A/N: Not my best work, but I'm getting close to the deadline and don't have the mental energy to get anything better... XP

Prompt: Contronyms are words that are their own antonyms. Choose one from the list here (or find one you like) and use both its meanings in your work. I chose the word fast.

"They're fast," Peter remarked to Edmund as he stood watching the soldiers training in the bright field below the window.

Edmund hummed in acknowledgement as he continued examining the swords on the wall. Peter didn't quite understand the fascination he had with them; they were just swords. Old ones, at that.

Suddenly a clatter interrupted his thoughts and Peter whirled around. Edmund's face was more startled than it had been since they'd arrived in Narnia. The fifth sword joined the four others on the ground, and the racket died away in the echoing corners of the room.

"What happened?" Peter demanded, bending to pick up one of the blades.

"I- you said they were fast!"

"What?"

"You said they were fast!"

"The soldiers were…." Peter smothered a laugh. "I didn't mean the swords."

Edmund groaned as footsteps sounded in front of the door. "Perfect."
