"So how about it, Violetta?"

His lips curved in a charismatic smirk with his eyebrows raised and eyes narrowed. He was trying to be seductive and alluring "Ball tonight? With me?"

Uncomfortable, the maid merely forced a nervous smile and took a step back "That sounds wonderful, Cedric. But I'm afraid I can't come tonight due to my…" she looked away, trying to come up with excuses

"Duties." with her eyes closed, she bit her lip. Hoping it would work

"Aww man" Cedric mumbled under his breath and frowned

"I'm sorry, Cedric. Maybe some other time" Violet waved him goodbye and went to the other direction

The Sorcerer only sighed and watched her leave. But there was still time left. It was still early in the morning and surely, there's at least a girl in Enchancia who doesn't have a date yet.

"Now you leave that poor girl alone now, Cedric"

Cedric turned around and saw no other than the king himself, chuckling while making his way to him. Throughout the years, their seem to be on good terms now and they even became like they were back then

But he didn't see Cedric as a friend. He was more of a little brother to the King Roland to be exact. And this reason is what's keeping Cedric being truly "cool" around Roland

"You're laughing at my misfortune, King Roland?" Cedric asked, offended by his reaction

The king was surprised hearing this "Don't tell me… you were asking her out for tonight?"

"Yeah, I was…" Cedric looked away

"Well, ain't that unfortunate?" he playfully smacked the back of the shorter man's back. Roland couldn't help but chuckle again, completely disregarding Cedric's dilemma on the matter

"You're just asking out any girl at this point huh?" Roland asked him "You're that desperate?"

"Yeah, I got no choice. It's either that or early bedtime tonight"

A series of merriment has yet again found its way to the king. Upon finally calming down from the laughter, he rested his hand on the Sorcerer's shoulder and gave him a serious look

"If it's a girl you're looking for, why don't you ask her?" he suggested with his eyebrows waggling, clearly insinuating a certain someone

"Her?" Cedric asked

The king raised his eyebrow in suspicion "You know well who I'm talking about Cedric" he whispered to him "The only girl in the kingdom who can actually stand you?"

"You mean…" when the idea finally occurred to him, he took a step back "Her!?"

The King nodded

"What made you even think of that scenario!?" Cedric exclaimed in disbelief "You do know what the ball is intended for right?"

"Of course I know." King Roland responded "And she's already seventeen. Her choices are all hers."

"Besides, I know you won't be getting any other girls anyways" he added while smirking at him "It's either her or no one at all. Beggars can't be choosers now, Cedric."

Forcing a smile, the Sorcerer couldn't believe how silly this conversation is getting. He just wanted to leave to continue finding a date, but he didn't wanna seem rude to the King himself

"Just talk to her. That's all I'm saying." Roland suggested "And if she refuses… then its early bedtime for you"

"Well, I'll consider it, King Roland. Gotta run" Cedric did a nod of respect before walking the other way

"Don't consider" The King yelled out to him, making him more uncomfortable "JUST DO IT!"

"That idea is too farfetched to begin with. What makes him think she'd agree?" He hastened his steps, just wanting to reach the garden and out of the castle. He'd prove him wrong for sure by landing a hot babe for tonight.
