The following morning, Hansel and Gretel were out in the town dealing with the situation as a group of witches were walking around as it became clear they were looking for someone.
'The slut better be around here somewhere.' The leader said as she looked around at the town.
'Adreaus won't be happy when we bring her back.' One of her lieutenants said as she looked at her.
'Oh don't worry about what Adreaus thinks.' The leader said. 'Wait till I get my hands on that whore. I'll make her sorry she ever dared to run away.'
Hansel and Gretel were back at the inn as Charylisabella was asleep in one of the rooms as Gretel went to check on her as Charylisabella woke up when she heard the door open.
'What do you want from me?' She asked as Gretel noticed her trembling under the sheets as she kept them around her shoulders hiding more bruises on her shoulders and breasts.
'My brother and I wish you no harm.' Gretel said as she looked at Charylisabella. 'I am Gretel and my brother is Hansel.' She said as she looked at her. 'What's your name?'
'Why? Why do you want to know?' Charylisabella asked as there was a clear hint of fear in her voice. 'Are you a spy of them or a town official?'
'No, I am just a witch like you.' Gretel said gently as she tried to get closer to Charylisabella who pulled her knees up to her chest as Gretel sat down. 'I want you to know, my brother and I are not going to harm you, we are going to protect you from whoever you were running from.'
'How do I know that you are telling the truth?' Charylisabella asked as she looked at Gretel.
'Because I am speaking to you, witch to witch.' She said as she looked at her. 'Get some rest, I will go and fetch you some breakfast.'
