Chapter 18
At Blow Town, Reisa is prepared for her second contest. I asked her, "Are you sure you are okay with this?"
"I won't let my loss cloud me, so I will be fine." Reisa smiles as she goes into the contest hall.
She is the first one to do the appeal round, she uses Wartortle first. Wartortle uses his Water Gun and Rapid Spin combo, which makes her win the first round with the other 7.
In the second round, she defeats all her opponents with Slowking, who uses Confusion and Water attacks to surprise the opponents and then ends it gorgeously.
"The winner of the Blow Town Contest is Reisa. Please give her applause!" The crowd cheers as Reisa gets her second badge.
Back outside, Reisa says, "Now we have three more to go."
I nod, "Yeah, but we will get them all and we will face each other in the finals of the grand festival."
Kris smiles a little then asks, "By the way, Reisa, you said that your father was also the top coordinator, who is he?"
"Oh, his name is Wallace, you all have known him." Reisa says.
"Of course, he is famous for his own Contest known as the Wallace Cup." Lillie says as we continue our journey.
We finally arrive at Route 37, and when training with Eevee, she starts to evolve because of the happiness that she is receiving. In the end, because it evolves in day time, it becomes an Espeon.
Espeon: The Sun Pokemon: Psychic Type. Evolved from Eevee with High Friendship during the day time. The tip of its forked tail quivers when it is predicting its opponent's next move.
Then we notice a Pokemon battle and it turns out the one battling is Gary. Of course, he wins the Alakazam with the Umbreon, which I assume is that his Eevee evolved.
"Well, if it isn't Ashy boy, Lillie, East, and Reisa." Gary says to us. I groan at the nickname.
"I see that your Eevee evolved, how about a battle?" I ask.
"No thanks. I already know about your Pikachu's attack patterns, so a battle is only a waste of my time and yours."
"Who said that I'm going to use Pikachu?" I ask.
Gary notices the Togetic and says, "Oh? Then you're using Togetic instead?"
Togetic immediately hides behind us, and Gary decides to ignore us and leave. We decided to have dinner at the nearby restaurant, but just then, in the Pokemon Center, we met another blackout.
"Not again..." I mutter. "The lights went out again?"
"What do you mean again?" Ethan asks.
"We met the same thing twice in the same Pokemon Center in Kanto. One was because of a Muk and the second was because of a Zapdos." I sigh. "I think we should go to the nearby Power Plant."
The others nod as we all rush towards the Power Plant, and once we arrive there, we find the workers there tied up. We are about to rush to them until the robot appears.
"Team Rocket! So you are the ones who raided the Power Plant..." Ethan says.
We try to attack the machine, but the attack is countered back at us. Now they try to move in front of us, and I say, "Eevee! Use Swift!"
Eevee tries to attack, but the attack doesn't work as it is countered back. But much to our delight, because of the electric cord, their robot can't move. And this gives us the chance to fight back.
At the same time, Gary appears and he helps attack the Robot. Gary says, "Ash! Now's our chance to get those three clowns!"
"Thanks, Gary!" I say as we free the workers. Then we face Team Rocket's robot, and they are trying to attack us, but just before they can attack us, Eevee starts to evolve into Umbreon.
Umbreon: The Moonlight Pokemon: Dark Type. Evolved from Eevee by leveling up with high friendship and night time. On the night of a full moon, or when it gets excited, the ring patterns on its body glow yellow.
"Umbreon!" I gasp in delight, and I say, "Now use your Dark Pulse attack!"
Umbreon uses the attack and hits the machine, and while I have Pikachu use Thunderbolt, only to get the power back. Then Umbreon goes for Payback and sends them flying.
"Nice work, Umbreon." I hug my new Pokemon.
Once we're done, we rush to where Gary's at. We reach the backup generator and combine our Pokémon's powers to get it running again. When they realize the backup generator isn't giving off enough power, Pikachu uses his Thunder Shock to get it up to peak capacity. After that, we bid farewell to Gary as we continue moving to Ecruteak City.
As we continue our journey, Ethan finds a Pokemon Egg near an Apple Tree, so he decides to hatch it himself, what is inside the Egg is a Pichu, so Ethan captures the Pokemon and names it Pibu.
Then we encounter Team Rocket Trio again, I use Houndour to battle Jessie's Arbok, he defeats it and fires a Flamethrower on the balloon. Causing them to blast off.
Then not long after, we see a Houndoom fall into a river. We also see a Gyarados trying to eat him, but Houndour uses Dark Pulse to scare them away. After knowing where Houndoom was, we took him to his owner, a Mareep farmer.
The owner is relieved to see Houndoom okay, but then Team Rocket interrupts this happy moment by catching Houndoom in a net. Lillie sends out Houndour again, and it evolves into Houndoom and breaks the net that has Houndoom, they both fire a Flamethrower and send them blast off.
Houndoom: The Dark Pokemon: Dark and Fire Type. Evolved from Houndour at LV:24. The pungent-smelling flame that shoots from its mouth results from toxins burning in its body.
"We're here, Ecruteak City..." Reisa says. "Just look at the towers over there...they really are something."
"I agree." Lillie says, "I can't wait to go there."
"But first, I think we should visit the Kimono Dance Theater." I say. But then, we notice an Eevee on the road. It turns out that Eevee belongs to a girl who is looking for it.
"I hope my friend here doesn't give you any trouble." The girl says.
"Not at all." I say.
"I see. Sometimes Eevee can get a little naughty. But I'm sorry, my name is Sakura." Sakura says.
After introducing ourselves, we asked her if we could find the Kimono Dance Theater, and she revealed that she was one of the Kimono Sisters and showed us the way. And just by getting there, Sakura also changes into her kimono outfit, which is actually looking great.
We also met the other four sisters, who are called Koume, Tamao, Satsuki, and Sumomo. Each of them has their own Eeveelution, but I also realize how they treat Sakura just like how Misty's sisters treated her before.
Just then, we hear screaming, and we rush towards the scene and find that Team Rocket has come to annoy people again. The Kimono Sisters all send out their Eeveelutions and battle them, although Eevee is struggling against Arbok, we also decide to join by using Espeon and Umbreon, then we manage to counter Weezing's attack. Then we send them flying in the end.
Then we decided to talk with Sakura, and Sakura says, "You know what, I always dreamed about competing in the Johto League. It must be exciting to see new places and meet new Pokemon."
"It can be tough sometimes, but traveling together is actually great." Reisa says. "You see a lot of interesting things, and we can see a lot of interesting Pokemon as well."
"Well, I always want to go on a Pokemon journey, traveling around and seeing the world. But I didn't know if I could do it by myself. Maybe if I went with you guys, then perhaps something interesting would happen?"
"That sounds like a good idea." I say. "I mean, traveling together is fun."
"Yeah, the more the merrier." Lillie adds.
"That's great. I have a dance show this afternoon and it will be great if I tell my sisters about it once it is over. I need to ask their permission to go with you." Sakura says.
"Of course. Just take your time. We haven't challenged the Ecruteak Gym yet." I say.
Then after the dance show, although there was trouble with a Team Rocket grunt trying to harass the girls, we also sent him retreating. Then Sakura begs her sisters to go on a journey with us.
"You know how much I love Pokemon, and you don't need me here. Please let me go with them."
"Why is it so important?" Satsuki asks.
"I want to compete in the Johto League and be a Pokemon Master." Sakura says.
"Why now? You haven't even mastered the Tea Ceremony yet. If you can't master umbrella how can you master Pokemon?" The sisters are showing concern.
Sakura asks us for help, and Reisa says, "Don't worry, we'll take good care of her."
"And you may not notice, I come from a huge family with 10 brothers and sisters, so it will be just fine for us to have her with us."
"Well, you did help us get rid of that terrible Team Rocket." The sisters say, and then they propose to allow her to go if we can defeat them in a Pokemon battle.
Ethan wants to try battling Sumomo with his Poliwhirl against her Vaporeon. The two Pokémon use Tackle and collide with each other. Vaporeon follows up with Sand Attack, but Poliwhirl evades and Double Slaps its opponent. Sumomo orders a Quick Attack, and Vaporeon swiftly knocks Poliwhirl into the nearby river. Poliwhirl and Vaporeon's Water Gun attacks prove to be an even match. Vaporeon strikes back with Aurora Beam, knocking out Poliwhirl for the win.
"I'm sorry, Ash..." Ethan frowns.
"Don't worry, it is common to lose a battle." I say. "Besides, we still have two more rounds."
Then before I can battle Satsuki and her Jolteon, Team Rocket returns once more, this time with a specific cage for each of the Kimono girls' Pokémon. Sakura's Eevee battles James's Victreebel, but again Eevee loses and is put in the cage.
Kris goes for Bayleef to battle Victreebel, while East sends out Mantine against Arbok. Mantine uses its Aqua Jet on Arbok, which hits James into one of the cages. Another Aqua Jet and Arbok are also locked up.
"Megaree! Use Vine Whip!" Then Bayleef uses Vine Whip towards Victreebel, tossing it towards Jessie and trapping both of them in one cage.
Meowth is the last free agent, but he is intimidated by Bayleef and Mantine, so he decides to lock himself in the last remaining cage.
"Umbreon! Use your Agility!" Tamao then sends out Umbreon to save Eevee.
"Eevee!" Sakura smiles.
"Mantine! Water Gun!" "Vaporeon! You use Water Gun too!" Then Team Rocket is sent flying once more.
Without any interferences, the match between Jolteon and Pikachu resumes. Jolteon uses Thunder Wave to protect itself from Pikachu's Electric attacks. Though a Tackle takes Jolteon by surprise, and Pikachu wins the round with a detonating Thunder attack.
But just when we're going for the third round, Sakura says, "Wait, I change my mind. I don't want to leave anymore!"
This causes us to look at her with shock. She says, "Because I'm not ready. It wouldn't have been for you, I would have lost Eevee to Team Rocket. And I still have a lot to learn about Pokemon."
"But you can learn a lot of them by traveling with us." Reisa says.
"I'm sure I can learn a lot from you and the other trainers we've met. But if I go with you I'm only going to get in your way. I want to go with my own journey so that Eevee and I can get stronger."
"Good decision." Satsuki says. She also tells her that her decision is a hallmark sign that she is already becoming stronger on her own. Sakura reaffirms her decision, and asks her sisters if they would help with her training. Satsuki happily agrees, followed by the other sisters.
Then we bid farewell to the Kimono girls and head onto the Burned Tower to see what we can find there.
Here is a new chapter, in the next chapter, we're going to the Ecruteak City Gym and also the Burned Tower. I hope you like it.
