Being on Olympus had always made Percy nervous. Being summoned there alone didn't help. Was there another threat that was big enough the gods would actually ask for help? It had only been a few years since the end of the Second Giant War. If that was the case, he would make sure to propose to Annabeth before any of the real fighting and quests start. Not that he hadn't already been planning on proposing soon.

Shortly after he turned down godhood a second time in favor of spending his mortal life with the girl he loved, Aphrodite blessed them to always know the location of the other so they couldn't be separated again. The only reason they held off getting married this long is because getting married would put them in Hera's domain. Annabeth avoided that similarly to how Percy avoided flying, but he had decided they were done living in fear of the gods.

Today was the winter solstice, a fact that had slipped Percy's mind until he saw 15 gods including Hades, Persephone, and Hestia all sitting in their giant thrones. Percy bowed deeply to his father who gave Percy an almost sympathetic look but schooled his expression back to neutral before commanding Percy to stand and face the council. As Percy did so Zues' voice rolled like thunder across the room. "Ever since Pan's fading there has been an imbalance. An imbalance we have decided your ascension to godhood would fix."

Now Percy was angry. He had turned down godhood twice. Godhood was offered to him as a reward for fixing the gods' problems. As he looked around at the faces 15 feet up he saw that there were some who might not immediately smite him down for what he was about to say. "I have been the subject of two great prophecies and have turned down godhood twice. Both times I turned it down for the woman I love. Who is still alive and still loves me. Find someone else to be your immortal fix-it man. I'm done saving your collective hide."

The gods were silent as he stormed out. Aphrodite was the first to speak up, "He's planning on proposing you know, He was going to wait a little bit but we've pushed him over the edge today." After a brief pause, Zeus looked up surprised. "He jumped. He's aiming for the water but he willing put himself in my domain instead of taking the elevator".

"He's challenging us," Hera stated simply. "Jumping into a few seconds of free fall, entering my domain with a girl he knows I dislike." Then a mischievous grin crossed her face as she added, "I might deny them. Have that girl go temporarily insane and tell him to buzz off. He might change his mind then." Athena looked like she was going to say something in defense of her daughter before Hera shot her an angry look. "I do hope you're not planning on speaking out against your queen. I thought you were smarter than that. You as well Aphrodite."

Aphrodite sadly and quietly spoke. "I'm not speaking out against you, M'lady, I'm merely pointing out that I doubt it will change his mind but it might near kill him"

"We could let it," Dionysus stated simply. "I make him thirsty having his heartbreak hide the godly touch. Let him find our bar near the camp and consume too much nectar. The only way to save him would be to make him a god." He was looking at Poseidon waiting for the sea god to speak up.

When the old god finally did say something, he sounded tired. "I suppose it's either that or sit out while the rest of you argue about how to kill him. He's gotten too powerful to let freely rome. Although he is my son that means he is fiercely loyal. As long as we don't do anything to make him feel betrayed by us we have nothing to fear."

Dionysius spoke up next, "Do we really want to trust a demigod this powerful, and growing more so by the day mind you, to not feel betrayed at some point? What if, for example, that Anniebell girl turns him down for perfectly fair reasons and he goes on a war path against Aphrodite or Hera?"

"I for one would like a leash shorter than the shaky loyal of the human spawn. " Hera mused, clearly board.

Before Poseidon could say anything, Zeus interrupted him "So it is settled." When Zeus spoke the sky around them seemed to shake. "We know our roles to play. "

The council knew that when Zeus spoke like that it meant there was no argument with the course of action proposed. Several did look uncomfortable with the plan including Poseidon, Aphrodite, and Hestia.

As the gods were leaving after the meeting Zeus approached Hephaestus. "Even with the Accent Laws limiting him I still don't trust Percuss to not act out. Make sure he's like your automatons and I'd rather the others not know of it"

Hephaestus hesitated a second long enough for Zues to glare at him. "Yes Lord Zeus"

I am new to writing and (if there is anyone actually reading this) would love your feedback.

I plan on this story going for a few chapters but am a busy collage student with more pressing matters so I'm not going to commit to any sort of update schedule.
