Author's Note: This chapter is much longer with a lot more action. Personally this was my favourite to write and upload, I love a good old bit of angst and this chapter is full of it. Anyway on with the story, hope you enjoy!

After Kyros had been freed, Kassandra and Kyros both made their way back to Hermes and Persephone's palace .

Hermes wasn't too happy to see them both. He scowled angrily, crossing his arms . "Where have you been, you kept Persephone waiting".

Kassandra was shocked, she almost stumbled back at Hermes' tone but managed to compose herself as Kyros did the same.

He really liked Persephone so much that he was worried that they would make him look bad.

Kyros stepped up defending himself and Kassandra in the process. "Relax, Hermes it was my fault I stopped along the way to clean myself up as you know Persephone doesn't like filth . I wanted to make myself presentable to the queen. My apologies. I'll make sure to take full blame so she doesn't blame you" he bowed.

Hermes' expression shifted and he nodded. "You explain that to Persephone, right now she's still waiting".

Kyros nodded and sprung into action quickly going up the stairs and entering the palace towards Persephone.

Kassandra stepped towards Hermes, confirming. "Persephone is safe now, I made sure of that" she said looking towards Hermes, carefully eyeing him for his reaction.

He seemed grateful giving her gratitude before getting anxious again this time at something else.

"I'm grateful for that and your help, my friend, however Persephone is not. The gift I was meant to give her a flame recipe has gone missing. Those rebels took it again". He was pacing back and forth with nervous hands on his hair.

Ugh. Another mission helping Hermes with his lovesick chase of Persephone. It was quite ironic itself . As the messenger god himself, why was he not running around chasing the bandits and the rebels for his recipes and better yet why was he not sending love poems himself to Persephone?

Why was she doing all of his dirty work , just because she was Pythagoras' daughter didn't mean that he could just take advantage of her and make her his servant just like that.

She had to choose her words carefully. After all she couldn't offend Hermes as she needed his help to get out of Elysium as he was a vital ally, at the same time these tasks were getting boring and stupid. She didn't come to Elysium to help Hermes play matchmaker. She came here to sort out the staff then leave.

This was already taking longer than necessary. Without wanting to offend Hermes and wanting to imply subtly that she was getting fed up of chasing Persephone's and Hermes' mess, mostly Hermes, she responded.

"Can't you just remake the recipe and give it to Persephone?" she suggested trying not to sound annoyed.

Hermes looked back at her in disbelief. Oh no Kassandra thought, she had offended Hermes. Oh great that's an ally out the window. She cringed mentally.

"This recipe took me a lifetime to make. I can't just make another one. Persephone needs it now. This cannot wait. I need you to steal it back now" he yelled in a panicked manner.

"Alright Alright, I'll steal it back" she frowned, unable to hide her annoyance this time.

She just wanted Hermes to shut up about Persephone, that's all he would ever talk about. Nothing else. He was literally obsessed with her.

Hermes stopped and smiled at her . "You really are my friend and ally helping me with this Persephone stuff".

This infuriated her. "Not so fast, I'm not your friend. I'm just here to get out of Elysium and if that means doing your silly tasks so be it. And next time keep the recipe a secret so people won't steal it". She snapped at him.

She had enough of Hermes using her and calling her friend only because she was helping him with his stupid malaka tasks that he couldn't be brave enough or bothered to do himself.

Hermes was silent. His smile disappeared from his face . The atmosphere was tense.

"You know your Father helped me with this recipe. We made this together. Even he agrees and approves of this gift to Persephone. I'm sure that's the least you could do for your family right? Even if not for Persephone". He wagered in a flat tone all friendliness and smiles gone from his face.

Kassandra was furious how dare he manipulate her by using her dead father in this. And did Pythagoras really agree to such a stupid thing? Malaka.

"Why would you go to such lengths for Persephone? She wouldn't do the same for you. Can't you see she's using you?" she sputtered letting all her hurt and anger out.

She didn't care about the consequences now, enough was enough it was time to stand up for herself.

He turned his back on her equally as furious too. "Because she's suffering. When she suffers I suffer too, we all do, all the gods of Elysium. And I don't believe she is using me, if anything she needs me by her side more than ever". He turned round angrily shouting at Kassandra.

Kassandra gave up. It was pointless arguing with Hermes; he was so beyond it he couldn't even see sense anymore. She was just wasting her breath and her time.

"Fine. I will find the rebels , steal back your recipe and end the suffering for you". She snapped again before turning around before her emotions could take over her again.

She took out her frustration on the rebels in the camp with her spear and it felt good. To let her anger out with her blade. When she was done she stormed back to Hermes who was standing in a different spot waiting for her. She threw the paper with the recipe on the floor.

"Here's your recipe, now you can stop suffering and wallowing over Persephone".

Hermes looked at her in shock. He had calmed down during that time , and couldn't quite understand why Kassandra was still so furious.

"What is the matter with you?" he questioned, getting angry himself too.

"The matter is , I'm watching you going crazy over Persephone. You think because of her you can order me about and do what you want. She doesn't even love you, can't you see that and she never will." she snapped angrily pointing a finger at Hermes.

"Enough!" he yelled, coming up close to her. She didn't falter or back down.

"No matter what you do, how much killing you do for her... She will never love you back. Deep down you know I'm right" she said gazing onto his eyes as he grabbed her shirt and held her by the collar and neck.

With a roar, Hermes lost it and threw Kassandra to the floor.

"I didn't want to do this but you leave me no choice" she got up and panted and wiped the blood off her mouth.

He really had lost it now with his obsession with her. He was hurting everyone who didn't agree with Persephone. Her, Adonis and the humans too.

She took her sword out and spear as Hermes got his shield and sword too and they started fighting each other.

Kassandra had the upper hand. She threw Hermes' shield away from him and pinned him down to the floor. She was about to knock him out after a punching rampage when Hekate, one of the other gods and Persephone's friend, stepped in, running in front of Kassandra.

"Stop ! The pair of you Before you do something you both regret".

Kassandra looked up. "Stay out of this Hekate!" she yelled breathlessly.

"No I will not!" Hekate yelled back

"Not until you both stop killing each other. Stand down now. I need you both. Persephone's fight isn't over. With both of you dead, who is going to fulfil that role?" she asked, looking at them both.

Kassandra reluctantly removed her grip and spear from Hermes' neck and uttered. "This isn't over yet, push me again and I'll kill you, understand. Hekate saved you this time. You should be thanking her" she spat at his face.

Hermes got up bruised and battered and scowled at her before walking away along with Hekate.

So things are not looking good for both Kass and Hermes, both of them have got on each other's wrong side. What will Kass do now? Find out in the next chapter.
