The Hidden Leaf was a bustling city, and shop owners were opening up shop as a light breeze brushed through. It was early in the morning—about 7:50 a.m. to be exact.
"BEEP BEEP BEEP"
Naruto slowly sat up in his bed and turned off his alarm clock as he rubbed the sleepiness out of his eyes. His eyes focused on the time, which read 7:50 a.m.
"WAIT WHAT!" Naruto shouted as he leaped out of bed.
As he ran through the apartment he was given, he started boiling water for his instant ramen as he got in the shower. After a few minutes, he got out of the shower quickly and did the rest of his morning routine before bolting outside the door after locking it.
'Iruka-sensei is going to kill me. How could I be late?' Naruto mentally yelled as he continued to run.
Iruka walked into class and set his books down. He examined the class but found a certain
Blond missing, he sighed
'Naruto, what have you gotten into this time?' He thought with a frown.
Iruka pulled out a roster with a bunch of names. "Alright, class, get ready for roll call. Say here after I call your name."
"Shikamaru Nara," Iruka called out.
"Here," he responded lazily.
"Shino Aburame"
"Here," he said with a dull tone
"Choji Akamichi"
"Here," Choji said as he started eating a bag of chips.
Iruka continued through the list; almost everyone was there except one boy.
"Naruto Uzumaki"
Silence filled the room, and the door flung open, catching Iruka off guard. There stood a 12-year-old blond boy.
"Here," he said, panting with a slight smile. "Did I make it in time?
"Naruto, you were almost late," Iruka said, annoyed.
The whole class let out a chuckle
He-he, sorry, Iruka-sensei, I woke up late." Naruto stated sheepishly:
"I'll let it slide just this once, but don't let it happen again, you hear me," Iruka replied.
Yeah, yeah, I hear you, Sensei. "Naruto" returned.
Iruka glared at Naruto as he continued to speak.
"Alright class, the subject of today's lesson is fighting styles," Iruka stated, causing most of the class to perk up
"Now, one of the many fundamentals of fighting is mindset. Going into a fight set on revenge will get you killed faster than you can yell their name," Iruka explained, staring at a certain dark-haired boy
"You need a calm mind and a focused and alert body. These things are what make even the weakest of fighters contend with those leagues above them."
Naruto spaces out for the rest of class as Iruka starts explaining theories on how being calm and focused can improve the skill of a fighter. As the bell rings after 40 minutes and everyone makes their way out, Naruto ponders Iruka's words as he walks out as well.
'Focus, huh, I guess I can try it; maybe it will work. But how? Do I just zone everyone out and focus on the opponent alone? I guess I can ask Iruka-sensei'
As everybody walks out, Naruto approaches Iruka
"Hey, Iruka-sensei, I have a question."
"Yeah, what do you need, Naruto?" Iurka questions naruto
Well, I remembered what you said in class about focus, but I don't really know how to."
"I see well that focus is a broad term, but what I recommend is to space out in a sense, analyze all of your opponent's movements, and limit the number of distractions at hand."
"I see... Well, thanks, sensei," Naruto yelled as he ran out of class and into the training field at the academy. "
As everybody lined up for a sparring match, everyone had their names called out until the final match came up:
"Naruto Uzumaki Versus Sasuke Uchiha."
As all of the Sasukes fan girls start cheering for the Sasukes win. Naruto and Sasuke walk up to the ring
"If you think you can beat me, you're heavily mistaken, Naruto. Sasuke states with a smirk
"Oh yeah?" Naruto says as he takes a fighting stance
"3... 2... 1... Fight"
Sasuke rushes forward, going for Naruto's head as he throws a punch but Naruto just stands there, attempting to go through Iruka's instructions

'Thats it focuses more on his movements and less on distractions' Naruto thinks
He proceeds to focus on Sasuke as his world goes black, but then he feels like the place where his head is in danger. Taking this as a signal, he ducks below the attack, readying an uppercut. Sasuke, noticing this, takes a step back, avoiding the blow but after seeing his right guard open, he steps back in for a finishing blow
"Just because you can dodge one attack doesn't make you god," Sasuke yelled
As this attack flies at Naruto, He starts to panic, thinking he is going to get hit
'Damn it, it's going to hit me. What do I do?' Naruto yells in his head
The attack aimed at Naruto's chest eventually lands
'Damn it all, I only managed to dodge one attack. I have to ask Iruka-sensei about this,' Naruto thinks as he starts to get up
"Winner Sasuke," Iruka states as the fan girls start cheering and everyone heads back to class
As the day ends, Naruto approaches the teacher's desk. Iruka looks up at Naruto questioningly.
"Do you need something, Naruto?" he asked with a questioning face
Uhh, yeah, you see, I remembered what you said today about being calm and focused and all but it didn't really work," Naruto said sadly
"Is that so? If I remember correctly, you did dodge one of his blows. How did it look then?" Iruka questions Naruto
It kind of went black, and it was like I sensed his attack and the danger behind the punch and just dodged, because who wouldn't if you saw a punch coming straight for you?"
"Interesting… Wait, everything went black? Did you pass out mid-fight? Iruka inquired
"I don't think so, but as I said, I saw the attack coming."
'Interesting, Maybe this could be a bloodline in the works and I just don't know it.'
Well, everything going black isn't very normal, Naruto."
"Wait really? Does this mean?"
"Don't jump to any conclusions, Naruto; nothing is confirmed."
"Oh," Naruto said with a defeated face.
"We do have tomorrow off, so we could use that day to see if this power of yours isn't just a conscience as long as it's okay with you."
"REALY? AWESOME BELIEVE IT, I'll 100 percent be there, Naruto said as his face lit up
"Well, that settles it Meet me at training ground 3 at 8 a.m. tomorrow."
"Okay," Naruto shouted, running off, "cya tomorrow."
Naruto woke up and checked the time. 7:07, he slowly slipped out of bed and went to do his morning routine.
By the time he had gotten out of the shower, he was already thinking about the day he walked out the front door
"Maybe I'll stop by Ichiraku's; they opened up a little bit ago," Naruto pondered out loud
"Hell I might find Iruka-sensei there," Naruto noted as he started to check his bags to make sure he didn't leave anything behind.
Training Ground 3 is a forested area with a bit of an opening and a river. In this training ground, there are two figures.
"Hey, Iruka-sensei, what exactly are we going to do?"
Hmmm, I was thinking we go down to the basics."
"What do you mean by the basics?"
"I'm trying to gauge where you are at in skill, so I was thinking along the lines of, Let's see." Iruka gave it some thought: "Taijutsu, Genjutsu, and Ninjutsu."
Naruto's face suddenly dropped
"That's just stuff we do in the academy," Naruto said with a blank face
"Exactly why you need to learn it," Iruka stated with a smile
Naruto started thinking and concluded,
'Well, I do need to be good at the academy basics to even pass the test and become Hokage.'
"So what do these things have to do with my ability?"
"Everything and nothing at the same time," Iruka responded
"Huh? What do you mean by nothing and everything?" Naruto asked
"Well, it's complicated so all you really need to know is the basics, which could be the difference between life and death."
"I know that."
"Then why did you-"
"Anyways, why don't we try to use that new ability? The basics can always be found in some library; this is something completely new."
"I guess you're right but don't slack off; the graduation exams are in 2 weeks."
"I know, I know."
"So if we are going to focus on this ability of yours, explain as much about it as you can," Iruka explained.
Well, it felt like he was throwing a punch before it happened like I felt the danger."
"How did you do this?" Iruka further questioned out of curiosity.
"I stayed calm and focused on the battle like you said."
"I see," Iruka nodded. "This might be the trigger focus and danger."
"Huh?"
"We are going to try to replicate this feeling of yours," Iruka stated, "so get ready for a long day."
"I'm always ready, believe me."
"We'll see about that," Iruka challenged
'Stay calm and focused'
"Here I come," Iruka rushed towards Naruto.
After Speaking those words, Iruka rushed straight to the blond boy, letting off a flurry of attacks
'What's going on? I don't see anything,' Naruto questioned internally.
Naruto barely dodged the attack due to his good speed and reaction time but Iruka didn't stop there; he let a barrage of left and right punches to Naruto's face
'Stay calm, stay calm, stay calm.'
Naruto took a leap backward
'I need to focus and calm my mind'
The world went dark for Naruto until three gray objects came flying toward his head. Naruto, seeing this, jumped to the side as Iurka had just thrown three blunt kunai
Seeing this as an opportunity, Naruto lunged in to attack Iruka but was swiftly defeated with a side step and blow to the stomach
"You're strong, Iruka-sensei" Naruto complimented with an off-handed laugh. "But I win," Naruto stated, pointing to the kunai aimed at Iruka's stomach
"When did you?" Iruka paused, then thought, "Does this mean?"
"Yep, it kicked in twice," Naruto said with a grin
"Heh, I guess you got what you asked for, eh?"
"I do think it came and went pretty fast but for a new ability, I'll make it work," Naruto exclaimed with a smile as he fell back
"Well, do you have any scrolls I could learn from?"
"Well, I brought a few on taijutsu and ninjutsu so you could study them in your free time, Iruka stated. "But what about your New ability?"
"Really? Alright, I'll get right onto them, and as for the ability, I get the feeling it grows as I battle so I'll hold it off until I become a Gennin."
Thus marking the beginning of the wonderful Tale of Naruto Uzumaki.
It was a dark room with pipes running down the walls and ceiling, but if you were to walk a few more steps in the shallow, ankle-deep water, you would see a giant gate with the word seal on a piece of paper in the middle. Suddenly, one giant red-slit eye opened.
"This kid... he's an interesting one," said the being with a small chuckle. "How far can you get
with a mere small taste of my power?" It said with a smile, showing off its giant, sharp teeth.
"We'll just have to see."

I am not going to lie; I didn't forget about the story. I fell into a heavy writer's block so I started thinking of a rewrite and I guess it worked out since I managed to plan out all of part one in a way that makes sense but doesn't feel too much like canon. So yeah please review and I'm going to start chapter 2 after editing this one, so cya in 3 years (hopefully not)
