Denki's pov:
As the evening approached, my energy was spent, so I decided to relax in the common room while Asui and Momo headed into the room to rest after their escalation between Asui and Kyoka at the lake.
I sat down on a comfortable couch, feeling a bit strange, almost like a buzz in the air. It was as if the static from my quirk was getting a life of its own. Suddenly, the entire room plunged into darkness, leaving me in an eerie silence.
"Whoa, what just happened?" I mumbled to myself, my voice echoing in the blackness.
In a matter of seconds, the once-lit common room had transformed into a pitch-black abyss. Panic seeped in when I heard the voices of Mina and Uraraka not far from me, their hushed tones betraying their confusion and concern.
"Guys, where are you? What's going on?" Mina's voice trembled.
"It's like all the lights went out at once!" Uraraka's voice joined in, filled with a mixture of fear and uncertainty.
It didn't take them long to realize that something was amiss, and I sensed their worry intensifying. As the two of them fumbled around in the darkness, I felt panic wash over me as well when I realized I was not able to explain the situation. My voice wouldn't get out.
"Wait a minute," I heard Kirishima's voice rise above the chaos, "is Denki around? Maybe he's messing with us, or his quirk is acting up. I heard about some of the others at this class having trouble too."
"Yeah, he's got a point," Uraraka agreed, her tone still shaky. "Denki, are you there?"
I tried to answer, but my words seemed to get stuck in my throat. Fearful that something might have happened to me, they quickly turned to look for Shoto, hoping his fire or Bakugo's explosions would illuminate the situation.
"Todoroki? Bakugo? We need some light here!" Kirishima's voice grew more urgent.
"I got this," Bakugo grumbled, a spark igniting a small explosion, casting a flickering glow across the room.
The brief burst of light lit most of the room but they couldn't see that I was right there in the room. The three of them exchanged glances, clearly confused and alarmed by my seeming absence.
"What the hell? Where's Denki?" Bakugo's voice, filled with a mix of annoyance and genuine concern, echoed through the room.
"Let's alert the teachers, they gotta be here somewhere, maybe this is a normal problem." Suggested Uraraka. Bakugo let the way as Kirishima and Uraraka followed to look for them.
Suddenly I was all alone. It all happened so fast and I was right there. They could have found me, but now? What should I do? I tried to move, opened my mouth to speak but no words came out neither did my legs do what I ordered.
Another noice hit my ear. Several pairs of feet coming down the stairs. Then a voice. "Look out, sharp right, then we are in the common room." There was no doubt it was Asui.
"Do you see the teachers?" Asked- I think it was Kyoka. "No, no teachers I'm afraid not a single soul."
"What about Denki? Do you see him? He said he wanted to chill around here. Said another voice- maybe Momo.
"But then he would have said something wouldn't he?" Gave the other voice to doubt.
Then, a shocked voice, likely Asui's again, chimed in, "Wait, guys, I think I found him."
Momo and Kyoka, following Asui's lead, discovered me downstairs, sitting alone on one of the couches. I was in a trance-like state, my eyes were likely blank and distant telling from the looks on their face.
