Chapter 13
Our reunited friends had returned to the village to encounter the trolls and the rest of their team, which had been spending their time there chatting, upon their lunch was finished. Una upon seeing her daughter arrive along with Kai and Rollan, she ran towards Kai to hug him tightly.
"My baby," Commented the brunette, then placed her hand under his chin to look at his eyes. "You're okay? You look so thin?" Questioned the mother making Alfida chuckle at the woman's question.
"Hola," Greeted Rollan, then heard three male voices yell making Rollan widen his eyes and see King Arrog race towards him along with two soldiers to pack the Spaniard. "Ahhhh!"
"Rollan!" Called Gerda in shock watching the trolls hold him tightly against the ice sled, while on top of the sled sat the Snow Queen looking at it confused, then felt the schadenfreude about their situation.
"Are all trolls like that?" Asked the confused prince looking at Orm, which shook his head, then whistled waiting for them to stop but they didn't.
"Uh anyone can whistle louder?" Questioned Orm watching Alfida shove her hand into her coat to pull out her gun and fire a bullet in the air to shriek the trolls around Rollan, then looked at the captain's direction.
"Hey killing him won't bring your home town back," Mentioned Alfida putting it back. "Also he knows he messed up back, despite his blurry memory from being taken by the Fire Demon,"
"I know all that from both Orm and Gerda. If I could change that in the past I would, but I can't sadly," Stated Rollan, then the Snow Queen stuck her staff between the four men to give Rollan some freedom.
"The Fire Demon can control people's mind and manipulate for his own good. Rollan fell into that and got convinced to keep his powers instead of returning them to the wishing stone. He's the master of manipulation and mind reading. No one of you would escape his claws just that easy, not as long as you're strong enough up here," Stated the Snow Queen pointing at the side of her head. The troll soldiers took their hands away from Rollan and Arrog glared at Rollan, still angered with, what happened in the past, thereafter Gerda placed her hand on his arm.
"Your majesty. He's not that, what you had seen in the past. I promise," Spoke Gerda watching Arrog look at Rollan.
"Your majesty….If that makes us even, I can work off at your kingdom the amount of days you need for me to be pardoned. If this is possible," Suggested Rollan watching Arrog shake his head.
"What's the point? You don't remember anything, why should the punishment be valid?"
"Maybe, because of your people?" Suggested Rollan watching Arrog shake his head.
"I don't think they do even know you…..but I think there is something I could suggest you instead," Commented Arrog watching Rollan look at Gerda, which shrugged his shoulders. "You're joining this fight with the others, right?"
"Si,"
"Good. If you fight and survive, I consider you pardoned by my order," Offered Arrog. "In such a situation like the one we have now, it's a decent idea,"
"I actually would like that," Responded Rollan making the king nod and shove Rollan against Gerda's arms.
"Good, you'll be in the hands of General Gerda," King Arrog watching Gerda help Rollan to his feet, which smiled at the fiancé, which mirrored him back.
"Talking about punishments….Rollan landed for a few hours in prison for having tried to convince a king that arranged weddings aren't good," Commented Alfida making Rollan scratch the back of his neck.
"I could have waited a little or ask Alfida or Kai for their opinion. But Alfida lied us out of there," Complimented Rollan looking at his captain, which bowed down.
"We met the royal Larsson family from Sweden. Their king doesn't look as helpful as King Harald once described. His son on the other hand is good," Commented Alfida. "Despite all that, they have saved our lives and taken us out from the water,"
"So you guys were really hit by a storm?" Questioned Gerda making Alfida nod, while Rollan sank his head remembering the night.
"It's all because I had a brain block from remembering my father had died on the sea years ago," Commented Rollan, then Gerda patted him on his shoulder to assure he was good.
"Gerda, you could have told me in private about Rollan's issue. I had no idea about that. Mostly, that he would be with us on the sea more often,"
"I promised him to keep it for myself. I had never expected this would make him fail with anything," Commented Gerda.
"Well, I won't tell you, that it's his fault. The storm was pretty strong. We could have failed as well if Rollan didn't have the problem. Can't blame him for the loss of our money,"
"Or the books I found," Added Rollan making Alfida nod and Gerda look at the fiancé questioningly.
"What books?" Questioned the blonde earning Rollan's look.
"You know I found two interesting books related to the Snow Queen. One of them was about you defeating her," Commented Rollan with a little smile.
"What about the other one?" Questioned Gerda.
"Hmm I don't remember the full book, but it was about the Snow Queen and the Lake Gao. Snow King, one of the villains Gerda defeated years ago was locked down in Lake Gao. Somehow he was able to produce spirits by himself," Mentioned Rollan.
"Lake Gao had from us our DNA and the Snow King used the DNA to make spirits with our faces. I saw one with Kai already," Commented Gerda making Kai wide his eyes.
"Is that bad?" Questioned Kai making Gerda shrug her shoulders, then look up at the Snow Queen, which shook her head.
"No. The only bad thing would be, if you would believe one of these spirits was the person you knew well," Commented the Snow Queen.
"At the moment, most of the spirits have been defeated. I think we should return to my place and make sure the spirits are really gone,"
"What about the villages and their habitats?" Questioned Gerda. "Shouldn't we unfreeze them all first?"
"Yes, just the problem is, I can't unfreeze all at once. The spirits did froze everything one by one," Responded the Snow Queen. "The fastest way would be to defeat the Snow King and its minions,"
"Really?" Asked Gerda curious.
"Is that easy?" Questioned Kai watching the Snow Queen move her hand to state it was manageable.
"How do we solve this?" Questioned Alfida. "Don't we have to go into the lake?"
"No, we have to let him out of the seal. It's just very risky," Stated the Snow Queen making Kai gulp.
"We're around twenty. We have a good chance," Stated Arrog confidently making the Snow Queen grin amused.
"Did your swords really split up any of the spirits you have came across?" Questioned the blue-skinned woman watching the troll lose his smile, then shake his head.
"Right…...our weapons can't do anything," Admitted the king and looked at his soldiers. "There goes our chance to fight alongside our friends again,"
"We still have the ice cannon," Commented one of the soldiers, then the Snow Queen had an idea and looked at the young adults, then had eye contact with the Spaniard.
"Rollan, what would you wear, if you would go to a war like this?" Questioned the Snow Queen watching Rollan ponder for a few seconds.
"A sword, of course, a shield and a head protector thing," Responded Rollan.
"A helmet, you mean?" Asked Gerda making Rollan nod.
"Si," Responded Rollan, then noticed the Snow Queen use her hands to use her magic on Rollan, which looked at it astonished and watched something on his hand appear, which was a sword. Rollan smiled amazed by it, then saw on his other hand a shield appear and Rollan grabbed it by his handle, then felt above his head a helmet got placed with large horns on it.
"Wow! How did you know my zodiac was a bull?" Questioned Rollan looking at the Snow Queen.
"I didn't I just thought it would look ridiculous," Commented the Snow Queen watching Kai grab Rollan by the horn.
"This reminds me of the legend of Loki," Commented Kai earning a nod from Gerda. "Kind of cool,"
"The horns kind of fit him. He's usually the type of man, that takes the bull by the horn," Commented Alfida making Kai nod.
"I'm flattered. Get prepared, you're next," Offered the Snow Queen looking at Kai and Alfida exchange looks wondering, who she meant.
