Kabuto could use the Mystic Palm by like eight, either he is a pure genius, it isn't a hard jutsu or both on some level. I am using Kabuto as my inspiration.
I went too fast early on, but I sort of like it. It feels like Mika was disassociating. Also I had no idea how to go about the story, I do now.
Mika made a point, many actually, in not bonding with Kin. He spoke with her, learning a lot about her, but he gave nothing in return, however in learning so much he could not help but bond anyway. He learned that her Dog was killed by a disease she also contracted, but no one knew she survived. She was taken and replaced by a fake body, her father and mother selling her because they just didn't care. He learned of her hatred for the village, for allowing her to be sold and allowing her partner to die.
It was devastating to hear of the callousness of the village, and really it only condemned the village in his heart.
Soon, after a month of sparring with her, and learning to use his ROOT tanto properly, they were on almost even footing. She won a bit more of their fights, control was easier ot learn in a short time than power was, but he was the smarter of the two and the better strategist. She was also too used to fighting with a Ninken at her side and it showed. She would often times look for another to be at her back, and that was her downfall in many spars.
By the Second month of advanced training and medical training, he could use the mystic Palm freely, but only for minor wounds, mostly the countless scratches and bruises that covered him daily. He was getting good, and finally learned the substitution, which he used so freely it drove Kin crazy in combat. She almost screeched when he almost made her attack Shin once, only to get donkey kicked into oblivion.
By six months of advanced training, at his nine month mark, things got... bad.
Danzo appeared one day, while he was resting, reading a book on advanced poisons, the next phase in his training now that he could ( at 6 months of training) could use the mystic palm to heal most basic wounds and could dissect with the best of them. Kin was practicing her katas, and meditating as she did so. She had really failed to calm down a lot, but she was trying...
He knew it would never be enough.
"It is time." Danzo started. "Kin, Mika, come with me." They moved away, following him. They followed him for over thirty minutes, to a distant patch of forest, the first he had seen in almost a year. It was only here that Danzo started. "Only one of you can become ROOT, you are surrounded by ROOT at all sides. Kill or be killed. Do not disappoint me."
He vanished them and Kin turned fast, eyes wide. "Why would he, AH!" She screamed, as a kunai buried into her heart. "Why?" She asked, blood oozing from her lips.
"I have to survive this, and you would never survive here... you have too much heart. I am sorry... rest easy in the pure land." He yanked the kunai out and slit her throat, and before he knew it she was dead.
He did not cry, he could not let himself, but he did mourn her. He mourned her potential, her lost light and the possibility of friendship denied to them both...
Danzo appeared, moments later. "That was fast... how do you feel?"
"I feel nothing, sir."
"Good... now come, it is time to start assigning you mission training. We cannot have you failing your missions, now can we?"
He had no idea of the deaths planned for him in Mika's heart at that very moment, for if he did he would kill Mika in that very minutes instead of dedicating resources to bolstering his powers even more...
