The Great Secret World of Chipmunks

In this story, Dave, the chipmunk's caretaker, receives a job offer that could turn his life upside down. The 6 chipmunks are sharing a home again, months after the events of "The Road Chip". Being on vacation from school, their lives seemed to be calmer and perfect..., until they received an invitation from an old friend of the girls, inviting them to a mysterious "new world".

It was a random afternoon at Dave and his Chipmunks' house. The boys and girls were playing and having fun in the corridors while Dave was quietly working on his computer in the living room.

- Dave! Alvin's taken my toothbrush. - Said Brittany with a slight tone of fury.

- Alvin! - Said Dave with a tone of anguish that Alvin was used to.

A few seconds later, Dave hears the desk phone next to him ring.

- Good afternoon? - Dave didn't know who it could be. He had a brief conversation with the mysterious person on the phone, until he changed his expression from serious to enthusiastic, and Theodore peeked through the door to see what was going on.

- Can I call you back? For me... - Dave was interrupted by a voice saying that it was fine, saying he had as much time as he needed.

- Okay, thanks. - Dave hangs up the phone, squints slightly and notices a little ball of fur next to the door.

- Theodore?

- Who were you talking to?

- Ahn... (Dave doesn't know how to reveal this to his children), Theodore, can you go and get the others?

- Of course, Dave. - Theo withdraws from the conversation and gathers all his brothers and the Chipettes in the main room of the house.

- What is it, Dave? - Simon says curiously, as do the others.

- ... Guys, I've been offered a job. - All the Chipmunks are delighted with the news.

- Congratulations! - Says Theodore

- That's wonderful, Dave! - Says Eleanor

- At last, Dad! - Says Alvin

- Yeah, a record company heard my first songs, the ones I record even before I met you. So, they asked me to help produce some records. -

- That's great! - Says Brittany

- That's it! Well done Dave. - Says Alvin

Jeanette notices Dave's lack of excitement. - But you don't look too happy.

- So... it turns out that the record company is a bit far from here.

- A bit far, like: across town or in another country? - Says Brittany curiously

- It's in Washington.

- Washington? - Says Simon in amazement

- Ahh, I think we've done a show there - Says Jeannete.

- And you're going to accept, right Dave? - Says Brittany

- Alvin! - Reacts Dave with a slight tone of anger.

- Look, we could try to find somewhere to play a gig like before, then you won't have to leave. - Eleanor suggests

- I understand Eleanor, but I've been out of work for almost a year, and I don't want you to support the house, you're children.

- But that's not a problem for us, is it, girls? - Eleanor says again

- Yeah, it's quite common for the girls at our school to go looking for work during the summer. - Says Brittany

- Yeah, and we won't have to stay with your mother. - Says Alvin

- What's wrong with my mom? - Says Dave, at odds with Alvin's words.

A light discussion breaks out among the Chipmunks, where they are all talking at the same time about solutions for Dave.

- People! - says Jeanette, making everyone stop talking. - I know it's bad to be without Dave and his mother can sometimes be too clingy (Dave reacts confusedly to this comment), but it's his dream, Dave has always wanted to work in music, and even though he might have to leave, we should support him.

Jeanette's speech makes the Chipmunks quiet down and agree slightly with her arguments.

- Thanks Jeanette, but guys, I don't even know if I'm going yet.

- You have to go, it's your dream! - Jeanette says again

- I think she's right, we're thinking too much about ourselves and not enough about Dave. - Says Simon

- Yeah... maybe he should seize the opportunity. - Says Brittany

- Yeah, go on Dave! - Says Eleanor

Theodore is a little crestfallen, but he understands that it's the right thing to do. - I'll miss you, Dave. - He runs to hug Dave, the other Chipmunks, except Alvin, all jump into Dave's lap, who doesn't know how to hug them all at once.

- Alvin? - Dave asks

- Well, as much as I hate it when you leave, you're a single, unemployed men who hasn't left the house in months.

- Hey! Don't overdo it either. - Says Dave

Dave is delighted with his son's encouragement. - Thanks Alvin. - They both look at each other smiling. - Well, I'm going to... pay the bills and think about what I'm going to do. - Dave says, trying to get out of his armchair. The Chipmunks jump out of his lap and look happily and hopefully at Dave on the table.

Dave goes to the mailbox outside his home, and starts looking through letter after letter. In the middle of his overdue bills, he finds some fan letters from The Chipettes and the chipmunk's band (most of them from the chipmunks).

- What are you doing? - Jeanette asks when she sees Brittany stalking Dave's future workplace on the family cell phone.

- I'm looking for pictures of the record label, I want to see what kind of clothes will make Dave look modern.

- Would you go there if it were you? - Theodore asks Eleanor about the subject that is perpetuating in Dave's head.

- Of course! It would be quite an adventure.

- Yeah, but what if you had to stay away from your sisters?

- Well, then I'd have to think about it…

- It's going to be strange without Dave again, isn't it, Alvin? - Simon says

- Oh, he loves us, I don't think it'll take him that long to come back.

- Alvin, he's going to Washington, which is almost 4,000 kilometers from here.

- That's what you think. - Says Alvin convinced, as always, that he was right, making Simon angry. - But seriously, I don't think we ever gone more than... 1 month without seeing Dave.

The boys and girls approach the letters, the Chipmunks go to a corner of the room to read the letters left for them and the girls do the same.

- Seriously! - says Alvin, indignant at the contents of the letter.

- What? - Simon asks curiously.

Alvin begins to read the contents of the letter with a childish expression and voice.

I love you and your music, Theodore is cute (Theodore laughs slightly at the comment)

Come on, how old is this thing? 5?

- I liked it. - says Theodore, still amazed by the compliment.

- Calm down, Alvin, a fan is a fan. - Says Simon, trying to defend the poor boy who wrote the letter.

- AAHHH! - The Chipettes scream with joy after one of the letters they read.

- Oh my God! - Jeanette says.

- Girls! - Says Brittany.

- I can't believe it! - Says Eleanor. The girls hug each other, jumping up and down.

- Looks like you got a better letter than us. - Says Alvin.

- I think so. - Says Theodore.

- Guys, do you know who this letter is from?! - Says Brittany, eager to answer.

- From whom? - Alvin and Simon say together.

- From Sebastian! AAHHHH! - The girls shout again, which leaves the Chipmunks still confused.

- And... who is this Sebastian? - Simon asks

- Sebastian is a cousin of ours that we haven't seen for years! - Jeanette replies.

- Yes, since our tree days. - Eleanor adds.

- "So?" - says Alvin, still uninterested.

Brittany clears her throat and begins to read the contents of the letter:

- "Greetings my gracious cousins Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor

I have heard rumors of your resounding fame in the human world, and I am so sumptuous (Alvin and Theodore are confused by such vocabulary), and I and our companions would be honored to receive the presence of you and your colleagues in your dwelling

(P.S.: Come without any humans present)"

- But how do you know this isn't a scam or something? - Says Simon

- No one knows Sebastian but us. - Brittany replies confidently.

- Yeah, and he's the only person in the 21st century who still talks like that. - Eleanor adds again.

- And we're going after him? - Alvin asks.

- Well, I guess so, huh? - says Brittany, looking at her sisters and trying to find some kind of expression in them.

- Wait, guys, isn't that the address of the house next door? - Jeanette says thoughtfully

- Oh my God, I think so! - Eleanor says even more excitedly

- Okay, let's go! - Says Brittany, excited to see her cousin again. The girls run out the front door and the Chipmunks, still a little confused, decide to follow them.

Just as the Chipmunks arrive in the backyard of their neighbor's house, they come across a miniature zeppelin, clearly made for Chipmunks, and are amazed. A blond, blue-eyed Chipmunk, wearing a white and gold suit and between the height of Alvin and Simon, steps out of the zeppelin and greets the girls.

- Cousins? - says the pompous Chipmunk with a smile on his face.

The girls are so impressed and happy that they lose their voices for a moment. - Sebastian! - say the Chipmunk girls. They run up and hug him.

- Are you all right? Haha - Sebastian asks happily.

- Where have you been? - Jeanette asks.

- We thought we'd never see you again! - Eleanor says.

- And what kind of big plane is that? - Brittany asks, referring to the zeppelin, impressed.

- I think it's a zeppelin. - Says Simon, trying to join in the conversation.

- I promise all your questions will be answered soon. - Said Sebastian. - Oh, forgive my rudeness. - He approaches the Chipmunks while the girls stare at his airship. - My name is Sebastian, I'm the girls' cousin, it's a great pleasure to meet you. - Sebastian shakes hands with each of them.

- Man, you've got a better suit than any outfit I've ever owned and you smell like vanilla. - Says Alvin, slightly indignant.

- Hmm, true. - Says Theodore after only just realizing it.

- How come I've never heard of you before? Are you some kind of secret famous Chipmunk or something? - Asks Alvin in confusion.

- Ah, sort of. - Rebuts Sebastian.

- Look girls! Everything here is our size. - Says Eleanor to her sisters after having entered the zeppelin without permission.

- Oh finally we won't feel tiny next to something. - Says Jeanette.

- Oh, you haven't seen anything yet, you'll be amazed when you see my house. - Says Sebastian with a slight bragging tone.

- Guys, I don't know if this is such a good idea. - Simon says quietly to his brothers.

- Why? He seems nice. - says Theodore, smiling.

- We hardly know him, and he called the girls and not us. - Simon replies

- Yeah, he can't be all that. - Says Alvin "checking out" Sebastian

- Just for your information, I'm listening in, and I earn 20,000 a month. - Says Sebastian, butting in.

- Oops, I'm all yours, you can take me wherever you want. - Says Alvin, interested.

- Me too. - Says Brittany.

- Shall we go? - Sebastian asks.

- Then please, ladies and gentlemen. - says Sebastian politely.

- Can't you just call me Alvin? It sounds less ridiculous. - Says Alvin.

- All right, ladies, gentlemen, and Alvin, please get on my zeppelin. - Sebastian invites.

They all get into the vehicle in order and marvel at the luxury. Sebastian is the last to get in.

- I insist, make yourselves at home. We have bathrooms with whirlpools in the back, and there's the kitchen and the soda and candy machines.

- Hey, I'm going to the Jacuzzi, I said it first! - Says Alvin, running off to the toilets.

- Me too! - Says Brittany doing the same thing.

- Hm, I wonder what the food tastes like in this place? Is it like airplane food? - says Theodore, curious.

- Shall we find out? - Asks Eleanor pretentiously.

- Let's find out! - Theodore replies. Soon the two of them rush off to the kitchen.

Jeanette and Simon continue to admire everything, still not quite sure what they want to do. Sebastian goes into the cockpit, and they both decide to follow him.

Sebastian has his hands on the wheel and is ready to take off.

- Can you drive? - Jeanette asks.

- Of course, I can even drive a helicopter. - says Sebastian.

- Oh my God! - Jeanette says even more shocked.

- But where did you learn to do these things? - Simon asks, still full of questions.

- Simon, where do you think you came from? - Sebastian asks Simon.

- Huh? Well, technically from my mother. - Simon replies, still confused.

- And where does your mother live? - Sebastian asks.

- Oh, I haven't seen her for years, but I'd guess in a tree somewhere. - Simon replies

- Yeah, you don't know anything. - Says Sebastian.

- Stop the suspense Sebastian, I'm getting nervous. - Says Jeanette with a nervous smile at the corner of her mouth.

- Okay, we're here. - Says Sebastian.

Jeanette and Simon look up at the window and can hardly believe their eyes…

It was simply a modern civilization, extremely similar to that of their human acquaintances, but all who lived there were…

Chipmunks! Who could speak, wore clothes and had human habits. When they saw it, they didn't even know what to say, they were stunned.

The 6 of them looked through the door of the zeppelin for the first time and seconds later everyone was greeted with euphoric and eloquent shouts of joy. The chipmunks were not only amazed by all those civilized Chipmunks, but also by the whole city where they lived, everything was so beautiful and modern, the Chipmunks even had cell phones, which they were using to record the arrival of the famous chipmunks from the human world.

- Cool! - Alvin says when he sees all the excitement. He is the first to get down and sign autographs and hug his fans. Soon the other Chipmunks follow suit and join in the applause.

Until a full carriage passes through the city streets and momentarily stops all the noise. A beautiful female Chipmunk, with long wavy blonde hair, a crown and a dress of extreme elegance, steps out of the carriage, and everyone in the town, except the newcomers who didn't know anything, bows.

- Ha, gang, I told you you didn't have to do that. - Says that humorous female Chipmunk.

The town then apologizes. The Chipmunk discreetly accepts and goes over to the famous chipmunks who have arrived.

- You must be: Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor, correct?

- "Yes!" replied Simon, Jeanette, Theodore and Eleanor.

- Oh my, I love your outfit! - Says Brittany, delighted.

- Thank you. I think I owe you an introduction: I'm Agatha Christine Gohan II, popularly known as Queen Agatha.

- But are you, like, a real queen? - Jeanette asks.

- Well, yeah... I'm sorry, I didn't know, guys, please bow. - Says Simon nervously and quickly bending down to bow, most of the chipmunks do the same.

- What's bowing again? - asks Theodore, still standing confused.

- Haha, there's no need to worry, guys, and yes, I am the great administrator of the Chipmunk world. - Says Agatha.

- Ah, so you mean the starlings have arrived? - Says a Chipmunk who has just appeared in the middle of the audience, which, by the way, is impressed by his presence.

- What are you doing here? - says Agatha in a direct and rude manner.

- Nothing, I just came to say welcome. Welcome! - Says the mysterious chipmunk.

- There's always a troublemaker, isn't there? Haha. - Says Eleanor, trying to blend in.

- Ah, we will. - Alvin says pretentiously.

- Thank you for having us. - Says Simon, bowing again.

- Well, have a great time here. Everyone, you can give them your attention now. - Says the queen as she leaves. Soon the city's Chipmunks come running up to the Chipmunks, hugging them, asking for autographs, sometimes even asking for kisses.

Over time, the Chipettes and the Chipmunks have moved away from each other in order to serve more people. Alvin and Brittany are standing relatively close to each other, signing autographs and greeting fans near a coffee shop. Meanwhile, four chipmunks look on from inside the cafe.

- Wow, people are agitated, huh? - says Little Johnny, one of the Chipmunks in the group.

- Ahh, those Chipmunks are disgusting! - Says Amy.

- I don't know why they're so famous, that Alvin thinks he's too much. - Says Chris.

- Come on people, I've lost my hunger. - Says Amy, leaving the rest of the food behind. The others in the group get a little lost, but soon leave their meals behind and follow their friend.

- Thank you so much! - Says Brittany after receiving a few compliments from two fans. Soon Alvin, who had also just been talking to fans, comments on Brittany.

- Man, these people are such fans of ours! - Alvin says after so much applause.

- I've missed being famous. - Says Brittany, overjoyed.

- Oh, can you believe a girl had me sign her tail? - Says Alvin, until he is interrupted by the arrival of other 4 chipmunks.

- Hi, you're Alvin and Brittany, right? - Amy asks with a tone of mockery.

- We are. - Brittany replies confidently.

- And you must be feeling pretty good, huh? With everyone paying attention to you. - Says Amy, again with a tone of mockery.

- Of course, we're good at what we do. - Brittany replies, again with confidence.

Little Johnny laughs at her answer.

- I don't understand what's so funny. - Says Brittany in a more serious tone.

- I'll explain: You're only famous here because you broke the rules, and because you're the first singing chipmunks from another place, so you think you're the best with the little talent you have. - Says Amy.

- How's that? - Says Alvin, already losing patience.

We're the most famous band in this place, we can compose, we play guitar, flute, piano, violin, keyboard, drums, guitar, (Alvin and Brittany try to disguise the fact that they're impressed by every word Amy says) we sing..., what about you? What do you do apart from low-quality covers? - says Amy, amusing herself with her tasteless comments, which makes Alvin and Brittany even angrier.

- Ahh, don't hold me back Brittany, don't hold me back! - Says Alvin, meaning that he was trying to keep control.

- I'm not. - Says Brittany.

- Then hold on. - Says Alvin again.

- Look, if they think they're so good, how about a battle of the bands? - Suggests Rosy Anne, trying to control the situation.

- Fine, we'll finish you off in two seconds! - Says Alvin, sure of himself. - "Okay," replies Brittany to the band she's just met.

- "All right then: Blue Moon stage, 8 o'clock, and don't forget to bring your pacifiers, you'll need them. - Says Chris, trying to intimidate.

- Really, do you think I'll be offended by that? - says Alvin with a slight laugh.

- Yeah, what a load of crap, eh Chris? - Says Little Johnny.

- Ah, let's go. - Says Chris, cutting the subject.

The four of them walk away from Brittany and Alvin, pompous and audacious, Alvin and Brittany look at them frowning, until Brittany gives herself a worried look about what she's just gotten herself into.
