Name: Monachopsis or something else

Media: Band of Brothers

Synopsis: Josephine Roberts is one of the few black nurses that are allowed to work alongside their white counterparts. She is chosen by the Airborne for an experiment that allows women to be in combat, in order to help and treat soldiers quicker. And she is chosen to join Easy Company.

Notes:

Racism is prevalent during this time (Up to whoever adopts the story on how to handle it)

Up to whoever adopts on whether Josephine falls for someone from Easy or not.

I had Josephine from New Orleans, she knows French, and says 'cher' or 'chère' sometimes. She's 20, and she is someone who is calm under pressure, so when she's treating soldiers she talks in a calm manner, and comforts them. Knows how to stand her ground, but also knows when to back down. She can be teasing at times, but also has a past, due to the racism she and her family had dealt with growing up.

Besides giving me credit, I ask that you handle this story with respect, honor and enough seriousness to honor Band of Brothers and everyone who has served.

Josephine could feel the stares; she could also hear the not so subtle names and slurs that were being said behind her back. She was used to it by now, but it still stung, but all she did was clench her fists.

At least the Nurses she had been training with before she was picked had the decency to say them to her face. It amused her to no end how they looked angry when they couldn't get a rise out of her. Even though she was always tempted to sock them in the face. It still surprised her that Nurse Louis, who was the Head Nurse and their instructor, had treated her kindly, with respect, and laid down the law on the other nurses if they tried anything. But still was hard and firm on how they performed their duties.

She remembered when she first met with the heads of the Airborne: Major General William Lee and Colonel Robert Sink had told her that she couldn't let the insults, bigotry, and whatever else would come her way get to her. That she would have to prove to everyone that this Military experiment will work, and she had to be treated like everyone else.

"Hey Roberts, are you okay?" Asked Second Lieutenant Richard Winters.

"I'm fine sir. It's something that I'm used to." She said.

Winters exchanged a look with fellow Officer and friend, Second Lieutenant Lewis Nixon who merely shrugged.

They reached their destination of the Barracks, and she could hear men talking inside. She took a slightly shaky breath, and walked to the entrance.

"Attention!" Winters yelled.

Everyone inside stood up, and stood at attention.

"At ease."

Everyone then relaxed, and turned towards the two officers and nurse. Once they noticed her, Alexandra saw a mixture of surprise or confused faces.

"This is Nurse Josephine Roberts; she will be joining our unit as a Combat Nurse. I want all of you to treat her with respect and like anyone else. If you see her getting harassed, report it to Nixon, me, Sobel, or Sink. If you harass her, disciplinary measures will be enforced. Luz, Liebgott, she's your responsibility from here on out. You help her, show her around, and protect her when needed." Winters explained.

"Yes sir." They all said.

"Roberts, you're bunking next to Leibgott. Once you get everything in order, you everyone else, will get dressed in full gear. Sobel's orders."
