B&B OF LOVE AND FUN-13
Hello again. Thanks for your reviews. I hope that you are having a great weekend. Yesterday, the last preparations have been done and now the B&B is officially opened. It would seem that everything is on the right track, but as it turns out, life is not that simple always and 2/3 of our B&B team is not taking the first moments very well...See for yourself. Hope you will like it ;-)
Elsie was just about to fall asleep, when she heard Charles tossing and turning on the bed, for the thousand time...This was their first night in the new place, a new house, a new room, a new bed and a totally different situation.
Elsie felt a little anxious herself, but she was also tired, with the last preparations...Everything was ready for a start of the B&B and the advertisement was scheduled for tomorrow's newspapers... They were all nervous in their own way, but Elsie noticed, that Charles seemed to take it the worst...
"Charlie, what's the matter honey?"
"Oh, I'm sorry Elsie...Did I wake you?"
"That's all right love...I wasn't sleeping yet...I was on the brink of falling asleep, but I heard you tossing on the bed...What's wrong?"
"I don't know Elsie...Everything...Nothing...It's just...New place, new house...New bed...New room.."
"And old wife..."-Elsie smiled in the darkness, trying to break the tension a bit...
"Beautiful, young and dearest wife to be exact...I feel so anxious and I don't know why..."
"Are you not comfortable Charlie? Maybe you prefer to sleep on my side of the bed?"
"No Elsie, it wouldn't help...I'm just so nervous..."
"But why? Everything is prepared...We just need to wait for our first customers..."
"That's the thing Els...What if there will be no customers? What if nobody will want to stay here? We invested a lot of money in this place and if we won't earn, it can be a disaster..."
"Charlie...It's going to be all right, I promise...Maybe we will not have guests tomorrow, but they will come...And we will do everything we can, to make them feel wonderful here..They will go back home and tell their friends, how well they spent their time and their friends will come, wanting to check it themselves...It will all work out, we just need time and patience..."
"I'm just so worried, that something may go wrong..."
"Charlie..You have been managing the enormous estate for many years...Actually we were both managing it and everything was fine...Why all the sudden you are so scared now?"
"Because, back at the Abbey, I was just somebody's employee and here I'm the boss...We are all bosses here...This can be our great success, or a big disaster..."
"Charles...I know that you are nervous, but what else can I do to make it easier for you?"
"I think that I need some coddle from my beloved wife...Is it possible to get some?"
"Always Charlie...Always..."
Elsie embraced Charles tightly and he put his head on her breasts...She was rocking him gently, kissing his hair and he felt, like all the anxiety has disappeared...Whatever was about to happen, there was nothing like a little love from Elsie...
Her arms were his favorite place in the whole world...The warmth radiating from her body and delicate kisses made Charles feel safe...It wasn't more than five minutes, when he was sleeping, snoring loudly...Elsie couldn't help but smile at this noise and soon she joined her husband in the land of sleep...
The next day...
Elsie has just entered into the living room, she wanted to check if the pillows on the sofa were neatly arranged. She was surprised, to find Beryl there, so early in the morning...
"Good morning Beryl...What are you doing here at such early hour?"
"I couldn't sleep...I thought, that I would come here and check if everything is all right...Don't you think, that we should move this vase with the flowers on the other side of the shelve?"
"I think it's fine...Are you all right? You seem uneasy..."
"Actually I am...What if this whole idea of B&B will not work? What if we will fail? All the money that we invested...I already failed once, what if it will happen again?"
"Not you too! I already have one person here, who seems to see everything in dark colors..."
"Charles?"
"Who else? You two are so similar..."
"Well, the advertisement will be printed in today's paper...What if nobody will react? We will have no visitors?"
"Calm down please! Rome wasn't build in a day...We need to be patient...Are you sure, that you are all right? You look a little pale..."
"Actually I'm not all right...Oh no, I have to go..I think that I'm going to be sick..."
Beryl left the room rapidly and Elsie followed her, worried about her health...Beryl just managed to get to the bathroom door and slammed it quickly...Very soon, the noises that Elsie heard from outside the door, meant that she was not well at all...
When she got out of the bathroom, Elsie made her lie down and prepared a nice herbal tea for her, with the help of Katie...Beryl looked so pale, that Elsie made her promise, that she will not leave the bed...
Elsie went on the other side of the house, to check why Charles hasn't got up yet and when she entered their bedroom, she found Charles pale and lying on the bed...
"Charles, what is it? Are you all right?"
"Not really...I feel sick to my stomach and my head hurts so much...Oh Elsie...I can't go through this... We are opening today and I have no strength to get up and I should get up and help you..."
"Oh no, you won't...You will just stay here and I will make you some herbal tea...Are you cold? You are shaking?"
"I think it's just nerves, or maybe my stomach..."
Elsie covered Charles with the duvet...She put her hand on his forehead, which seemed to be a little warmer than ususal...She sighed heavily and went to the kitchen, to make another herbal tea...She brought it to Charles and he only took few sips and fell asleep...
Elsie went to check on Beryl, but she was sleeping too...
When she entered the kitchen, she found Katie doing the dishes...
"How is Mr Carson feeling?"
"Not to well...I made him an herbal tea and he fell asleep...I just checked on Beryl and she is sleeping too...Nice start of the B&B, isn't it Katie? It looks like we were left all alone..."
"Don't worry Mrs Carson...We will manage...Auntie Beryl is a great person, but she gets upset so easily...She wasn't feeling herself yesterday..."
"The same as my husband...He was tossing and turning for half of the night and I was trying to calm him down...I thought, that I succeeded and now this...Let's just hope, that they will feel better by tomorrow..."
"Do you need any help Mrs Carson? Is there anything that I can do?"
"Not at the moment Katie...Thank you..."
In the evening...
Elsie was just finishing dinner in the kitchen, when she heard a sound of a ringing telephone...It was rather late, but given the fact, that they were waiting for phone calls all day and nothing has happened, she hurried to answer it...
Few moments later, she hung up the phone, feeling joy and excitement...The first customers were ready to arrive in two days. A married couple, who wanted to spend their holiday in a new place...
As much as excited Elsie was, she figured, that judging by the state of Charles and Beryl's health, it was wiser to not to give them the message yet, as she feared, that this news could bring much more anxiety...She decided to wait till tomorrow, hoping, that both her business partners will be able to cooperate...At least better than today...
That's it for today lovelies...Poor Elsie...She and Katie are the only calm people here...Charles and Beryl panicked a bit...That was quite a start...For now, it's more like a B&B of very frightened people...Hopefully it will be better from now on ;-) Have yourself a very nice week!
