Tails' POV
It had been a few days since Sonic's 'death' and everyone had already been informed of the possibility that Sonic might not be dead. I was able to smile a little knowing there was a chance that Sonic wasn't dead.
Amy started staying with me the day I heard her and Shadow discussing, she said she didn't want me staying by myself at the moment. I agreed, I wanted the company anyway. Shadow and Rouge came occasionally to update us on what they knew at the moment but I still didn't feel right about something. Sonic was dead, as much as it pains me to even just think about it, it was true. It just didn't make any sense, who would a dead body?... Nobody would want one obviously but they might want Sonic's, as sick as it sounds. But the question is who?.
I shook my head after realizing what I was thinking about. Not only was it weird, it was disturbing. Nobody would want a dead body, I mean what would they do with it?... Why did I think that?
"-ails..Tails!?" I jumped a little when I heard Amy call my name. I looked over at her, she looked worried. "Yeah?" I answered back, she just looked at me a little more before answering. "You looked troubled, what were you thinking so deeply about" She said her face still looking worried. I just looked down.
I sighed and looked back at her and said "I was just wondering how Sonic's body was moved-" "Tails-" Amy sighed, coming close to give me a hug. " I- just think about it, it makes no sense. Sonic's body couldn't have moved on its own. Someone must have moved it most likely" I said, trying to get her to hear what I had to say. She looked surprised at first but then she began to ponder on it, bringer a hand to her chin. She looked back at me "So what you're saying is...", I nodded "Someone took Sonic's body".
Meanwhile~
Shadow's POV
I was still trying to contact Rouge if she found anything while looking around myself, when Amy called me. "Yes?" I answered the phone, "Shadow, Tails just told me something that might help". I stopped running and waited for her to continue, "He suggested what if someone took his body, I mean you've searched the entire area and the areas around that area. Someone probably took him" Amy finished. I started to think, who could have possibly taken him.
Then I said the most reasonable next course of action, "Call everyone that was present and ask them if the took or saw someone take Sonic's body" I said and ended the call, proceeding to message Rouge on what to do before heading to Tails' house.
Tails' POV
I was watching a show I and Sonic used to watch together, Amy told me to watch it since I started feeling down again. You can't even help Amy around the house, stop moping you big baby, I heard a voice sneer to me. Amy was doing so much right now and all I'm doing is seat around and cry.
I shook my head to get rid of the depressing feeling and got up with a determined look. ' I'll just help her right now, who knows, it might even get my mind off S-... all of this' I thought to myself as I opened the kitchen door. Amy was looking for stuff in the cabinets with a frustrated look on her face. She turned when she heard my footsteps and smiled a little at me. " Do you need anything Tails" She asked me closing the cabinets and completely turning to me. "I just wanted to see if you needed my help" I said, waiting to hear what she wanted me to do. She was probably finally happy I asked. She smiled at me with a sympathetic look on her face and said "Don't worry Tails, I got this".
"Oh..ok" I said, looking away from her. She probably thinks you're useless and would mess it up, just go somewhere else and make yourself useful, the voice said again. I sighed and was about to open the door, but Amy grabbed my arm. I turned to face her and her eyebrows furrowed in worry. "Why do you look so sad all of a sudden" I answered her, while avoiding her eyes "I just taught you would want to relax and seeing the way you always looked tired..." her frown deepened in more worry, "... I just wanted to help".
I heard her sigh and then she said "Tails, look at me" I looked at her hesitantly. She smiled warmly and moved her hand to my shoulder, letting go of my arm. "We ran out of some food and I need to prepare dinner. If it's not too much, could you head down to the grocery and get me the ingredients in this list?" she gave me the list and the money. My ears perked up and my eyes widened. A small smile made its way on my muzzle and I answered "Okay, sure, I can do that" I said smiling a little wider. She smiled at me and said "Go right ahead, don't take too long though". "I won't" I answered and started to put on my shoes.
I opened the door and saw Shadow. He looked at me with concern and asked where I was going. "To get somethings for food, I won't be long. Bye" I said running past him. I headed into town with a light smile on my face.
I greeted people on my way and waved at those who waved at me. And in no less than a few minutes, I was at the store and people just looked at me. I continued to shop and finished after 15 minutes and paid. I was on my way home, but was stopped...
Shadow's POV
Amy and I anxiously stared at the clock, waiting for Tails to return from shopping. She stared at me and said " Something is wrong".
