Disclaimer: There is no way on earth I could ever own the Star Wars universe, because if I did, I would be rich, and I am completely broke.

I'm not sure if I can count TK-290 as my own character, either, but I just heavily elaborated on his story.

Also, this is just a one-shot, and is sticking to the movie. Enjoy!

As far back as TK-290 could remember, he'd been supporting the Empire. He could see when the Jedi were failing, when the Empire promised a stronger rule. And in his opinion, they'd been delivering.

When TK-290 was young, he knew exactly what he wanted to do. Become a stormtrooper, and fight for the values he believed in. His family disagreed, of course, as families do, so he ran away from his parents, his sister, his home on Saleucami. Joining the Imperial Academy, TK-290 quickly became a popular cadet, smart and willing to do anything for the Empire. He graduated near the top of the class, and became a trooper, as he'd always wished. He left his life behind, his name, and became TK-290.

The trooper moved around a lot, was ordered to different planets and moons. He loved it. He was living his dream life. So what if his life was in danger? So what if his family never knew what happened to him? Screw them, he thought occasionally. They never knew what was best for me. After the first Death Star was destroyed, he never contacted his family to let them know he was alive. As far as TK-290 was concerned, his family didn't exist.

As the second Death Star was being constructed, TK-290 was transferred to the forest moon of Endor, where he and another scout, TK-151, stood guard at a checkpoint. He could admit that at some times, the work was dull, but it was better than being back at home.

"You got family?" TK-151 asked one day.
"Not anymore," he replied.

"Oh," the other scout nodded. "Sorry."

"Nah, don't be," TK-290 shook his head. "They don't exist to me."

"I get it," the trooper said. "It was the same with me." The two scouts fall silent.

TK-290 was now quietly irritated with his partner, even though it wasn't the man's fault. He didn't know. Regardless, TK-290 didn't like anyone who brought up the topic of family, because he found that if they wormed their way into his head, he couldn't stop thinking about them.

This time, it was his sister who came into his mind. Her name was Zora, and she was a kind soul, though TK-290 conveniently forgot this long ago. He chose to remember only one memory about her, and that was her furious expression when she learned that he supported the Empire. It reminded him of how his family never agreed with him or let him follow his dreams. It reminded him of how he paved his own path through the galaxy.

Then someone else vividly came into his mind, someone who normally appeared only in his dreams. A girl who was his only weakness these days. A beautiful light-purple-skinned Twi'lek called Nawara. She was a slave near TK-290's old home, and he'd always dreamed of making enough money to free and pursue her. That wasn't happening now, of course; he was never returning to Saleucami. He could dream, though.

The sound of speeder bikes jolted TK-290 out of his reverie, and he looked up in time to see two speeders passing by, with… rebels aboard. TK-151 gestured at them briefly, and the two troopers climbed on their own bikes and sped off.

As the two scouts chased after the rebels, TK-290 fired the gun on his bike and managed to hit the back of one of the speeders. He felt joyful, as he always did when something like this occurred.

Suddenly, that same bike reversed sharply, and moved rapidly behind TK-290's bike. He looked at the bike, surprised that someone could pull that off, or even have the creativity to do so. And before TK-290 could even react, the rebel shot the engine of his bike.

As soon as this happened, and TK-290 saw a tree in front of him, he knew he would die, probably immediately upon impact. The world seemed to slow down as he spun around and around. Nawara appeared in his mind, one of her rare but bright laughs echoing through his head, her shining purple eyes sparkling with joy. Maybe if he hadn't joined the Empire, he could've dated her. He might've even married her.

His family's image then materialized, but they weren't angry at him. No… they were smiling. They looked proud. His parents looked significantly older, and his sister appeared more mature than when he left. Zora's voice whispered, "we love you." At those triggering words, his intense love for his family came flooding back, and he wished he could hug them one last time before the end, wished he could turn back time, prevent himself leaving, prevent his family's heartbreak.

As TK-290's eyes closed right before he smashed into the tree, he recalled his name, the name that he left behind. Elian Jervada. A boy who loved his family. A boy who loved someone he couldn't love at the time. And now, a man who regretted everything he had done in the past twenty years, a man who rues his actions, a man who would give anything to see his loving family and beautiful Nawara once again. Yes. That's who he was. Elian Jervada.
