Barney and Snoopy's Beach Party
Chapter 1: Rainy Day Blues
It was a very rainy day, and Danny, Charlie Brown, Schroeder, Franklin, Kim, Frieda, Snoopy, and Woodstock were in the treehouse, staying dry and trying to fight boredom. Charlie Brown was making paper airplanes, Schroeder was practicing on his toy piano, Franklin tossing playing card around the place, Frieda was trying on hats, and Snoopy was fooling around with a puzzle cube while Danny and Kim stared out the window, still bored and wanting the rain to stop.
"Well, I did every piece of Beethoven I could think of." Schroeder sighed, clearly tired of playing piano.
"And I went through at least three packs of cards." Franklin sighed.
"I'm getting bored with hats." Frieda sighed.
"And I've already made enough paper airplanes." Charlie Brown sighed before he noticed Snoopy throwing the puzzle cube down in frustration. "And Snoopy is getting really frustrated with the puzzle cube." They then joined their friends near the window. "It's been raining for three days! You think it'll stop anytime soon, Kim?"
"Sorry Charlie Brown, but I think the rain is getting even heavier." Kim shrugged as they heard more sounds. "Listen."
"That doesn't sound like rain." Danny realized. They were confused as Jeff, Linus, and Lucy walked into the treehouse, all three of them wearing raincoats.
"Hi Charlie Brown, hi Snoopy, hi Woodstock, hi Schroeder, hi Danny, hi Franklin." Jeff and Linus smiled, getting their friends attention.
"Hi Kim, hi Frieda." Lucy smiled.
"Hi Jeff, hi Linus, hi Lucy!" they smiled and waved.
"Come on in." Charlie Brown smiled. "It's nice and dry in here."
"Thanks. We've must have walked through a hundred puddles." Linus smiled as their friends laughed, and they took off their raincoats.
"It was a pretty wet walk." Jeff smiled.
"Hey, is Rerun coming over today?" Kim asked Lucy.
"No. He's sick with a fever. He should be better in a day or two." Lucy frowned as they joined their friends near the window.
"I sure wish it would stop raining." Franklin said.
"Me too." Charlie Brown said as they looked out the window.
Barney's Friends and Peanuts Gang:
Rain rain, go away
Come again another day
All of us just want to play
So rain rain, go away
"It's not listening." Linus sighed, ringing out his blanket.
"WE'RE HERE!" Peppermint Patty called out as she, Keesha and Marcie walked over.
"Hey everyone." Waved Keesha.
"Nice weather, we're having." Lucy snarked.
"If you're a duck." Marcie explained, trying to clean her glasses.

Emily and Heather then entered, with the latter holding the Barney doll.
"Hi everybody!" Emily greeted.
"Hi friends!" Heather said, ringing out her hair.
"Hi Emily, hi Heather." The others replied.
"It's pretty wet out there, I think Barney needs a towel." Emily commented.
"I'll go get one!" Schroeder offered.

"Here you go, Barney. A nice warm towel." Schroeder explained, wrapping the Barney doll in the towel.
Just then, the Barney doll came to amazing life, with the towel landing on his face.
"HEY!" Snoopy exclaimed, hugging the dinosaur.
"BARNEY!" the kids cheered as they hugged him.
"Where is everybody?" Barney wondered.
"We're still here, Barney." Lucy said, grabbing the towel.
"That's better. Now I can see all your pretty, smiling faces." Barney chuckled. "Although the picture on the towel was pretty, too."
"What was the picture of?" Jeff inquired.
"Well-" Barney began.
"Hi everyone." Sally said, entering the treehouse calmly and removing her rain coat.
"Hi Sally." Barney waved back.
"I've never seen such a heavy downpour!" Sally commented.
"Us neither." Kim replied.
"What about you, Lila? Lila?" Sally looked behind her "Stop playing in the puddles and come up here!"
"Coming!" Lila's voice replied.
"Barney, towel picture, what is it?" Charlie Brown asked.
"It's a picture of-" Barney began.
Lila then rushed into the treehouse, soaking wet and sporting a raincoat and rainboots "I LOVE THE RAIN!" she smiled before removing her raingear and shaking off.
"Lila!" the kids exclaimed as water droplets went flying.
"Sorry." Lila chuckled, ringing out her ponytail. She then looked over "What's the picture on your towel, Barney?"
"See? It's a picture of a beach, with sailboats, ocean, and a big yellow sun." Barney smiled as the kids remained sad.
"Sunshine. That's what we need." Frieda sighed.
"I know! It's been so boring with all this rain." Kim sighed.
"But there are other things you can do on rainy days. Like reading." Marcie smiled.
"MARCIE!" Peppermint Patty exclaimed.
"Forget it. We've been through almost every book in the place anyway." Franklin sighed.
"Plus we're bored doing other things too." Charlie Brown sighed.
"I wish we could be some place like the beach instead of here with all this rain." Jeff said with the kids agreeing.
"Oh, you do? Well, it would take a lot of imagination!" Barney smiled.
"We've got imagination!" Sally smiled.
"Lots of imagination!" Danny smiled.
"Then what are we waiting for, gang? Summer vacation?" Peppermint Patty smirked before she noticed Marcie was gone, but then came back wearing swimming rings, arm floaties, a sun hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and sandals. The kids couldn't help but laugh over it.
"Wow, Marcie. Looks like you're good to go!" Barney chuckled.
"It doesn't hurt to be prepared." Marcie smiled proudly. "I've even brought along a nice fruit juice beverage to stay hydrated." She took a sip from her pineapple cup.
"Alright Barney, how do we get to the beach?" Lila asked, putting on a pair of purple sunglasses.
"Lucy, may we see the picture on the towel?" Barney asked.
"Of course." Lucy said as she opened it.
"Then let's hit the beach!" Barney declared as they all got transported to the beach.
"Well, here we are." Charlie Brown said before seeing Heather in a turquoise swimsuit with matching sandals and sunglasses. "You look beautiful today."
"Thank you." Heather flirted.
"THE WHOLE BEACH DOESN'T NEED TO KNOW YOU'RE IN LOVE!" Sally groaned.
"Look at that great, big, beautiful beach." Barney smiled.
"And the waves!" Jeff commented.
"And the seagulls!" Schroeder mentioned.
"And the beautiful sun!" added Kim.
"Beautiful? Much needed is a better word, Kim." Lucy commented.
"That too." Kim giggled.
Barney, Barney's Friends and Peanuts Gang:
Oh Mister Sun, sun, Mister Golden Sun
Please shine down on me

Hiding behind a tree

These little children are asking you
To please come out so we can play with you

Kim and Keesha then began to dance around together, as Heather twirled around and Snoopy did his signature Happy Dance.
