It Might Be You – A Gingaman Romance-Friendship Story

Ginga Forest, outskirts of Nagoya, Japan, Valentine's Day 1999.

Gingaman had finally defeated Captain Zahab in one final battle that determined the fate of mankind. This was not without an extremely exhausting fight with the Earth Monster, which nearly contaminated all life source on Earth. The Gingamen dealt the vanquishing blow to the criminal pirate warlord using their ultimate move, Galactic Flash. Just as they finally defeated Zahab, they saw their own home right before their eyes. Not only the land itself – The villagers, including Elder Orghi and Miharu (Hayate's lost fiancee), came back to life. The Rangers rushed to reunite with everyone who they thought died after the Balban forces invaded the village in an attempt to kill them.

Hayate and Miharu rushed towards each other, tears running from their eyes as they hugged. Ginga Green was with his lost beloved once again. Miharu was able to hear her future husband play melodic tunes from his wind flute again. Gouki took Suzuko by the arm and gave her a tour of his beloved home. Ryouma, having no one to be with (in all actuality), spent time with Yuuta, who he had since considered his very own little brother, making him the middle child in he and Hyuuga's family (of all sorts). He'd mentored the little fellow in the ways of the warrior, a teacher unlike any other. Elder Orghi held out his right hand and congratulated every single one of the Gingamen for a job well done preventing the greatest disaster in all of mankind and the Earth from the hands of Captain Zahab and the Balban forces.

Saya, Ginga Pink, couldn't be seen apart from her best friend Hikaru, Ginga Yellow, for the majority of the time. They'd been really good friends since childhood and were seen as sweethearts from a young age. All of the village saw them chasing each other through the woods, in close proximity. Suddenly, she stopped in the presence of Hyuuga, Bull Black, that other man she heavily admired from a distance.

"Hikaru, we'll continue this later. I gotta talk to Hyuuga!" Saya exclaimed as she slowed down to meet up with Hyuuga.

"Okay, Beautiful!" Hikaru yelped back as he turned around and gestured with open hands in front of him in a megaphone motion. He then turned to shoot the breeze to the other villagers.

"Hyuuga, can I have a word?" She asked the older gentleman, ten years her senior.

"Sure," Hyuuga replied as she patted Saya on the shoulder. "What's on your mind?"

Saya looked away. It took a few seconds for her to gather her thoughts before she took a deep breath and asked, "Now, that you have your Earth powers back, what are you gonna do?"

Hyuuga turned away from Saya and looked upon the community, gathered around as one giant, happy family. "Well, as the eldest overseeing the growth of younger people in this village, it's my primary responsibility to restore this place back to the way it once was...but somewhat with better structure. Ryouma and I made up our minds to supervise every evolution of rebuilding."

"And Masami?" Saya asked tensely, her heart palpating rapidly as the two words resonated out of her.

"Interesting for you to ask. Of course, I'll have to see her within these upcoming days. She's been on my mind ever since I was taken captive by Bucrates. Now, that the old scholar is gone, I'm free to go wherever I wish, especially if it meant being with her," Hyuuga reflected in deep earnest.

Saya turned to him again, this time with tears starting to pour from her eyes.

"What's wrong?" Hyuuga asked with a concerned look.

Taking a moment to further gather her thoughts, she somewhat angrily replied, "You know how I felt about you after all these years. But, it seems your heart is elsewhere." She paused before she added, "I think it's gonna take a while for me to process what you just said."

Hyuuga paused for a bit. He then responded with a solemn look on his face, "Saya, there's no need for that to transpire. I do know about how you've always felt. Although, I'm gonna be the straightest I could ever be when it comes to you - You pretty much solely asked me to be your mentor when we encountered that evil mummy that possessed Masami. For that, I'm sure you'll find somebody."

Saya briskly turned away from Hyuuga, slightly disappointed from his subtle rejection of her affections on the spot. Wanting to scream at the top of her lungs, she, instead, did her best to compose herself in front of everybody when she softly yet annoyingly asked, "Who? Do you even have any idea who it is?!"

Hyuuga crossed his arms and looked away from her. He looked at the clear sky above, took another deep breath and sincerely claimed, "I think I just might know who that special person is." He then held out an open hand (in a gentle yet direct "Knife Hand" motion) and pointed to Hikaru. Saya looked at where he pointed, Ginga Yellow who was smiling as he played with the village kids for a bit. She gasped at the thought of actually being with Hikaru. From time to time, she'd perished it out of her mind. But, now, she couldn't help but feel herself, her heart float in the air from within her.

"I think there's a certain Wolf Boy who's always been there for you and loved you with all his heart and being," Hyuuga earnestly pointed out.

Saya's eyes widened at further thought of Hikaru. She exclaimed, "No way!"

"Ah, but, Yes Way, my Dear Young Pink Lady. I know both of you had your differences here and there. But, I know a huge spark of the "L" word between two people when I see one. Now, go to him. He's waiting for you!" Hyuuga told her as he looked at her with a big smile on his face and pointed to Hikaru's direction.

Upon hearing Hyuuga say those words, Saya wiped the bit of tears streaming from her eyes with a sleeve from her dress. She then felt herself let go (albeit with a good deal of lovely adrenaline rushing through her). She gasped for breath a few times and puffed, then turned to Hyuuga, patted his arm, and let out a hearty, "Thanks, Bull Black."

"No problem. Now, go already, Dammit!" Hyuuga exclaimed in a bit of frustration yet playful manner as he laughed.

Saya didn't say anything back. She ran towards Hikaru as she smiled, called out his name and waved. Hikaru turned to her direction, smiled back at her, and shouted back her name. He jogged some paces towards her and gave her a hearty hug, something befitting two paramours that were bestowed the sweetest gift of love by the heavens above. They twirled around and round for a few in sheer romantic, joyful excitement.

"Hikaru, I'm so sorry. I should've realized from the very beginning that it was you all along," Saya apologized as she let the tears flow from her eyes once more, this time with utmost joy for now being in the arms of her true lover.

"It's fine, Saya. I'll never let you go," Hikaru smiled as he cradled her.

"We'll be together forever!" They both happily declared while Saya leaned on Hikaru's chest as she was locked tight in his embrace. Then, they broke away from that embrace and held hands as they look into each others eyes.

"Saya, marry me within a few years from now. Please be my wife someday," Hikaru requested of Saya lovingly.

"Only if you'll be my husband and, most of all, my darling for all time," Saya replied in kind with a very gleeful smile on her face.

"I love you so much, Cat Girl."

"The same from me to you, Wolf Boy!"

"Aw, Baby Girl!" Hikaru exclaimed as he kissed Saya on the forehead. He didn't want to give her a kiss on the lips as to not gross out the kids staring at them. Nonetheless, these kids cheered at the lovers. So, did Gouki and Suzuko (who both laughed and cried simultaneously at the lovely sight), Miharu (who smiled and didn't say anything as she sat beside Hayate on a wooden horse hitching post) and Hayate (who stopped playing his flute to proudly stare at his two teammates who'd just become betrothed towards each other in front of everybody), and Hyuuga.

Hyuuga especially just couldn't help but smile at seeing Hikaru and Saya together. He then turned and walked away to join Ryouma and Yuuta in quiet reflection of this past year filled with so many struggles as warriors defending the Earth from the Balban forces.

All is well now that Ginga Forest has come back to life. Who knows what other adventures and slices of life await the Gingamen in the days and years to come. But, one thing's for sure – Love sure has blossomed anew in this revived village in the wilderness.
