Chapter 3: Battle with The Steward

(Back in the hotel lobby)

Luigi opened the door and Tails, Banana Dee, Diddy Kong, Rottytops, and Professor E. Gadd rushed out. However, everyone thought the way Professor E. Gadd was running seemed hilarious. After Luigi followed them into the lobby, Professor E. Gadd pointed to the elevator.

Professor E. Gadd- The elevator should get us there in an instant.

Diddy Kong- You sure? Because when we tried the elevator after we got out of the laundry room, all the numbered floor buttons were removed.

Tails- Hang on…I seem to remember that the B1 button was the only button on the elevator still there.

Professor E. Gadd- And that's all we need right now since the garage is on the B1 floor. Now let's hurry before the ghosts find us!

(On the B1 floor)

Luigi and the others arrived on the B1 floor and got off the elevator.

Bandana Dee- At least we could still do that instead of having to climb those stairs again! My feet are aching from the first time we climbed them!

Rottytops- Say professor, did you see Shantae or the others while you were trapped in that painting?

Professor E. Gadd- Sorry, but no. In fact, I would say I was captured at least a day before any of you arrived to this hotel. But since your friends weren't on the second floor with me, I would assume they're being kept on the higher floors of this hotel.

Diddy Kong- God damn it! I know where this is going!

Tails- Me too. If we want to find Sonic, Mario, and the others…we'll have to find those elevator buttons.

Professor E. Gadd- But first, we need to get you all properly equipped and I have just what you all need in the garage.

Luigi tried to move down the hall, but then a painting hanging on the wall falls down and shatters to pieces, which startles Luigi. Luigi jumps and almost slipped out of his overalls when he heard that. Rottytops and Professor E. Gadd laughed a little at that before they continued to make their way to the hotel garage.

(In the hotel garage)

Luigi and the others arrived in the garage, but only for them to realize they were not alone. Inside the garage was the steward from the front desk earlier, only he wasn't wearing his mask this time. He was still moving luggage around on to the carts for some reason. But it wasn't long before he noticed them.

Steward- You guys?!

Luigi- Oh no! We've been spotted!

Professor E. Gadd- Uh…I'm just gonna run over here and let you guys take care of things!

Then Professor E. Gadd ran off to the back end of the room.

Diddy Kong- Hey! You can't just dump all the work on us like that!

Steward- Oh shit! Gotta do something about them or Hellen will fire me!

Then the steward saw the luggage got an idea. He quickly grabbed the baggage on the cart and tossed it at Luigi and the others. Luckily, they managed to dodge.

Steward- Ok…(grunts)…let's see if you can dodge another…

The steward attempted to lift another suitcase, but it popped like a balloon when Diddy Kong shot one of his peanut pistols at it.

Diddy Kong- Our regular attacks might not affect ghosts directly, but it looks like they can still work against them in a different way.

Steward- Hey! That's not fair!

Then Luigi got the steward in the Poltergust's suction while he was distracted and began sucking him in. The Steward attempted to escape, but Luigi then flung the Steward over his shoulder and slammed him into some nearby luggage. As the steward got back up, he tried to grab another bag to throw at Luigi, only for Bandana Dee to impale that suitcase with his spear. However, Bandana Dee was met with a very unpleasant smell once he did.

Bandana Dee- Oh dear lord! What is that rotten smell?!

Then Bandana Dee saw there was a ladies bra hanging on the tip of his spear.

Bandana Dee- Uh…

Rottytops- Oh! That's mine, Bandana Dee!

Then Rottytops quickly grabbed her bra off of Bandana Dee's spear.

Bandana Dee- That was your suitcase, Rottytops? Why did it stink like you had twenty rotten eggs in there?!

Rottytops- I'm a zombie girl! I'm basically a walking corpse. Hence my name, Rottytops.

Then Luigi managed to get the steward caught in the Poltergust's vacuum again while he was distracted. This time, the steward was pulled right into the Poltergust. His hat didn't get sucked in though, but his hand reached out of the Poltergust to quickly grab his hat. But just as the Poltergust 5000 caught the steward, it spat out two shiny elevator buttons. Tails walked up to them and picked them up.

Tails- I think these are for the elevator in this hotel. I only see floor 1 and 5.

Luigi- It's a start, but I think Mario and the others would likely be kept on the 15th floor at the top.

Then Professor E. Gadd returned from wherever he was hiding.

Professor E. Gadd- We can worry about that later. Right now, there is something I want to show you guys.

Then Professor E. Gadd opens the trunk of his car and pulls out some kind of object that looked like a satellite dish.

Luigi- What is that?

Professor E. Gadd- No! Don't touch, Luigi! I have to set this thing up first!

Then Professor E. Gadd walked over to an area where he believed he would be able to have enough room and then set the device down. Suddenly, it began to light up and expand into what appeared to be a laboratory/bunker.

Luigi- Huh…what just happened?

Professor E. Gadd- Behold! My portable lab!

Luigi just stood there in disbelief while Diddy Kong, Bandana Dee, Tails, Rottytops, and the Polterpup followed Professor E. Gadd to the portable lab.

Professor E. Gadd- But I think the first order of business should be to get you all fitted with a Poltergust 5000 like the one Luigi has if you're going to battle the ghosts of this hotel.
