Chapter 5: Revenge!

Meanwhile, back on the beach, Sally, Lila, Keesha, Heather, Danny, Frieda, and Baby Bop were still playing in the sand with Marcie still buried. "This is too perfect!" Lila giggled.

"I know. Marcie looks silly!" Keesha snickered as Barney and the rest came back from their submarine trip.

"How was the submarine?" Heather asked.

"It was magnificent! You should have been there!" Charlie Brown smiled.

"Where's Mr. Boyd?" asked Barney.

"Oh, he's getting ready for the beach party, and look. He brought out all the sand toys for us to play with." Lila smiled.

"Oh very nice." Barney smiled.

"I see you're finished." Lucy smiled over Marcie still sleeping. "You think we should wake her up now?"

"Nah, wait until I get a few photos of her." Peppermint Patty smirked, pulling out her camera and snickering while taking a few photos of Marcie.

"I'm gonna build a great big sandcastle!" Baby Bop smiled.

"Sissy, I could build a sandcastle that's way bigger than yours!" BJ declared.

"Actually, I could make one bigger than yours." Linus told BJ.

Lila giggled. "And I could make one bigger than yours combined!"

"Won't we run out of sand?" BJ asked.

"Well there's plenty of sand on the beach. Why don't we get busy building our sandcastles?" Lila said. "And then we'll see whose is biggest!"

"That's a great idea!" BJ said.

"And I think so too!" Baby Bop siad.

"And if we work together, the sandcastles can be even bigger!" Lila told Baby Bop.

"Deal!" Baby Bop said.

"Then we're a team." Linus said, high-fiving BJ.

"Lucy, Schroeder, Keesha, Danny, will you three please help us?" asked Lila.

"Of course we'll help you." Lucy offered as Schroeder, Keesha and Danny nodded in agreement.

"As long as you don't try to flirt with me." Schroeder said to Lucy.

Baby Bop smiled. "Okay, let's build our sandcastle over there!"

"No peeking." Lila smirked.

"Our castle will be way bigger than the girls' castle!" BJ exclaimed.

"And habitable." Linus added, showing an earlier sandcastle he made, with Woodstock living in it.

"We'll help you." Emily spoke up.

"Exactly!" Kim agreed.

"Cause we're your friends." Jeff added.

"Thanks, guys." Linus smiled.

BJ looked over. "Hey Pepper, are you gonna help us?"

"One more picture..." Peppermint Patty said, trying to get the perfect shot.

"Patty, we don't have all day!" BJ added.

"Fine, fine, some people don't appreciate photography..." Peppermint Patty huffed.

"I'll take the picture!" Sally offered.

"Thanks." Peppermint Patty said, handing Sally the camera. "Ready, Jay! We'll dig all the sand you need!"

"Then it won't be a hassle to build the sandcastle!" BJ giggled. "Let's go!"

BJ:

Fairytale castles with beautiful flags

Flying higher than you've ever seen

Barney:

Just imagine all of the things you could see

Maybe even a king or a queen

Barney, BJ, Jeff, Emily, Kim, Peppermint Patty and Linus:

Castles so high, up to the sky

I know that I would love to go there

Castles so high, up to the sky

Wouldn't you love to go, too?

"Photography is hard..." Sally commented, trying to get the right angle.

Barney:

Magical places and musical things

Big surprises and so much more

Baby Bop and Lila:

We could ride a horse, having fun of course

Barney:

An adventure like never before

"Almost, no, too much sun..." Sally focused.

Barney, BJ, Jeff, Emily, Kim, Peppermint Patty and Linus:

Castles so high, up to the sky

I know that I would love to go there

Castles so high, up to the sky

Wouldn't you love to go, too?

BJ and Peppermint Patty:

Wouldn't you love to go too?

"Grrrr, photography is harder than it looks." Sally said before looking over at the castle BJ, Linus, Jeff, Emily, Kim and Peppermint Patty were making. "It's beautiful!" she commented.

"All done." BJ smiled.

"Now THAT'S a sandcastle." Linus said as Woodstock poked his head out of a window in the sandcastle.

"You worked very hard on that sandcastle." Barney said.

"And we had lots of help!" Linus added.

"How's the photography, Sally?" Barney asked

"Oh, I just got the right angle and the right amount of sunlight...now I need to take the picture!" Sally said and she was about to take the picture when a butterfly landed on Marcie's nose.

"Perfect." Sally said, taking a few pictures. "Now to get Lucy."

As she said that, Lila, Baby Bop, Lucy, Schroeder, Keesha and Danny returned "Castles so high, up to the sky, I know that I-" Baby Bop and Lila sang before seeing the kids' sandcastle.

"WHOA!" Lila gawked.

"Bravo, Linus." Lucy smirked to herself, with a bucket of water.

"That IS a nice castle, BJ!" Baby Bop said.

"Thanks, we're glad you like it. It took a lot of blood and sweat and tears." Linus explained.

"Here's your camera back." Sally explained to Peppermint Patty. The tomboy grinned with a sinister smile.

Barney looked over. "Lucy, what IS the bucket of water for?"

"We had some leftover from the moat." Lucy said, giggling.

"Moat?" BJ wondered.

Lucy then threw the bucket onto Marcie's head, splashing her awake. "AUGH! Water!" Marcie exclaimed, waking up to see she was buried in the sand with a mermaid's tail. "Lucille...Patricia..."

"Oh come on! You look funny like that!" Lucy laughed with Peppermint Patty as Marcie got out and dusted herself off.

"I'll get you both back for this...someday." Marcie sighed.

"Do you still want us to see your sandcastle?" BJ asked.

"Uh huh!" Baby Bop smirked. "Follow me!" With that, Barney, Snoopy, BJ and the kids followed Baby Bop with Marcie still dusting off her beach clothes.

"Come on, Marcie! It was just a little beach fun." Peppermint Patty smiled.

"I understand, sir. But one day, you'll really feel the burn of embarrassment." Marcie grumbled.

"Sure. That'll come the day I decide to wear a skirt!" Peppermint Patty laughed as they reached Baby Bop's huge sandcastle.

"Ta da! This is my sandcastle!" Baby Bop smiled.

"Whoa!" the kids said, awestruck.

"That is a nice sandcastle, Baby Bop!" Barney smiled.

"Ay yi yi. It's awesome." BJ groaned as he knew he lost.

"Why thank you, BJ." Lila smiled.

"I got to admit, that is the best sandcastle any of us has ever made!" Linus smiled.

"Now we can play some castle games. And then it'll be time to get ready for the beach party!" Barney smiled to which the kids cheered.

Later, the sun was about to go down, and the kids, animals, and dinosaurs gathered around a firepit, ready to enjoy the beach party. "Well, everything set for the beach party, and I'm ready to have some fun! How about you guys?" Mr. Boyd asked.

"We sure are!" Sally smiled.

"I think we should start the party by having something good to eat." Danny happily suggested.

"Or maybe we can play a game. Something fun to do." Heather smiled.

"Oh actually, we can do both." Barney smiled. "Because in this bag, I have yummy sort of treat, that is also fun to make! See?"

Mr. Boyd and Snoopy looked in the bag and smiled. "Uh huh!" Snoopy happily muttered.

"Oooh! I'm gonna want some of these, and then I'll want...s'more!" Mr. Boyd smiled.

"S'mores?! YAY!" the kids happily exclaimed.

"Nothing beats s'mores! Right, Marcie?" Peppermint Patty smirked.

"You got that right, sir." Marcie smiled as they collected the marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers. "Though I still want to get you back for earlier."

Barney:

You get a graham cracker

And you break it two

Mr. Boyd, Baby Bop, BJ, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:

We've got a graham cracker

And we break it like you

Mr. Boyd:

You get a chunk of chocolate

And you put it right there

Baby Bop, BJ, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:

We've got a chunk of chocolate

And we do it with flair

Keesha and Lucy:

You roast a marshmallow,

You get it real hot

Mr. Boyd, Baby Bop, BJ, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:

We roast marshmallows

And we like 'em a lot.

Barney:

You smoosh 'em all together

And take a big bite.

Barney, Mr. Boyd, Baby Bop, BJ, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:

Mmmm... S'mores;

You know it's all right.

Crackledy crackers and lickity sweet

Mmmm... S'mores;

They're so good to eat.

Mmmm... S'mores;

They're really a treat.

Baby Bop and Lila:

Do it again!

Baby Bop, BJ, Barney's Friends and Peanuts Gang:

Do it again!

Barney:

You get a graham cracker and you break it in two!

Barney's Friends and Peanuts Gang:

You get a chunk of chocolate and you do what I do!

Mr. Boyd:

You roast a marshmallow, you get it just right!

Barney, Mr. Boy, Baby Bop, BJ, Barney's Friends and Peanuts Gang:

You smoosh them all together and you take a big bite!

Crackledy crackers and lickity sweet

Mmmm... S'mores;

They're so good to eat.

Mmmm... S'mores;

They're really a treat.

"Now let's eat!" Lila exclaimed.

After eating the smores and roasting marshmallows, the kids laughed playfully.

"Marcie?" Lila spoke up shyly.

"Yeah?" Marcie asked.

"You've got a bit of chocolate, right there..." Lila pointed.

"What a great day!" Sally said, trying to hold Linus' hand.

"Don't even try!" Linus huffed.

"Okay, but I still wanna get back at Peppermint Patty and Lucy." Marcie replied.

"Understandable." Lila shrugged.

"These S'mores are delicious!" Heather commented.

"Well I'm glad you enjoyed them. And I hope you enjoy the next part of our party too!" Barney explained. "Because I got some very special friends I want you to meet."

"Oooooooh!" the kids said before looking over and seeing hula dancers. Snoopy gasped and did a catcall.

"Good grief...I have the only dog who does catcalls!" Charlie Brown said.

"Aloha!" the women said.

"Aloha, it's good to see you!" Barney said, giving one a hug.

"Everyone, I'd like you to meet Kalea and Lelani. They come from Hawaii." Barney explained.

"Oh, Hawaii is a beautiful place." Mr. Boyd smiled.

"I know! I've seen documentaries on it! It looks so beautiful!" Heather smiled.

"Aloha everyone. It's very nice to meet you." Kalea smiled.

"Aloha!" the kids and BJ smiled.

"Oooh! What is Aloha?" Baby Bop asked curiously.

"In Hawaii, the word aloha means many things." Lelani explained. "It means hello, goodbye, and even love."

"And love makes aloha my favorite word." Heather fluttered her eyelashes at Charlie Brown.

"I've invited Kalea and Lelani over to our beach party so we can learn the hula." Barney smiled, much to the kid's excitement.

"The hula is a very special Hawaiian dance." Kalea explained. "You use your body and hands to tell a story."

"Wow. I'd think we'd all like to try that." Keesha smiled.

"I know I would!" Heather cheered.

"Barney, would you play the ukulele for us?" Lelani asked as she handed it to him.

"I guess I could give it a try." Barney smiled as he tuned it. "Ready when you are ladies!"

With that, Kalea and Lelani danced while Barney played the ukulele. "Wow. Look at how graceful they dance." Heather whispered to Charlie Brown.

"And they're telling a beautiful story." Marcie whispered.

"Well, it is a very beautiful dance." Lucy smiled. After the dance was over, the kids cheered.

"That was wonderful!" Barney praised.

"Mahalo. That means thank you." Kalea smiled.

"Mahalo." the kids repeated.

"Now we'd like all of you to try the hula too." Leiliani smiled.

"OK! What do we need to do?" Heather asked eagerly.

"First, I think you should wear one of these." Leiliani said, pulling out a lei.

"Flowers? No way." BJ shook his head.

"Oh, BJ, I think they're pretty." Lucy teased.

"This is called a lei, BJ. And in Hawaii, they're worn by women..." Leiliani explained.

"And men." Kalea smiled.

"Come on, Jay! So it's a flower necklace. How bad could that be?" Peppermint Patty nudged her friend in the ribs.

"Ouch. Okay, okay, I'll try it on." BJ sighed.

"That's the spirit!" Barney said.

"And, we have more Hawaiian clothing for everyone!" added Kalea.

"Ooooooooh!" Snoopy said, holding up a skirt.

"IS THAT A SKIRT?!" Peppermint Patty gasped.

"Come on, Patricia! Get in the beach party mood!" Lucy said, grabbing a skirt and swaying it in front of the tomboy's face.

"Fine!" huffed Peppermint Patty.

A bit later, everyone was dressed up in Hawaiian clothing. "Everyone looks very Hawaiian." Barney chuckled.

"Uh huh." Marcie said, looking over at the ocean.

"Marcie's NEVER gonna let me live this down..." Peppermint Patty groaned, not very fond of the skirt. "I mean, I can handle the flowers-"

"It's tradition." Lucy smirked.

Heather giggled and rushed over "Hey Marcie..."

"Yeah?" Marcie asked, looking at Heather.

"Look who's wearing a skirt." Heather chanted as she got Peppermint Patty's camera ready.

Marcie looked over and began laughing, while Heather took pictures.

"NO PICTURES, NO PICTURES!" Peppermint Patty screamed.

"Now who's laughing?" BJ smiled.

"HOW did I get talked into this?!" the tomboy asked.

"I think you look pretty." Marcie cooed.

"I think so too, Marcie." Lelani agreed.

"WHAT did I do to deserve this?!" Peppermint Patty asked.

"Now watch closely and do what we do." Leiliani instructed.

"OK!" the kids smiled as they began to dance the hula.

"This is so fun!" Lila squealed with delight.

"You look so beautiful doing that." Charlie Brown flirted.

"Thank you." Heather smiled as she danced so gracefully.

"Consider us even, sir." Marcie smirked.

"I guess so, Mars Bar." Peppermint Patty groaned.

"Hula to the left, hula to the right, hula to the left, hula to the right." Lucy smiled.

"Everyone loves...Barney." Linus smiled as the dance ended.
