(Observatory)

"Hmm, that's odd." L says as he examines a corpse in a puddle of blood. "The crime clearly happened in this room but there's no sign of forced entry. I better check for some fingerprints."

"Care for some help?" He barely flinched before looking behind him.

"How did to you-" Then he recognized something. "Wait a minute, you're the one they call Son Goku, aren't you?"

"That I am. Nice to meet you." The gi wearer says with a wave.

"Good to know, but unfortunately I'm in the middle of a case right now."

"Oh, wow. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you."

"No, no, it's fine. If you wish to observe, perhaps you could learn a thing or two as well."

"That's sounds cool." Goku says with a smile.

"Okay, what you're looking at here is a murder scene. A dead woman, mid 40s, bludgeoned to death. No clear sign of entry, no clear sign of exit. The first thing we should be looking for is fingerprints. Luckily, I've got a tool just to do the-"

"They entered through the skylight, and exited through the window down the fire escape, then drove 30 miles down out to the harbor."

L didn't say anything, slowly turning his head in the saiyan's direction. "What?"

"Oh, I should've mentioned that I have super sight. Ya know, x-ray vision, microscopic vision, I-I can see Jupiter from here." Goku explains. "I mean, as soon as I came in here, I could see the fingerprints leading out the window and I just kinda followed from there."

"You can't just-" L says before clearing his throat. "I mean, but how certain are we that they're even our perpetrators? Maybe they're someone's fingerprints. You ever think of that?"

"No, I'm pretty certain it's theirs. I mean, they're still talking about it now."

"Wait you can hear-" L paused again. "Let me guess you have -"

"Super hearing." Goku finished.

"Yep, of course, you do because it goes with-"

"It goes with the super sight."

"Yeah, perfect, yep. Knew it, I knew it. Alright great, you located them, you did what would've taken me hours in like 15 seconds. Now you'll excuse me-" L pulled out a phone. "I'm gonna call my police force, get them over there and-"

He didn't finish as Goku disappeared and reappeared.

"You already did it. Y-you did it as I was talking, didn't you?" L says, getting annoyed. "Y-you did it in the middle of me talking. What, did you already throw them in prison?"

"Well, they're not in prison yet, there's a whole system, but ya know… eventually." Goku says smiling.

"What was the point in all of this? I mean, were you just trying to fuck with me? Were you just trying to prove you were a better detective or something?"

"What? No, of course not!" Goku says while waving his hands defensively. "I just… have a bit of a bit of an advantage. A superhuman advantage."

"You really shouldn't underestimate me, Goku." L says in a dark tone. "There are a lot of things about you that I know. A lot of things that you try to keep secret. You wouldn't want these things spilling out, right-"

"L Lawliet!" Goku called out.

"SON OF A-!" L then shouted before making frustrated noises.

"Yeah, I forgot to mention, I can kinda read minds to an extent." Goku laughed. "Look, L, I'm sure there's a lot of things you can do like, I don't know-"

As Goku started to go off, L took his phone back out and made a call. "Near… it's me. Number 3. Do it." He says into it. "Yes, yep. Alright, bye." He then hung up.

"Pretty efficient I should wear an… E. What was that about?" Goku asked out of curiosity.

"Black, two sugars."

"W-what are you saying?"

"That's how I like my coffee."

"O-okay." Goku laughed nervously.

"Ever hear of Orange Star High?"

"U-uh what?"

"Because I just bought it." L tells him with a straight face. "If you want your son to keep your job I expect a cup of that on my desk every morning from this day forward. Got it?" He asked as Goku's face slumped. "Yeah, know your fucking place, Mount Paozu."
