Chapter 6: Aloha, Barney!

Later, Mr. Boyd was closing up the shop while the kids, animals and dinosaurs walked around the beach.

"I liked doing the hula!" Kim said.

"It was so much fun!" Heather giggled.

"I think everybody liked it. Kalea and Leilani were good teachers." Barney added.

Baby Bop nodded "They were nice. Can we visit them in Hawaii, someday?"

"Maybe." Frieda said, collecting a few more shells.

"With Barney around, who knows what's gonna happen!" Lucy added.

"Franklin, look at the sky!" Marcie gasped, motioning at a bright sunset.

"WHOA!" Franklin gawked as Peppermint Patty took pictures of the sunset.

"It's so pretty!" Baby Bop giggled.

"That's called a sunset." Barney told the three year old.

Marcie smiled. "When the sun goes down, it lights the sky with lots of beautiful colors."

"I always wanted to kiss under a sunset." Heather confessed.

Charlie Brown smiled. "I can make that wish come true." And he pulled her in for a kiss on the lips.

"GET A BEACH!" Sally gagged.

"Barney, this has been a wonderful place to visit, today." Kim said.

"Agreed." Schroeder said.

"I love the beach!" Baby Bop cheered.

"Well all it takes is a little imagination and you can visit ANYTIME!" Barney chuckled.

Barney:

Imagine a place you want to be

Imagine a place for you and me

Imagine a place and you'll be there

Imagination can take you anywhere

Barney's Friends and Peanuts Gang:

Imagine a place with a setting sun

Imagine a place that's lots of fun

Imagine a place and you'll be there

Imagination can take you anywhere

Barney:

With your mind, your eyes can see

Imagine a place you want to be

Imagination can take you anywhere

Your imagination can take you anywhere

Barney, Mr. Boyd, Baby Bop, BJ, Barney's Friends and Peanuts Gang:

Imagine a place you want to be

Imagine a place for you and me

Imagine a place and you'll be there

Imagination can take you anywhere

Barney:

Your imagination can take you anywhere

Barney then gave the old ship's wheel a spin and it accidentally fell off the post and into the sand.

"Oh Barney..." Lucy laughed.

"Guess I don't know my own strength..." Barney chuckled sheepishly, making everyone laugh.

Baby Bop then let out a yawn. "That was nice..."

"You sound sleepy, Baby Bop." Keesha noticed.

"Can't blame her. We all had a lot of fun." Lucy said.

"Here's your blankie, Baby Bop." Marcie grabbed the blankie from her beach bag and handed it to the dinosaur.

"Thank you..." Baby Bop smiled.

"You're welcome."

"I guess if the sun is going to bed, we should be going, too." BJ said. "Thanks for everything, guys! We had a great time!"

"Yes we did..." murmured Baby Bop.

"Bye!" BJ waved as the two disappeared in a trace of magic sparkles.

"I guess it's time we get heading back to the treehouse too." Barney commented.

"Wait! One picture. All of us. In front of the sunset." Lila suggested.

"I'll take the picture." Mr. Boyd offered.

"Thanks!" Peppermint Patty said, handing him the camera. The kids, Snoopy, Woodstock and Barney then gathered near the setting sun.

"Say 'Beach party'." Mr. Boyd said.

"Beach party!" the kids and Barney replied.

When the picture was taken, Mr. Boyd handed Peppermint Patty her camera back. "Thanks, Mr. B! These pictures will be great in the school paper!"

"Thanks for everything, Mr. Boyd." Danny said.

"It was my pleasure. So I'll see you around, soon." Mr. Boyd explained.

And with that, the kids and animals began to leave the beach. "Hopefully we don't track sand everywhere!" Sally commented.

They then returned to the treehouse, to find it had stopped raining and they were greeted to the same setting sun from at the beach. "Home again, home again!" Lucy declared.

"I loved the beach!" Barney said.

"That was so much fun, sailing on Mr. Boyd's boat!" Franklin said.

"I'm glad you liked it." Barney said.

"So was wind surfing!" Peppermint Patty said, as she and Kim were going over the pictures taken.

"I loved the submarine ride." Jeff explained, petting Snoopy's head. "Thanks, Barney."

"I had fun too." Barney said as Heather glanced over at the sunset.

"What a lovely sunset to come back to." Heather said before realizing what she said "Sunset?! Everyone, look!"

Marcie happily gasped. "It stopped raining!" she realized.

"Whoo hoo!" Snoopy cheered.

"You're right! The rain did stop!" Emily smiled.

Barney chuckled. "I guess when you brought back those sunny smiles from the beach, it dried up all the rain." he smiled.

"The reason we're smiling is because of you, Barney." Charlie Brown smiled.

"That's right! Today was really special." Kim smiled.

"Well, it was special for me today too. Every day is special when you spend it with people you love." Barney smiled.

Barney:

I love you, you love me.

We're a happy family.

With a great big hug

And a kiss from me to you,

Won't you say you love me too?

"And we love you, Barney." Linus smiled.

"Awwww...whenever it's rainy or sunny, you're all very special to me." Barney smiled.

Barney, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:

I love you, you love me,

We're best friends,

Like friends should be

With a great big hug,

And a kiss from me to you,

Won't you say you love me too?

"Thanks again, Barney." Heather smiled. "Whoops! I mean, Mahalo."

"Mahalo." the rest of the kids smiled.

"You're all very welcome." Barney smiled.

"Well now that it stopped raining, I guess we won't need this towel anymore. Right Barney?" Schroeder asked, but no answer. "Barney?"

"There he is." Lila smiled, pointing to the Barney doll sitting next to Snoopy who was sitting in a lounge chair, drinking the last of the fruit punch.

"Thanks again, Barney. And thanks, Snoopy. See you tomorrow!" Charlie Brown smiled as the kids left the treehouse.

"And you two both deserve a star." Kim smiled, handing Snoopy a starfish. "See you tomorrow. Bye!"

Snoopy smiled and waved as he studied the starfish with interest, before kindly giving it to the Barney doll, who winked in approval, and Snoopy winked right back.
