Chapter 46
It's the night before Manny and Chester leave their honeymoon to come back home, Chester's in the living room, Manny's asleep in bed, she stirs in bed, jolts awake, looks over at Chester's side realizing he's not next to her, she gets out of bed, and sees him in the living room as she takes a seat next to him on the couch
Chester (softly): Hey baby, I thought you were asleep beautiful?
Manny: I had a bad dream. Then I went to snuggle with you, to fall back asleep and you weren't there.
Chester: Are you ok? What was the dream about?
Manny: Yea, I'm ok. Just wished my husband would've been next to me to make me feel better
Chester kisses Manny's forehead
Chester: I'm sorry babe. I couldn't sleep and you looked so beautiful, I didn't want to wake you.
Manny lays her head on Chester's shoulder
Manny: What are you working on sweetheart?
Chester: Just a little something
Manny looks at the paper on the table
Manny: Lyrics?
Chester takes Manny by the hands and looks in her eyes
Chester: When we had that fight last year, when I was being a jealous jackass
Manny squeezes Chester's hands
Chester: When we got in that fight and we briefly separated, I told myself, not only would I make sure I'd do everything I could to make you happy. I would've never forgiven myself if I had lost the best thing that ever walked into my life. Given everything we've gone through in the last 4 ½ years, that fight was one of the biggest regrets I have ever had. That night, you didn't come home, I was even more scared I lost you. I started writing a song about how much I hurt you and how grateful I am to still have you
Manny: Chester, baby
Chester: It's called blind
Manny: Baby, I love you, with all my heart. I know you realized how bad you hurt me back then. What matters is we're here now, and we're stronger than ever now
Chester: Manny, I'm serious. If I could take it back, I would. I never want to see you upset like that, just look at these lyrics babe, please
Manny slides the paper over to her and looks over the lyrics Chester wrote
Chester: I promise, the song won't be recorded unless you approve of the artist
Manny places the paper back down on the table
Manny: You wrote it about me, and about us. I want you to record it, only for me. The lyrics are really good baby. It really explains the hurt and pain we went through.
Chester: I love you, with all my heart Manny
Manny smiles
Manny: I love you too, Chester
Chester wraps his arms around Manny's neck as he softly kisses her
Chester: What do you say we cuddle on the couch and watch a movie, on our last night in paradise
Manny: How about we go back to bed and I snuggle with my wonderful husband and maybe do naughty things with you
Manny lets out a big yawn as Chester smiles and softly chuckles
Chester: I think someone's a little too tired for naughtiness.
Manny groans
Chester: I love you baby. I always will.
Manny (yawns): I love you too
Chester stands up and takes Manny by the hand as he leads her to bed, as they get in bed, Chester's phone beings buzzing in the living room, as Manny gets comfortable in Chester's arms, she looks up at him and smiles
Manny: Thank you, for this week away baby. We needed it and it was the perfect place for our honeymoon
Chester smiles as he kisses the top of Manny's head
Chester: I never seen you smile so much as you have this week, sweetheart
Manny: I'm so grateful we've made it through every obstacle life has thrown in our path, I'm so happy I get to spend the rest of my life loving you
Manny said as she yawned and snuggles close to Chester
Chester: Me too, baby. Me too. Most importantly that horrible fight last year.
Manny smiles as Chester runs his finger down her spine and softly kisses the top of her head as she falls asleep in his arms
Next morning Chester wakes up to Manny in his arms smiling, he wraps his arm around her as she begins to stir awake a few minutes later
Manny (groans with a smile): Hi handsome
Chester: Good morning beautiful
Manny stirs and smiles as Chester gives her a good morning kiss
Chester: Are you hungry baby?
Manny: What did you have in mind?
Chester rolls over in bed and arches himself on top of Manny
Chester: I could think of a couple things
Chester said as he begins making out with Manny
Manny: Mmm, that's always good, but what about actual food?
Chester: I can cook up some bacon and eggs for breakfast
Manny: Sounds delicious. I'm going to take a shower
Manny kisses Chester as she gets her stuff and takes a shower as Chester lays in bed for a minute reminding himself how lucky he is. A few minutes later he gets up, makes his way to the kitchen and begins making breakfast, another few minutes later, Manny appears from the bathroom into the kitchen
Manny: It smells good
Chester kisses Manny then gets 2 plates out of the cabinet, he plates Breakfast for himself and Manny, then hands Manny her plate as they sit at the table in the kitchen and enjoy breakfast
Chester: I can't believe how fast this week has gone by
Manny: It's been perfect, it really has, all the late night love making we had, was just an extra bonus
Chester smiles as he softly chuckles
Chester: I made you a promise, I would make you a mother, no matter what it took.
Manny smiles
Manny: How did I get so lucky?
Chester's phone lights up as they finish enjoying breakfast together before they pack up and head back
Chester ( to Manny): It's Chuck, I'll call him on the way home
Manny: I forgot there was a world outside of here
Manny said with a laugh
Chester: Me too
Manny: We need to come back here again. I love it here.
Chester: We will, don't worry.
Chester and Manny finish up breakfast as Manny begins packing their things to head back home as Chester cleans up in the kitchen. A couple hours later, the car is all packed and they are ready to go home
Chester: Let's go home, sweetheart
They get in the car and begin heading home, as Manny puts her hand on Chester's leg, A couple hours later they arrive home
Chester: Home sweet home
They unpack the car and bring their bags in, once they're in the house, Chester notices the light on the answering machine blinking
Manny: Who called, hon?
Chester picks up the phone and calls their answering machine
Chester: It's Chuck
Manny: Oh.
Chester: I wonder what's going on that he called my cell and our house I hope my mom's ok
Manny: I'm sure she's ok honey.
Chester calls Chuck
Chester (to Chuck): What's going on?
Chuck: Where are you guys?
Chester: We just got home
Chuck: Ok, I'm coming over
Chester: What's going on?
Chuck: I'll talk to you when I get there. I'm leaving now
Chuck hangs up
Chester: Chuck?
Manny: What's wrong baby?
Chester: I – I don't know but he's on his way over
Manny: Well, hopefully everything's ok
Chester: I don't know babe, he sounded serious like something is wrong
Manny takes Chester by the hand
Manny: Whatever it is, I'm right here by your side
Chester kisses Manny
Chester: Thank you baby. You're the best
They unpack their bags and get settled back in, a few minutes later, there's a knock on the door
Chester: I'll get it, it's probably chuck
Chester gets up and opens the door, sees Chuck in the doorway
Chuck: Hey buddy, sorry to drop this on you when you guys just got back home
Chester stands aside and lets Chuck in
Manny: Hey Chuck
Chuck smiles and waves hi to Manny
Chuck: You guys might want to sit down
Chester sits down next to Manny and places his hand on her lap
Manny: What is going on Chuck? You're worrying me
Chester: Is mom, ok?
Chuck: Mom's fine, the family is fine. It's actually about Bianca
Manny hangs her head down
Chester: You called us, for that bitch?
Chester stands up
Chuck: Listen-
Chester: After everything she's put Manny and I through, the only thing I want to hear about her is if she's dead
Chuck looks at Chester silently
Manny: She's dead?!
Chuck: Yes.
Chester sits on the couch next to Manny
Chester: What happen?
Chuck: I don't know all the details, but I need you to come down to the morgue with me and identify her
Chester: Seriously?
Chuck: Afraid so, brother
Manny: When did this happen?
Chuck: A couple days ago
Chester: How do you know this isn't one of her schemes she plays
Chuck: I thought the same thing, I checked into it myself, Chester it's real. She's dead
Chester: I- I don't believe it
Manny looks at Chester
Manny (to Chester): Let's just go with Chuck real quick babe, then we'll come back, and we'll process it together
Chester: Manny, you don't have to come with me, if you don't want to. I know how much she's hurt you
Manny: Yes, she's caused me, and you both hurt and pain, but right now, you need me. Besides, I need to see this for myself
Chester kisses Manny's forehead
Chester: Thank you honey, Let's get this over with
Manny laces her hand in Chester's as they leave with Chuck, a short time they arrive at the Morgue, they get out of the car, they walk inside the building, Manny wraps her arm around Chester's
Chuck: You guys ready?
Chester: Do we have a choice?
Chuck nods at the morgue attendant as the attendant lifts the corner of the sheet and reveals Bianca's body
Chester: That's Bianca
Manny places her hand over her mouth and quietly begins weeping as Chester pulls her into his arms
Manny: She's really gone now
Chuck nods again at the attendant as the attendant places the sheet back over Bianca's body
Chuck: Also, there's something I need to show you guys too
Chuck pulls out 2 letters from his back pocket and gives the letters to Chester and Manny
Manny: What's this?
Chuck: That attack at the studio, she was behind it. We found these letters to Evan Blair, the guy who attacked you at the studio
Manny looks at Chester with fear in her eyes
Chester: I knew it! I knew she was behind it!
Chester swings the door open and walks out of the morgue, then slams the door shut
Manny: Chester!
Chuck (placing his hand on her shoulder): I'll get him, don't worry
Chuck runs out after Chester, and finds him in the hall just on the other side of the morgue
Chuck: Chester Allen!
Chester turns around
Chester: What Chuck?!
Chuck: You need to cool it, man.
Chester: Bianca was behind the attack on Manny! What is there to be cool about?!
Chuck: Listen to me, dipshit, Bianca's dead! You saw it for yourself! She can't come after you guys anymore!
Chester begins yelling
Chester: You and I had our suspicions about her when it happened, did we not?
Chuck: Yes, we did, but-
Chester: Now we find out, after she's dead mind you, that she really was trying to get rid of Manny once and for all!
Chuck: Dude, you need to calm the hell down
Chester: That bitch tried to have my wife killed, chuck. My wife! And you want me to calm down?!
Chuck: But she didn't, did she? No, because Manny's still with you.
Manny comes out into the hallway
Manny: Chester?
Chester: What?
Chuck: Manny, I got him.
Chester: It's fine, Manny, I'm fine
Chester said as he hit the locker in the hall
Manny: No, You're clearly not.
Chuck: We had our suspicions, when the attack happened that she was behind it.
Manny: Why didn't you tell me, Chester?
Chester: And worry you more, stress you out more? Risk losing you, just a few months before the wedding?
Manny: I wouldn't have left you. Why would you think that I would've?
Chuck points at Chester and pulls Manny aside
Chuck: When the attack happened, he was so scared, he was going to lose you, and when the officer on scene that talk to us, Chester mentioned Bianca, and the officer was interested, like he knew something about Bianca and this guy. I did some digging, and while Bianca was in jail, she met a penpal by the name of Evan Blair, the two started exchanging letters, about how much Bianca hated you and wished you were dead for breaking up her and Chester
Manny: Does Chester know this?
Chuck: No. It would just trigger him more.
Manny: So, Evan posed as a fan to get into the studio?
Chuck: I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, Manny. Bianca wanted you dead
Manny: This conversation, does not leave you and me. I agree with you, if Chester finds out, he'll flip out even more
Chester slams his fist into the locker again as he sinks to the floor and buries his head in his hands as Manny walks over to Chester
Chester: I'm sorry, Manny.
Manny: For what?
Chester: My ex was a psychopath that was clearly jealous and threatened by you
Manny: I don't care, Chester. She could never get between us. Our love is stronger than anything she'd throw at us
Chester: She tried to have you killed!
Manny: But she didn't. I'm here with you, now.
Chuck: Let's get you guys back home
Chuck, Chester and Manny leave to take Manny and Chester back home
Chuck: I'm sorry to drop this on you guys right after you got back from your honeymoon.
Manny: It's ok, thanks for at least waiting until we got back
Manny said with a nervous chuckle, a short time later Chuck arrives at Manny and Chester's and drops them off
Chuck: I love you both, call me if you need anything
Chester: Thanks man, love you too
Chad drives off as Manny and Chester walk in their house. Manny looks at Chester as he wraps her in his arms
Chester: It's finally over, Manny. She can't get to us anymore
Manny begins to cry in Chester's arms as he comforts her and calms her down
Manny: I always wished she would just disappear but never wished death
Chester: It's ok, baby. All that matters is she is permanently out of our lives
Manny: Then why does this feel like a dream still?
Manny sniffles as Chester lifts her chin and stares into her eyes
Chester: Listen, I'm sorry about at the morgue. I was just so angry that she was behind the attack that could've taken you from me.I don't want to live a life without you it in with me, Manny. So, it doesn't matter how or what happened, neither of us Expected this, nor did either of us wished death on her, but the point is, she's gone sweetheart. She's never coming back
Manny buries her head in his arms
Manny: We can finally live our lives in peace and not in fear anymore
Chester: Exactly. No more worrying if and when she'll try to tear us apart again
Manny looks up at Chester and smiles
Manny: You always know what to say to make me feel better
Chester: I love you babe. Everything's ok now
Manny: I love you too, I'm glad.
Chester kisses Manny softly as he smiles
Manny: I need to call Emma
Manny picks up her phone and dials Emma
Emma: Hello?
Manny (sniffles): What are you doing?
Emma: What's wrong?
Manny: We just got back from our honeymoon this morning, and Chuck called us
Emma: Manny, your worrying me
Manny: Come over, I'll explain it when you get here, bring the liquor
Emma: Is Chester ok?
Manny: Yea he and I are fine
Emma: Is his mom ok?
Manny: The family is ok, trust me it's something you'd least expect
Emma: Ok, I'll be over in a few minutes
Manny: Alright, I'll see you soon
Emma hangs up, a short time later Emma arrives at Chester and Manny's.
Manny: Come on in Em,
Chester walks in the living room from the kitchen with 3 glasses
Chester: Hey Em
Emma: Hey Chester, I brought Tequila
Chester takes the Tequila from Emma and pours 3 glasses of tequila, and hands Emma and Manny both a glass
Chester: Cheers
Chester raises his glass, then takes his drink
Emma: Ok what the hell is going on here?
Manny: Bianca's dead
Emma: What?!
Manny nods yes as Emma reaches for her drink and takes a drink
Emma: When did this happen?
Manny: A couple days ago I guess
Emma: How do you know she's really-
Chester: I said the same thing
Manny: Chester and I had to go Identify her
Emma gives Manny a hug
Emma: Are you ok?
Manny: I was a little emotional at first but I'm ok
Chester: Like I told Manny, She's finally out of our lives
Emma: Chester's right.
Manny: I know, I'm done looking at the past now, cause I don't care. Both the people I wanted out of my life are gone.
Emma: You should've stopped looking at the past a long time ago
Chester places his hand on Manny's leg
Manny: I have my future right next to me
Emma: I can't believe she's really gone. Now you won't have to live in fear anymore, Manny.
Chester: Except for the fact that we found out she really was behind the attack on Manny, and she wanted Manny dead
Emma: What?!
Manny: Oh yea, Chester flipped at the morgue. Chuck and I both had to calm him down
Emma: Oh man.
Manny: The guy that attacked me, was Bianca's penpal
Chester: I told Chuck I had a feeling she was behind it too.
Chester pours himself another drink
Chester: Anyone want another drink?
Manny: I'll take one, babe
Emma: I'm good, Chester
Chester pours Manny another drink
Emma: This is just crazy.
Manny: Honestly, the way I look at it, even if she wasn't dead, she can be jealous all she wants because I got what she'll never have, and that's Chester's heart. I know that he loves me more than he could've ever loved her
Emma: I can tell, Chester really makes you happy. I've never seen you smile like this before.
Manny: I can finally sleep peacefully at night, knowing that I have the love of my life, by my side, throughout everything.
Manny smiles as Manny and Chester take a drink
Emma: I'm going to get back home, Tracker's watching the baby while Sean's at work.
Manny: Has he found a place yet?
Emma: Not yet. But he's still looking
Emma gives Manny a hug
Manny: I love you
Emma: I love you too, I'm happy you're ok and you're happy
Manny: I am, I'm finally happy for once
Chester gives Emma a hug goodbye as she walks out the door
Chester: You ok, babe?
Chester said as he drapes his arm around Manny pulling her into his arms as they lay on the couch together
Manny: No, More like are you ok?
Chester: I'm fine, I'm just glad she's gone
Manny: Me too
Chester: I don't have to worry about her trying to hurt you anymore.
Chester said as she runs his hand down Manny's back
Manny: No one will ever take me from you.
Manny leans up and softly kisses Chester
Chester: You still want me to do that song for you?
Manny: I do
Chester: I'll talk to Tommy tomorrow when I go back to work
Manny: Have I told you, how proud I am of you.
Chester: Not lately
Manny: Chester, I'm so proud of you, and everything you've accomplished since we've been together. You're a producer at the label, not to mention, my husband, whose looking incredibly sexy right now
Manny said biting her bottom lip
Chester: Really now?
Manny: Mhm. Is It me, or it is getting really, really hot in here
Chester softly chuckles as he places his hand on her back and begins making out with her on the couch
Chester: You know, you're insanely beautiful?
Manny: I've been told a couple times by my incredibly sexy husband
Chester: Well, your husband is very lucky
Manny: Yes, He is very lucky
Chester begins making out with Manny again as he gently places her on her back on the couch as Manny wraps her arms around his neck as he lifts her shirt up and takes it off her, planting sweet kisses all down her neck, breast, stomach as Manny smiles while she bites her lower lip
Chester: Love you, beautiful
Manny: I love you too
