It has been a long while since I have touched this account! I have previously lost my password, you see. No matter, I have returned with a new fanfiction. This time, Transformers!
I have uploaded this identical Fanfiction on Archive of Our Own under the username Crowverlord, in case you saw it there first.
Anyways, enjoy!
"Do not lose the girl!"
"Waaay ahead of you!"
A robotic panther and hawk chased a girl through the night.
"Despite the fact that we were almost outclassed by a human tonight," the hawk smirked as she flew over and in front of the girl, "I think I will deem today's hunt quite fruitful."
"Yeah," the panther growled, prowling towards the girl, "the boss is going to reward us handsomely for handing over this goily! Hehe!"
"I don't intend on being 'handed over' to any 'boss' today," the girl declared.
"Feisty one, eh?" the panther mocked, "that's just gonna make this hunt all the messier, eh, Wingspan?"
"Indeed, Pounce," the bird responded, "I simply hope that our subject will remain recognizable when we complete our mission."
"I don't really care 'bout that," Pounce said, and true to his name, he pounced on the girl…
… or he would have, if it were not for a red race car knocking him into a tree.
"That altmode, that recklessness, that fixation towards me," Pounce was dazed as his paw rubbed his head, "I bet my lucky shanix it's that slaggin' Fastlane!"
"In the metal!" Fastlane, as the race car was called, shifted its parts around and assumed a humanoid form, "ready for a good declawing, el gato?"
"That can only mean that she is within proximity," Wingspan said as she took to the skies, before she was blasted by some type of bolt that caused her to be pinned by the ground, deemed immobile by her own weight, forcing her to transform and assume her robot mode, before unleashing a blaster at her target - a red-hued jet.
This red-hued jet froze for a while before being forced to shift to a humanoid form, plummeting to the ground. She quickly recovered, even if a little dazed.
"I better blast off again," the jet robot declared, before realising that she could not assume her jet mode.
"It will take quite a substantial amount of time before you can access your vehicle mode again," Wingspan smirked, "Cloudraker."
"I don't need a substantial amount of time to do this!" Cloudraker declared, delivering a punch towards Wingspan. The added gravity made the strike hurt oh so much. Wingspan, in turn, blew a punch back as well!
Fastlane unleashed strong blasts of sonic booms from generated weapons on his arms, but Pounce's great agility evaded each strike until he was able to pounce on him, causing the two to engage in melee combat, with Pounce transforming into his humanoid robot mode to slug a few good punches.
The entire fight devolved into the two pairs of twins delivering punch after kick at each other.
"Oh look, I'm light again," Wingspan said as she shifted to her bird form and prepared to take off, but not before Cloudraker unleashed a gravity blast at her.
Meanwhile, Fastlane was successful in creating a great distance between him and Pounce, allowing Cloudraker to unleash a second gravity blast at Pounce too.
This one's properties were different. Cloudraker, still in robot mode, began to hover mid-air while Pounce and Wingspan helplessly hovered around her at high speeds, as if she had an orbit.
"I am about to release the Energon I had consumed a few hours ago," Cloudraker declared, holding her wings to her beak.
"I hate this!" Pounce declared.
"Get ready, Fastlane," Cloudraker said, "on my mark, 3, 2, 1!"
With that, Cloudraker tossed the pair upwards into the air, before Fastlane unleashed a pair of sonic boom blasters at them, sending them flying even further into the stars.
"That was a good one," the red-hued twins said in unison as they clapped their hands together, "now where'd the human go?"
During all this, the girl was hiding behind some bushes, which Cloudraker quickly identified.
"Come on, it's alright human, we're not the bad guys," Fastlane says as he approached the girl, causing her to back away.
"Fastlane, she doesn't know the real difference between us and the Decepticons," Cloudraker placed a palm on her brother's shoulder, before reaching a finger out.
"You're not hurt, are you?" Cloudraker asked.
"Nothing I can't recover from by tomorrow," the girl said, "thanks for the concern, but I have to go before more of those guys come along."
"You mean Decepticons, right?" Fastlane asked, "how long have they been pursuing you?"
"It's been a few months. I can't be in one place for too long because they're sure to find me eventually," the girl says, "sometimes they send those two - the ones that call themselves 'Pounce' and 'Wingspan'. Other times it's these land droids. And at times big plane guys."
"Poor thing," Cloudraker says.
"Don't bring my financial situation into this," the girl scoffed, before her stomach growled.
"What's that sound?" Cloudraker panicked.
"It's no big deal," the girl replied, "it simply means I'm… well… low on fuel."
"Then we better pump you up with Energon! Or uh… human food I guess. We don't really have that."
"We'd like to help you in that regard, but…" Cloudraker ponders.
"You really want to help?" the girl asked, "you guys are super-powered robots, so maybe whatever I can do, you guys can do better."
"We can move a lot faster than you and lift things you can't," Fastlane boasted, "that's for sure."
"Good enough for me," the girl grins, "you guys got more… uh… ordinary weapons? Swords that just slash? Bullets that just shoot?"
"That's no fun," Fastlane frowned.
"Fastlane, just run with it," Cloudraker corrected, chopping her brother on the head.
"That boar - that's my target," the girl declared.
"So this is what it's like hunting turbofoxes all day," Fastlane said, before releasing a shot at a wild boar, only to miss as the creature let out a great squeal and started to run.
"How did you miss?" Cloudraker asked.
"My style is more 'wide range attack, 100% chance to hit'. I've never bothered with this level of accuracy," Fastlane replied.
"It's a big target," Cloudraker responded, "what are you, Misfire?"
"It's not that big, everything on this planet's pretty small," Fastlane replied.
He would be proven wrong as the boar ran for him, tackling him and sending him flying!
Cloudraker panicked for a second, before her instincts urged her to use her gravity rods to pin the hog down with the force of the Earth. Afterwards, she got a blade out and jabbed it in a vital area.
The girl, Fastlane and Cloudraker settled down around a fire as the enormous boar was being roasted over a fireplace.
"You two caught it, you should have some at least," the girl suggested.
"No thank you," Cloudraker replied, "we Cybertronians don't eat human food."
"So, what's your name, human?" Fastlane asked.
"Beatrice," she replied.
"Beatruck, Beatracker… Beatnick… I'm not too good with human names," Fastlane responds.
"You got the 'Beat' part down," she responded.
"Then I'll just call you Beat!" Fastlane said, "it's short for your real name, and it sounds like a Cybertronian name too."
"Cyber… tronian," Beat asked, "what's that?"
"People or things from Cybertron," Cloudraker affirmed, "that would be us."
"What country is that?"
"Country?" Fastlane said, "oh, it's not a country on Earth, it's another planet altogether! We're aliens!"
"You're telling me I'm having a close encounter of the third kind?" Beat was shocked.
"We're supposed to be Robots in Disguise," Cloudraker said, "our leader Optimus Prime told us that this planet isn't ready for alien contact."
"Oh right," Fastlane said, "we're supposed to pass ourselves off as machines."
"Pass yourselves off as machines? Robots in Disguise?" Beat questioned as she ate her pork, "are you guys mecha pilots or something?"
"Mecha pilots?" Fastlane said.
"I think she's asking if we're being controlled from the inside by something, much like the machines we are have assumed as altmodes," Cloudraker said, "and to that I say no, we're not. What you see is what you get, unless you count our internal circuits and whatnot - the equivalents of your internal organs."
"So if you're aliens," Beat asked, "what are you doing on another planet?"
"I'd like to be on Cybertron, living my days," Fastlane said, "but you know, there was this big war between us Autobots and them Decepticons. It even spread throughout a whole lot of colony worlds. My sister and I were still freshly sparked, but we had to fight for a home we only just started to know a few days ago. When Megatron lead a team of Decepticons to this planet, Optimus opted to follow. That's when our tough-hearted but loving mentor insisted that we join him while he stayed behind to fight on our home planet."
"Knowing him," Cloudraker added, "he knew that Cybertron was no longer safe for us, and wherever we were headed was a lot safer and a lot more forgiving."
"Hey, that logo on you guys," Beat mentioned.
"Oh, this one right here?" Fastlane said, "this emblem means that I'm Fastlane. Cloudraker has her own unique insignia too. It reminds our friends of who's who, since we're pretty identical."
"No, no, the other one," Beat corrected.
"The Autobot logo? What of it?" Cloudraker asked.
"I've seen it before. It has something to do with my dad," Beat said, showing the Autobots her shiny watch as she switched it on, revealing that exact symbol at the startup screen.
"Your dad… he knew Autobots?" Cloudraker asked.
"Maybe he was one!" Fastlane said.
"That's stupid, Fastlane," Cloudraker said, "her dad's clearly a human born on Earth. See, there's his hologram right there."
"Yeah," Beat responded, "that's the very last message he had for me before… before…"
She began to shed tears.
"Wha- why are you leaking," Fastlane asked.
"She's not in the mood to answer that," Cloudraker said.
"I- it's OK, it's been a while, I've gotten over it," Beat wiped her tears.
Cloudraker looked at the holographic man being projected on the watch. "Your father, is he famous?"
"He appeared on TV a few times, and has some scientific documents to his name," Beat responded.
"Never heard of this guy before," Fastlane replied.
"I think we know someone who has," Cloudraker said, "why not we all take a little trip back to base?"
Cloudraker dialed her communicator.
"Yo, Push-Button! Think you could be a dear and open a Groundbridge near our coordinates? Thanks."
With that brief conversation, a portal appeared near the group.
"Well, time to go," Fastlane said, "I'll bring the pig along so that you can finish it at base."
"Wait, what's that?" Beat asked.
"That's a Groundbridge," Cloudraker explained, "it's basically like a Spacebridge but on the ground. While a Spacebridge connects any two points in the galaxy, a Groundbridge does the same… except it's limited to a planet."
"So that thing over there let's you go anywhere on Earth, huh," Beat questioned, "convenient."
The three of them entered.
"Fastlane! Cloudraker! You're back!" a white robot with lime and orange markings greeted them, "and you… is that a human?"
"Yeah, it's a human," Fastlane said.
"Do my vocal receptors deceive me?" a voice boomed as another, bigger white robot with red markings walked into the scene, "Optimus will not be pleased with this."
"We have a perfectly valid reason," Cloudraker assured.
"Might you enlighten me with this… 'perfectly valid reason'?"
A kind yet stern voice boomed as great footsteps sounded. The greatest of these giant automatons - noted by a mix of red and blue on his body - stepped forward.
"Oh, Optimus," Fastlane scratched his head, "Beat here has uh… something. Beat, do the thing."
Beat did as told, revealing her watch as it started up with an Autobot logo, before revealing the hologram of her father.
"I believe you guys are connected to my late father somehow."
Optimus, as he was called, kneeled down to have a better look.
"I see," he said, before turning to Fastlane and Cloudraker, "I would like a report of your mission soon. I believe it will help us understand the context in which you found her."
Meanwhile, somewhere else…
"You fools! You absolute buffoons! You scrapbrained scrapheaps! How is it possible that you have time and again lost the human!?"
A large, bucketheaded greyish robot towered over Pounce and Wingspan as they groveled in front of him.
"We're sorry, boss, but this time, we got a real valid reason!" Pounce pleaded.
"You said that all those other times! Explain why I should not extract your Sparks and seal them away!"
"It is true, my liege," Wingspan added, "unlike our prior encounters, we truly were close to getting ahold of her. The conditions were aligned and the chance to strike was perfect - until those Autobots got in our way."
"So the Autobots finally interfere?" the bucketheaded leader laughed most maniacally.
"B- boss," Pounce questioned, "ya doin' good?"
"Oh, 'good' is an understatement," the 'boss' stood up, "rise up. I am looking forward to meeting Optimus Prime and his crew very soon. We have much to settle, after all."
