[MY COMMENT]

I'm glad to see that readers enjoyed the first chapter. Ironically, you can thank the hateful and negative reviews of the previous story. Something was wrong and I just needed a wake-up call. Unfortunately, some writers aren't open to criticism and will ignore negative reviews. But clearly, something was wrong because I didn't enjoy writing a limp piss version of Gohan. It made no sense to continue writing that story, however, I did enjoy the direction I tried taking it.

And to reply about Reinhard's abilities, he'll never surpass or match Gohan's powers because I now come to understand that the Gods of Re:Zero aren't as strong as Super Saiyans. For context, Reinhard receives divine blessings to match the severity of the situation, but there are limits.

Finally, please don't be toxic to upcoming writers as it may kill their motivation to continueunless that's your intention.

"You're not killing anyone else today," Gohan declared, his voice resonating with confidence. His hand firmly gripped Elsa's right wrist, preventing her from coming any closer to Felt.

The assassin glanced over to meet the eyes of the newcomer, noticing Gohan's furious gaze glaring deep into her curious eyes. Elsa's lips curled into a sly smile, a glint of excitement dancing in her youthful expression. This night could prove to be more interesting than she initially thought.

With a languid ease, she licked her lips before asking, "And how do you pretend to stop me?" Her voice dripped with amusement and challenge, eager to hear his response.

Stepping back slightly, Felt watched the tense standoff with a mixture of anticipation and trepidation. She knew that Elsa Granhiert was a force to be reckoned with, her reputation as the "Bowel Hunter" sending shivers down the spines of those who dared cross her path. Yet, standing before her was the muscular stranger in the green robes, exuding a powerful presence that was strangely comforting.

The musclebound stranger had previously demonstrated the ability to instantaneously disappear and reappear without telegraphing his movements. Felt's instincts and street smarts led her to believe that Elsa was in for a surprise. The stranger's calm and collected demeanor belied a potential for explosive action that Felt was all too familiar with.

Still reeling from the loss of Rom, Felt's voice trembled with grief, "You've met your match, Elsa! You don't stand a chance against him!"

Elsa's amused smile widened, her eyes glinting with intrigue. "Is that what you believe?" she asked in a mocking tone, her eyes still focusing on Gohan's long stare.

In response, Gohan tightened his grip on Elsa's wrist but she didn't seem to notice, the pain likely not a bother to her.

"I don't seek out conflicts," Gohan began with soft words, then raised his voice as he continued, "but after what you've done, I won't let you roam freely. I'm taking you to the authorities!"

Elsa had heard enough of his heroic speeches, her patience wearing thin. Elsa's desire for a thrilling challenge was warring with her annoyance at being thwarted. With a swift movement of her free hand, she attempted to draw her Kukri to strike at Gohan, only to find the weapon had vanished from her hand.

"Hn?" Confusion flickered across her face as she stared at her empty hand, disbelief evident. Though her other hand still clutched the remaining Kukri, Gohan's firm hold on her wrist curbed her movement. In her endeavor to retrieve it, the blade simply evaporated from existence.

"!" With wide eyes, Elsa shifted her attention to Gohan's free hand, comprehending that he had seized her weapon from her.

"Looking for this?" He asked, eliciting a frown from the woman.

Felt, realizing that this was her chance to escape, proceeded to run toward the exit as fast as she could manage. Elsa noticed this and with her unrestricted hand somehow materialized another blade and threw it at her with extreme force.

Time seemed to slow as Gohan shifted his gaze toward the imminent threat aimed at Felt. His focused stare locked onto the weapon, as if his will alone could redirect the blade away from Felt's path. Just as she made her escape through the door behind Gohan, the blade found an innocuous target, embedding itself harmlessly into an aging picture frame, causing the glass to shatter.

At the same time, Felt managed to escape the warehouse and ran as fast as her legs could take her. "It doesn't feel right to leave him with Elsa, but I can't just go back!" Her thoughts slipped from her panicked lips as she ran, willing not to return to the warehouse.

Elsa's frustration materialized as a low groan. "You've let her slip away," she muttered, her attention shifting to the man who had thwarted her attempt at killing her target.

"I already told you," Gohan stated calmly, still holding onto the previous Kukri. He casually discarded it, reaffirming, "Your actions won't result in another death."

Elsa's scowl deepened, her frustration radiating from her as if it were a tangible force. "Don't be so full of yourself!" Her voice dripped with disdain and annoyance. With frustration fueling her movements, she unleashed a lightning-fast kick aimed squarely at Gohan's midsection. As her foot shot out, the folds of her black robes billowed and swished dramatically, only to settle back into their eerie stillness once the movement ceased.

However, with an almost casual grace, Gohan intercepted the kick with a deft movement of his hand, catching her leg effortlessly. The impact of the clash reverberated through the old warehouse, causing the floorboards to protest with a loud creak. The very foundation of the building seemed to shiver in response, magnifying the already present tension.

Elsa's features seemed to morph from frustration into perplexed bewilderment before finally settling back into that unsettling amusement.

Her voice carried a chilling curiosity as she inquired, "How does your hand feel now?" The curiosity in her eyes held a glint of darkness as if she was relishing the prospect of his pain. "I can shatter bones and stop the heart of a fully grown man with the power of my kicks. Surely, you're in a world of pain."

Gohan's response was a firm retort, his tone cutting through the tension. "I'm not here to entertain your games, Lady." His voice held a tone of finality, clearly indicating his lack of interest in indulging her conversational prodding. "And your kick was too weak to hurt me."

Elsa's amusement took a more sinister turn, her smile curling into a wicked grin. "Oh, how delightfully challenging~" she purred, her eyes gleaming with a twisted sense of pleasure. "Shall we test your tough facade, then?"

"Fine by me," Gohan replied without any significant change in his expression. "Only to demonstrate to you the futility of resisting arrest."

With the uncanny innocence of a child, Elsa's lips curved into a smile as she initiated close-quarters combat against Gohan, all while his grip on her right wrist remained unwavering. Her unrestricted left hand delivered swift and powerful palm strikes directed straight at his head. However, each strike found Gohan tilting his head aside or effortlessly redirecting her attack with his free hand. Amidst her rapid and aggressive assaults, his composed demeanor stood in stark contrast, showcasing his complete control of the situation.

"You cannot win," Gohan calmly stated amidst the struggle. "Give up."

"But we're being so intimate," Elsa replied nonchalantly, her words dripping with a mixture of amusement and defiance. "I've never danced like this with such a confident stallion before."

When her initial assault bore no fruit, Elsa's tactics underwent a shift when she injected variety into her approach. No longer content with the simplistic palm strikes, she unleashed a torrent of diverse attacks – straight jabs, uppercuts, side hooks, and the occasional unexpected kick. Her movements flowed with a deadly grace, causing her distinctive black robes to swish and ripple with an intense ferocity. Despite the dynamic spectacle of her motions, Gohan's skillful maneuvers effortlessly countered or misdirected every strike she threw his way.

"How much longer can you keep pace?" Elsa inquired with a hint of anticipation, her eyes gleaming with a challenge. "Every man must eventually surface to regain their breath. But not me. I can continue endlessly. It's just a matter of time until your strength wanes. Your movements will slow, and then..."

"Don't hold your breath," Gohan interjected sternly, his voice exuding unwavering confidence as he misdirected another strike. "I was waiting for you to slow down since I can keep this up all day."

"How exhilarating~" Elsa purred, her tone suggestive. "A partner who never tires will suit me perfectly."

The struggle raged on, the clash between them persisting for an extended duration. Elsa's initial expectation gradually eroded as she struggled to comprehend how her opponent didn't run out of stamina. Each strike she launched was met with a calculated block or an expertly timed evasion, leaving her frustrated and unable to land a single effective hit or break free from Gohan's unyielding grasp.

It was just as Gohan had declared, and he wasn't slowing down. His movements grew even more precise as if he was just getting warmed up.

"Why haven't you restrained my other hand?" Elsa queried, her mind wrestling with the newcomer's motives, even as her unrelenting attacks persisted.

"One arm is sufficient," Gohan affirmed with unwavering conviction, blocking another punch as he continued speaking. "I won't release you, no matter what."

"By all means," She responded with rose-tinted cheeks. "Don't ever release me from your embrace~"

Soon, the realization settled in her mind that her opponent's movements were becoming more refined, while hers maintained a consistent rhythm. Refusing to yield, she gradually escalated the speed of her attacks to match hypersonic speeds, a test to see if the young man could match her newfound tempo. To her astonishment, he not only matched her pace but also surpassed her, leaving her pleasantly surprised.

"Haven't you realized?" Gohan asked calmly, his unwavering gaze locked onto Elsa's. "It's just as the girl said, you don't stand a chance against me."

A faint smile curved Elsa's lips, a hint of sadistic anticipation in her expression. "I must admit, I enjoy that confident look men wear," she confessed. "It amplifies the satisfaction when I ultimately shatter their will to fight."

Gohan grunted sternly, dodging another strike as he tilted his head. "If you're hoping to see me beg, you'll be utterly disappointed."

Elsa giggled innocently. "~Are you sure?"

The warehouse seemed to reverberate with each of Elsa's strikes, the air charged with her attempts to break free from Gohan's unrelenting grip. Soon, the realization gradually dawned on Elsa – she was outmatched. Her techniques were proving futile against this formidable opponent.

A mixture of frustration and a begrudging admiration swelled within Elsa. Driven by desperation, she decided to take a risky gamble, her audacity fueled by the urgency of the situation.

Observing her mounting frustration, Gohan couldn't help but remark, "What happened to your earlier confidence? Weren't you aiming to reduce me to begging?"

Instead of giving a response, Elsa suddenly launched herself into the air, contorting her body in an acrobatic maneuver. Elsa's flowing robes momentarily obscured Gohan's view in a flurry of motion. Amidst this whirlwind, her arm twisted at an unnatural angle, an audible snap echoing as her limb was wrenched out of its socket. Then as she spun in the air, she stepped on Gohan's concealed face and leaped backwards.

"What the!?" Cried out Gohan as he stepped back, caught off guard by Elsa's cunning trick. Now that his vision was obscured, with his free hand, he swiped away the blinding robes only to witness Elsa landing a few feet away from him, finally free from his grip. However, he was terrified to discover that her arm was fully detached from her body as blood rapidly spilled from her gaping wound.

Gohan's shock and horror were noticed as he glanced down to observe the disembodied limb he held in his hand. Then a slow realization came that some droplets of her blood-drenched his Gi.

"H-huh?" Gohan stammered, unable to find the words to express his thoughts. His reaction was visceral – a mixture of disgust and disbelief. Immediately, he dropped the severed limb onto the creaky floorboards, the sickening sound of bone and flesh crashing against the ground amplifying his repulsion. He instinctively stepped back once more, struggling to maintain his composure.

"What happened to your handsome display of dominance?" Asked Elsa with feigned curiosity, the fatal wound seemingly not a bother to her at all. "I have yet to lay a hand on you."

Returning his writhing gaze to meet Elsa's, Gohan coughed out in disgust, "You're insane!" then averted his gaze from the gruesome sight once more. While averting his gaze, his eyes focused on the stains of blood that weren't his own, causing a growing feeling of discomfort.

Meanwhile, Elsa remained entirely unperturbed by his reaction and the loss of her limb. Instead, she grinned at what she interpreted as the stranger's naive response as if she were imparting harsh life lessons to an innocent child.

"Is this your first experience?" She inquired, a sadistic pleasure infusing her words like that of a psychopath. "Your unsophisticated mind won't suffice~. Give it more time, and perhaps I'll mold you into a real man."

Glancing over to the gruesome scene, Gohan averted his gaze once more, as he found the sight of Elsa's red life essence spilling from the gaping wound too overwhelming to bear. The seven years of peace had weakened his battle-hardened mind and tolerance of such brutal images.

"What is wrong with you!?" Gohan blurted out while still averting his gaze from her spilling red life essence. "You're going to bleed out and die!"

Relishing in Gohan's perceived weakness, Elsa licked her lips before seizing the moment. With fierce tenacity, she charged toward Gohan like a fanatical beast. A mighty kick connected with his chest, the powerful force lifting the visibly confused Gohan from the ground and sending him crashing through the front door, ripping it off its hinges.

Even before his body could meet the ground, one blade materialized and struck him on the stomach, rendering his defeat seemingly effortless once his body collided with the Earth beyond the front porch of the warehouse. A small dust cloud formed, proving that the force of her kick was formidable.

Elsa's lips curled into a sadistic grin as she delivered her monologue, "The young princess had placed her faith in this man, yet he now lies incapacitated." With newfound freedom, Elsa approached her detached limb with a nonchalant ease that belied the shocking nature of the situation. With a swift and unsettling motion, she reattached the limb to her socket, the sound of bones and tendons snapping back into place sending a chilling echo through the air.

After testing her arm's functionality, she retrieved her misplaced Kukris and then turned toward the exit of the building, a lovely hum escaping her lips as she strolled along. Now outside, she scanned for any signs of her adversary's body, intent on finishing him off. Yet, her search proved fruitless; he had vanished from the vicinity.

"Think you can conceal yourself from me?" She mused aloud, a newfound delight in her voice. "I'll trace your fear like a hunter, and once I locate you, I'm going to make you beg—"

Her words dissolved into sudden silence as she seemingly crumbled onto the ground, the result of a forceful blow striking the back of her neck.

"I'll be honest; you caught me off guard," Gohan admitted as he stood behind her, a tinge of self-awareness coloring his words. "Witnessing Piccolo lose his limbs should have readied me for this, yet I still found myself wholly unprepared."

Examining the spot where Elsa's blade had previously struck, Gohan's gaze fell upon a minuscule scratch on his abdomen, evidenced by the sliced portion of his Gi. A small droplet of his blood emerged from the minuscule cut. Noticing this, it dawned on him that the potential repercussions could have been serious had his body not been enhanced by Ki.

"How unsettling," Gohan muttered with unease. "That blade almost went through me like a vaccine needle," Gohan contemplated aloud. "Not even the bullet of a gun can kill a Saiyan, yet she managed this much without Ki enhancement. Perhaps Dad's fear of needles isn't all irrational after all."

Glancing over at Elsa's reattached right arm, Gohan noticed that all traces of her fatal wound had vanished. "Huh? Did she just regrow her detached arm?"

Choosing not to dwell further on the gruesome memory, Gohan sighed as he regained his composure but remained clueless about what to do next.

"Now what?" he wondered aloud. "If I bring her and report to the authorities, will she feign innocence and manipulate the situation against me?" He briefly remembered how Felt had falsely accused him of attempting to abduct her.

"Of course," Gohan realized swiftly. "The blonde girl is my witness. She's aware that this woman attempted to end her life. That should serve as a solid alibi."

As Gohan braced himself to lift the seemingly unconscious woman from the ground, an unforeseen twist of events sent shockwaves through the moment. The woman's body suddenly twisted on the ground, her movements fluid as she lunged at him, the glint of a blade aimed at his neck.

"You're mine!" Her triumphant cry filled the air, fueled by a mix of determination and sadistic delight. Yet, Gohan's honed reflexes came to his rescue as he swiftly leaned to the side, narrowly evading her deadly attack. Instinct kicked in, guiding his actions, and he subconsciously unleashed a punch that connected with her face, propelling her downward and embedding her into the earth, the impact forming a small crater in a swirling cloud of dust.

The air was tense with Gohan's disbelief and panic as he blurted out, "No! Did I kill her?" His voice quivered with the weight of his fears, etching his face with a blend of anxiety and regret.

His trembling hand landed on her seemingly lifeless neck, and as he sensed the faint but undeniable pulse beneath his fingertips, a wave of relief washed over him. She was alive.

"Thank goodness, she's built differently," Gohan mused aloud, a mixture of surprise and relief coloring his words. With the burden of a potential accidental death lifted, he was allowed to shift his attention to Felt's fleeing Ki signature.

Beneath the tranquil expanse of the moonlit sky, Elsa Granhiert lay unconscious in the cradling arms of Son Gohan, her form carried gracefully as he maneuvered across the rooftops. He took care not to push his speed to extremes, aware of the potential strain that intense G-forces could place on those who were not as sturdy as he.

Unknown to Gohan, Elsa briefly opened an eye before shutting it again, choosing to remain calm and play unconscious for a little while longer.

As Gohan focused on tracing Felt's distinct Ki signature, his thoughts swirled with questions about the enigmatic dragon's cryptic message and the role fate had laid out for him. The resonance of the dragon's words lingered in his mind, "Your noble heart has garnered great admiration. Should you prevail against the impending trials, I shall uphold our ancient covenant."

His brow furrowed in perplexity as he vocalized his thoughts, "What could that dragon possibly mean by an ancient covenant? I have no recollection of any such pledge."

But a chorus of recollections from the curious onlookers intruded on his ponderings, their speculative murmurs echoing in his mental space.

"That was the holy image of Volcanica, and it was speaking to him!" "Could this young man be the reincarnation of the Lugnica Bloodline?"

Doubt clouded Gohan's expression as he hummed with concern. "What are they talking about? And what is this Lugnica bloodline they speak of? I'm my father's son, so clearly, my lineage is distinctly different."

In tune with his surroundings, Gohan caught the distinct fluctuation in Felt's Ki signature, accompanied by two ki signatures he was familiar with. "Ah, there they are. Reinhard and Emilia have located her. Quite ironic that I'm the fastest here, yet I seem to be trailing behind."

Then, a sudden startle passed over Gohan's features, replaced by deep concern as he registered the swift decline in Felt's Ki signature.

"N-No! What's he doing? Why would a knight harm her without reason?" Gohan questioned aloud, momentarily forgetting the delicate state of the woman he carried. His pace surged, a quadrupled speed disregarding the potential strain on Elsa due to intensified G-forces.

In a heartbeat's span, Gohan materialized in an expansive field of grass, his figure abruptly appearing before Reinhard and Emilia. The abruptness of his arrival sent shockwaves through the serene night, momentarily shattering the tranquility with a fierce gust of wind. The field of grass rippled like waves on water, stirred by the surge of energy before settling back into its gentle, swaying rhythm.

Unfazed by the disruption, Reinhard cradled the unconscious yet unharmed Felt in his arms, his gaze locking onto Gohan's with a silent assurance that everything was under control.

However, the abrupt shift in the atmosphere sent a jolt of alarm through Emilia's senses, prompting her swift reflexes to kick in. With a determined pivot, she conjured a bolt of ice, propelling it with precision toward Gohan's face. The frozen projectile found its mark, striking him squarely on the jawline with an audible impact, catching him entirely off-guard.

"Ouch!" Gohan's voice carried a mixture of surprise and discomfort as the icy force shattered against his face. Gently easing Elsa's body to the ground, Gohan's hand instinctively sought the sore spot on his jaw, fingers probing the stinging sensation.

"G-Gohan!" Emilia's voice echoed with genuine remorse, tinged with the recognition of her unintended action. "It was you! I'm so sorry!"

"It's alright, you're fine." He reassured her, still rubbing the bruised spot. "After everything I've put you through, a little ice to the face is nothing."

Then, Emilia saw the blood that stained Gohan's Gi, causing her expression to contort into fear and concern. "There's blood on you!" running to his side, her hands began to glow with a luminescent light, seemingly ready to heal him.

"Stop that!" Said Gohan as he backed away. "That's not my blood. It's someone else's."

"Nonsense, there's an open cut on your midsection." Emilia's voice resonated with concern as the magical light emitted from her hands slowly healed him. "And why is someone else's blood on you?"

"This woman," Gohan began as he glanced at Elsa Granhiart's unconscious body resting on the grass. "While fighting me, she detached her arm, causing her blood to spill onto me. But she somehow regrew her lost arm or reattached it!"

The ethereal glow in Emilia's hands faded as she withdrew them, creating a bit of space between her and Gohan. "I am glad that you're doing well, despite your grim circumstances," Emilia stated with a warm voice before shifting back to a look of concern. "Albeit, I was worried when the White Whale's assault shook the city. Thankfully though, after its 400-year reign of terror, someone has finally triumphed over the White Whale."

With a blank stare, Gohan hummed nervously. "Yeah, thank goodness, right?"

His attention shifted towards Reinhard, who regarded Gohan with a gaze that seemed to hold knowledge of the one responsible for rescuing the Royal Capital. Yet, Gohan couldn't ascertain if Reinhard possessed more information than that.

'Does he know?' Pondered Gohan. 'That I refused to take it's life?'

Choosing to break the silence, Gohan walked towards Reinhard with a curious expression.

"So, what's the story here?" Gohan inquired, his voice tinged with concern, as he approached Reinhard while casting a concerned look at the unconscious blonde girl. "I sensed her energy weakening rapidly, so I came here as quickly as I could."

Reinhard's gentle expression remained for a fleeting moment as he acknowledged Gohan's presence. His demeanor then shifted, taking on a more serious aspect that matched the gravity of the situation. "You're the one who summoned Volcanica's image," he stated firmly.

Surprised, Gohan took a step back, his features a mix of bewilderment and curiosity. "Wait, what makes you think that?"

As Reinhard shifted his gaze from Gohan to the sleeping blonde in his arms, he began to explain. "This girl, Felt, is her name. Despite possessing the insignia throughout the day, she was unable to summon the sacred image of the dragon. However, Lady Emilia informed me that you tracked Felt's energy, which led you to make contact with the insignia."

Gohan's expression remained focused, clearly indicating his attentive listening. When the opportunity arose, he posed a question of his own. "Did Felt tell you everything that happened up until now?"

Reinhard offered a confirming nod. "Indeed, she shared the account of how you rescued her from the clutches of Elsa Granhiert," he said, his gaze shifting towards the still-unconscious Elsa. "And it appears that you've brought Elsa here intending to have her apprehended."

Gohan's expression turned serious as he recalled their encounter, a hint of nervousness in his voice as he continued, "That woman, Elsa... She's not like ordinary people. As I mentioned earlier, she detached her arm without any apparent pain. And her manner of speaking is rather sadistic and unsettling. It's honestly quite creepy."

Reinhard's countenance turned grave as his mind conjured up Elsa's reputation. "That woman you speak of," he began, his voice carrying a somber tone, "has impressive regenerative abilities. She's also known throughout the land for her brutal reputation as the 'Bowel Hunter.' Her grisly history involves the killings of knights and important nobles and patriarchs. She is often associated with a series of gruesome incidents involving the disembowelment of her victims, her sadistic tendencies and chilling methods have struck fear into the hearts of many."

Gohan's eyebrows furrowed as he processed this information, the gravity of the situation becoming even more apparent. He exchanged a glance with Emilia, whose expression mirrored his concern.

"So, this woman is a ruthless killer?" Gohan mused aloud with apprehension in his voice. "And she was after Felt?"

Emilia interjected, her voice soft but resolute, "In truth, Felt revealed to us that she was to act in Elsa's stead. Had Felt succeeded without delay, Elsa would have compensated her generously. However, Elsa mysteriously ended the life of Felt's guardian then became hostile towards her."

Gohan nodded, remembering the prior events just as she described them. "Given how you know this, Felt must have been compliant with you guys. So why is she unconscious?" Asked Gohan as he glanced over to Reinhard, the knight still carefully holding Felt, the sleeping blond girl.

Reinhard met Gohan's gaze with a sense of urgency. Instead of giving a resolute answer, his voice edged with haste as he changed the subject, "We must relocate to safer surroundings. Let us return to the barracks, where we can continue our discussion undisturbed. Please, bring Elsa's body with you."

"Hmm..." Gohan hummed with intrigue as they readied themselves to depart. However, an unforeseen twist unraveled before them. Elsa Granhiert's motionless figure, which had previously lain upon the grassy ground, had vanished without a trace. Both Gohan and Reinhard pivoted their attention toward the origin of the disturbance, their focus narrowing onto the assassin who had regained consciousness. Positioned behind Emilia, who was ensnared in her grasp, Elsa held a glinting kukri menacingly close to her victim's throat, the blade's edge whispering unsettlingly against her skin.

"Emilia!"

"Lady Emilia!"

The voices of both males reverberated with a blend of shock and concern, their eyes unwaveringly locked onto Elsa's menacing blade in proximity to Emilia's vital areas.

Elsa's voice carried an eerie melody as she directed her words at Gohan, "So your name is Gohan... You're the prince who cradled me under the moon's gentle glow. Alas, our brief interlude comes to an end."

Gohan's calm demeanor snapped like a taut wire, his anger boiling over as he shouted, "You're deranged! Why won't you stay down!?"

Elsa's retort was laced with unshakable confidence, her tone infused with a disturbing mix of certainty and amusement, "I am not so easily defeated, Gohan. I will persist, unyielding, until you muster the resolve to extinguish me. Until then, I shall revel in my freedom to do as I please."

"W-Wait a minute!" Gohan cried out, visibly perplexed. "I disarmed you! Where did you get that weapon!?"

"Don't you know?" Asked Elsa innocently, "That a woman has more hiding places than men~"

"Gohan!" Reinhard interjected urgently, catching the Saiyan's attention. "Can you handle Elsa? I mustn't leave Lady Felt's side." He explained as he held the sleeping blond girl in his arms.

Confusion clouded Gohan's features as he inquired, "Lady Felt?" Shaking off the confusion, he agreed. "Sure," Gohan responded, his attention now refocusing on Elsa. "I can handle her."

Driven by a surge of protective fury, Gohan took a step closer, prompting Elsa to react with calculated cruelty. Slowly and deliberately, she pressed the blade beneath the skin of Emilia's delicate face, eliciting a sharp gasp of pain from the half-elf. Blood welled from the wound, and like a flowing stream, her life essence poured onto her fair skin until her elegant white dress was stained with a crimson color.

"Don't come any closer!" Elsa's deranged voice carried a warning as her blade shifted to rest beneath Emilia's throat. "I realize that you're quite fast, so stay your ground as I make my escape, or I won't guarantee the silver-haired half-wit's safety."

Gohan's forehead creased as a vein pulsed with his rising fury. His expression twisted into a visage of intense rage, his glare directed at the woman before him – a dangerous mixture of wrath and vengeance.

"YOU!" Gohan groaned angrily, holding himself back to ensure he wouldn't cause the demise of the innocent. "How dare you!"

"Feeling a surge of anger, perhaps some humiliation?" Elsa's words oozed with sadistic pleasure. "Reduced to a helpless bystander, are we? Imagine my humiliation when you held me prisoner like your helpless captive!"

Emilia's stance shifted as the temperature slowly dropped. However, Elsa was quick to notice, so she leaned closer to Emilia's ear and whispered, "I'm well aware of your intentions. Proceed with caution – one wrong move and my hand might slip. And we wouldn't want any accidents now, would we~?"

The air around Gohan seemed to quiver as if in response to his surging emotions. A dim white flame flickered to life, casting an eerie glow on the dark surroundings. The flame steadily intensified, its radiance matching the intensity of Gohan's unwavering glare fixed on Elsa's sadistic expression.

Their eyes locked in a chilling confrontation, and Elsa's maniacal giggles reverberated in the tense air as she gradually backed away with Emilia trapped in her lethal embrace.

Elsa raised her voice with a perverse excitement and provocation, "I love that look in your eye! Please, give me more~" She then slowly drew her blade under Emilia's throat, eliciting a wince of discomfort from the half-elf before slowly cutting her skin.

Reacting to Elsa's malevolent cruelty, Gohan's figure materialized before them, but her gaze clung to his diminishing afterimage. In the blink of an eye, Gohan's firm hold clamped down on Elsa's arm, thwarting her attempt to inflict further harm on Emilia.

As if unraveling a trick of light, both Emilia and Elsa stood visibly astonished. Finally, the afterimage faded away, leaving Elsa to grapple with the unsettling realization that her perception had been manipulated.

With unyielding fury in his eyes and contorted expression of rage, Gohan met Elsa's startled gaze and declared, "I'm going to hit you..." Wresting the blade from her grip, the discarded weapon fell onto the grass, allowing Emilia the opportunity to free herself and retreat to Reinhard's presence.

"Lady Emilia!" Cried out Reinhard in concern as Emilia retreated to his side. "Will you be alright?"

"Yes, I'll survive this." Emilia's nod was accompanied by the intention to tear a piece of her dress for a makeshift bandage.

Yet, before she could proceed, Reinhard intervened with a gentle command, "Hold on. Let me help." He presented her with a handkerchief, a gesture of care and consideration that Emilia gratefully accepted. As she stopped the bleeding on her cheek, she watched intently to see how Gohan would dispatch Elsa.

The assassin's features twisted in a mixture of confusion and disbelief, her voice faltering as she managed to utter, "What?"

As Gohan's statement reached its conclusion — "Until you stay down for good" — Elsa's body was propelled through the air by an invisible force. She collided with the grassy field, the impact resounding in a powerful thud, followed by her form skidding violently across the earth. Emilia winced as she watched, while Reinhard remained undisturbed, revealing his experience with dire situations.

However, Elsa wouldn't stay down. With an undying spirit, she quickly regained her footing and poised herself for escape. Yet, before she could even fully rise, Gohan materialized before her once more. Their gazes briefly met before an unseen force struck with unyielding power, driving Elsa's body forcefully into the ground in front of Gohan. A cloud of dust billowed up, momentarily obscuring the scene before slowly dissipating on the wind, revealing Elsa's sprawled form on the earth.

"That trick won't work on me again," Gohan's voice pierced the tense air, his eyes fixed on Elsa's seemingly unconscious figure. "I can sense that your energy hasn't diminished. If anything, it's growing, a clear indication of the anger that must be consuming you."

As his words lingered in the air, Elsa launched herself at Gohan with a sudden burst of motion, her intent clear — to gouge his eyes out. However, just as she leaped, an invisible shockwave pushed against her, disrupting her trajectory. Unperturbed, Elsa executed a graceful backflip through the air, landing with remarkable poise.

Her calculated grace, however, encountered an unforeseen obstacle as Gohan's fist connected with her face in a devastating punch. The sheer force of impact sent visible shockwaves through her body, propelling her backward. Her form collided with a sturdy tree, the resulting impact snapping it in half. The once-mighty tree creaked and groaned until it descended with a resounding crash, its broken form pinning Elsa's legs beneath its weight.

Gradually, Gohan's anger diminished, replaced by a surge of concern as he observed Elsa struggling to free herself from the weight of the fallen tree.

"What have I done...? I let my emotions get the better of me!" Gohan's voice reverberated with genuine regret, his gaze fixed on the trapped assassin. He took swift steps forward with the intent to lift the tree off her trapped legs. However, before he could proceed with his plan, Gohan abruptly stopped when he heard Reinhard sternly interject.

"Stop! Leave her there!"

Perplexed, Gohan glanced over at Reinhard. "But why?"

Reinhard's expression was grave as he responded, "Elsa won't be easily dispatched by a mere fallen tree. She will endure."

Frustration welled up within Gohan, conflicting emotions evident in his features. "But we can't just leave her like this!"

Reinhard's voice resonated with unwavering conviction as he addressed Gohan, "Listen closely, Gohan. I'll request a patrol of knights to detain her. Unless you're ready to take her life — and I believe that's not your intention — Elsa will continue to resist. Remember, you saw how she survived even after losing an arm."

From beneath the weight of the tree, Elsa's voice carried an arrogant smirk as she taunted, "Quite the compassionate one, aren't you? How delightfully naive."

Turning his attention to Elsa's bloodied face, Gohan countered with resolve, "I'm not like you. I don't kill without just cause."

Elsa's voice dripped with anticipation as she warned, "Reality will catch up with you sooner or later. And on that day, I'll be eager to witness the monster you'll become."

Gohan's frustration surged, and he rebuked sternly, "Then you'll wait forever because that's not going to happen!"

Elsa's voice carried an unsettling certainty as she replied, "I'm merely acknowledging what's inevitable. I can see it in your eyes. There's a monster underneath, and you're desperately trying to contain it."

Gohan's thoughts raced. 'What? Can she somehow sense my power?' It was as if Elsa had glimpsed a hidden truth through the restrained facade Gohan displayed. 'What if she knows that I can transform?'

Once more, Reinhard's urgent voice called out to Gohan. "Gohan! We've lingered here long enough. We must return to the barracks; we must make haste!"

Reluctantly tearing his gaze away from Elsa's entrancing yet unnerving stare, Gohan nodded and stepped away from her trapped form. Her eyes continued to follow him with an unsettling mix of interest and anticipation. Before the group could depart from the scene, Gohan's white boot seemed to kick something. Glancing down, he noticed Emilia's insignia rolling on the grass.

"The insignia!" Gohan blurted out, much to Emilia's and Reinhard's visible confusion. "What's it doing there?"

Wide-eyed, Emilia searched her pockets before glancing over at Gohan and picking up the item. In his hand was a bright red light emitting onto the surroundings, just as when he held it before. In worried haste, Emilia dropped the handkerchief and ran to Gohan and with her free hand to snatch it from his grasp.

Strangely, the red glow on the insignia diminished when Emilia held it in her hand, yet it maintained its red hue. Meanwhile, Reinhard watched the entire ordeal take place and stared in fascination, however, he chose to remain silent on the matter.

"Emilia," Gohan began with a look of concern. "You have to stop losing that."

"I didn't lose it!" She rebuked with a frustrated stomp. "Elsa must have dropped it when you struck her."

They gave Elsa one more fleeting glance before finally departing from the vicinity, the assassin's eyes diligently followed them as they departed. Along the way, Emilia's fingers gently cradled the insignia with extra care, ensuring she wouldn't lose it again until her gaze shifted to Gohan with a heartfelt expression.

"Thank you for saving me," she whispered, her voice carrying a blend of sincerity and vulnerability. Her smile, like a blooming flower under the moon's tender light, tugged at Gohan's heartstrings.

His response came with a hint of nervousness. "It was no problem. I'm glad I could help. But, um, what happened to your friend Puck? Why wasn't he here to help you?"

Emilia's gaze dropped to the emerald necklace she wore, her fingers brushing against it as she explained, "Puck can't maintain his physical form for prolonged periods. His spirit is resting within this necklace."

Understanding dawned on Gohan's face. "Oh, I see. That's quite convenient."

As the group made their way back to the knight barracks, Gohan's thoughts were divided. His concern for Emilia was undeniable, yet his curiosity lingered on Reinhard's behavior. His gaze shifted to Felt's unconscious form cradled in Reinhard's arms. The knight's expression was focused as if a tempest of thoughts churned in his mind, and it piqued Gohan's curiosity.

'Why did he refer to the girl as "Lady Felt"?' Gohan wondered, a quiet question among the unfolding whirlwind.

[X]

Outside the knight barracks, Ram, the pink-haired maid, maintained a patient vigil, stationed at the very place Emilia had last been. In the corridors of her mind, she replayed the sequence of past events that had led to this mundane moment.

Inside the quiet room within the barracks, Ferris stood in front of Ram, explaining; "He was a strong-looking man in green robes and white boots. Lady Emilia took hold of his hand and then took off in a hurry in search of something important," Explained Ferris with a confident nod and a low meow. "Lady Emilia wouldn't say what it was, however, she did emphasize the importance of it."

Armed with her sharp intellect and quick intuition, Ram had pieced together a likely truth – that the stolen item was none other than the insignia.

Her gaze shifted as she heard a collection of footsteps resounding through an alley and focused intently on it until she saw a traveling group with familiar faces.

Stepping out of the alley was Reinhard, carrying an unconscious blond adolescent. Following after him was Emilia, but something was amiss: Emilia's pristine white dress was marred by crimson stains of blood. Walking beside her was the person who likely matched the description of the green-robed man mentioned earlier. His green robe, too, bore the telltale marks of crimson stains.

"!" Ram's eyes widened in concern, her worry directed at Emilia. She quickened her steps to meet her across the dimly lit street beneath the moonlit sky.

"Miss Emilia!" Ram's voice carried her concern as she stood before Emilia. Then her gaze shifted, fixing on Gohan. The atmosphere around her seemed to bristle with a hint of hostility, the wind responding by picking up its pace. "What led him to harm you like this!?"

Gohan was taken aback by the accusation. "Huh? Why am I guilty before proven innocent? And where's this hostility coming from?"

Emilia raised her hand in a nonchalant gesture. "He's the one who saved my life."

Ram's hostility immediately diminished as she stepped back, her demeanor changing to one of respect. She reluctantly glanced at Gohan before she reverently bowed her head to him. "My apologies. You outrank me as Miss Emilia's savior."

Her eyes shifted back to Emilia, concern evident in her gaze. "Are you hurt badly, Miss Emilia?"

Emilia's lips curved into a reassuring smile, a gentle contrast to her injured appearance. "I'll be fine, Ram. Thanks to Gohan."

Ram's eyes shifted to Gohan once more, acknowledging his noble deeds. "Then my gratitude extends to you as well."

Gohan rubbed the back of his head, a shy expression emerging on his face. "Honestly, I'm just relieved I could be of help."

A brief thought came to mind as Ram's voice held a reflective note. "So it's true," she murmured as if a puzzle piece clicked into place.

Perplexed, Gohan's curiosity flared to life. "What's true?" he asked, his stance leaning to the side in a mix of surprise and innocence.

A knowing glint twinkled in Ram's eyes as she regarded him. "You're the womanizer who exclusively saves damsels in distress."

Gohan's eyebrows shot up in genuine surprise, the revelation catching him off guard. "Wait, are those rumors going around!?"

Reinhard's focus remained on their destination as he continued his stride toward the front entrance of the knight barracks. He didn't pause in his steps but he did speak, his voice carrying clear authority. "Gohan, stay with me. From now on, the maid has been entrusted with Lady Emilia's safety."

Gohan's eyebrows creased with concern, his curiosity piqued as he shifted his gaze between Reinhard and Ram. "Only one maid?" he questioned, his tone laced with concern before his attention returned to Ram. "Ah, I can see it now. There's a dormant yet formidable power within you."

Ram's brow furrowed at Gohan's observation, her concern evident. "What do you mean by that, sir?"

Emilia chimed in, explaining on Gohan's behalf. "Let me clarify, Gohan can sense people's energy from across the world without needing to know who they are or ever meet them in person."

Ram blinked several times, her surprise was evident as she processed the information.

Gohan nodded in agreement with Emilia's statement. "Though I must admit, it's easier to sense the energy of those with greater power. But enough of that, Emilia, this is goodbye."

Emilia returned his nod with a warm smile. "Farewell to you as well. Although call it a hunch, I sense that our paths may cross again."

Gohan arched an eyebrow, curiosity was evident in his gaze. "You seem to know something that I don't. Are you keeping something from me?"

Emilia let out a light giggle before confirming his suspicion. "Reinhard knows the details. Now go, he's waiting for you."

Gohan's attention shifted back to Reinhard. The red-haired knight stood by the entrance of the barracks, flanked by two armored knights. It was very likely that he was in the process of requesting a patrol of knights to detain Elsa's body, which should still be trapped under a heavy tree.

Finally disengaging from Ram and Emilia, Gohan pivoted his focus, locking eyes with Reinhard's intent gaze. Emilia, in her innocence, offered a parting wave, even though Gohan had averted his eyes from her. Meanwhile, Ram retained her customary demeanor, poised for their departure.

Proceeding to follow Reinhard through the open doors of the barracks, Gohan wordlessly followed the knight through winding halls and corridors until they arrived at a familiar doorway.

Reinhard turned his gaze to Gohan and spoke with authority, "Wait within this room, please. It might be familiar to you."

"Are you going somewhere?" Gohan inquired, his expression concerned.

Still holding Felt in his careful embrace, Reinhard clarified, "I must ensure that Lady Felt is entrusted to capable hands. It's a matter of great importance." And with that declaration, Reinhard swiftly traversed the halls until he vanished from sight.

"Okay then..." Gohan muttered with a yawn. "I'll just wait in there."

[X]

Inside the knight barracks, Gohan found himself seated alone at an empty table inside the familiar room where he had previously awoken after his mana gate was destroyed. While staring out into space, he waited for Reinhard to return and explain his situation. Meanwhile, his thoughts wandered back to his world, the battles he had fought, and the challenges he had faced, particularly his grueling encounter with the pink menace known as Majin Buu.

"Every single thing that should have gone right instead went wrong," he mused aloud, his voice carrying a mix of frustration and introspection. "We were so close to stopping the revival of Buu, yet Vegeta let his pride get in the way."

He sighed, his gaze distant as he continued, "But it's not fair to place blame solely on him. If I had been stronger, if I could have defeated Dabura, maybe none of this would have happened. Buu wouldn't have been revived, and I wouldn't have been banished from my world."

Gohan's eyes shifted upward, staring at the ceiling as if seeking answers from the empty air. "What is happening back on Earth? Are my friends and family safe? Will they wish me back with the dragon balls?" The uncertainty gnawed at him, a persistent ache in the back of his mind.

Amidst the gathering of several ki signatures in the hallway, the door to the room creaked open, revealing Ferris peaking through with a mischievous smile. He was now dressed in a formal white uniform that bore a resemblance to Reinhard's attire. However, this time, Ferris was accompanied by several different knights.

Among them, Reinhard was notably absent from their group.

Ferris's gaze met Gohan's with a sense of familiarity and a hint of admiration. Meanwhile, one of the new knights who had entered the room was none other than Marcos Giladart, the esteemed Knight Commander of the Royal Guard. He seemed visibly bothered, as though vehemently reluctant to discard his usual duties.

As his scrutinizing gaze fell upon Gohan, it carried an air of gravity. It was as if he was delving into the depths of Gohan's being, assessing his authenticity and weighing the veracity of the rumors and reports that had circulated.

Meanwhile, two unfamiliar and nameless knights faithfully accompanied Marcos to act as his overwatch.

The room fell silent for a moment, charged with tension and anticipation. Gohan's unease deepened as the weight of Marcos's assessment settled over him, each moment stretching as the Knight Commander's gaze bore into him. The atmosphere grew heavy, almost suffocating as if the very air held its breath in anticipation of the forthcoming exchange.

"Um, hello?" Gohan instinctively leaned back, discomforted by the intensity of the knight's intense stare. "Where's Reinhard?"

Stepping into the open periphery so Gohan could better see him, Ferris replied, "Reinhard's a busy man, he couldn't be here at this time."

"Young man," the stern knight began as soon as Ferris fell silent, now standing firmly across the table from Gohan. His voice carried authority and a demand for the truth. "What is your name?"

Pointing to himself, Gohan replied with a touch of hesitation, "I'm... Gohan."

"Where do you reside?" Marcos inquired his voice firm and direct.

Gohan's response trailed off as he came to a realization. The place he once called home, Mount Paozu, might no longer exist, so he had to think of a reasonable answer. "I've been living as a hermit in the wilderness, without a fixed address."

With a deliberate gesture of his hand, Marcos commanded, "Stand up."

"What?" Gohan's tired expression shifted to one of confusion.

"Given the late hour and the weight of this conversation, I want to ensure you respond with clarity, unburdened by the comfort of a chair."

Perplexed, Gohan complied, pushing himself off the seat and rising to his feet. An uneasy tension settled over him as his gaze met Marcos's unyielding stare once more.

The knight's sharp gaze took in every detail of Gohan's form, his assessment thorough and penetrating. "Is that your blood?" Marcos's inquiry was directed at the crimson stains adorning Gohan's Gi.

Caught off guard by the question, Gohan's eyes shifted to his stained clothing. He admitted with a trace of discomfort, "It belongs to the Bowel Hunter."

Marcos tilted his head slightly, his expression growing more intense as he followed up with another question. "Did you take her life?"

"No, I did not!" Gohan's voice held a mixture of frustration and sincerity. "Reinhard recently requested that she be detained, so she's still alive."

"Explain," Marcos began, his tone demanding further clarification. "How did this situation transpire?"

"I came upon Elsa after she had already killed someone. Her next target was within her sights, so I stepped in to intervene. The unconscious girl in Reinhard's custody was Elsa's intended victim, but I managed to shield her from harm."

"I understand." Marcos nodded, acknowledging the truth behind Gohan's explanation. He continued his assessment with a composed tone, "You possess the build of a seasoned warrior, although you declined Reinhard's offer to enlist."

"Um... I have no interest in wielding a sword," Gohan responded, his tone thoughtful.

Without contemplating Gohan's answer, he shot back with another question, "According to eyewitness accounts, you were responsible for substantial structural damage to an inn, attributed to a confrontation with the Great Spirit, Puck. While the disaster claimed no lives, further reports mention a confrontation with Reinhard, followed by your escape achieved by leaping high into the sky. Are these allegations accurate?"

Gohan cast a glance in the feline's direction, a blend of curiosity and mild exasperation in his expression. "Am I being interrogated?" Asked Gohan with unease.

Ferris's response came with a casual wink, an attempt to alleviate the tension. "Don't worry, just answer his questions honestly, and he won't bite your head off."

Marcos's response was laced with a hint of disinterest as he directed his gaze at Ferris. His voice carried a serious tone, indicating the importance of the situation. "Your sense of humor is misplaced," He stated calmly. "particularly in these circumstances."

With a low meow, Ferris acknowledged his place and backed away, waiting for Gohan's temporary questioning and detainment to end.

As their attention returned to Gohan, he nodded in confirmation of the validity of the reports. "Yes, that was true."

Marcos audibly exhaled, a controlled release of breath that hinted at the weight of his next inquiry. "Reinhard the Sword Saint, claims that you summoned the holy image of Volcanica."

A tense silence enveloped the room, Gohan's anticipation palpable as he awaited the question he expected.

Seeing how Gohan remained silent, Marcos reiterated with a clarity that left no room for misunderstanding, "Did you, in fact, touch the insignia of a Royal Candidate?"

"Yes," Gohan replied, his tone unwavering.

"Why did you steal the insignia of a Dragon Priestess?"

Gohan's response was swift, imbued with his conviction. "I did no such thing! My involvement was in assisting Emilia in retrieving her stolen insignia. After successfully recovering it, a dragon suddenly materialized in the sky. I don't understand why it referred to me as a dragon priest or what it meant by an ancient covenant."

Marcos nodded once more, confirming the accuracy of Gohan's claim. "The holy dragon explicitly used the term 'Dragon priest,' which unquestionably indicates that the fifth royal candidate is a man. This stands in stark contrast to Reinhard's revelation that the fifth candidate is a female. Furthermore, the sudden emergence of a sixth candidate complicates matters, as Volcanica referred to this new contender using masculine terminology."

"Royal candidate?" Asked Gohan, taken aback by this new information, his heart accelerated as he struggled to comprehend the mess he got himself into. Then he remembered how Emilia stated that she believed they might still meet again. The fact that she's a royal candidate proves that her statement is true.

Gohan muttered under his breath, his words almost lost to the air, "So that's what she meant."

Ferris perked up, his ears twitching as he attempted to grasp the significance of Gohan's muttered remark. Meanwhile, the other knights exchanged quizzical glances, their heads inclining slightly.

"If you wish to speak," Marcos interjected calmly, his voice carrying a thread of authority, "do so audibly, so that I may hear your words clearly."

Caught off guard, Gohan blinked and replied, his tone slightly puzzled, "What? I didn't say anything."

"Yes, you did," Ferris's playful tone became firm but patient. "You referred to a certain lady just meow."

Defensiveness crept into Gohan's posture as he crossed his arms, his expression becoming guarded. "I'd prefer to keep my thoughts private."

Marcos nodded. "Very well." Even as Gohan was unprepared to receive more questions, Marcos pressed forward. "There was a recent incident involving the dreaded white whale. No one knows who put an end to it, but Reinhard believes it was you," Marcos stated, his words carrying the weight of seriousness.

"He's mistaken," Gohan shot back, his voice firm and resolute. "I didn't take its life. I merely disoriented the creature before sending it somewhere safe."

Confusion danced among the expressions of the gathered knights, their exchanged glances reflecting their uncertainty. Marcos finally prompted Gohan, his voice maintaining its calm tone, "Explain your reasoning."

Gohan took a moment to gather his thoughts, his tone thoughtful yet determined. "I don't know much, but from my understanding, that creature seemed like an endangered species, probably minding its own business. However, something must have provoked it, leading it to venture into civilization and harm people."

Without waiting a second to contemplate the answer, Marcos interjected "Are you aware of the 400-year-long carnage that monster has wreaked upon the world?" Marcos's voice conveyed a mix of incredulity and sternness.

The recent memory of Emilia mentioning the 400 years resurfaced in Gohan's thoughts. "400 years?" Gohan mused aloud. "So the White Whale is a threat to civilization?" Gohan's voice held a note of surprise and concern.

The knight to Marcos' right suddenly presented a piece of literature to Gohan, to which Gohan accepted. The confused Saiyan regarded the paper note with curiosity, not understanding any of the ink symbols on the rough paper.

"Read the following lexicon," Marcos commanded, his focused eyes discerning the present confusion on Gohan's expression.

Shaking his head, Gohan replied, "I don't understand what it says."

Marcos's gaze sharpened, his tone becoming sharper as well. "Your claim of being a wilderness hermit might not be unfounded. Your inability to read, and the lack of basic knowledge of the world, including the principles of magic suggests an upbringing removed from common societal norms, almost childlike."

Ferris' expression suddenly brightened, as if a crucial memory had just resurfaced within his thoughts. "Speaking of that dragon's image, it did mention something about admiring the noble heart of a specific individual. And interestingly enough, one of the royal candidates is protected by Puck, a formidable spirit. Puck quite fervently attested to the purity of Gohan's heart, despite their initial quarrel that descended into violence."

The recollection of Emilia's explanation, where Puck fervently advocated for Gohan's innocence, flashed through the Saiyan's mind, causing his expression to light up with recognition.

Caught amid this revelation, Gohan's nervous dread couldn't be contained as he asked, "So, what does all of this mean for me? Am I eligible to become the ruler of a nation?"

"Do not kindle your hopes," Marcos replied sternly, his voice carrying a weight of seriousness. "You won't be immediately crowned. With five female candidates already, there's no room for a sixth, especially one who is male. Your eligibility is an anomaly that disrupts the established prophecy."

Gohan's tension eased slightly as if the burden of expectations had been lifted. After all, he had no desire to be entangled in the affairs of a foreign world that wasn't his own.

Ferris chimed in, "However, the dragon's declaration still stands. If a certain someone succeeds in the upcoming trials, the longstanding covenant with Lugnica will be upheld."

Marcos interjected with a measured tone, "This matter should be presented to the Council of Wise Men. They will determine whether this man's presence aligns with the rest of the candidates."

Turning his attention to Gohan once more, Marcos stated, "For now, you are free to leave under the escort of Knight Felix."

"Meow," Ferris added with a playful smile. "You can just call me Ferris."

Marcos didn't respond to Ferris's comment as he turned away, leading the two other knights out of the room through the exit.

Now alone with Knight Ferris, the feline's smile brimmed with a sense of intrigue as his feline eyes scanned the Saiyan up and down. This action sent Gohan's nerves into overdrive.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Asked Gohan with nervous anticipation.

Ferris began with an innocent giggle before revealing, "While you were waiting patiently, Reinhard, in his characteristic manner, graciously suggested that you should be extended the privilege of spending a night at the esteemed Karsten estate. It's a setting where you'll find yourself surrounded by individuals of the highest refinement. You'll witness the fair Duchess Karsten, myself included, and the presence of Miss Emilia, along with her dedicated maid, Ram."

"Why do you make it sound so scandalous?" Gohan's voice expressed anxiousness. "It's just one night!"

Taking a moment to contemplate what Ferris said, Gohan's curiosity took hold, and he inquired, "Wait a minute, you said Emilia would be there?"

"Indeed," Ferris affirmed with a sage nod. "As fate would have it, another encounter with Emilia awaits you in person, though briefly, before she inevitably departs for the Mathers domain early in the morning."

Gohan emitted a contemplative hum. "Funnily enough, Emilia did mention that we would meet each other again."

Ferris's brief hum danced in the air. "Life does possess an art for orchestrating the unexpected." He then leaned closer with a delicate whisper, sending a shiver down Gohan's spine. "You know, if there's a sentiment or truth you're harboring in the depths of your heart, now might be an opportune moment to disclose it to Lady Emilia, before her soon departure."

Gohan's face flushed with a mix of embarrassment and surprise. "I have no such feelings!" he hastily countered. "Can we leave now?"

Ferris finally backed away, offering a reassuring nod. "Certainly, let's us proceed. A waiting carriage stands just outside the barracks, ready to carry us to the Karsten Estate."

As they set off, Gohan's mind wandered to Emilia's ethereal presence, a vision of graceful femininity framed by the cascade of her silver hair and illuminated by the radiance of her warm smile. However, like a shooting star across the night sky, the thought was brief, leaving only a faint trail of her beauty in his consciousness.

Character Perceptions:

Emilia's Perceptions:

The confusion regarding the sudden appearance of the Dragon's image, followed by the sudden destruction caused by the white whale, was too much to process all at once.

Especially when a flying man is seen engaging and overpowering the White Whale with apparent ease. At this time, Emilia fails to make the connection that the flying man was indeed Gohan, despite witnessing him demonstrate unreal abilities.

Emilia was caught off guard when Elsa held her captive as a hostage, however, she was ready to resist at the opportune moment. However, Elsa caught on and warned Emilia not to do as she planned.

Emilia is thankful that she survived the encounter thanks to Gohan, albeit she did suffer some serious cuts.

Watching Gohan overpower Elsa was too much for her to witness, so she occasionally averted her gaze followed by wincing every time a loud hit reverberated in the air.

Emilia's thoughts and concerns:

Gohan's sudden arrival startled Emilia, leading to her accidentally firing upon the Saiyan.

Emilia (thoughts): "Someone's attacking us?" Gasps in shock. "It's just Gohan."

When Gohan punched Elsa and sent her crashing into the tree, Emilia's first instinct was to worry about her well-being, despite Elsa being their enemy. This internal conflict weighed on her.

Emilia (thoughts): "She's our enemy, but I can't help feeling sorry for her. What kind of life has she led to become like this?"

Elsa's taunts about Gohan's hidden darkness struck a chord with Emilia. She couldn't help but consider the possibility that there might be more to Gohan than met the eye.

Emilia (thoughts): "Is there a darker side to Gohan that I don't know about? Or is Elsa simply trying to provoke him? I hope he doesn't give in to anger again."

As Gohan successfully protected her from Elsa's attack, Emilia felt a rush of relief and gratitude. She couldn't help but admire his strength and determination.

Emilia (thoughts): "Thank goodness Gohan was here. I owe him my life. He's a true hero."

Emilia's curiosity about the insignia deepened when it reacted differently in Gohan's hand. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this magical item than she knew.

Emilia (thoughts): "The insignia... why did it react like that with Gohan? Could it be, that he's..."

Emilia's unspoken concern about Puck's absence weighed on her. She missed her spirit companion, and his inability to maintain his physical form left her feeling vulnerable.

Emilia (thoughts): "I wish Puck could have been here to help. His presence always reassures me. But I understand why he can't stay for too long."

[X] [X] [X]

Reinhard's Perceptions:

Reinhard's perceptions have not changed much, however, he initially is under the impression that Gohan vanquished the White Whale. He especially is under the firm belief that Gohan was responsible for summoning the revered image of the dragon, due to Felt's recount of the events that transpired.

Reinhard's thoughts and concerns:

When Gohan appeared suddenly, Reinhard wasn't startled by the sudden appearance, as if expecting Gohan's arrival.

Reinhard (thoughts): "That was a remarkable entrance. As expected of Gohan."

As Elsa was seemingly incapacitated by Gohan, Reinhard was relieved that a dangerous criminal was being brought to justice.

Reinhard (thoughts): "Elsa is notorious for her heinous crimes. Now that Gohan subdued her, it's a victory for justice and safety in our land."

Observing Gohan's interactions with Emilia and Elsa, Reinhard was trying to gauge Gohan's character and moral compass.

Reinhard (thoughts): "Gohan's actions show restraint, but there's more to him than meets the eye. I'll keep watching him closely."

Seeing Emilia injured and in distress, Reinhard expressed a deep sense of concern for her well-being.

Reinhard (thoughts): "Emilia is hurt, but she seems to be in good condition, thank goodness."

Like Emilia, Reinhard was curious about the significance of the insignia's reaction to Gohan. It led to him confirming his statement about Gohan's involvement with Felt and the Insignia.

Reinhard (thoughts): "The insignia's response to Gohan confirms my assertion, that Gohan is a viable candidate."

When Gohan initially moves to help Elsa, Reinhard's stern insistence to leave her trapped indicates that he knows more about Elsa's capabilities and the potential danger she poses.

Reinhard (thoughts): "Elsa is no ordinary criminal. Her abilities are fearsome, and subduing her isn't simple. We need to exercise caution."

Witnessing Gohan's physical prowess and combat skills, Reinhard mentally evaluated how Gohan's strength could be of use.

Reinhard (thoughts): "Gohan's power is undeniable. If harnessed for the greater good, he could be an invaluable asset to our kingdom."

Throughout the encounter, Reinhard was assessing the overall situation, thinking about their next steps, and ensuring the safety of those under his protection.

Reinhard (thoughts): "My primary concern is the safety of the candidates. We must leave here at once."

Elsa's Perceptions:

Elsa Granhiert perceives Gohan as a thrilling challenge. She finds a mix of amusement and intrigue in their confrontation, admiring his confidence but also seeking to push his limits. Elsa revels in the idea of breaking his will and testing his strength, seeing him as an enticing adversary to toy with. Her interactions with Gohan reflect her sadistic nature as she taunts him.

Elsa's thoughts and concerns: (Not in order)

As the battle intensified, Elsa's sadistic side reveled in the challenge Gohan presented.

Elsa (thoughts): "This is exhilarating. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun."

Elsa's realization that Gohan wasn't slowing down made her determined to push herself to the limit.

Elsa (thoughts): "Let's see how well he can keep up with me at hypersonic speeds."

Elsa's frustration grew as Gohan's unwavering composure and skill frustrated her attempts to land a hit.

Elsa (thoughts): "He's quite formidable. I seem to be unable to break him."

When Elsa successfully detached her arm to escape Gohan's hold, she couldn't help but relish in the loss of Gohan's earlier confidence.

Elsa (thoughts): "How delightfully naive! Despite this man's prowess, he's like an unlearned child when it comes to brutality."

Elsa's amusement at Gohan's discomfort with her severed limb only fueled her sadistic pleasure.

Elsa (thoughts): "His reactions are priceless. I will him break eventually."

Ram's Perceptions:

Ram's perception of the man in green robes is initially affected by rumors and her own biases against men. Soon, she realizes that Gohan isn't a bad actor, although she insists that Gohan might only be interested in saving women in distress.

Ram's thoughts and concerns:

Ram initially perceives the man in green robes with suspicion and hostility. She's heard rumors and has her own biases against men, especially those who may seem to intrude into her lady's life. Her thoughts might revolve around the skepticism of his intentions and the fear that he might pose a threat to Emilia. Her first reaction is to confront him, driven by a need to protect Emilia at all costs.

Expressed Line: "What led him to harm you like this!?"

Unspoken Thoughts: "This man in green robes, who just appeared out of nowhere, raises so many questions. Are the rumors true? Is he a threat to Emilia? I must confront him to ensure her safety."

As Ram learns that the man in green robes, Gohan, saved Emilia's life, her perception evolves. Her hostility subsides, replaced by respect for his actions. While her initial doubts are not entirely erased, she acknowledges his noble deeds and expresses gratitude for saving Emilia.

Expressed Line: "My apologies. You outrank me as Miss Emilia's savior."

Unspoken Thoughts: "He did save Emilia's life. I may have been too quick to judge. His actions were noble, and I owe him my gratitude."

Ram's curiosity about Gohan starts to grow. She likely wonders about his background, abilities, and motivations. Her unspoken thoughts may revolve around wanting to know more about this stranger who played a crucial role in their encounter with the white whale.

Expressed Line: "What do you mean by that, sir?"

Unspoken Thoughts: "Who is this man? What are his abilities, and why did he choose to help us?"

As the conversation unfolds, Ram accepts that Gohan might have a particular interest in saving women in distress. While she finds this somewhat amusing, it doesn't detract from her acknowledgment of his deeds. Her unspoken thoughts may reflect a sense of humor and acceptance of this aspect of his character.

Expressed Line: "You're the womanizer who exclusively saves damsels in distress."

Unspoken Thoughts: "Well, it seems he has a thing for saving women in need. It's an interesting quirk, but it doesn't change the fact that he saved Emilia's life. I can't deny that."

[X] [X] [X]

Ferris' Perceptions:

Ferris's experiences are limited but he does know key aspects of the situation. He understands that Gohan saved two female candidates and has inadvertently proven himself to be recognized as a dragon priest by Volcanica's image. Ferris understands that Gohan especially is responsible for discovering the final female candidate by mistake.

Ferris' thoughts and concerns:

There wasn't much for Ferris to react to, thus making it difficult to discern his thoughts and concerns.

Marcos Gildart's Perceptions:

The interruption of his professional duties had evidently bothered him, causing an unwelcome shift in his otherwise well-ordered schedule. This was a man who took his role as the captain of the Royal Guard seriously, and any deviation from his duties was a source of frustration.

He had built his belief on the already established prophecies for the throne of Lugnica, and the presence of an unexpected candidate like Gohan was an unwelcome deviation from the expected course of events. Marcos was determined to uncover any discrepancies in Gohan's account that could challenge the established prophecies.

Despite the tension and the gravity of the situation, Marcos remained composed and professional, but a subtle undercurrent of unease and frustration simmered beneath the surface. This interruption had thrown a proverbial wrench in the works, and Marcos was determined to get to the bottom of it.

Marcos Gildart's thoughts and concerns:

As Marcos Gildart conducted his interview with the enigmatic stranger, Gohan, his thoughts remained inscrutable, concealed behind the stoic facade of the Knight Commander. Despite the gravity of the situation, his stern countenance concealed any hint of the internal turmoil swirling within him.

When his gaze bore into Gohan's, scrutinizing the authenticity of the rumors and reports that had circulated, Marcos concealed his thoughts adeptly. He understood the importance of this encounter and the potential implications for Lugnica, but his mind remained a fortress of unreadable musings.

As the questioning proceeded, Marcos maintained his authoritative and demanding tone, concealing any personal sentiments that might have stirred within him. Gohan's responses were noted and assessed meticulously, and even the revelation of the royal candidates and the dragon's declaration did little to betray Marcos's internal thoughts.

When the matter was deferred to the Council of Wise Men and Gohan was granted temporary freedom, Marcos maintained his facade of unwavering professionalism. Any doubts or concerns he might have harbored were buried deep within his disciplined exterior.

Ferris's playful demeanor and the unexpected invitation to the Karsten Estate might have piqued Marcos's curiosity, but his outward expression remained resolute and impartial. He had a duty to fulfill, and personal musings would have to wait until the appropriate time.

In the end, Marcos Gildart's unspoken thoughts remained an enigma, hidden behind the facade of the esteemed Knight Commander of the Royal Guard.

The night had fallen, casting a veil of darkness over the Royal Capital. The alleys and streets were cloaked in shadows, stretching far and wide. Inside the rapidly moving carriage, Gohan sought solace as his tired body sprawled on the carriage floor, legs resting on the cushioned seats. Despite the gentle bumps along the carriage's path, his weary frame found ease, surrendering to the motion of the journey. The bold crimson stains on his green Gi contrasted sharply with the spotless interior of the carriage.

Taking charge of the carriage was Ferris, his grip steady on the reins. He expertly directed the movements of the powerful ground dragon. Despite the dragon's lack of wings, the beast stood tall at nine feet, boasting undeniable strength that pushed the carriage forward with purpose. Its rhythmic footsteps created a harmonious rhythm on the cobblestone streets, providing a melodious beat to their midnight trip.

Amidst the rhythmic swaying of the carriage and the all-encompassing darkness of the night, Gohan's weary mind delved into the realm of dreams. As slumber overtook him, his consciousness weaved into familiar images and sensations, transporting him into a realm of memories.

In this dream, he stood atop a grassy hill, the breeze caressing his hair with a gentle touch. The moon hung low in the sky, casting a soft, silvery radiance across the landscape. Before him stretched a vast expanse of stars, each one twinkling like precious diamonds on the canvas of the night.

His gaze fixed upon the stars, each one seemed to hold a memory, a fragment of his past. Fleeting glimpses of his friends, family, and the battles he'd fought flashed before his mind's eye. Nostalgia and longing enveloped him, the weight of his experiences etched into the constellations above.

But then, a figure materialized beside him, a figure all too familiar. Emilia's silhouette stood there, her silver hair gleaming in the moonlight. Yet, her face remained hidden behind a dense shroud of darkness, denying him a glimpse into her eyes. Strangely, the apparition had pointy elven ears, a trait that Emilia was reluctant to reveal in person. This led to Gohan with the initial impression that Emilia's ears were normal like everyone else's.

Startled by the sudden presence, Gohan stepped back. The air around the apparition felt oppressive, akin to a chilling nightmare that stripped him of speech and movement. Despite the woman's stationary form, she seemed to draw nearer, shrouded in an unsettling stillness. Trapped in a whirlwind of confusion, Gohan's heart raced as if he had stumbled into the part of the dream where inexplicable death loomed. Slowly, the tendrils of wakefulness reached him, the sensation of Ferris nudging his shoulder gradually pulling him out of the unsettling dream.

As he awoke, the image of the shadowy figure with silver hair lingered fresh in his mind. His form was damp with sweat, his breath heavy with confusion, hovering between the boundary of dream and reality.

Standing outside the opened cart door was Ferris, looking over Gohan with a characteristic grin. "Aw, a bad dream?" Ferris's voice held a playful tone. "No need to keep me in suspense, Gohan. We've reached our destination."

The weary Saiyan let out a tired groan. "That was quick." He stood up from his makeshift resting spot with an almost uncoordinated movement, then sluggishly made his way to the carriage's side. As his boots touched the pavement, his gaze lifted to take in the grandeur of the Crusch Estate.

They were just outside the main gate, where an unnamed guard was stationed for the night shift, looking over them with a concerned gaze.

With a nod, Ferris turned, gesturing for Gohan to follow. "Stick close to me so Wilhelm doesn't mistake you for a crazed intruder. We wouldn't want him attempting to carve you up, now would we?"

Gohan's eyes shifted to the crimson stains on his gi, understanding Ferris's caution. "Got it. I'll stay by your side."

Their entrance into the estate was calm and uneventful. As they passed through the front doors, Gohan took in the opulent surroundings of the large living room. Within the large room, his gaze settled on a flight of stairs leading to an indoor balcony that overlooked the front entrance. There, he spotted Emilia seated gracefully beside a small round table. Across from her sat an unfamiliar woman with dark green hair, clad in an elegant nightgown. Both women wore nightgowns of different colors and patterns, each exuding an air of femininity.

With a leisurely stride, Ferris announced, "Miss Crusch, by Reinhard's request and your clearance, I have brought your distinguished guest."

The woman with dark green hair cast a fleeting glance down the balcony, acknowledging Ferris's announcement. Emilia's curiosity sparked as she looked down with anticipation.

"Who's the new guest?" Emilia inquired eagerly before rising from her seat as she recognized Gohan from a distance. "Gohan? But where's the distinguished guest that was mentioned?"

Holding a glass of wine, Crusch clarified, "The distinguished guest is Gohan, whom I'm sure you've met before." Then took a sip of her drink upon returning to silence.

Emilia's realization was swift. "Ah, of course..." She found her seat once more but continued staring at Gohan with a mix of interest and anticipation.

On the indoor balcony, an elderly butler with an air of confidence stepped into view, his gaze meeting Gohan's with a scrutinizing yet thoughtful expression. "So he's the fated man of the hour?" commented Wilhelm passively.

Ferris nudged Gohan's shoulder to get his attention. "You'll want to meet Old Man Wilhelm upstairs. He'll help you find something clean to wear."

Amid an opulent and lavishly designed bathroom, featuring a generously sized bathtub, the unclothed Saiyan lowered himself into the inviting warmth of the water. His expression was stern, reflecting the depth of his thoughts and emotions.

'Unbelievable! This is beyond ridiculous,' Gohan's inner voice ranted, his growing annoyance evident from his furrowed brows. 'Why am I trapped in this world? I should be back on Earth, getting ready for another day of high school!'

His gaze shifted momentarily toward the shower room's exit. He could detect the distinctive Ki signature of the elderly butler on the other side, a reminder that assistance was readily available once he completed his bath.

'And what about Majin Buu?' His thoughts took on a suspenseful tone. 'Did things turn out okay? Did Dad and Vegeta finally manage to put their differences aside and unite against that monster?'

Soon, the well-built Saiyan emerged from the shower, wrapped in a towel. As anticipated, Wilhelm was stationed outside the door, holding out a fresh set of clothes.

Wilhelm offered a nod of acknowledgment before extending the new attire. "I apologize if the garments are not a perfect fit. Given the circumstances, this is the best I could arrange without proper measurements."

"No problem," Gohan responded with a nod. "As far as I know, I'll only be here for a single night."

After his bath, Gohan found himself in a well-lit closet, standing before a mirror. He had exchanged his towel for a casual short-sleeved green shirt that flowed down to his waist. The shirt was adorned with red outlines on the collar and sleeves, creating a distinct look that set it apart from his usual green Gi. His black pants offered a comfortable fit, and his choice of footwear consisted of white sandals that mirrored the color of his previous white boots.

"These clothes sort of match the color scheme of my Saiyaman getup," Gohan mused, noting the resemblance. He wore a green shirt, black pants, and white scandals.

Behind him, Wilhelm stood patiently. "May I assume that the attire meets your approval?"

Turning to face the butler, Gohan offered an appreciative nod and a thumbs up. "Absolutely! You've got quite the sense of style, sir!"

"Just as you had indicated," Wilhelm responded calmly. "I merely selected a set of garments that would align with your color preferences."

"Can I head to my assigned room now?"

"You have the clearance," the butler responded with a polite nod. "However, the Duchess of the manor wishes to speak with you. Of course, if you prefer to retire for the night, I can inform her accordingly."

Gohan considered for a moment. "No problem, I'll go talk to her."

Still seated around the small round table were Emilia and Crusch, deeply engrossed in a discussion about the events of the day. Next to them was an open window to the outside balcony, the wind pouring in occasionally, causing each woman's hair to flow beautifully. Crusch's wine glass had been drained, a clear indication of the time that had passed and moments she spent conversing with Emilia.

"But when Gohan held the insignia," Emilia continued the conversation in a measured tone until her eyes reflected a sense of wonder, "the contrast was almost like comparing the gentle radiance of the moon to the brilliant blaze of the sun."

Crusch listened intently, absorbing the details. In her mind's eye, she imagined Gohan holding the insignia, causing it to emit an otherworldy glow in comparison to the usual hue it emits when held by a dragon priestess.

It was now Crusch's turn to speak, as Emilia had finished her explanation. Crusch began with a demeanor of remembrance. "Your account brings to mind a theory that Ferris shared with me."

"A theory?" Emilia inquired, clearly intrigued.

Crusch nodded as she tilted the empty wine glass in her hand, seemingly disappointed that she ran out of beverages to drink. "Considering the superstitious tendencies of Lugnica's knighthood and the deeply ingrained patriarchal values of the nobility, Reinhard might be inclined to propose a union between Gohan and Felt."

Emilia's brows furrowed with concern. "Marriage? But why between the two of them?"

Placing down the empty wine glass, Crusch her account. "Reinhard might argue that it was fate that brought Gohan into contact with Felt, leading to the summoning of the dragon's revered image," Crusch explained, her voice thoughtful. "It's not a prediction of what Reinhard will do, but based on Ferris' insights, I believe it may come to pass."

Emilia thought for a moment, remembering how she initially met Gohan in the alley. "But if we're referring to fate, wouldn't that include me?" Asked Emilia as she innocently held her hand above her heart. "Since Gohan was involved with returning my stolen insignia, wouldn't that tie his fate to mine as well?"

Crusch briefly covered her mouth, her expression turning contemplative. "Are you suggesting that Gohan should have you, Emilia, as his second wife?" An intrigued expression was on Crusch's face.

Blushing furiously, Emilia waved her hands hastily, attempting to steer the conversation away, "No-No! That's not what I meant at all!"

"Furthermore," Crusch continued, transitioning back to the main topic. "The noblemen and patriarchs might be more willing to support Gohan, given that he's a man," Crusch briefly paused, waiting for Emilia to add anything, but was met with silence. "Especially when they discover his formidable ability to subdue a great spirit and overpower the White Whale. And especially because Gohan has the formidable build of a warrior. Ultimately, time will reveal whether the Wise Council will accept him as a contender in the election."

"So, then..." Emilia began with a curious expression. "Why didn't Reinhard arrange for Gohan to stay with Felt?"

"I should have mentioned that Gohan's existence contradicts a long-standing prophecy related to the Royal Selection," Crusch explained as she recollected. "This is what led to Reinhard's request to house Gohan in one of the Astrea estates being declined, ultimately influencing his decision to send Gohan to my domain."

"I see," Emilia pondered in realization. "So, Gohan's presence has already faced rejection from the start."

"Indeed," Crusch nodded sagely. "Gohan won't be receiving indiscriminate support simply because he's a formidable man."

Just then, Gohan and Wilhelm entered the indoor balcony, the former looking considerably tidier in fresh clothes. Emilia's embarrassed expression transformed into an innocent smile as she observed Gohan's new appearance.

"Gohan!" Emilia began her eyes scanning him up and down. "You're looking much cleaner now. And you look better in regular clothes."

Gohan's initial smile wavered as he stopped in place to process her comment. "Better? Were my previous clothes not stylish enough?"

Baffled, Emilia responded, "Stylish? I'm not sure how your dirtied garments have anything to do with being stylish."

"I mean before the..." Gohan's shoulders slumped in defeat. "Sigh, Never mind."

Eyes still on Gohan, Crusch gestured to an empty chair. "Please, have a seat. Let's discuss today's events."

With a thankful nod, Gohan took his place with them at the small round table. Soon the realization donned upon him, that he was situated between two elegant females, both of them regarding him with curiosity and interest in their eyes. Each woman's elegant nightgown framed their delicate figures, adding to the adolescent's imagination.

'How did I end up here again?' Gohan wondered, his expression revealing his nervousness. 'Right, it's just one night they said.'

Wilhelm gave a polite bow. "I'll take my leave."

However, Crusch raised her hand, signaling for Wilhelm to stay. "Gohan, would you like something to drink?"

Gohan considered for a moment. "Hm... I could use a drink. Just some water, please."

Wilhelm nodded and turned to leave. "Of course, I'll attain some water for our esteemed guest."

As Wilhelm calmly stepped away from the small round table, Crusch initiated the conversation. "Where are you from?"

"I'm just a hermit from the wilderness," replied Gohan, his response almost practiced.

A gentle breeze wafted through the open balcony window, casting a subtle shift in Crusch's expression from curiosity to a more stern demeanor.

Unperturbed, Crusch continued, "How did you find yourself in the Capital of all places?"

"I ventured too far and got lost," Gohan answered, sensing the wind's gentle caress once more. "Seems like a windy night outside," Gohan remarked, glancing at the open windows.

"Why are you being untruthful with me?" Crusch's tone turned more discerning.

Gohan's eyes widened. "What? Untruthful?"

"You're giving me rehearsed answers," Crusch stated firmly. "It's as if you've practiced what to say and how to say it."

Leaning back slightly, Gohan's confusion was evident. "H-How do you know that?"

In contrast, Crusch leaned forward, her gaze fixed on him. "I know now," she responded, choosing to keep her methods hidden. Finally, she leaned back into her seat, waiting for Gohan to explain himself.

"Oh..." Gohan scratched the back of his head as he averted his gaze. "Well, you caught me there."

The concerned Emilia redirected her gaze to Gohan. "Why are you lying? I thought Puck said you had a pure heart." Emilia seemed hurt and visibly betrayed as if her trusted companion had lied to her from the beginning.

"Well, you see, it's just..." Gohan paused, trying to find the right words to say. "Okay, the truth is, I'd rather not talk about myself."

"..."

"It sounds like you've had a challenging past," Crusch noted. "I won't press any further."

A moment of silence hung in the air until Wilhelm returned, a decently sized glass of water in his hand. With a gentle demeanor, the butler placed the glass near Gohan's side of the table before discreetly stepping aside as Gohan focused on his drink.

"Will this be all?" the butler inquired.

Amidst the silence that followed, the butler received no immediate response. With a respectful bow, he retreated quietly from their presence.

After finishing his water, Gohan gently placed down the glass. "Alright," Gohan began, breaking the silence. "I'm ready to open up."

Both women's expressions softened as they prepared to hear his story.

"To answer your two questions properly, firstly, I come from Mount Paozu, a mountainous region in the wilderness. And secondly, I was engaged in the toughest battle of my life. Shortly after being defeated, and without any apparent reason, I found myself waking up in what I understand is the Capital of Lugnica."

Crusch scrutinized Gohan's expression, searching for any signs of untruthfulness, but she seemed to be satisfied with his honest response.

Stepping into view to meet them was Ferris, now adorned in a fairly feminine nightgown. "I've never heard of Meow'nt Pow Zoo," Ferris remarked, his feline tone curious. The feline preferred to remain standing behind an empty seat situated next to Gohan's.

Glancing to Ferris, Gohan corrected, "No, it's pronounced Mount Paozu."

"M'meow'nt Powzoo?"

Gohan's patience waned as he retorted, "N-No, tsk, forget it."

Crusch hummed in contemplation. "The toughest battle of your life? Given what I've heard about you, I can only imagine what kind of enemy you were facing."

"He's called Majin Buu." Gohan began, unknowingly adorning a fierce expression on his face. "He's a ridiculous fat-looking pink blob. He looks pathetic, but he wields dangerous magic. He's incredibly powerful, with enhanced speed and durability, complemented by the ability to swiftly regenerate from fatal wounds. And finally, he has the uncanny power to turn his opponents into candy."

Emilia's worried eyes expressed astonishment. "Turning people into candy? That's horrifying!" Emilia seemed to believe his claim despite how outlandish it sounded.

"I find that hard to believe," Crusch stated with astonishment. "Your earlier statements, which were untrue, seemed far more reasonable in comparison."

"Hold on, can you read people's minds?" Gohan asked, visibly curious.

Crusch shook her head. "No, I cannot. Otherwise, I wouldn't require asking you for anything. But let's say I have a good sense of observation."

"Ah, I see." Gohan nodded in understanding. "Then you must be quite perceptive."

Crusch continued, undeterred. "Moving forward... earlier today, when your unconscious body was discovered amidst a gathered crowd, some influential noblemen attempted to pin the death penalty on you. They accused you of causing property damage and potentially killing their clients. However, once it was determined that no lives were lost in the destruction of the inn, the penalty was reduced to several years of imprisonment."

Gohan's brows furrowed to match the severity of her claims, but he remained attentive.

Seeing that Gohan had nothing to interject, Crusch pressed on, "Ferris claims that the magical restraints proved insufficient to contain you, despite your destroyed mana gate. Had Emilia not vouched for your innocence and pledged to compensate for the damages to the city, what would you have done?"

"I would have fled into the wilderness to live as a hermit," Gohan replied without giving it much thought.

"If you were treated as an enemy of the state and faced persecution in the wilderness, what would you do then?"

"I would leave the country."

"Wouldn't you consider fighting back?"

Gohan weighed his response. "It depends. While I'm sorry for attacking Puck, I believe I would try to avoid confrontation depending on the circumstance."

Crusch pressed on. "When faced with a monster that's dangerous to the population, what would you do?"

"I would try to find a way to spare its life," Gohan answered without hesitation. "But if there's no other choice, then I'd have to destroy it."

"Why didn't you destroy the White Whale when you had the chance?" Crusch finally inquired. "Or do you lack the means of killing it?"

Gohan took a moment to collect his thoughts. "I first encountered the White Whale when I stumbled upon a giant tree that stretched beyond the clouds."

"Flugel's Tree?" Ferris chimed in from his position, leaning beside an empty seat.

"I don't know its name," Gohan replied, his gaze distant. "I was beneath that towering tree, marveling at its grandeur, when I felt the energy of the White Whale. It was one of the most extraordinary creatures I've ever encountered."

"Weren't you afraid of it?" Emilia asked, her voice tinged with a mix of curiosity and anxiety as she tried to imagine the terrifying white whale from the stories she had heard and the sightings above the Capital.

Gohan shook his head, a faint smile touching his lips. "No, fear wasn't my first reaction. I was captivated by the sheer audacity of its existence, by how it defied the norms of nature. It floated in the air without wings or the use of Ki, and that mystery intrigued me. But then, that curiosity led to an unexpected confrontation. I was already in a hurry, so I ended up punching it into the Earth."

The group seemed to collectively visualize the scene – Gohan, minding his own business until he punched a monstrous white whale down to the ground. Emilia found herself drawing a mental parallel to how Gohan had punched Puck's enlarged form into the side of an inn during their earlier encounter.

As Emilia and Ferris exchanged glances, their focus returned to Crusch, who appeared absorbed in Gohan's narrative. At this point, her keen observation hadn't caught onto any falsehood.

Gohan's story continued his voice a steady stream. "I was in a hurry to find Majin Buu, so I fled the scene. I planned to return later and decide what to do about the White Whale. However, it seems the creature followed me to the Capital. Or perhaps, when I touched that insignia, it somehow attracted the White Whale to me."

Crusch interjected with a discerning gaze. "But you've mentioned that you regained consciousness in the Capital after your battle with... with a Majin."

"Yes, I made no mistake in my earlier statement."

"But you're saying that you attracted the white whale to the Capital."

"That is also true."

"Explain."

"First, after my defeat at the hands of Majin Buu, I regained awareness in the Capital. Driven by my urgency to fight him again, I fled the Capital and encountered the White Whale near Flugel's Tree. The White Whale's presence was too distracting, so I punched it, and although it seemed incapacitated, it's possible my actions provoked it into pursuing me."

Crusch pointed out, "Flugel's Tree is quite a distance from the Capital. If you had left the Capital and quickly arrived at Flugel's Tree, your interaction with the White Whale must have been brief, allowing you to promptly return to the Capital."

"No, it didn't happen that way," Gohan clarified. "After the encounter with the White Whale, I continued my journey and eventually arrived at what looked like the end of the world. There, I faced an unending expanse of fog, like an abyss that stretched on forever. It was honestly quite creepy."

Crusch probed further, "But the Great Waterfall is even farther away, and yet you arrived there on the same day?"

Emilia chimed in, "Actually, Gohan can move at incredible speeds. I witnessed him quickly traversing the Capital while searching for Felt."

"Returning to the subject..." Crusch interjected with a calm focus. "Gohan, are you implying that the White Whale's attack on the Capital was your fault?" Crusch inquired, prompting concerned glances to be exchanged between Ferris and Emilia once more.

Gohan's gaze met hers with a somber gravity. "It's a possibility. When I confronted the White Whale a final time, I felt a sense of responsibility for provoking it, which influenced my decisions. I believe I have the means to defeat it, but sparing its life was my choice."

A spark of realization illuminated Emilia's features. "Wait a moment... Gohan was the flying man who fought the White Whale above the Capital?"

"Who else?" Ferris chimed in, his voice carrying an air of amusement, "You saw how effortlessly Gohan sent an enlarged spirit crashing into the side of an inn."

Gohan nodded, acknowledging their observations, yet maintaining his silence.

Crusch weighed her words, her thoughts forming like ripples on calm water. "The accounts from the citizens on the ground might have been exaggerated, but I find it hard to dismiss the rumors entirely. Although I wasn't present, I did receive reports of a flying man engaging and seemingly overpowering the White Whale above the Capital."

"I'm such a dunderhead..." Emilia's self-admonishing mutter escaped her lips, revealing her astonishment. She redirected her gaze to Gohan, a mixture of awe and sheepishness in her eyes. "I've seen your incredible strength, your ability to soar through the sky, your unmatched speed... and yet, I failed to put the pieces together."

Gohan nervously averted his gaze, choosing to look into the emptied glass of water in front of him.

Turning her attention back to Gohan, Crusch posed a question with genuine curiosity, "Do you harness Yang magic?"

Shifting his attention to Crusch, Gohan shook his head to issue a correction. "No, I don't manipulate any form of magic that relies on a mana gate. My abilities are rooted in a different source of energy called Ki. It's a force that resides within all living beings, similar in concept to mana. I understand it can be confusing since they seem similar, but Ki and mana are distinct."

Crusch's thoughts churned as she processed the information. "Given what you've described, you can be considered a practitioner of a newly discovered form of magic, one that doesn't require the use of mana or a functioning gate."

Gohan's expression became serious as he retorted, "No, it's not magic."

Unperturbed, Crusch continued in a calm tone, "Your understanding of Ki might lead you to that conclusion, but to those who lack understanding, Ki will always appear magical."

Frustration evident in his actions, Gohan rested a hand on the table and reiterated, "Well, it's not magic, alright?"

"Very well," Crusch nodded, briefly closing her eyes before opening them again to meet his gaze. "But be prepared to defend your perspective whenever it's challenged."

Gohan's determination remained unwavering. "I am fully capable of defending my perspective." He spoke with conviction. "Even those who don't understand how to manipulate Ki can inadvertently benefit from it. An undisciplined fighter may unknowingly infuse their attacks with Ki, much like a knight forcefully swinging his sword. Though it might not appear as though they're harnessing any power, they're utilizing minuscule amounts of Ki to increase the strength of their attack."

Crusch raised an eyebrow, considering his point. "Are you prepared to provide that same explanation to the hundreds of people who insist that Ki is magic?" Her tone was both thoughtful and pragmatic.

Gohan raised a finger, indicating his intention to interject, but he lowered his hand when he found himself unable to formulate a response. He hummed in realization before commenting, "This might seem off-topic, but I've heard someone mention that Magic is essentially science without a proper explanation. Does that make sense?"

The indoor balcony fell into a moment of silence as they all stared at him, processing his words. Ferris was the first to break the silence, retorting, "Meow? That doesn't make any sense, considering there's much knowledge regarding the topic of magic."

In a jovial tone, Crusch added, "Gohan, you're as naive as Ferris claims."

Gohan met her gaze with a concerned look. "I hope she didn't tell you anything too outrageous."

Emilia and Crusch gave the visibly flattered Ferris knowing glances as if they were in the know and Gohan wasn't. Returning their gazes to meet the visibly confused Gohan, Crusch elaborated, "In contrast to Ferris, the maid certainly had a colorful account of your character. She adamantly insisted that you're a womanizer who tracks potential damsels by following traces of their mana."

"Really!?" Gohan leaned back in his seat. "I don't even know who she is, yet she's already acting like I'm the scum of the earth? Where is she exactly?"

"She's asleep at this time," Emilia clarified, glancing down the hall where her room would most likely be found. "I had Ram worry about my safety throughout the day. It must have taken a toll on her."

Crusch, however, changed the topic with a serious tone. "Let me ask one more thing."

Gohan nodded attentively. "Sure, what is it?"

"Are you consistently able to detect the White Whale's energy?"

"If I'm close enough to it, then yes. The White Whale emits a significant amount of energy. However, it's still too small for me to accurately pinpoint its exact location at the moment."

Crusch's expression turned more intense. "The next time you encounter the White Whale, I need you to inform me first. Regardless of what you decide to do, I want you to refrain from destroying it."

Gohan looked puzzled. "What do you mean?"

"Gohan," Crusch's expression was stern, her tone filled with the authority of a Matriarch. "Promise me that if you come across the White Whale again, you will inform me before taking any action against it."

"Alright," Gohan agreed readily. "I promise."

"Meow." Ferris began, his tone thoughtful. "Where will you go after tonight, Gohan?"

Glancing over at Ferris, Gohan responded, "Well, I'm essentially homeless. But don't worry about me. I have great experience living in the mountainous wilderness all by myself, so I'll be just fine."

Ferris expressed a look of concern. "Wouldn't you prefer to stay here a bit longer? We could arrange for you to meet Miss Hoshin once more."

"Miss Hoshin?" Gohan mused, trying to recall where he had heard that name. "That name sounds familiar. Who is she?"

"Miss Hoshin is also a royal candidate, and she's the master of the Iron Fang Maiden you rescued from a dangerous mana barrier – the powerful energy that destroyed your mana gate," explained Ferris with a look of remembrance.

"I remember her now!" Gohan's expression lit up in realization but then turned contemplative. "Wait, I didn't know that woman was a candidate." He then turned to Ferris and naively asked, "Are you a royal candidate too?"

The feline's slender tail wagged curiously after processing Gohan's question. Immediately, Ferris held his stomach and burst into uncontrollable giggles, much to Gohan's visible confusion. The Saiyan glanced over at Emilia and Crusch, catching both of them trying to stifle their laughter. Emilia was holding her breath, her face turning slightly red, while Crusch managed to maintain a more composed demeanor but by no means made an effort to mask her amusement.

"I must be mistaken," Gohan said in an embarrassed tone.

"Gohan," Crusch began, her tone now calm and serene. "I'm another royal candidate, and Ferris is my Knight," explained Crusch with a calm expression of innocence. "Also, he's undoubtedly male."

As he processed that information, Gohan's expression turned into a mixture of surprise and embarrassment, causing Ferris to giggle even more. Now leaning a bit closer to Gohan's ear, Ferris whispered playfully, "But don't let that stop you from treating me delicately, alright, Gohan?"

From his seat, the visibly horrified Gohan leaned away from the feline with a nervous exhale. "Let's talk about something else, please!"

Ferris gave Gohan some space, still wearing a playful grin. "Going back to our previous topic, I was wondering if you might consider staying a bit longer. Unless you're really into wilderness survival, I think you should let Miss Hoshin express her gratitude. Should you accept, you might become wealthy enough to live a carefree life in the city."

Gohan scratched his head. "Well... I'm not a city person. I prefer being surrounded by lush nature-"

Emilia jumped from her seat, her hands resting on the table as her intent gaze fixed on Gohan. "How about joining us at the Mathers Domain tomorrow morning? It's a territory filled with lush greenery, lakes, and forests. You might find it to your liking. After all, I have yet to properly thank you for saving my life."

Crusch shot Emilia a knowing look, causing the half-elf to blush uncontrollably. Undeterred, Emilia responded to Crusch, "And if Reinhard happens to ask about Gohan's whereabouts, just tell him he's under our care."

In a brief moment of cognitive dissonance, Gohan seemingly forgot about Majin Buu as he stared into Emilia's beautiful eyes. Her nervous expression manipulated his heartstrings and influenced his decisions. "That does sound quite pleasant," Gohan admitted, a small smile forming on his lips. "I accept your offer."

Emilia's previously tense expression melted into relief as she returned to her seat. Now focusing on Gohan she persisted in convincing him. "You'll find that it's quite peaceful there. The Mathers Domain is situated at a comfortable distance from the populated Capital, ensuring a tranquil atmosphere. Yet, it's far from being isolated from civilization. The nearest town is conveniently close by. The maids frequently make trips there to gather supplies for the Manor."

Crusch let out a thoughtful hum, her gaze still resting on Emilia. "It appears that you are quite determined to have him accompany you, even though he's already given his agreement."

As the concerned Gohan glanced between the two women, Emilia averted her gaze with a nervous blush and stood up from her seat at the small table.

"We should get some rest." Emilia began with a nervous and shaky voice. "We have an early morning ahead, after all." With those words, Emilia hastily retreated into the hallway in search of her room.

As Emilia hastily vacated their presence to find her sleeping quarters, Gohan watched her go, his expression a mixture of confusion and curiosity. He then turned his attention back to the remaining occupants of the room, Crusch, and Ferris.

Crusch leaned back in her chair, her gaze following Emilia's exit for a moment before returning to Gohan. She spoke with a calm and measured tone, "Emilia can be quite...determined when she sets her mind on something."

Gohan nodded in understanding, his curiosity still lingering. "I appreciate her hospitality, though. It's a relief to have a place to stay for a while."

Ferris, who had been quietly observing the exchange, finally chimed in with a playful grin. "Indeed, Gohan. You'll find the Mathers Domain to be quite accommodating. And don't worry about the occasional eccentricities of its inhabitants. They're all one big, happy, and slightly quirky family."

Gohan couldn't help but smile at Ferris's comment. "I'm looking forward to it. It'll be a nice change of pace from my usual adventures."

Crusch, ever the composed and thoughtful host, added, "Take the opportunity to rest and recover here. I'm certain that Emilia will be eager to express her gratitude once she's more at ease."

With that, the conversation shifted to lighter topics, as Gohan continued to learn more about his new surroundings and the intriguing people he had encountered in this unfamiliar world.

Finally, Gohan found himself in a lavishly furnished bedroom. The weariness that had settled in finally took its toll as he collapsed onto the plush bedsheets, his shirtless form sinking comfortably into the soft covers. With no need for words, he surrendered to the embrace of sleep, his mind and body seeking much-needed rest.

Succumbing to the realm of dreams, Gohan found himself immersed in a battle against the grotesque pink mass of Majin Buu. Each blow Gohan landed seemed to barely affect the resilient creature. A creepy smirk found its way onto Buu's expression, showcasing his control of the situation. It infuriated the Super Saiyan to no end.

"Damn you! Majin Buu!"

But then an involuntary shift in the images occurred, morphing into a heart-wrenching series of events. Gohan stood there, witnessing his family and friends standing before him with their expressions wearing fear and vulnerability. Immediately their forms began to change, distorting and reshaping, until they were no longer the people he knew. In their place stood life-sized candy replicas, a grotesque mockery of their true selves.

"What!? How could this happen!?"

Desperation clawed at Gohan's chest as he tried to reach out to them with his hands. Yet, his attempts were in vain as the candy versions of his loved ones crumbled, shattered into sugary fragments before his eyes. Their anguished cries echoed in his ears, a haunting symphony of loss.

"No! Don't go!"

Amid this nightmarish scenario, Gohan's gaze turned upward. There, hovering in the air above him, were the familiar faces of Goku and Vegeta. But their expressions were not ones of encouragement or camaraderie; instead, they bore looks of disappointment and judgment. Their eyes, once full of trust, now carried an accusing weight.

"Your son is a disgrace, Kakarot."

"That weakling is no son of mine."

Both Saiyans suddenly charged their signature moves at Gohan, likely aiming to destroy him themselves.

With an awestruck gaze, Gohan cried out, "Dad! Vegeta! What are you doing!?"

Both Saiyans ascended beyond Super Saiyan to charge more power into their attack. Their power was overwhelming, like comparing a pond to the incredible mass of the ocean. Then they unleashed their devastating attacks upon Gohan's helpless body, the attack erasing the scholar from existence.

In the early morning hours, Emilia, fully dressed, graced an elegant chair with her regal presence. The chair's cushion harmonized with the amethyst hue of her eyes. Puck, the enigmatic spirit, hovered playfully just behind her, his delicate paw motions magically weaving a new hairstyle for Emilia.

"Why aren't you wearing your usual clothes, Lia?" Puck lacked nonchalantly, his focus absorbed by the intricate task at hand. "Is there something you'd like to share?"

Emilia's enigmatic smile played on her lips as she replied, "Much has transpired during your slumber, Puck."

Emilia was dressed in white robes sporting triangular feline-like ear shapes on the hood. Underneath her robes was a grey dress.

"Don't keep me in suspense," Puck chimed, his playful demeanor unwavering. With a songful voice filled with grandeur, Puck demanded, "Reveal to me the secrets of that fateful night~"

A soft sequence of knocks resonated at Emilia's door, signaling the beginning of a new chapter in the day's narrative. Outside the room stood Ram, her voice tender yet imbued with a sense of command. "Miss Emilia," she addressed, "I shall prepare the ground dragon for our departure. At your convenience, we shall set out."

"Of course," Emilia acknowledged, her voice maintaining its grace. "I shall join you shortly."

After the morning rituals had been observed, Emilia emerged from her room, stepping gracefully into the hallway. As she strolled along, she eventually encountered Wilhelm ascending the indoor balcony stairs.

The butler looked up and acknowledged Emilia's presence. "Lady Emilia, your diligent maid awaits you outside."

"Actually, where is Gohan's room?"

The butler pondered her question for a moment, his expression stern, but he chose not to question her further. "Right this way."

Guiding her through another set of hallways, the butler finally brought her to Gohan's bedroom door. However, an odd sight awaited them. A radiant luminescence seeped from beneath the door's crevice, casting an eerie glow in the hallway.

Curious, Emilia reached for the doorknob, but the butler gently laid a hand on her wrist, deterring her. With a look of concern, he said, "Please, step aside and allow me."

With one hand resting on the hilt of his sword, Wilhelm carefully opened the door, allowing the bright light to spill into the hall. This strange phenomenon left Emilia's heart racing with confusion.

As the door swung fully open, it revealed a shirtless Saiyan writhing in bed, deeply asleep, but with a noticeable difference. White flames shrouded his form, tracing harmlessly across his Ki-infused, veiny muscles. The Saiyan was lost in a deep sleep, yet he appeared to be under the influence of a troubling dream. His clenched fists and grinding teeth, accompanied by whimpering noises, painted a picture of inner turmoil.

The butler observed the scene with intrigue, while Emilia's face bore an expression of deep concern.

"Gohan!" Emilia cried out, attempting to enter the room, but the butler held his hand in front of her, preventing her from coming any closer.

"Careful, we don't know what is affecting him." Warned Wilhelm with a cautious demeanor of wisdom.

"Then we should call for Ferris!"

The sound of Emilia's voice seemed to calm the sleeping Saiyan, and the white flames dimmed until they vanished completely. Finally, the Ki-infused muscles relaxed until Gohan woke up. His eyes scanned his surroundings until he realized he was being watched.

With a newly focused expression, his eyes locked onto the concerned gaze of Emilia standing at the door alongside Wilhelm. Disorientation briefly clouded his expression, but as the remnants of his troubled dream faded, he slowly began to regain his bearings.

Immediately, Gohan's expression was embarrassed. "How long were you watching me sleep?"

Wilhelm was first to respond, "We only arrived just now."

Emilia's worry softened into a calm expression. "Were you having a bad dream?"

Gohan nodded as he sat up crisscrossed on the bed, though his expression still held traces of lingering unease. "Yeah, it was just a dream," he replied, his voice laced with a hint of relief. "I'll be fine."

The butler withdrew his hand, allowing Emilia to step into the room. She moved closer to the bedside, her amethyst eyes filled with concern and curiosity. "What was it about?" she inquired gently.

Gohan hesitated for a moment as if debating whether to share the details of his dream. Eventually, he decided to speak. "It was about that battle I mentioned last night," he began, his gaze distant as he recalled the vivid images from his dream. "I was fighting Majin Buu until I saw my family and friends being transformed into candy, one by one until it was just me."

Emilia's eyes widened with empathy as she listened to Gohan's account. "That sounds terrifying," she remarked softly.

Gohan nodded again, his features drawn. "And then, in the dream, my father, and his rival, Vegeta... they looked at me with disappointment, like I had failed them. They attacked me, and I couldn't defend myself."

Emilia's expression shifted from empathy to understanding. "Dreams can be strange and unsettling," she said reassuringly. "But remember, they're just dreams, not reality. You're safe here, Gohan."

The Saiyan appreciated her words, and a small, grateful smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "Thank you, Emilia. I know it was just a dream, but it felt so real."

Emilia placed a comforting hand on Gohan's shoulder. "If you ever want to talk about it or need someone to listen, I'm here," she offered sincerely.

Gohan nodded again, touched by her kindness. "I appreciate that, Emilia. You're very kind."

The butler remained in the background, silently observing the exchange. Watching them filled him with a sense of familiar intrigue. He chose not to delve into those memories any further and retreated from their presence, choosing to return to his usual duties.

Emilia retreated her hand from Gohan's shoulder and then glanced at the sweat marring her fingers. With an expression of disgust, she stated, "Gohan, you'll need to shower again before we depart."

"Oh!" Gohan's expression was one of embarrassment. "Of course!"

[X]

Outside the front gates of the Karsten Estate, Ram sat with impeccable posture on the coachman's seat of the carriage, exuding an air of elegance. Her eyes were closed as if she were in deep repose, seemingly detached from the passage of time. However, as the sound of approaching footsteps reached her ears, she opened one eye to satiate her curiosity. Then her focus sharpened as she fixed her gaze upon Gohan, who was accompanying Emilia on her way toward the carriage.

The Saiyan in question was seen wearing his usual incomplete Saiyaman getup once more, however, it was much cleaner and without stains. The long sleeves of the black undershirt were still notably tarnished, however, his green gi was successfully repaired, seemingly as good as new.

A low grumble escaped Ram's lips as she regarded Gohan with an indifferent expression. "So that's why Miss Emilia took her time."

Gohan, feeling somewhat self-conscious under Ram's gaze, scratched his head and let out an awkward chuckle. "Sorry about the delay. Had a rough night and I got hungry."

Emilia, who had been walking alongside Gohan, interjected with an expression of amazement. "Can you believe that Gohan can eat past ten plates of food and still not be fully satiated? It's like he has the appetite of a wild beast-man!"

Ram let a low scoff escape her lips, "Just as I suspected."

Recognizing the look of disgust in Ram's expression, Gohan nervously asked, "Wh-What are you on about!?"

"Miss Emilia." Ram began, now ignoring the presence of Gohan. "Have you said your goodbyes so that we may depart to the Mathers Domain?"

Now that the duo stood before Ram, Emilia clarified, "Ram, I've taken the liberty of inviting Gohan. After all, he did save my life."

Ram couldn't dispute Emilia's reasoning, but her mistrust of the newcomer lingered, regardless of Gohan's good deeds in the capital. "Very well, I shall regard Gohan with higher esteem from now on." She admitted, albeit reluctantly.

Suddenly, a hastily driven carriage pulled up alongside theirs, and from it emerged none other than Reinhard, his visage marred by concern.

"Look," Emilia exclaimed, successfully diverting everyone's attention, "It's Reinhard."

As Reinhard disembarked from the carriage, he recognized Gohan nearby. Without hesitation, the Sword Saint approached the group with resolute strides.

"Gohan," Reinhard commenced once he stood in their midst, "Elsa Granhiert remains unlocated, despite her body having been previously trapped beneath a fallen tree."

"Really? So she's still at large?" Gohan inquired.

Emilia and Ram exchanged glances before redirecting their focus to Gohan and Reinhard.

"Yes," Reinhard affirmed with a nod. "And given your claim to possess the ability to trace the energy signatures of criminals, along with your demonstrated success, the Royal Guard has sought your assistance for at least one day."

Gohan and Emilia exchanged glances, "You should return home without me." Said Gohan in a disappointed tone.

Emilia's expression seemed betrayed. "But I can wait for you to come back."

Ram and Reinhard watched with a look of intrigue, however, they chose not to express their thoughts.

"You should still go." Responded Gohan in a reassuring tone. "There's no guarantee I'll be able to find Elsa that quickly. Besides, you did extend your invite to me, so I'll find my way to your home so long as I'm still welcome."

Emilia lowered her gaze. "Very well." Then she looked up to him in concern. "But how will you find us? Given that it's a far distance from here?"

"Well," Gohan glanced to the side, pondering his options. "I suppose I could ask Miss Karsten for directions."

Reinhard swiftly interjected, determined to expedite the conversation. "You must hurry. The presence of the Bowel Hunter in the Capital remains uncertain."

With a reluctant sigh, Gohan conceded, "Fine, but I'm going alone."

The group watched as Gohan stepped away from them, allowing a slowly growing white flame to form around him. With a slight bend of his knees, Gohan leaped into the sky, disappearing into the clouds.

Ram's expression was one of shock. "H-he can traverse the skies like Lord Roswaal!?"

[X]

Descending from the skies, Gohan landed amidst the grass fields where Elsa had supposedly been trapped beneath a fallen tree. To his astonishment, he found the tree was displaced, as though Elsa had been liberated from her confinement by an external force.

"Did Elsa free herself?" Gohan mused aloud, endeavoring to unravel the enigma.

"It appears so," Reinhard responded calmly as he stood next to Gohan, much to the Saiyan's visible shock and bewilderment.

Gohan stepped aside and blurted out, "How did you get here so fast!?"

Glancing to face Gohan, Reinhard replied with a confident smile, "The divine spirits have graced me with an understanding of Ki manipulation, although my capabilities seem to be inferior at the present moment."

Gohan's expression shifted to one of relief. "That's because it involves training to improve your Ki output. But I'm amazed that you're about as strong as several Saibaman."

Reinhard now expressed bewilderment, "I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with that term."

"Don't worry about it," responded Gohan with a nonchalant shake of his head. "But you should be powerful enough to challenge a great spirit, whom I now come to understand has the power to destroy the world... or perhaps destroy some of it."

"How do you know this about me?" Reinhard's curious expression reverted to one of understanding once he remembered. "Ah, of course, you can measure people's power."

"So, Reinhard," Gohan began, curiosity lighting up his face. "Can you sense Ki now?"

"At the present moment," Reinhard explained, "I can only determine an individual's strength regarding Ki by standing near them. However, I still find it difficult to locate a faraway person by sensing their power. I've been given the understanding of how to locate someone, but it's proving to be challenging when I attempt it."

Gohan offered a sympathetic grin. "It takes time and practice. Perhaps you're expecting to sense anyone, regardless of the distance. You'll find it much easier to sense someone's power if they're nearby or if they're much stronger."

Reinhard nodded in acknowledgment. "I appreciate your guidance. But let's return to the task at hand. Can you sense Elsa Granhiert at this time?"

Gohan briefly closed his eyes in concentration but ultimately shook his head. "No, and if I take off in either direction, I might accidentally go farther away, diminishing my chances of locating her."

Reinhard's expression mirrored Gohan's earlier understanding. "So, you're experiencing the same dilemma as me. It seems we can only detect someone if they're close enough or if they possess formidable power."

Gohan then shifted his focus. "Reinhard, do you know how to flair your Ki?"

"What?" Reinhard inquired, slightly puzzled.

"Do you know how to seemingly increase your Ki output?" Gohan clarified.

"I can try," Reinhard agreed, albeit with a confused expression.

"Good," Gohan continued. "We should split up. If you find Elsa, let me know by raising your power. I'll do the same if I succeed. Agreed?"

Reinhard nodded. "Sounds like a plan. I look forward to our success."

The gathered group of unnamed noblemen and patriarchs sat around a grand, ornate table in the dimly lit court chamber of the Castle, surrounded by the echoes of history found in the ancient tapestries and regal paintings that adorned the walls. The atmosphere in the room was thick with tension as they anxiously awaited the discussion of the incident report, submitted by Marcos Gildart, the esteemed Knight Commander of the Royal Guard. The Commander himself was notably absent from the meeting.

An aged patriarch, his flowing white beard reaching down to his chest, cleared his throat and began to speak in a voice that carried the weight of tradition and superstition. "Esteemed colleagues, we have gathered here to deliberate upon the recent incident report submitted by Knight Gildart concerning the enigmatic individual known as Gohan."

A low murmur of agreement rustled through the chamber, and the assembled noblemen exchanged wary glances.

"As we are all acutely aware," the patriarch continued, "our primary concern revolves around the preservation of the sacred Lugnican Covenant with the revered dragon—a covenant that has sustained our kingdom for countless generations."

Nods of solemn agreement followed his words.

"Moreover," he pressed on, "we must also grapple with the traditional concept of the King, a role steeped in masculinity. However, the prophecies unequivocally state that one out of the five Female Dragon Priestesses shall be chosen to govern Lugnica."

Yet, alone superstitious patriarch, renowned for his unwavering adherence to established prophecy, leaned forward, his voice quivering with fervor. "But what of Gohan? Are we to blindly accept his self-proclaimed status as a 'Dragon Priest'? He might be naught but a deceiver, a cunning charlatan scheming to disrupt our long-cherished traditions!"

A nobleman, his eyes reflecting deep concern, leaned forward in turn. "But let us not forget, Puck himself vouched for the purity of Gohan's heart. Such an endorsement carries considerable weight. It suggests the man's potential to be a benevolent ruler."

A dismissive Patriarch waved a nonchalant hand. "Bah! Spirits and their whims cannot be the foundation of our kingdom's future."

A younger nobleman chimed in, voicing his concerns. "What troubles me more is this 'Dragon Priest' title that Volcanica bestowed upon Gohan. It contradicts everything we understand about the role of dragon priestesses."

The previous patriarch nodded in agreement. "Precisely! We have adhered to the covenant between Lugnica and Volcanica for generations, by adhering to established customs. How can we entrust the future of our kingdom to a male 'Dragon Priest'?"

A prior nobleman stood up, offering a counterpoint. "But if the dragon itself recognized the nobility of Gohan's heart, it hints at a potential shift in our understanding of the prophecies."

The Patriarch rebuked him with conviction. "There is no ambiguity in the established norms. You are simply enamored with the idea of preserving the masculine role of the King!"

A subdued debate unfolded, with some noblemen voicing reservations about Gohan's legitimacy, while others contended that his extraordinary abilities and encounters with the dragon Volcanica could not be easily disregarded.

Amidst the discussion, another patriarch raised a hand, beckoning for silence. "Let us not forget that none of the other female candidates succeeded in summoning the revered image of Volcanica. Thus, we must entertain the possibility that a female Dragon Priestess alone may not suffice to uphold the enduring covenant of prosperity."

A contemplative silence settled over the room, each nobleman lost in thought, pondering the implications of Gohan's involvement, as outlined in the report.

Finally, the wisest patriarch spoke again, his voice unwavering yet contemplative. "Prudence must guide our actions, and further information is imperative. The Lugnican Covenant is a cherished legacy, and we cannot rush to judgments. We shall initiate comprehensive investigations into Gohan's background and abilities before reaching any consensus."

"As we convene," mentioned another patriarch, a rotund figure with a meticulously groomed mustache, "The Sword Saint is overseeing the supposed male Dragon Priest through a series of rigorous trials, one of which involves the capture of the infamous Bowel Hunter. Should he succeed in all things, we may consider the legitimacy of the reports."

The noblemen and Patriarchs nodded in agreement, realizing the gravity of the situation. The preservation of their kingdom's traditions and the revered covenant with Volcanica hung in the balance, and the enigmatic figure of Gohan was an unexpected and possibly disruptive variable in the grand scheme of things.

Character Perceptions:

Emilia:

Emilia was under the impression that she would indeed meet Gohan again due to him being a potential candidate in the Royal Selection, however, she didn't expect to see him again so soon.

Furthermore, the late-night conversations stirred some emotions that will most definitely affect the way she interacts with Gohan in the future.

Emilia's thoughts and concerns:

Emilia is initially shocked by the idea of Gohan marrying Felt. She wonders how Gohan feels about this potential marriage proposal. She recalls their interactions and how he has saved her life, making her feel a sense of attachment to him. She hopes that Gohan's feelings and wishes are considered in this matter.

Unspoken thoughts: "I hope Gohan is okay with all of this. He's been through so much already, and I don't want him to feel trapped or pressured."

Emilia understands that political marriages are not uncommon among nobility and royalty. She thinks about the implications of such a marriage for the Royal Selection and the power dynamics within Lugnica. It's clear to her that Reinhard might be trying to strengthen his position through this union.

Unspoken thoughts: "What is Reinhard trying to achieve with this marriage proposal? Is it all about politics, or does he have Gohan and Felt's best interests in mind?"

As the conversation continues and Crusch mentions Gohan's formidable abilities and support from the nobility, Emilia starts to worry about how Gohan will perceive this information. She fears that Gohan might be thrust into a world of politics and power struggles that he is not prepared for.

Unspoken thoughts: "Gohan's strength and powers are incredible, but I hope he doesn't become a pawn in the political games of the nobility. He deserves better."

When Crusch playfully suggests that Gohan could have Emilia as his second wife, Emilia blushes and is taken aback. Her thoughts are a mix of embarrassment and a desire to clarify that she has no such intentions. She is still grappling with her feelings for Gohan and doesn't want to give Crusch the wrong impression.

Unspoken thoughts: "What does she mean!? I do not ever recall thinking of Gohan in that manner!"

Emilia's heart raced when Gohan agreed to stay at the Mathers Domain. Her initial nervousness about having a stranger in their midst was now replaced with a sense of excitement and anticipation. She hoped that he would feel at home there and that they could get to know each other better.

But what had her flustered were her feelings. She couldn't deny the strong attraction she felt towards Gohan. His kindness, bravery, and the way he looked at her with those gentle eyes had stirred something within her that she couldn't quite put into words. She couldn't help but wonder if there was a deeper connection between them, one that went beyond their chance of meeting in the alley.

As she retreated to her room, Emilia's thoughts were filled with questions and emotions that she couldn't yet express openly.

More of Emilia's unspoken thoughts:

"I can't believe Gohan agreed to stay! This could be a chance for us to bond and become friends."

"I wonder what he's like when he's not in the middle of a battle. What are his interests, his hobbies? I want to learn everything about him."

"The Mathers Domain is such a tranquil place. I hope Gohan finds solace there and enjoys the peace it offers."

"Gohan mentioned he's from a mountainous region. I wonder what his life was like before he came here. There's so much I want to know."

"I can't deny that my feelings for Gohan are growing stronger. But can I afford to get close to someone during the Royal Selection? I need to be careful."

"This could be the start of something special. A new friend in my life, with Gohan by my side. I just hope everything goes smoothly."

"Why is it that every time I think about Gohan, my heart races a little? I have to focus on the Royal Selection, but my feelings are becoming a distraction."

[X] [X] [X]

Reinhard's Limited Ki Manipulation:

Reinhard has been blessed by the spirits, granting him the knowledge of manipulating Ki, due to his desire to track down Elsa Granhiert's energy signature.

However, he finds himself unable to do so. Coincidentally, Reinhard is given the task of overseeing a set of trails that Gohan must complete, one of which includes searching for Elsa Granhiert's energy signature, to confirm Gohan's claims of being able to track people by their Ki signature.

It's crucial to clarify that Reinhard is not an android, a Super Namekian, or a Super Saiyan. He remains a human, albeit one with a permanently damaged mana gate and, by Dragon Ball Z standards, a relatively low power level. Nevertheless, thanks to his divine blessings, Reinhard possesses the strength needed to defeat formidable foes like Demon King Piccolo, Raditz, and powerful monsters in the world of Re:Zero.

At this point, Reinhard hasn't fully unlocked the potential of Ki manipulation, despite having the advantage of divine blessings. However, Reinhard will soon become talented much like with every skill he endeavors to master. The spirits can learn to replicate Gohan's attempts at Ki manipulation, although their proficiency and power remain inferior, leading to Reinhard's current progress.

Reinhard's thoughts and concerns:

Reinhard contemplated the newfound knowledge of Ki manipulation that the spirits had blessed him with. "This power is different, yet reliable. To think that a functioning mana gate isn't required," he mused his thoughts a swirl of curiosity and wonder.

Despite his newfound understanding of how to manipulate Ki, Reinhard couldn't help but feel perplexed. He had assumed that once he possessed this knowledge, locating Elsa Granhiert would be a straightforward task. However, as he focused his senses and reached out, there was a distinct absence of her energy signature.

Frustration and confusion welled up within him. "I don't understand. Why can't I locate the Bowel Hunter?" Reinhard questioned, his brows furrowed with uncertainty.

Eventually, Reinhard was tasked with overseeing Gohan as he completed a series of arranged trials. "I will ensure the success of these tasks," Reinhard resolved, "to prove that our reports are indeed true."

Gohan, perceiving Reinhard's determination, offered a piece of wisdom. "I see." Reinhard mused. "So there's a balance between distance and the intensity of the Ki signature," he wondered aloud, shedding light on the complexities of sensing Ki.

Reinhard couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of purpose. He knew that mastering this skill would not only aid their current mission but open up new possibilities in the future. It was a challenge he was eager to embrace, despite the initial confusion and setbacks.

[X] [X] [X]

Ferris Argyle:

His perceptions haven't changed much, however, Ferris is flattered when Gohan confuses him for a girl which may happen often.

[X] [X] [X]

Crusch Karsten:

Crusch perceives the conversation between Emilia and herself as a significant moment of bonding and understanding between them. She senses Emilia's genuine concern for Gohan's well-being and her willingness to extend hospitality to a stranger, which reflects Emilia's kind and compassionate nature. Crusch also picks up on Emilia's initial nervousness and hesitation about having a stranger stay at the Mathers Domain, but she observes how this apprehension gradually transforms into excitement and anticipation as Gohan agrees to the arrangement.

Furthermore, Crusch acknowledges that Emilia is starting to feel a sense of responsibility for Gohan, wanting to make sure he feels comfortable and at home. She understands that Emilia is hoping to establish a deeper connection with Gohan and is eager to get to know him better.

Overall, Crusch views the conversation as a positive development in her relationship with Emilia, as it shows Emilia's growth and her willingness to embrace new possibilities and relationships in her life.

[MY COMMENT]

I could write shorter chapters to upload faster, but then I wouldn't be able to go back and add more details, which is why I chose to make the chapter this long. It gives me enough reaction time to go back and see if something would have turned out better in the story. Also, I like reading long chapters and hate when they end so fast.

If you believe the character's thoughts and concerns aren't refined enough, it's pretty challenging for me to figure this out all by myself. I don't have beta readers so I'm pushing a mountain without anyone else's help.

I once misunderstood Reinhard, believing that he was like the made-up character of a 4-year-old who would win no matter what, but I eventually learned that even Reinhard has limits.
