?!" He shouted at her.
Lucy scoffed. "You think I could stop a ship?! I have no idea who-."
"HEADS UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!"
CRASH! The roof caved in and Lucy jumped back just in time before the wood and other parts of the ceiling fell to the ground. A large puff of smoke and dust shot up in the center of the room, Lucy was stuck behind fake salamander who stood in front of her. He and more then a dozen of his men were all staring at the center of the room, some had weapons, Lucy saw magic in the hands of others, and fake salamander himself even had fire in his hands.
"What the hell is this?!" He yelled, throwing his fire forward. "Don't think you'll get away with-."
"NO STOP!" Lucy yelled, as the silhouette of a person started taking shape in the dust.
The fire shot forward and Lucy had to look away, but before she did she saw a large burst of bluish green light erupt from the dust. It blew it all away, her hair was knocked loose, her blonde hair blowing back behind her back as the flames smashed against what she could see now was some kind of magic shield. It wasn't like anything she'd ever seen before, and the color was more beautiful then anything she'd ever seen.
The flames disappeared, and when they did, the smoke finally did as well.
And Lucy's jaw almost fell off her head from how quick it fell.
"You know, you and your puny flames are really starting to piss me off," The person said, and when she could finally see him clearly, she saw he was angry. "And you're going around claiming to be a part of Fairy Tail?! Don't make me laugh you're pathetic… huh?! Lucy?!"
Lucy could barely speak, her brain was friend like she'd been struck by lightning. She fell back on her butt in the middle of all the men, as all she could do was look up at him. The light made his white hair shine bright, he had on a long brown coat over a white shirt with boots and black pants. He radiated what she could only assume was pure magic energy itself completely around his body. She realized that he'd been hovering in place over the floor before finally letting his feet touch the ground.
The thing that surprised her the most however…
"You… you know… my… my name…" She stammered from the ground, every around them too stunned to move. "How…? You… you're-."
"Boss! We're in trouble!" One of fake salamanders men said. "I know this guy! Everyone knows this guy lately he's-."
"You…." Fake salamander started, grinding his teeth annoyed. "You're the Angel of Fairy Tail, you're-."
"Kenshin Kokoro…" Lucy finished, barely able to string his name together. "But… but I don't get it. How did you know my name?!"
Kenshin scrunched together his eyebrows. "Huh? What are you talking about Lucy we… oh, yeah, that's right…"
Is… is Kenshin Kokoro blushing?!
He was, his face got red, as he sighed and held his hands up to his head. "Trace magic structure… project! Illusion magic, re-color, blonde!"
And Lucy's jaw dropped again.
"K…KEN?!" Lucy yelled, unable to believe what she was seeing. His hair changed colors, going from the silvery white that it had just been, to the same color as hers blonde.
And it was him, the boy who she'd been blushing at, laughing with, and had saved her from falling earlier that day. A gust of wind blew through the boat, and from around his neck, Lucy saw a pendant come out from under his shirt. It was an angel wing, the same exact one that Ken had been wearing earlier, and Lucy suddenly wanted to curse herself for being so stupid. She knew she recognized that necklace.
It was the one Kenshin Kokoro had on during his photoshoot.
"Yeah… look, I'll explain things and apologize later, for now, let me get you out of here," he said, reaching to his pocket while keeping an eye on the all the men. "Here, I'm guessing these are yours, I saw them fly out of the ship before I stopped it."
Lucy's eyes widened. "My gate keys!"
Ken tossed them past fake salamander and into Lucy's hands. She caught them and shot to her feet, suddenly smiling and feeling as if she could do something again. One of the men tried to grab her, but she shot forward as she caught her keys, rolling past fake salamander and only a few steps away from Kenshin who still stood under his hole in the ceiling.
She finally got a good look at him, as he reached up to his head and undid the blonde enchantment, his hair turning back to white. Lucy finally got a good look at him, as his eyes turned back to fake salamander and his men. She tried not to be starstruck, the guy she'd been looking at on a magazine cover for the last month, one of the reasons she'd wanted to join Fairy Tail was really right next to him!
That made her realize something else.
I… I HAD LUNCH WITH KENSHIN KOKORO! HE SAID HE WANTED TO SEE ME AGAIN!
"Lucy," He said, and the hearts in her eyes disappeared. "You got some spirits that could help us out here? I don't like getting surrounded."
His tone was a lot more serious now, but Lucy quickly shook herself out of her stupor, and nodded. She stood next to him, and looked down fake salamander and his men.
"You bet I do Kenshin!" She said, feeling her heart start to race. "I'll get you some backup!"
"Thanks… and please, just Ken," He said, cracking his fingers as he looked over at fake salamander. "Okay, you got two options, come in quietly, or I knock you out and drag your ship back to Hargeon."
He… he seems really serious. But he should be, I'll show him what I can do! Lucy thought determined.
Fake salamander scoffed. "You think I'm afraid of some wannabe swimsuit model? Please, don't make me laugh. Get him, we can't let him report us back to the magic council!"
Ken's eye twitched. "Oh, you'll eat those words. I'm gonna kick you ass-."
"GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"AH!" Lucy yelled, jumping out of the way.
CRASH!
Dust shot up again, as Lucy scrambled back up to her feet. She looked back to where Ken had been, and realized he was now on the ground, groaning with someone on his back.
"Owwww! Dammit Natsu," Ken groaned, still on his stomach but looking at the pink-haired boy that was now over his back. "You ruined my monologue, Happy! Watch where you drop him!"
"Sorry Ken, he got too heavy!" Another voice said, and Lucy looked up to see Happy-now with wings floating above the hole. "Oh, hey Lucy!"
"Happy! You… you have wings now?!" She yelled up to the cat.
"Aha, always had them!" The cat said happily, looking to Ken. "How's Natsu Ken?!"
"Oh… oh god… please get… get me off," Lucy heard Natsu groan, completely seasick as he laid on Ken's back.
"Go on! They ain't moving get them!" Fake salamander urged his men.
Lucy turned wide eyed, panicked, and went for a key, but Ken from the ground shot out his hand.
"Shirudo!" Ken yelled, as a massive shield of the bluish-green magic shot upwards, intercepting fake salamanders fire and more magic attacks from the men. He pushed Natsu off him and got to his knee, looking to Lucy and then upwards. "Happy! Grab Lucy and get out of here!"
"What?!" Lucy protested, looking back to him. "But I can help I swear! I can summon-."
"I'm sure you could I don't doubt it, but this guy's impersonating a Fairy Tail wizard, so this is Fairy Tail business!" He said, getting up and holding up his hand which held his magic shield. He turned around and met her eyes again. "You'll be one soon, but for now just keep yourself safe alright?! Happy!"
"Aye sir!" Happy yelled, and before Lucy could protest again Happy shot down and she felt herself being yanked up in the air.
I… I'll be one soon… Lucy thought as she was pulled up from the ship.
"You… you're heavy Lucy!" Happy complained.
Lucy's anger shot up. "I am not you better not drop me cat! I swear I'll… wait, that's it!"
"Wh…what's it?!" Happy yelled, as they flew just away from the yacht.
Lucy looked back and heard some explosions and saw the ship shaking. She looked down to the water below them, before reaching to her waist, to the gate keys Ken had retrieved for her, and grabbed her most powerful key.
"Happy, drop me down into the water!" Lucy said, looking up at the cat with a smirk. "I have a plan to help!"
XxxxxxxxxxxxxxX
"AND DON'T YOU EVER DARE DROP MY KEY AGAIN! LET ALONE HAVE SOMEONE ELSE GRAB IT YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!"
"Yes, ma'am, we're sorry ma'am," Lucy and Happy both said, heads bowed in shame as they were soaked in front of Aquarius.
Her spirit scoffed. "Good, now don't bother summoning me again for a while, I'll be spending time with my boyfriend, something you have no idea about."
"You don't have to point that out!" Lucy yelled, before the mermaid disappeared in a puff back to the Celestial World.
Happy shuddered. "Oh man she was scary… but that was a good plan Lucy!"
"I don't think so, what about Natsu and Ken?!" She yelled, as she got to her feet on the beach, looking at the yacht that had crashed into the harbor, flames shooting up from all around it.
Aquarius had done her job, but also managed to sweep her up in the middle of it. It didn't matter to her then, all she was worried about was all oh salamanders men, at least more then two dozen starting to stir from the wreckage, just her and Happy were sitting ducks out there in the night with nowhere to go. The beach was empty, and she heard some people starting to yell about the fire that the ship crash had caused. She groaned as her bones were aching, Happy was perched on her shoulder but she didn't mind, at least she'd have company if she was attacked.
"Wha…. What the hell was that?!" Fake Salamander yelled, as his men all finally got up to their feet looking at the wreckage of the ship. "Where the hell did they go?!"
Lucy was beginning to worry now too, she looked to Happy on her shoulder. "K…Ken and Natsu? Are they well…"
Happy shook his head. "No need to worry about them! Ken can fly, so I'm sure he grabbed Natsu and got him out of there!"
Lucy's jaw dropped. "He… he can really fly?! I thought that was just a rumor!"
"Oh he can fly alright, not nearly as good as me but he can!" The cat said excitedly. "By controlling he magic energy present in the air, he can pull himself up into the air, and when he's there he can move himself around so he flies!"
"Woah… so that's how he and Natsu got to the ship," Lucy said, her eyes widening as she looked out onto the beach. "Oh no, they spotted us!"
Fake salamander groaned. "Get ahold of that little girl and stupid cat! After that, we need to get out of-."
"NOT GONNA HAPPEN! HAPPY!"
"AYE SIR!" Happy yelled back to the voice.
"Huh?! GAH!" Lucy yelled, as Happy grabbed her by the shoulders and carried her back up into the air. "What the heck is going on-."
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Lucy yelped as from the air, she looked and saw what could only be described as missiles shot form the sky. They smashed into the ground around the fake salamanders' men. One of them were knocked out, but the projectiles hit around the beach stopping any of them from getting away, and more importantly giving Happy time to pull Lucy from the beach. He dropped her just off the side of where the ship had crashed, and when she looked up Lucy's jaw dropped again.
"K…Ken, Natsu!" She yelled, relief washing over her.
"Ha, I told you they'd be okay!" Happy yelled from above her.
Lucy looked above her, and ontop of the overturned ship Ken stood there with Natsu. Flames shot up around behind them, but neither seemed bothered. Ken stood with his hand out, and behind him, dozens of magic circles in that same beautiful bluish green color had formed. He waved his hand forward, and from those circles the same missiles that had shot out before zipped forward to prevent and of the fake salamanders men from escaping.
"Woah… how… how does he do that?!" Lucy said, shaking her head. "I've never seen magic like that before."
"You ain't seen nothing yet!" Happy said with a pump of his fist. "Ken manipulates the magic energy around him, and can concentrate them into missiles like that, that's the least of his power."
Lucy looked back up at him, as he narrowed his eyes down towards the fake salamander and his men.
"So, you fancy yourself a Fairy Tail wizard huh? You think you can call yourself the salamander with those puny flames?!" Ken yelled down, not sounding like the soft gentle boy Lucy had thought he was. Around him, that bluish green light swirled and churned, it even came in a misty form out of his eyes.
Fake salamander growled and shot to the air riding his flames and formed them into his hands. He floated up across from Natsu and Ken and held the flames up above his head.
"Sorry but I ain't got time for the like of you!" He shouted holding out his attack. "I'll burn you to a crisp!"
"Ken, Natsu!" Lucy yelled, but neither of them seemed to be worried at all.
Ken scoffed and looked behind him. "What do you say Natsu? You ever seen him before?"
Natsu finally seemed to recover from being sea sick, because with a scary look to his eyes he stepped next to Ken and shook his head. "Never… some amateur like you going around pretending to be in Fairy Tail?! You'll pay for that you chump."
"URGHH! ENOUGH!" Fake salamander yelled, as he threw his flames forward, the massive torrent of fire shot towards the two boys.
"NO! KEN, NATSU RUN!" Lucy yelled, falling to her knees, but Happy landed next to her and shook his head.
"It's okay! That's nothing to the two of them!" The cat said excitedly.
"Huh?" Lucy said, looking up to where the flames had smashed into the ship. "What… what the heck is that?!"
The flames swirled around the two of them, but Ken had shot up his hand, that same magic shield protecting him, but Natsu hadn't done anything. He was consumed by the flames, before Lucy saw him rear back his head, and the flames that the fake salamander had shot were sucked right into his mouth, his stomach growing as after swallowing Natsu scoffed and wiped his mouth.
"Ha, that was a nice meal, thanks for the grub!" The pink-haired boy said, smashing his fists together. "Oh yeah, I'm all fired up now! What do you say Ken, let's show these idiots what real Fairy Tail wizards can do!"
"I'm with you there," Ken said, pulling off his coat and dropping it to the ground. "I say we show him what real fire looks like!"
Lucy's eyes widened, her chest beating hard as when they took off their coats she finally saw it. On Natsu's arm was the symbol of a dancing fairy, marking him as a member of the Fairy Tail guild. Ken, she looked and he held up his fist as it glew with magic energy. On the back of his right hand was the blue dancing fairy as well and that was when she really let it sink in just who these two are. She had read about them both, it had been the answer to one of Ken's interview questions.
"They… they're… the Angel and the Salamander," Lucy said breathlessly, unable to believe what she was seeing.
"Uh… hey boss, I remember reading something about a real salamander in Fairy Tail!" One of the men said, sounding scared sick. "They said he's a fire wizard, an part dragon!'
"That's them alright! Fairy Tail's strongest team!" Happy shouted pumping his two tiny cat fists. "The Angel of Fairy Tail and the Dragon Slayer! Kenshin Kokoro and Natsu Dragneel!"
"He… he really ate that fire!" Lucy yelled, still in disbelief.
Happy nodded as Ken and Natsu stepped to the edge of the ship. "Aha! It's Dragon-slayer magic, fire makes him stronger, he eats it and uses it to fuel his magic, and then when he's with Ken…."
"Alright, let's send these idiots into the ground!" Natsu yelled, smashing his fists together again, as he reared back his head again.
"Right!" Ken yelled, smashing his fists together in a similar way, the magic energy around him swirling and taking on a different orangish color. "Trace magic structure! Now… PROJECT! DRAGON-SLAYER MAGIC! FIRE DRAGON-."
Ken's stomach grew like Natsu's, he reared back his head like he was ready to scream. Next to him, Natsu did the same, their magic exploding around them.
"FIRE DRAGON….." He yelled.
"ROOOOAAARRRRRRR!"
"They… they both used the same spell! But how come Ken didn't need to eat flames?!" Lucy asked, as the two massive torrents of fire shot forward down towards the beach from their mouth.
Happy floated down and shook his head. "Because, Ken's control of magic energy may let him copy other peoples spells, and they'll be strong yeah, but they won't be nearly as powerful as the real thing! Ken's flames are a projection, a copy of Natsu's so they don't have the same power, but that doesn't mean they won't do damage!"
Lucy nodded, as the men scattered, and fake salamander shot into the air. "So he really can copy any kind of magic he's seen, that's so amazing!"
It made sense that there would be a handicap, if he had been able to copy the magic of everyone he saw that would make Ken unstoppable. However, still being able to use even a weakened version of a ton of different kinds of magic gave him a massive advantage. The fire spread through the beach, and a few of the men were knocked out, or caught fire and ran away screaming. Still, a good group of them stayed, as the fake salamander floated back down with his fire keeping him aloft.
"Argh dammit! Go! We can't let them turn us into the magic council!" He yelled, before all of his men nodded, screaming before rushing forward towards Ken and Natsu who just jumped down from the ship as they charged.
"Wanna take care of that guy and his tiny fire?" Ken yelled to Natsu.
Natsu scoffed. "Ha, he'll be no problem!"
Natsu jumped up with his fists on fire, and punched towards the fake salamander. The two bounced back and forth fighting in the air, but Lucy's eyes went down to Ken, who was being charged by at least a dozen huge men. Some shot magic, some rushed forward with swords, but Ken only stood there. His white hair blew back, and Lucy saw him hold up his hand again. The magic circles appeared behind him back again as the missiles of magic shot forward.
It stopped the men in their tracks, and Lucy looked at Ken as he glew with magic power, a clam look on his face. He jumped high into the air, landing behind the group of them, and smashing his fist into his palm, and when he did, the magic energy around him turned to mist. A chill ran down Lucy's spine, as she realized ice was starting to form in his fists.
"Trace magic structure, now project!" Ken yelled, slamming his hand into he ground. "ICE MAKE FLOOR!"
Lucy watched as ice shot from his fists. It covered the beach and when the men turned back around, they tried to rush forward but all tripped on the ice. The minute they did, Ken zipped forward as if he were skating over the ice. Lucy was about to yell for him to be careful, but when a few of them got past the ice and ran forward, they tried to smash into Ken with their fists full of magic, or with weapons, but Ken's arms and legs glew with magic power.
He dodged, moved around attacks like they were nothing. His fists were full of magic energy, and when one shot a blast of magic towards him, he punched it out of the air, stepped forward and spun. His foot came up and he kicked the guy into the ocean. Another came behind him, and Ken leaned forward just avoiding a sword and leapt up into the air and held himself there. He floated in the air and held his hand up, his magic swirling again.
"Trace magic structure, now project!" He yelled, and around him Lucy watched dozens of swords form into existence and aim down towards the men. "Now, go my swords!"
"Woah… he has some powerful magic he can project," Lucy said, as the swords knocked out at least six more of the men before he dropped back down to the ground. "Are those… spells from Fairy Tail members?"
"You bet! Ken has hundreds of spells he can use. All he has to do is see them enough times to see the technique the person uses," Happy told her. "The more times he sees them the more powerful the replica spell he uses become!"
"I think I get it… so, since he's always traveling with Natsu, that's why his fire looked so real," Lucy said, as Ken stood in front of the five remaining men.
"Aha! That's why, but Ken has plenty of powerful magic on his own, just watch!" Happy told her again, and Lucy looked back down to see the men shaking but still determined.
"Come on there's five of us and one of him!" One of them yelled. "If we all go at once we can get him, CHARGE!"
"Oh man, if they do all charge him what's he gonna do?!" Lucy yelled, shaking his head. "I know he's strong but…. Woah, that's beautiful."
Ken held out his hand as they all rushed towards him, narrowing his eyes, his white hair blasting back behind him as the magic swirled.
He let out a breath and light exploded into his hands. "Now… switch on! AERONDIGHT!"
"A magic sword?!" Lucy yelled, watching as the burst of light made the men stop. "I've never seen one like that!"
"They also call Ken the Magic Swordsman! His father gave him that sword," Happy told Lucy, as she watched Ken swing it in front of him.
The blade was pure white, the crossguard of it gold, and the hilt black with a gold pommel. Lucy saw inlays of gold in the blade as magic energy whirled around it. One of the men charged, and with ease Ken knocked the sword away, the rest came either shooting magic or swinging weapons. Ken knocked them all away, magic bounced off the blade, and as he spun he knocked weapons away. Lucy had seen people using swords before, but never like this, he moved like the blade a part of his arms.
"Aerondight, OVEREDGE!" Ken yelled, and at that command a spell hit his sword, and when it did, the blade grew. It grew wider, longer with a jagged edge, and with a burst of magic energy he blasted forward and knocked over every one of the men that had attacked him.
"Woah, his sword!" Lucy yelled, looking at the sword in his hands as he turned back to all the men who were groaning as they stood. "It looks like it absorbed magic energy!"
"It did!" Happy explained to her. "His sword takes in magic energy and damage, and then when Ken wants…."
"Now… release!" Ken yelled, drawing Lucy's attention again. "AERONDIGHT, OVERLOAD!"
Ken slammed his sword into the ground, and a massive wave of the magic energy that had been radiating from him shot forward. It smashed into the rest of the men that were attacking him and sent them flying back. Lucy could only watch slack jawed, as Ken narrowed his eyes forward and made sure all the men were down on the ground. After looking and making sure that they were knocked out, he let out a sigh and swiped his sword through the air. When he did, it disappeared in a puff of magic, and then he turned frantically, until his eyes finally fell on Lucy.
And that was when the entire day, really set in.
"I… I spent the entire day with Kenshin Kokoro…" She muttered, as Ken jogged across the beach towards her.
When she set out to join Fairy Tail, she wondered what it would be like to meet him, someone she admired in a guild she admired so greatly. She wondered what he would be like, as crazy as it sounded, thought she had some idea of what he was like just from his pictures. She expected someone confident and a little cocky, but noble and good. What she had gotten to know? That hadn't been exactly what she expected, he seemed so much more like a normal person as opposed to some untouchable figure.
She watched as he stepped over the guys on the ground, and leapt with a burst of magic energy off his feet. He was high in the air, and Lucy backed up to give him space, but saw when he landed, for a moment he hovered in the air, before gently letting his feet hit the ground. For the entire fight he'd seemed to be holding his breath, but when he landed it all let out of him. He deflated like a balloon, his shoulders slumping over. He only had on a white collared shirt with his golden angel wing, he could barely believe that a guy in such a normal outfit to have just done what she saw. She'd expected Kenshin Kokoro to have much flashier clothes, however, Lucy found his current outfit more endearing.
The flames still went up from the ship, and he looked over grinding his teeth. "Jeez, Master asked me to make sure nothing got destroyed this time…"
Lucy suddenly remembered how the ship got there. "I'm sorry! That was one of my spirits, I… just wanted to try and help somehow."
Ken turned and shook his head. "No, don't apologize, I appreciate it. Thanks, to you too Happy, great job little buddy."
"No problem sir!" Happy said excitedly, floating up next to Ken's shoulder. "Lucy here was pretty heavy, but I got her!"
Lucy's face got red as Ken looked over at her. "I am not heavy!"
Happy laughed, but Ken suddenly looked nervous.
"I… I'm glad you're alright Lucy, sorry you got caught up in one of our fights," He said, letting a smile come to his face as he looked at her. "I won't lie when I saw you trapped on the ship I got really worried."
Lucy looked back at him, and her heart thumped loud. "You… you were?"
He smiled for a minute but stammered with a shake of his head. "Y…yeah of course I was! I… I'm sorry, if that sounds weird considering we just met and all, and I'm sorry for staring at you! Oh god, you probably think I'm a creep-."
"No! No, I don't mind," She said, not wanting him to apologize after he saved her. "Seriously, it's my fault for ending up on that boat. You and Natsu saved me so thank you… but I don't get it."
"Huh? Don't get what?" Ken asked her.
She shook her head and just held her hands out to him. "Why didn't you tell me well… who you were! You're Kenshin Kokoro the Angel of Fairy Tail! I can't believe I spent the whole day with you and I didn't know."
Ken's face only reddened even further. He rubbed the back of his white hair and looked at the ground with a sigh.
"I… well, I didn't want you to think I was just some snobby swimsuit model," He explained to her, looking up. "Natsu and I were gonna find you again in Magnolia and… wait, oh shit NATSU!"
"HUH?! What is it?!" Lucy yelled, jumping as Ken ran past her, looking up in the air.
"I told you before!" He said, coming to a stop as flames lit up the sky. "If I leave him alone for too long he sets something on-."
"FIRE DRAGOOOOON! IRON FIST!"
"GAHHHHHH!" Lucy yelled, jumping behind Ken and grabbing onto his back as fire shot over head. The temperature shot up at least twenty degrees and when Lucy looked up her jaw dropped. "Natsu?!"
Natsu had knocked back the fake salamander. He punched him away, and then leapt forward with his fists erupting with fire. Lucy had never seen flames so pure before, as Natsu screamed and punched the fake salamander down towards the beach and his lackeys, before Natsu landed on the ship again and reeled back his head.
"NATSU WAIT!" Ken yelled to him. "YOU DON'T HAVE TOO-."
"FIRE DRAGON ROAAAAARRRRRR!"
Natsu roared, flames shooting from mouth before Ken could finish his sentence. Flames spread throughout the beach making fake salamander and al his men run. Natsu smirked, before looking over to where she and Ken were and jumped over to join them.
"Whew! That was some fight, pretty easy though," Natsu said, looking at Lucy. "Oh hey again Lucy!"
"H…hi…" Lucy said, stepping back from Ken and looking between he and Natsu. "Oh man… is this really what you Fairy Tail wizards can do…?"
"Sure is!" Happy said, floating to Natsu's shoulder.
Natsu smirked. "You ain't seen nothing yet! Right Ken… huh, Ken?"
Ken was shaking, wide eyed, almost about to cry as his face went pale. Lucy joined him with Natsu and when she saw what he was looking at, realized what was wrong.
"Oh man, may have went overboard," Natsu said, looking at the flames in the street.
"You think?!" Lucy yelled at him.
Ken stammered. "I… I promised Master that we wouldn't destroy anything this time…."
Lucy wanted to do something to comfort him, but he so looked downright terrified she didn't think it'd help.
"DID YOU HAVE TO USE SO MUCH FIRE YOU BIG DRAGON SLAYING IDIOT?!" Ken cried, grabbing Natsu's collar and shaking him back and forth. "WHEN MASTER FINDS OUT WE'RE DEAD!"
"Oh relax!" Natsu told him as he was shaken. "You're exaggerating, gramps won't care if-."
"Or worse… if Erza finds out I let you destroy another city… oh god," Ken mumbled, looking even more terrified.
And that was when Natsu finally looked worried too.
"Oh man… we're screwed!" The pink-haired boy yelled, as he and Ken hugged each other to lament.
"It's okay Natsu at least we'll get beat together!" Ken cried, as the two seemed even more horrified.
Lucy looked at them both in complete bewilderment, did they really change moods like that so quickly?
"Um…. Natsu! Ken!" Happy yelled, floating above Natsu's head.
Lucy turned, and screeched. "GAH! It's the guards!"
The entire street filled with men holding weapons and wearing armor. Lucy was about to make a break for it, when she suddenly felt her arm grabbed. Her head spun around, and she screeched, a tingle running up her chest when she realized Ken was holding onto her shoulder.
He still did look panicked though.
"Maybe if we get out before being seen…. Yeah!" He yelled, turning around. "Natsu, you go with Happy I'll get Lucy!"
"On it! Come on Happy!" Natsu yelled to the cat.
"Aye sir!" Happy yelled as he grabbed Natsu by the shoulders and took off into the air.
Lucy looked at Ken and shook her head. "How are we going to go after them?! I know you can fly but I can't!"
"Yes you can, just hold on and trust me!" He said, as his blue magic energy floated down to his hand and then onto Lucy's arm. "Transfer of magic power complete… now, LASH!"
"Huh?! What are you doing?!" Lucy yelled, feeling the energy consume her body, covering her arm them the rest of her body in the misty blue color. "What…. What's AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Lucy shot up into the air. She shot up so fast that she had to grab onto the dress she was wearing and yank it back down. She looked around her and saw the flames of the city, before all of Hargeon and the ocean came into view. Around her, the stars seemed to get closer, the night sky stretched out around her, as when she finally stopped, she could see how big the full moon was, it was as if she could reach out and touch it.
But that didn't mean she wasn't terrified.
"ARGHHHHH WHAT'S HAPPENING?! HOW AM I IN THE AIR WHAT'S-."
"Lucy calm down!" Ken's voice came from below, and she looked down to see him flying up towards her. Eventually as she was thrashing, terrified, she felt him grab gently onto her arms again, she looked up to see him looking at her. "Just relax it's okay! I'm using my magic energy to lash you upwards into the sky, I can usually hold one other person at a time up here with me."
"No… no way!" Lucy yelled, looking down as he held her arms at the lit streets below her. "I… I'm really flying!"
"Yeah… pretty great huh?" He told her, as he gently let her go. "Just be sure to stay close. You can move around a bit by yourself, but you'll need to stay close to me if you're gonna stay airborne, just point your body in the same direction as me, and I'll pull us both towards Magnolia."
Lucy stammered. "I… I don't get it! Why did you send me up into the air?!"
He looked at her confused. "You… did say you wanted to join Fairy Tail right?"
Lucy went slack jawed again, and then, Ken smiled at her, his white hair contrasted by the white light of the moon.
"So… let's go!" He said, holding out his hand. "What do you say?"
"Hey!" Natsu's voice yelled, and Lucy and Ken both turned to see him flying towards them with Happy holding his shoulders. "You guys coming or what?!"
"Yeah we need to get back to the guild hall!" Happy said with a smile, his wings flapping.
Lucy turned, and saw Ken smiling at her again. I… I'm in the air with the Angel of Fairy Tail, two of its members are asking me to come… I guess dreams really do come true.
She smiled, before chuckling, and grabbing Ken's hand. "Yeah, of course!"
Next Time, Season 1, Episode 2: Mountain Adventure: Ken and Natsu bring Lucy back to Magnolia, where she finally gets to join the Fairy Tail guild! It's everything she could have dreamed of, and she even gets to meet all the people she'd read about! However, when Natsu and Ken go off into a treck up a mountain for a missing guild member, she can't not join them both. Meanwhile, Ken and Natsu both remember losing someone important to them, and continue their search. While Natsu and Ken search, in a hidden part of Fiore, a dark guild of angels is hatching a new plan, and their leader is ready to sacrifice everything.
A/N: WELCOME TO FAIRY TAIL! And also welcome the FINAL character for my roster of OCs, Ken is the last to debut of the seven OCs that I've wrote who will all come together to face a monumental threat in a large Fate universe crossover! I've mentioned the crossover in a few of my recent update Ans, again in that crossover I'm going to be bringing together seven OCs into the Fate world as Heroic Spirits to fight a massive enemy. Those OCs are….
Arata Tojo (Testament of Sister New Devil) Cian Mac Gallagher (DanMachi) Akira Miller (Sword Art Online) Elias Gremory (HS DxD) Maximus Coyansu (Akame Ga Kill!) Robin Rose (RWBY) Kenshin Kokoro (Fairy Tail) BUT this story is a ways away haha NOW ONTO THIS STORY.
I put it in an AN earlier, but as of now I am NOT FINISHED Fairy Tail, I'm 110 Episodes in, so please, please do not spoil anything for me in reviews I'd appreciate it xD That's the major thing.
SO, onto the OC for this story, Kenshin Kokoro, the S Class Angel of Fairy Tail. He has the ability to copy other spells, and use pure magic energy to project different kinds of attacks. The best way I can describe him is an Archer/Emiya, or Gilgamesh type fighting style, minus his projectiles being swords.
I've really wanted to write a character that is already pretty strong, but just doesn't know how to use it to its fullest, and needs to learn control of not just magic but emotion to master it. Ken is in for a wild journey, and thankfully his Fairy Tail friends are going to be there to help him.
There's going to be more villains added into this version of Fairy Tail, as regular viewers of my stories know I like to add more villains and obstacles for all of the characters including my OCs (See Connla with Cian, Decasrtro and Max, Gilgamesh and Robin) all villains who I added to spice things up!
Speaking of spicing things up, as you can all guess by the description and the chapter, the main ship for this story is Ken and Lucy! Now, I loved Nalu, Lucy x Natsu as much as most people, but Lucy is easily my favorite character so there was no way I wasn't going to make her the love interest in this story.
And as people who read my stories a lot know, I'm not a fan of writing a story and not having the main couple get together forever, I like having them get together a bit early so we can have some cute relationship moments. So yes, Lucy and Ken will get together relatively soon.
If I had to give a time, I'd say during Tower of Heaven, if not DEFINITELY during the Battle of Fairy Tail, we're also going to have an arc at Ken's home village that I think I'm gonna put just before Tower of Heaven. We'll slowly learn more about Ken's home life, backstory, and his quest to find his brother and father, there's soooo much I'm going to do for Fairy Tail.
Now that all seven OCs have at least one chapter it's time to get to work! I hope you're all as excited as I am, and that you'll tune in!
