Ruby woke up on a weird beach, she looked around for any signs of life but was unsuccessful. She got up and walked around to try and find anything, she soon found a familiar object planted into the ground. Neo's hush was sticking out with the handle sticking out on the top, this caused Ruby to realise that she was missing her own weapon. She desperately looked around for Crescent Rose but was unsuccessful. She soon took Neo's hush and walked off into the woods in hopes to find something useful.

Emerald woke up on top of a tree in a strange new world. She got down and began walking in hopes to find the others. The last thing she remembered was jumping in front of Yang to stop her from suffering the same fate as Blake and Weiss. Though she vaguely remembers Yang also getting stabbed last second.

?: Hello? Anyone? Help!

Emerald rushed towards the voice only to find a small girl who's hood was stuck on a big branch, causing her to dangle on the branch unable to get out.

Emerald: Need any help shorty?

Neo: Shut up!

Emerald: Ok then, see ya!

Neo: WAIT!

Emerald: Chill girl, I'm only messing, hold on.

Emerald climbed the tree and let Neo down, though it was more like Emerald unstuck Neo's hood and Neo fell onto the ground unable to stick the landing. The two began to walk around in hopes of finding stragglers. After about 10 minutes the two stumbled upon Crescent Rose and Emerald's weapons, Emerald picked up her weapons and turned around only to find Neo on her knees crying.

Emerald: Hey, hey, hey, look at me. We will find her, she must have ended up somewhere around here like the others, we just need to find them.

Neo: Where is here? (Neo is speaking while still crying)

Emerald: I… Don't know.

Neo: Great! Just fucking great! Our whole group split up, I lost my hush, we have no fucking clue what the fuck this place even is, the others might be dead and we have no idea how to leave if even possible! WE ARE JUST FUCKED! (Neo stopped crying)

Emerald: Calm dow-

Neo: DON'T YOU FUCKING TELL ME TO CALM THE FUCK DOWN. RUBY COULD BE DEAD AND I WOULDN'T KNOW IT UNTIL I ONE DAY FIND HER FUCKING BODY DECAYING IF SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPENS AROUND THIS FUCKING PLACE!

Emerald slapped Neo which somehow calmed her down.

Emerald: Shouting like a psychopath won't be helpful unless we shout their names. For now we can only keep moving.

Yang woke up in a valley full of spider creatures who had Blake and Weiss entangled into a weird type of web. Yang decided to proceed with caution as she knew nothing about these monsters. She grabbed her gauntlets and fired a shot in the distance to distract the creatures. Then he took a run for Weiss and Blake and managed to get them free along with their weapons. However the two were both unconscious, making her getaway harder than it should have been. Nethertheless, she managed to get away before it was too late.

Ruby: Hello? Anyone there? Please someone answer me!

?: What's this? A human?

Ruby: HOLY SHIT!

?: Calm down, I come in peace, I'm known as Curious cat, but you can just call me cat.

Ruby: I'm Ruby, I was killed by someone I recognised but can't seem to remember.

Cat: Ahhhh, yes. The Silent King. Used to live here with me he did. Found a way out and decided to leave me behind. Ever since then, he's been sending people here and I give them a second chance at life.

Ruby: Where am I?

Cat: Welcome Ruby, to the Ever-After!

Ruby: How do I get a second chance at life exactly?

Cat: Simple…

Ruby: Yes?

Cat: You see, I give people a second chance but… they instead choose to… go into the Ever-Void. A desolate wasteland where the just stay there for the rest of eternity. I wanted someone who wanted to return to Remnant so that I could go with them. Though, they all had the same thing in common, no life goals left on Remnant, no purpose. But you… Have EXactLy WHat I NEEd.

The cat was getting bigger in size until he was the same hight as Ruby.

Cat: I'M GOING TO ENJOY MY SWEET, SWEET REVENGE ON THE SILENT KING.

The cat's paw went through Ruby's mouth as she slowly but surely began to lose control of her body. Suddenly, I red spark hit the cat, causing him to back off just as Ruby regained control.

?: Come with me! Quickly!

Ruby did as she was told and followed the hooded figure away from the cat.

*10 minutes after the Ruby and Cat encounter*

Neo and Emerald were still walking through the forest in hopes to find someone else they knew. Instead they found a small weird looking cat on the ground in pain. Emerald walked closer and helped it up.

Cat: Thank you, the creatures around here are ruthless.

Emerald: No problem, say… have you seen any humans around here?

Cat: Well, I always encounter humans around here so… I'll need names.

Emerald: Yang Xiao Long?

Cat: Nope.

Neo: Blake Belladonna?

Cat: No.

Emerald: Jaune Arc?

Cat: yea… No, No.

Neo: Ruby Rose?

Cat: Ruby Rose? Black hair with a red tint? Big red cape?

Neo: You've seen her? Where!?

Cat: She was here about half an hour ago… I can lead you towards the direction she went.

Neo: Yes please!

Cat: Right this way… what are your names?

Emerald: Emerald.

Neo: Neo

Cat: I'm Curious cat, but you can just call me cat. Right this way ladies.

Ruby: Thanks for the save.

Ruby had followed the man into a strange hideout, the man had a familiar voice, though she couldn't put her finger on it.

Man: Well… Now we can get down to buisness.

Ruby: Pardon?

The man knocked Ruby to the floor with a familiar cane and pointed it at her.

Man: Why in the hell, do you have HER parasol?

Ruby looked at her side where she kept Neo's Hush, she took it and shot the blade out of the top to counter the cane as she stood up.

Ruby: Who are you and how do you know who's Umbrella this is?

Man: First, the umbrella is known as a Parasol. Second, who I am should be obvious to you. And finally third, that parasol doesn't belong to you… Red.

Ruby had been called 'Red' before by only one person, She looked at the hooded man and could visibly make out an emerald green eye.

Ruby: Torchwick?

Roman: That's right Red! Roman Torchwick is still here! Still part of the story even after all this time! Now I must say, you really did a number on Cinder.

Ruby: How do you know?

Roman: Two reasons, One; I have access to a screen that shows me whoever I want to see on it, I saw you absolutely demolish Cinder, good riddance. And two; I met Cinder a while back, I shoved her into the Ever-Void for revenge for not only killing me, but putting Neo into danger. Speaking of which, tell me Red, Why in the fucking place this is, do you have HER Parasol?

Ruby: Me and Neo… both died trying to save Atlas, along with some of our friends, I woke up on a beach and found it planted into the ground, I took it in hopes to find her and to defend myself from any danger until I find my own weapon.

Roman: I see… Who you've met earlier was the Curious Cat, all he wants is to go to Remnant, but to do that, he must first take control of a person with a motive, He tried to take me but I have no more motives so… He went elsewhere.

Ruby: What were you to Neo?

Roman sat down on his couch of sorts as Ruby did the same.

Roman: Well… other than her only friend and saviour, I guess a father figure to her. Her real father is long gone as well as her mother. Both died in a Grimm incident, I know what that's like.

Ruby: Sorry…

Roman: Nah kid, don't worry about it. After I saved her from the streets, I let her join me, we became partners in crime. I kinda became a Father she never had to her, and she became the daughter I never dreamed of having to me.

Ruby: So technically speaking, If someone were to propose to her, you would be the one to ask permission to correct?

Roman: If I was still alive, then yes, but… why do you ask?

Ruby: Well… it's a long story…

Roman: I have time, lay it on me.

Neo: How much further?

Cat: Not much left, say… why do you require Ruby over the others?

Neo: Well… she's my girlfriend, and I wanted to… propose to her quite rece-

Emerald: WHAT!?

Cat: No shouting please, I have sensitive ears.

Emerald: You were gonna propose? And you didn't tell me?

Neo: Why would I tell you?

Emerald: I watch a lot of romantic movies, I have knowledge on this kind of stuff!

Neo: I do as well, but i'm pretty sure I can handle it.

Emerald: Do as you want, but if she says no, don't come crying to me.

Cat: So you have a purpose to return to Remnant?

Neo: Yeah, why?

The cat wasted no time and immediately knocked Emerald to the ground and pinned Neo to a wall.

Cat: The rose was resistant and was helped by an outside force when I tried to take her over, so I can use you to get revenge on not only her, but the Silent King as well. NOW ALL I NEED TO DO IS TAKE YOU OVER.

The cat's body began to enter Neo through her mouth, Neo was losing control just like Ruby, though this time there wouldn't be any interruptions.

Neo: …Emerald…

Emerald: Neo, don't worry, I got yo-

Neo: It's too la…te for me… go to Ruby… warn her… before it's…

Neo had lost her ability to speak, Emerald did as she was told and ran to find Ruby, she would have to hurry up before the Cat would follow her.

Yang had hid inside a big tree with an opening with Blake who had woken up and Weiss who had yet to regain consciousness. She had no idea where she would find the others and she couldn't help but wonder if they were even still alive. Weiss eventually woke up.

Weiss: What happened? How long was I out.

Yang: No clue, I found you and Blake captured in webs by weird spider creatures.

Weiss: Grimm?

Yang: No, this place is not Remnant, I assume it may be the Ever-After.

Blake: We have yet to find the others, we can only assume if they were stabbed by the same blade, they ended up in this place as well.

?: HELLO?! RUBY?! WHERE ARE YOU?!

Yang: That sounded like…

Weiss, Blake and Yang left their hiding spot to encounter Emerald who was running in fear from something.

Blake: Emerald, what's going on?

Emerald: It's Neo… she-

Yang: The bitch finally backstabbed us didn't she?

Emerald: What? No, didn't you trust her?

Yang: I'd say about 91%

Weiss: which is besides the point, what happened with Neo?

Emerald: She's been possessed by a weird inter-dimensional cat of sorts, it's looking for two people, the Silent King, whoever that is, and Ruby.

Blake: What does it want with Ruby?

Emerald: Apparently, Ruby fought it before me and Neo found it. It told us it would lead us to Ruby, all it wants is a body to Remnant.

Yang: what do we do then?

Emerald: Find Ruby before IT does. Oh and Jaune as well… haven't seen him yet, but more importantly, Ruby.

Roman: Let me get this straight, you encountered Neo inside a safe house in a forest where you spent a couple of night with her on your journey. Then, during your nights, you fell in love and became a thing. You then went to Haven academy to stop a Grimm attack and killed Cinder. Then you buried my body and went to Atlas to create a jail for the Grimm queen, Salem but someone killed you and most of your team?

Ruby: That sums it up yep.

Roman: When were you planning to propose?

Ruby: After we made the jail, put the staff back in its place and free Chris. though now, I don't know what happened to him.

Roman: Well… I would like to see her if possible, before you can ask me for my blessing.

Ruby: If you help me find her, of course.

Roman: Then it's settled!

Neo: Ruby!

Ruby and Roman turned around to see a normal looking Neo at the door of Roman's hideout.

Ruby: Neo!

Roman: So… it really is you.

Neo looked at Roman in confusion, as if she had never seen him before.

Neo: Sorry, who are you again?

Roman: C'mon Neo, it's me!

Neo: Who?

Roman: Roman Torchwick, your ex partner in crime, we attacked Beacon together?

Neo: Oh Roman, I barely recognised you, it's been so long!

Roman thought this was suspicious, He was Neo's first and only ever friend before he died. Ruby didn't pay much attention as she walked closer to Neo. Roman, picked up his cane and pointed it at Neo with his finger on the trigger.

Neo: Roman?

Ruby: Roman what are you..?

Roman: How did I die Neo?

Neo: I beg your pardon?

Roman: If you remember me, surely you know how I died.

Ruby: Roman, put it down.

Neo: Oh of course I know.

Roman: Tell me then.

Neo: Uhhhhh… well, we attacked Beacon… so you died in combat!

Roman smiled and shot his cane. Neo's hand grew and turned light blue as it stretched itself to block the shot. Neo's eyes were no longer pink and brown, but light blue with white lines in them.

Ruby: Neo?

Roman: Red, I'm afraid this isn't Neo, or at least, not completely.

Ruby: What?

Roman: The cat has an ability that allows him to control people's bodies. The cat chose Neo I'm afraid.

Cat: Smart Alec.

Ruby: Let her go.

Cat: You want her? come and get her!

Hello again everyone, i have returned from my 3 day trip! i had a lot of fun there with my year. it was a school trip of about 96 or so students. i got some time to reflect while i was away and was shocked to see the amount of views this fan fiction got when i returned. I will do my best to keep uploading things you guys can enjoy. some other things i want to talk about.

1. i wasn't originally going to include the ever after in this story, but i really wanted to make a scene in the future where Ruby and Neo got married. I wanted roman to return as well since he's my second favourite character from RWBY. (first being Neo) the only way i could add him again was via the ever after.

2. i noticed none of you wrote reviews about who the mystery man is from last chapter, i'm keeping that a secret for a little while longer. i will reveal him either next chapter or the one after. You still have time to write reviews, but if you want to keep it to yourself, that is also fine. and lastly

3. i will put this fanfic on hold for a while as i want to write more chapters for my other fan fiction, RWBY and the Tomb World. Feel free to check it out, It's another Ruby X Neo if you like that and Necrons from Warhammer 40000k are there as well. Continue to show me support by favouriting me or my stories and feel free to write a review on what to improve on my fanfics or what fanfics i should make next, just saying i won't begin a new fanfic until i finished either this or Tomb World so the idea will be put on hold.
