Held in a small room the three where gathered around a make shift table as Luke used the Sonic Lipstick to repair the shield device. Sky sat quietly as she wondered and pondered about the small room.
"Why do you hate your intelligence?" asked Sarah Jane "It's a fantastic gift you have, look what it can do." she made a gesture to the work he was doing.
"Ridicule." Luke replied "Everywhere I go, I get ridicule for being smarter then other people."
"You shouldn't let that get to you."
"Well it can, and there is no way to get rid of my intelligence."
Sarah Jane looked at him, unable to read his blank burlap face.
"It's all done." he said handing them back over to Sarah Jane.
Looking it over Sarah Jane pocketed the devices and went back to the door, Luke and Sky joined her.
"What do we next?" asked Luke "We can't just walk out there and wander past them."
"We can't just stay I here." Rebuttaled Sarah Jane.
In an instant she whipped out the sonic lipstick and zapped the door, it opened with a swoosh in to an empty corridor. Poking her head out Sarah Jane spotted nothing in either direction, then she turned back in to the room.
"Come on." she called in a whisper, calling them over with her hand.
Sky came running out and joined her mother wile Luke was hesitant, but reluctantly joined them.
Stepping away they moved though some more part's of the ship, winding their way though. As they came down a hall and in to a lager area where a Cyberman was working on a control panel.
"Okay, we need to sneak past that Cyberman." said Sarah Jane.
"That's going to be difficult, why can't we just." started Luke.
Sky's screams cut them off, as they sound of more Cyberman came form behind, looking back they saw one was holding Sky and two more came to hold Sarah Jane and Luke. Try as they might they where unable to escape the Cyberman's grip.
The one at the panel came over "This one will upgraded." they said looking at Sarah Jane. "The system is not collaborated for the others. Store them until the system is ready."
"Acknowledged." the others replied.
"MUM!" screamed Sky as she and Luke where separated form Sarah Jane.
"Don't worry." Sarah Jane called. "I'll save you."
Sarah Jane was carried over towards a near by conversation chamber, wile Sky and Luke where carried away.
The Cybermen forced the pair in to a storage room where empty husk's and reject Cybermen where located. Many where strung up on racks like clothes, others lay on operating tables. After being forced in the door was closed behind them and locked, Sky made for the door and tired to get out shaking it to no end, before turning to Luke as he looked at her though his eye holes.
"We have to help her." she pleaded.
"How?" asked Luke "Where in a room of shells, and you're a child and I'm a Scarecrow."
"No, we have our own abilities, your super smart, and I have this." she said as she put her hand towards a exposed panel and fixed and ruptured connection.
Lights came on and showed there was more in the room then they thought.
Sarah Jane had been clamped in as the boots, legs, hand, arms and torso where fitted on around her. The panic and fear screamed out as she refused and tried to avoid the face mask being placed on her head sealing the deal.
"Fear, will be removed, all emotions will be gone." said the Cyberman "You will become uniform, you will become like us."
As the helmet was being put up chaos erupted as laser blasts came out and the power to the upgrading station went down. Luke came out with a arm mounted Cyberman gun on his wrist, Sky had her hands to the walls diverting power, as a Cyberman came over and deleted the opposing Cyberman.
With the power diverted away form the system the helmet froze in place and Sky raced over to help her mother. Luke and other Cyberman looked on watching her as she tried to removed the shell.
Looking back she screamed at the others "Help me."
Luke came over and looked at the console, but the Cyberman pushed him aside and reversed the process freeing Sarah Jane. As the casing came off she leapt in to Sky's arms and held her tight, letting tears roll down her face she soon turned to Luke and her mind changed him in to her eldest.
But that was shattered when "Your okay, they should have not been able to start with out your body being fully submerged."
"Thank you." said Sarah Jane, as she stood up.
"We should leave it's dangerous here." said the Cyberman. "I can show you the way out."
"That'll be a good idea." agreed Luke.
The four made a quick escape as they moved though the ship.
As they scurried about questions began to move to the forefront of every one's mind.
"Sky, who is this?" asked Sarah Jane.
"This is Rani." beamed Sky "We found her."
"You found her." said Luke.
"But you helped me to reboot her."
"Where did you find her?" asked Sarah Jane.
Luke stopped and Rani was forced to pull Sarah Jane back as a Cyberman walked past.
"That was close." sighed Luke.
"We have to get you out of her." said Rani.
"Aren't you coming with us?" asked Sarah Jane.
"I have no need too." insisted Rani. "Come on."
Sarah Jane decided to stay at the back as Rani led the charge with Luke in a close second, with Sky at the back questions would be answered.
"So, what happened. How did you and Luke find Rani."
"Well." started Sky.
Back in the room, the lights had just been turned on, and the light had shown both Sky and Luke how big the room truly was. Growing out and backwards they where in fact inside a cargo hold, large Cyber creates where abound and along with many shells waiting for users.
"What have you discovered?" asked Luke, looking at what they uncovered.
"I don't know. Lets find out." said sky racing off.
Wondering off Sky found her self enthroned with everything around her, and she found her self exploring more and more. Out of nowhere something caught her of guard, seeing it's cold lifeless eyes and stiff hard exterior, all she could was panic. The air left her body in ear shattering scream, Luke was harked over by this shrill call and found Sky looking down the face of a shut down Cyberman. Trying to calm her down Luke held her but the longer he looked it the more that he saw it was not like the others.
"It's shut down." said Luke.
"Sky, help me boot up some." he looked back to see her still cowering. "They aren't working, and more likely they're here for a reason, know can you help me do this, and by doing so help Sarah Jane."
Sky still unsure, sheepishly moved over towards a power panel and rerouted power towards the Cyberman. As the power was rerouted the Cyberman woke with a gasp as coming back to life, waking up Sky bounded back only to see they where not like the others.
"It's okay." said Rani. "I'm not going to hurt you." She then turned to Luke "Why did you boot me up, I was fine being dead."
"We need your help." said Luke "One of the party has been taken, and we need to save her."
"Fine." they grunted.
As they got up Luke noticed a set of spare parts near by, along side a set of tools, looking over it he found a wrist gun with the outer rim of the arm.
"Do you have a name?" asked Sky.
"Yes, we all used to have names?" Rani replied.
"So, does that mean you still have one."
"Yes, my name is Rani, can I can not stand to hear what is going on out there, so please hurry up Scarecrow"
Luke spun around slipping the wrist gun on. "Then lets go."
They made a quick departure but Luke make a quick grab for the tools.
Back in the halls Sarah Jane was still going over the details in her own mind, they had made great strides in their movement though the ship. More Cybermen lay dead as they stepped over them, the halls finned out giving way to more rocky terrain.
"Where are we going?" asked Luke.
"As far as we can go before hitting the planet surface." explained Rani.
"We need to learn to trust her." interjected Sarah Jane.
"I know, but surely we could have found a quicker exit by know." reasoned Luke.
"Look, I can't do nothing knowing what will happen to you, so let me do this then go back to being powered down!" argued Rani.
"But why?" asked Sarah Jane. "Why do you want to be powered down? Why would you want that."
"Because, I can feel." she seethed. "I can feel, I can feel everything that was done to me and feel for everyone else."
"How, who would do such a thing to you?" asked Sky.
"The Doctor of Oz. He strolled up one day and thought to himself that he can fix us all, and gave me a heart. Now I can no longer live with this, with all these feelings harking at me."
"I know how you feel." chimed in Luke "The Doctor gave me my brain, my ability for intelligence."
"Look, both of you have been given a gift, that makes you who you are."
"Now, they make us hate who we are." said Rani and she carried on though the ship.
Moving further though the ship they soon moved away from the ships hall towards the a small rocky cave tunnel. The walls kept thinning making it smaller making them walk in single file.
"Were are we going?" asked Sky.
"To the exit." said Rani.
"As long as it's far away form them." said Luke.
"Is it safe down here?" wondered Sarah Jane.
"Safer then back there." reasoned Rani.
As they made their way down they came to a stop at the end Rani who was leading the charge was now at the foot of a ladder.
"Why have we stopped?" asked Sarah Jane, as she looked back.
"Don't worry, we just needs to go up, but I can't be sure if it's safe." called back Rani.
"Mum I'm scared." worried Sky.
"Don't be, everything is going to be okay." she said as he held her.
Soon the sound of thumbing boots echoed in the distance.
"Rani a little speed would be greatly appreciated."
Rani looked back and split hair decision chose to climb up slowly checking each rung as she went, allowing Luke to follow.
As more and more they climbed soon Luke and Rani where at a good hight and Sarah Jane was helping Sky up, when a laser blast shot past her head. Jumping in panic she shot around and saw that a Cyberman was making a fast approach towards them.
"Do not be alarmed, you will be assimilated." he spoke.
Sarah Jane turned back to try and climb up, and crowded the ladder.
"Can you please hurry up!" she begged calling up to them as tears rolled down her eyes.
Speeding up they hurried up but the Cyberman was ounce again upon them as Sarah Jane started her climb. As she franticly tried to gain height, a hand came out and grabbed her leg and tried to pull her down. Sarah Jane screamed as she gripped the ladder for dear life.
"MUM!" screamed Sky.
"Don't shot you might hurt her." feared Rani.
"Do you have better idea?" chimed in Luke and aimed down holding his writs mount.
"Help." called Sarah Jane.
Firing one shot was all it took, the Cyberman was hit and Sarah Jane kicked it away as the others began to speed up their ascent.
