I am just saying this now this story is going to be far different than normal Naruto
Konoha October 10th, 6 years after the Kyuubi attacked
It was the celebration of the day Kyuubi was defeated, but for another half of the village, it was a day for revenge.
For the last 2 years, half of the village would host a Fox Hunt, they would hunt down whatever was left of that demon fox and try to kill it, it just so happened that the only thing related to that fox and that day was a small child who was unfortunate enough to be sealing the beast.
Sure most of the villagers knew better and knew that he was holding the beast back, however, they couldn't just do nothing, They lost so many loved ones that they still hurt an innocent child every October 10th.
It was the third annual Fox Hunt and we see a small child, only six years of age, his name was Naruto, and he was the one holding back a beast that would level the village, Naruto was running between alleyways trying to get home before midnight, he knew if he did not make it he wouldn't live to tell the tale.
As Naruto was running he was unfortunate, on his usual route he found an old drunk man who didn't realize it at first, but when he did he yelled out to all his friends and soon half the village was after him.
Naruto could do nothing but run so thats what he did.
Uchiha compound
Itachi Uchiha was busy putting his brother to bed as his parents were away on some Uchiha business, after which he relaxed for a little bit until it hit him.
"Shit shit shit! It's October 10th!" Itachi exclaimed, he had forgotten he was given a mission to protect the Nine Tails Jinchuraki on this night.
Itachi immediately left his house and started sprinting towards the heart of the village, he used his fast speed as well as his crows to quickly find Naruto, but it was too late, The damage was done, it wasn't just Civilians but ninjas were joining in, using sharp swords and kunai to cut Naruto or to stab him while civilians would hold him down and beat him, Naruto was on the brink of death when Itachi found him.
Suddenly half the Ninja and civilians died in an instant while the others fled, Itachi didn't know why he had done this but he just thought that this could have been Sasuke as the Uchiha clan had tried to get Sasuke to be the Jailer of the Kyuubi, he couldn't let these people live without fear.
Itachi got out of his daze and immediately checked Naruto's pulse, he was barely alive, Itachi picked him up and ran him to the closest hospital which was luckily only a couple blocks away.
Itachi had made it to the Hospital in just under a minute, "Help! I need help!" Itachi screamed as the boy he was carrying was bleeding all over him.
The nurses immediately got a cart and laid the boy on it, they didn't even know who the boy was until they saw the orange jumpsuit and yellow hair, "I'm sorry but we refuse to help this thing, do you even know what it is," the nurse scowled, she would never help the thing that killed her late husband.
Itachi was fuming, he couldn't believe a hospital would refuse to help anyone at all, Itachi had remembered something the Hokage had said about the mission, "Itachi if anyone is to bring harm to the boy it is under my authority that you can execute that person," Itachi grabbed his sword and put it to the nurses neck, "I am under direct orders of the Hokage, failure to comply with these orders will result in your execution, you may want to think again," Itachi said glaring at the head nurse.
She just stood there with tears in her eyes, she had never been so scared, she couldn't move, she felt like she couldn't breathe, "o-okay w-we will get i-it to the next available o-operating room if you c-could just wait out here t-that would be great," the nurse stuttered, this was the closest she had been to death itself.
"No I will be with him for the remainder of his time here whether you like it or not," Itachi calmly said knowing they would try to kill him "accidentally" in the operating room.
"Now hurry the hell up!" Itachi screamed putting his sword closer to the nurse's neck, she rushed with the cart to an operating room with many medical ninjas present who all detested the idea of operating on the demon, however, Itachi changed their mind with the blade of his sword.
The operation took 3 grueling hours as Itachi paced back and forth knowing he could very well lose his rank in the Anbu, however, he was far more worried about the child on the brink of death, he still couldn't believe that civilians and shinobi would bring harm to a child, especially a child who is protected by Konoha law.
The operation finally finished around 3:37 in the morning, Itachi was used to missing a night of sleep every so often but he had just returned from a mission outside of the village the night before and couldn't help but pass out at the young boy's bedside, for the rest of the night nothing had happened as if anyone entered the room they would be met with a blade to the neck and asked why they were there.
Sometime early in the morning around 7 am the third Hokage had shown up at the hospital and had rushed to the room where the young boy lay sleeping, however, the old hokage did not expect to see one of his most prized Anbu sleeping to the point he couldn't detect his own leader, but the old man couldn't help but smile as Itachi had his head on the bedside of this young boy, 'at least Itachi wasnt put into the root, he is still young and has a lot to learn,' by the end of his thoughts Itachi had jolted awake and went towards the Hokage who quickly dismissed Itachis protection to the young boy.
"Itachi you can go home now, I will stay with him from here on," the old man said, Itachi immediately got on his knees as he was in the presence of the most influential person in Konoha, "Lord Third it's my fault if I hadn't forgotten about my mission Naruto would not be in this hospital," Itachi had his head down as he talked to his leader, "Itachi go home I will summon you later, then you will tell me what happened," the old man said, but Itachi knew it meant to get out.
With that Itachi had left in a flock of crows, yet even after he left he couldn't get the blond child off his mind, 'he has no way to defend himself, no way to protect his life' he didn't get to think about it more as he passed out on his bed.
Hiruzen, the Third Hokage sat at Naruto's bedside until he woke up, The old man thought it would be like all those other times when he forgot it had happened and went on with life, but this was not one of those times.
When Naruto had awoken he looked shaken, he looked dead inside, and the joy he had was taken away in an instant, The only words that came out of his mouth were "They kept me awake" Hiruzen immediately knew what this meant, someone had drugged him.
He immediately went to the front counter to demand a toxicology test, to his surprise there was already one demanded by the young Uchiha.
Hiruzen took the paper out of the nurse's hands looked it over and saw that the drug given to Naruto the night before was a far more potent adrenaline shot, He knew only one person made those in Konoha, Anko Mitarashi.
But he couldn't just leave Naruto alone, he called in three of his best Anbu, "Hound, stay here with Naruto, If any nurse tries to give him anything he doesn't need you may do as you wish with them," the old man said, "Yes Lord Third," said the silver-haired Anbu known as hound.
"As for the rest of you, go get Anko Mitarashi and bring her to the interrogation room." And with that, the Hokage left leaving the Anbu to their thing.
1 hour later
Itachi arrived at the Hokage's office as instructed by one of his Anbu, he knew he was in for quite the day.
"Come on in Itachi," Hiruzen said, By the old man's tone Itachi knew he was not in a good mood, Itachi stepped into the room, and surrounding him were his superiors in the Anbu, "Please have a seat Itachi," said the Hokage gesturing towards the open seat in front of him.
Itachi took the seat as instructed and waited for the Hokage to speak, "First of all as your punishment for forgetting about the assigned mission you are to spend the next week training with my three top officers, you are also on cleaning duty for the entire Anbu barracks," Hiruzen said, not only did Itachi get one week in hell with his commanders, he also gets to clean the bathrooms.
"Yes Lord third," is all Itachi had to say, "Now please tell me everything,"
Itachi began telling his leader the entire story, he first started with him killing some of the culprits, then how he saw a needle but didn't think anything of it, and how he took him to the hospital and they refused treatment.
The Third Hokage could only sigh, 'How could I let this happen, a child should never have to go through this,' but he had other things to do so this never happens again.
"Thank you Itachi you may leave," the Hokage said, Itachi left almost immediately, "Let's go pay Anko a visit shall we," the old man said to his Anbu as they left towards the interrogation center.
1 hour later
Hiruzen had been waiting for his Anbu to bring Anko Mitarashi into the room, and not long after was she finally brought in, Anko had no idea why she was brought here but she knew it couldn't be good.
"Hi Anko please have a seat, it's been far too long," the Hokage said with a small smile, "Cut the crap old man, why am I here, I know it's not for a nice tea party," Anko sneered, she was far too busy to be dealing with disturbances.
"Okay let's cut the chit-chat and get right to why you're here, a six-year-old boy was tortured because of you," the Hokage said taking a sip of his tea, "What the hell do you mean, how would that be my fault," she asked, she could not recall torturing a kid.
"Oh don't get me wrong you didn't do it specifically, but you sold an adrenaline shot to someone who did, here take a look at his medical charts," the Hokage said handing her 3 pieces of paper.
The papers read 17 stab wounds, 15 slashes, multiple broken bones and fractures, a concussion, and a slight loss of sight in the right eye.
Anko scanned through this paper and couldn't believe that this was done to a child, She flipped to the next page which was a Toxicology report done by the Hospital, it showed that the drug used was the exact one she sold.
"But I've only ever sold these to Konoha Ninja of at least Chuunin, How could a civilian have gotten it," Anko asked the old man, "Well Anko it wasnt just Civilians doing this to the child but Gennin and Chuunin," the Hokage said calmly, but Anko knew it was anything but calm.
"Wait so you're telling me that a Shinobi tortured a child," Anko asked, she was shocked that any Konoha Shinobi would ever hurt a child, "Yes so I came here because I want you to limit who you sell it to, I don't want this happening again, because if that child's mentality is destroyed the Kyuubi could have a chance at escaping," Hiruzen said, Anko was again shocked but not surprised that Ninja would attack the child, the prisoner did kill many loved ones, "Yes Lord Third, I will only sell to those I know won't use it for anything like that," Anko said, Hiruzen thanked her and left telling her she was free to leave.
Next day
Itachi woke up to a bright idea and headed straight for the Hokage Office, he got there in under 2 minutes and was about to knock on the door to his leader, "Come in Itachi," Hiruzen said, Itacho opened the door and saw the old man doing the thing he hated most, Paperwork.
"You knew I was coming didn't you," Itachi asked, Hiruzen put his stack of papers down and took off his glasses, "Yes I also know what you are here to ask," the old man said, Itachi was shocked, could his leader have figured out what was on his mind before he could.
"I'm kidding what can I do for you Itachi," Hiruzen said with a laugh, Itachi looked at him with a very annoyed expression.
"Lord Third I was wondering if I could train Naruto, he seems to have no ability to defend himself against these attacks and can only run, I would like to train him in whatever he has talent in," Itachi said looking at his leader for his decision, "Ah yes I knew this would happen at some point, I admit I have neglected him but I cannot do more with the council butting in, Itachi before anything I would like you to study Naruto, find where he is lacking whether it's malnourishment or he just needs training, I would also like you to create a plan for Naruto after studying what he needs," the Hokage said.
"Under no circumstances are you to train him until we both see improvement in his body, is that understood," Hiruzen said looking into Itachi's eyes, "Yes Lord Third, thank you," Itachi said, he was about to turn, and walk out the door but the Hokage wasnt done speaking.
"Oh and Itachi let's keep this between as few people as possible, we do not want the village to find out a shinobi is training him," Hiruzen added and soon went back to his paperwork, meanwhile Itachi left back home to figure out what he is going to do.
Hiruzen looked outside his window and saw a very familiar white-haired student of his, "Ah Jiraiya so good to see you, please come in," Hiruzen said, they both took a seat across from each other, "Why did you call me here Sensei, I'm a very busy person you know," Jiraiya said putting his feet up on the Hokage's desk.
"I'm afraid to say that Naruto has been through another one of this village Fox hunts," the Hokage said, Jiraiya wasn't too shocked, he knew they were never life-threatening, and that the boy would usually forget, "Is that all you called me here for?" Jiraiya asked, Hiruzen looked up at Jiraiya and grabbed some medical papers, "Just take a look at these," Hiruzen said handing the papers to his student.
Jiraiya read the first paper and was shocked that they did this to him, but after he read the second he was fuming, "What the hell! Who did this to him, they drugged him!" Jiraiya yelled, "Yes that's not all, Naruto remembered everything, I could see the look in his eye when he told me he felt everything, it was like what little joy he had was extinguished, Jiraiya this changed Naruto," Hiruzen said putting his hand to his head.
"I am guessing this means you want me to take Naruto with me as we discussed a few years ago?" he asked, he knew this day might come but not so fast, his work just keeps getting far more important for the village, to bring a child with him would slow down his work.
"No there is no need for that, Itachi Uchiha, the Anbu who saved Naruto has taken him under his wing," Hiruzen said, Jiraiya was surprised that a Uchiha would do that, especially the genius of the Uchiha, "So you don't want me to take him," Jiraiya asked, Hiruzen shook his head, "Well then I have business I need to do," Jiraiya said as he was about to leave through the window.
"Jiraiya you're going to have to be in your godson's life at some point or another," Hiruzen said sternly, Jiraiya looked down, "I know but I can't just yet," Jiraiya said and left.
'I guess Jiraiya is still dealing with the loss of his student,' Hiruzen thought, he knew how hard the loss of a student is.
2 weeks later
It had been 1 and a half weeks since Naruto was discharged from the hospital, he had gone home and did not leave for a few days, but when he did leave he was like a different person, he was indifferent towards the people of Konoha, whether it was kids or if it were the adults, he just didn't care, all these people were monsters to him, people that wanted to hurt him.
Once Naruto had started going out again Itachi started gathering information on him to create a plan so he could start training Naruto.
He first saw that his diet was usually Instant Raman and expired milk, he did not know why this was all he had, the money he gets from the Hokage per month should be more than enough for some good food.
He noticed that Naruto was severely malnourished, he was very thin and weak, he had already come up with a meal plan which at first would be to fatten him up a bit, get him bigger, and then eat high protein to maintain and gain muscle.
All he needs to do is give this to Naruto and tell him about his idea of training him.
