It was really simple. Redirect and converge all the heat into a single area, use the wind to stoke the fire and then solidify the formed fire. And then upon being launched, undo it's form so the fire sprays everywhere. Usually he wouldn't use his ability of Vector Control so creatively but he was running a test so to speak. He assumed they had Aura so he wanted to see how well it does against heat, previously when he had battled (massacred) the White Fang he had created a dome of air around an area. Effectively allowing him to manipulate the temperature in said area. He had used it to freeze some of the members but two survived that attack thanks to the use of Aura.
So, the sound of crackling flames became louder and louder. The fire burst forth in a searing torrent from his palm, a bright orange blaze that roared through the forest undergrowth, quickly consuming everything in its path. Leaves crisped up and turned brown before disintegrating into ash. Trees exploded, their trunks and branches snapping like brittle twigs. The air became thick with the acrid scent of burning wood. The flames were all-consuming, spreading rapidly across the forest in a tidal wave of fire.
Cinder had no way to even think of avoiding the roaring flames that coverd a large area , so she grit her teeth as she crossed her arm's infront of her face.
"CINDER!" Whether it was Emerald or Mercury who shouted out her name, she did not know. As the fire washed over her, all was drowned out. Her Aura was depleting in an alarming rate as the fire crackled and boomed. At this rate she would be burnt to nothing but ash. But suddenly the onslaught stopped as she immediately fell to her knees, breathing heavily. Her Aura was completely exhausted from just that single attack.
"I see, so not even heat, huh?" She heard the boy mutter as she musterd a glare his way.
To say Amber was confused, pissed and afraid would be an understatement. Having come so close to losing her life was a terrifying thing. A feeling she hoped to never again experience.
When the boy had appeared out of nowhere she experienced relief like never before. She didn't know who the boy was, but what she did know was that he was strong.
The women in red was already out for the count, if her having kneeled over with an exhausted look on her face was any indication. Then there were the other two. The green haired one was dangerous, she could cause other's to see illusions. But she looked frustrated, and almost annoyed.
Suddenly the white haired boy's gaze seemed to snap to her.
"Tryna mess with my brain, eh? What an annoying power." He mutterd just low enough for her to hear.
And then suddenly he was no longer there, Amber did a double take as the boy was now suddenly infront of the green haired girl who looked surprised herself. She could not react in time as the boy flicked at her forehead. The result was her body becoming a mere projectile as it suddenly got launched through the air before harshly crashing against a burnt tree.
A look of realization dawned on the boy's face as he noticed that a portion of the forest was still on fire. He raised right arm leisurely and what followed was heavy wind sweeping through the engulfed tree's and ground. The intense wind snuffed out the intense flames in an instance.
("B-but...that shouldn't be possible...") Amber looked on baffled. He had used fire earlier, so she assumed that was a Semblance of his, simliar to the women in the red dress. But she was sure he had just used the wind just now. He had more then one power, that would only be possible for... ("No he's male...is he?...") She squinted her eye's at the boy's face as the sliver haired boy tried to attack him only for his leg to be grabbed mid air, and to be tossed to the side like a toy.
The white haired, boy? He had soft and clear almost porcelain-like skin. His smooth white hair perfectly framed his face as they fell to his shoulders. Were one to ignore his intense eye's then his facial features were almost delicate and maybe even feminine, with a smoothed and defined jaw line. His nose was small, slightly angled, and fit perfectly with the proportions of his face. He had a shapely, full pair of lips, inviting and looking perfectly kissable. His eyebrows were well-groomed, and they arch naturally.
Was he actually a girl? Was he merely masquerading as a male. So other's wouldn't figure out his identity as a Maiden? But how was it that he could change his voice so?
"I...see..." She heard the voice of the red dressed girl. "To think that man had another such powerful pawn." She spoke as she steadily stood up.
The silver haired boy and green haired girl walked back to the girl with wobbling steps.
"Cinder...what should we do now?" The green haired one asked, her eye's held a hint of fear in them now. Whether it was due to the white haired boy(?) manhandling them or whether she too thought he(?) was a Maiden was unknown.
"We..." She started but she quickly cut herself off with a click of her tounge as she seemed to glare at something behind Amber.
"We retreat for now." She orderd and the other two obeyed without question. Amber watched as they turned tail and ran, she wanted to go after them but the injuries suffered wouldn't allow for that.
The white haired one didn't seem to pay them any more mind as he too stared behind her with narrowed eye's. Finally she willed herself too look at what they had seen for them to want to retreat the way they had, only for another sense of relief to wash over her.
"Qrow!"
"Damn, what are the odds, huh?" That seemingly permanent slurred voice spoke though his word's were not directed at her.
"You again. Here for revenge 'cause that hag kicked the bucket?" The boy asked as he pocketed his hands.
"Nah, she's alive unfortunately. But I ain't here for revenge or anything, kid. Even as her brother I admit she deserved that ass kicking, so whaddya say we let bygones be bygones, huh?" Qrow asked as Amber grew only more confused as they spoke.
"That so?" The boy spoke with an uninterested tone as his eye's turned to her. "I don't particularly care, but that chick seems to know you so I'm done playing nursemaid." He was in the process of turning around but he was stopped by Amber's voice.
"W-wait...you're a Maiden too, right!?" She asked with some difficulty due to her few injuries. Qrow looked at her confused.
"Uh, Amber not sure if you've noticed but that's a dude."
"N-no, look at their face! They also used fire and wind, earlier." Now that was a statement that caught his attention, so turning back to face the boy he squinted his eye's at him. He could see it, ever so slightly.
"That true, kid? You a Maiden?" If it was then that could be a game changer. Some of the Maidens locations were unknown so having two on their side could be huge. This would also explain how he able to defeat someone like Raven, the power a Maiden possessed was nothing to scoff at. If they knew how to use that power they'd be near unbeatable.
"What?" The aforementioned boy asked in slight confusion. "If you're asking if I'm a girl then my voice should give it away."
"But you used more than one power..." Amber spoke as she shakingly stood up from the ground.
"Hey, don't push yourself." Lending her a shoulder she managed to stand somewhat with the help of Qrow.
"Oh that." The boy spoke as he fully turned to the two. "It's just my ability, it's versatile enough so it looks like I'm using a duel ability." The boy explained with a shrug.
"So...I was mistaken." She seemed a bit down having learned the truth. She wished that there was someone she could share the burden with of being a Maiden.
"If that's all, then I'm outta here."
"Wait a sec'." Qrow's voice stopped him. "Where you heading?"
"The city." The boy saw no reason to be secretive.
"Then how 'bout you come with us?" Qrow offerd. "I'd feel like shit just sending on your way without repaying you for helping Amber here." Accelerator looked at the man with narrowed eye's.
Living all his life in a city full of deceit and filth, it became easy to weed out those with ulterior motives. Furthermore having actually met someone who was genuine he could easily deduce on who would seek to simply use him or who would want to actually be of help.
"Well aren't you chivalrous." The boy scoffed. "You sure you want to be offering help to the guy that did that to you sister?"
"Eh, like I said that ass beating was well deserved. Even if she really died. But it be a pain to walk all the way to the city, right?" Qrow's word's rang true.
"Tch, fine."
Time skip
Accelerator sighed heavily as trudged through the heavy liquids on the floor. The crimson sight was all but already etched into his mind. But he ignored the eerie sensation of walking through a pool of blood, he also ignored the countless lifeless bodies of one identical school girl with short chestnut hair stained in blood. The sight would make anyone horrified but his face remained blank as he walked through his sins.
But he stopped at the sight of a particular corpse.
She was also identical to the other's. But she was younger, she looked no older than ten, and contrast to the other's dressed in school uniforms she wore a simple blue polka dot dress.
He stared at the particular corpse longer before muttering some unheard word's.
He awoke within the warm confines of a bed. A comfortable sensation he didn't know he longed for.
As his eye's opened he took note of the almost familiar blank ceiling. The esper sat up from his bed with a scowl present on his face.
("Same old dream.") He thought with his scowl deepening. Though it be more accurate to say it was a nightmare. A rather clear and irritating one that wouldn't go away.
But he ignored that thought as he studied his room. It was realitively small, wooden floors, lightly painted walls, a single wardrobe and a window to the side. The room was almost thick with the smell of perfume as well. But he ignored all that as the door to his side opened and someone walked through.
He identified it as the women from yesterday, Amber was her name if he recalled correctly. She was more casually dressed, a cropped up tank top showcasing her smooth stomach slightly wrapped in bandages as was her right shoulder. Along with that she wore baggy pants.
She had a tray in her hands, a plate smelling of bacon and eggs and a white teapot. Upon noticing he was awake she sent him a warm smile.
"Oh, good you're awake." She spoke as she sat the tray of food next to him on the bed side table. "I've made you some breakfast. I hope your fine with something simple like eggs and bacon."
"Thanks..." He mutterd as the women took a seat at the edge of his bed. "Shouldn't you be resting, you were pretty badly messed up." He didn't really ask because he cared, he more so wondered on what reason she had for being here. Was it just to deliver him breakfast? That was odd...
"I'm fine for the time being. My Aura healed me up fine enough." She explained. "I only have a few injuries that still need some healing over time but they're nothing major." She reassured with a smile.
"I see..." After that Qrow guy had showed up he was taken to the city via a Bullhead, Amber had insisted that he could stay at her place for the time being. As she wanted to repay him somehow. Qrow had gone off to who knows where, he had said something about having a talk with someone. But that was awhile ago, as he wasn't sure on how long he was asleep.
"So why did those three even attack you?" The esper wasn't exactly too curious per say he was more so confused. Having been called a 'Maiden' of course he was. After Amber had offerd him shelter she had promptly passed out so he couldn't really voice any kind of questions he had.
"Well..." The girl in question seemed hesitant, seeming unsure on whether she should answer or not. "They wa-"
"They were just a bunch of bandits." A new and familiar voice cut in. The two turned to see non other than Qrow standing and leaning against the doorway.
"Qrow?" Amber herself seemed surprised at his presence.
"Sorry for coming in unannounced. But Amber we gotta discuss some thing's, in private." Amber blinked a few time's before she nodded her head.
"R-right. I'm sorry but enjoy your meal. And thanks again." Sending another warm smile his way, she stood up as she followed Qrow out of the room.
Accelerator merely shrugged as he took a piece of toast provided.
("Another one with that strange power, huh? Wonder if that was what those three were after. And if it's related to this 'Maiden' they kept talking about. Guess that would explain some things. These Maidens must be able to use more than one ability. So that bandit hag must've been one, huh...")
"You were about to tell him, weren't him?" Qrow asked as he leaned against the wall of the kitchen.
"It's just, he saved my life. Doesn't he deserve to know why he put his life on the line for a stranger?"
"Look Amber, I get it, I do. But you know why it's kept hidden, this ain't the kind of thing you just tell someone." He argued. "Even if they saved your life."
"I..I know but, there was something different about him."
"Ah? Different, you barely talked, right?" Qrow asked a bit confused.
"No I mean something about him feels different. I'm sensing something from him, something foreign..." She mutterd as Qrow cocked up an eyebrow before rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
"Well that kid definitely ain't normal...that's for sure." He mumbled more to himself. "But strange feelings aside, I had a talk with Ozpin."
"I can't stay here anymore, I'm guessing." She spoke with a small barely noticeable sad smile.
"That's right, sorry about this." He spoke with a look of sympathy directed at the younger girl.
"I-it's fine. But what about him? He doesn't seem to have anywhere to go..." A frown formed on her face.
"Don't worry about it, I'll handle any living arrangements for the kid. I'd feel like shit too if I just let a kid go off on his own." Amber smiled at his word's.
"That's great...thank you Qrow..."
A/N:Now I know I might've gone a little overboard with Accelerators androgynous description but in recent illustrations of the Light Novel he certainly does look more androgynous (femboy Accelerator confirmed?) so eh. I'll prolly send Accelerator to Beacon as a teachers aid but he'll still meet Neo (he needs a loli after all, even if she's older.) So hoped you enjoyed.
Amber will of course be a more prominent charecter now, as I want Accelerator to form connections so he can be a Tsundere.
( ̳•̀ , •́ ̳) I-It's not like I wanted to save you or anything..!
-Accelerator prolly
