Episode 1: Vigilante
Hey there guys, gals, and non binary pals! Tardispilot297 here bringing you the first episode of Mega-Man: Robotic Hero 3! Hope you guys have been looking forward to this. (I know at least some of you have.) Anyway this season is going to be huge and exciting with a slew of new characters debuting and a few old characters returning. As well as a number of series easter eggs that I'm sure a good number of fans are going to geek out over! Anyway without further ado, LET'S JACK IN!
(Silicon City, Day)
The story which you are about to read is one so incredible, so extraordinary, so unbelievably fantastic you'd never think any of it actually happened. But it did. Of course I doubt a whole lot of people will ever know the full details to the story that wasn't covered by the news broadcasts, internet forums, or even the tabloid magazines. Then again, there's some stories that are better left told in secret. However this is a story that I have chosen to share with all of you. And who am I you ask? The names Alia Stones, ace reporter extraordinaire! Or at least I plan to be… someday. See the thing is ever since I was a kid I've always dreamed of being a great journalist hunting down the next big story. I dreamed about it so much that I ended up joining my highschool newspaper on my first day of school. Over time I slowly (or rather quickly depending who you ask) rose up the chain and became the chief editor and the new boss.
For the most part the stories I wrote were pretty simple and commonplace. Covering school plays, sporting events, even getting the personal opinions on the school's cafeteria food. Not that I ever had to eat it though since I always brought my own lunch. I'm not saying they were boring to work on or anything but after a while things were starting to feel a bit less exciting. I was starting to wonder if I was ever gonna get the chance to work on a big story. And then one day everything changed when a new student walked up to me to say hello. That student's name was Xavier Light, but me and the rest of our friends call him Rock, and from that day forward my life's never been the same. See the reason for that is I learned later on that he was not only actually a robot, but also the recently appeared superhero Mega-Man.
And let me tell you things have gotten a lot more exciting for me since I found out about his secret. From helping take down a mad scientist to traveling halfway across the world for an ancient alien artifact to fighting robots and becoming a bit of a superhero myself. Of course all that was over two years ago, a lot has happened since then. For one thing, I've been working part time at a real news station. Channel 6 News to be exact. Sure I'm technically just an intern who's job is to do coffee runs for everyone and don't get to do any REAL reporting, but still I've never felt closer to achieving my dream than right now.
Especially since the reporter I'm working under is just as dedicated to hunting down the truth as I am. Her name is Maylu Sakurai. She's technically just a few years older than me but she's definitely had more experience as a reporter than I've had. To be honest she's sorta become my hero. When she catches wind of a great story, she won't rest until she gets it. And because she's awesome like that she'll even let me tag along to learn a few tricks out in the field.
Which brings us to the present where the two of us are out by the city waterfront covering a recent break in that went down here just a few days ago. I standby taking notes while Maylu asks the guy in charge a few questions. Or at least tries while walking fast to keep pace with him as he just shakes his head in astonishment. "Mr. Rivetti! Mr. Rivetti. Mr. Rivetti, please." "You're the most persistent human I've ever met in my life, I swear. Look, I already told the cops everything, all right?" "But maybe there's a detail you could've forgotten to share with the police." He stops walking to face her. "Sweetheart, you don't forget something like that. Ten guys storm in here, broad daylight, force us to the ground at gunpoint. And these are high class pieces of tech. Nanosheet and some hydrogen technologies, too. You don't just buy this stuff, even on the black market." He starts to walk away again until Maylu runs up ahead of him and stops him. "Wait, you said hydrogen technologies, those are used in energy research. Is there anybody else that's trafficking these sorts of tech besides you?" "There's one other high-security facility along this waterfront. But they don't move nearly as much cargo as we do." Maylu is just about to ask another question when someone starts shouting our names. "Sakurai! Stones! We're live in 30 minutes! Come on!" We both turn and look behind us and see a guy leaning against the front of our news van tapping his fingers on the watch on his wrist. This is Chaud, he's our driver/camera man. He's kinda cool too, but he also has a bit of a minimalist attitude when it comes to reporting the news.
Also I'm pretty sure he's way into Maylu but doesn't try to be too obvious about it. Then again she doesn't exactly pick up on them while she's working. Maylu turns back to the worker. "Uh... Hold that thought I'll be right back." She starts running towards the van with me following close behind as she looks back and holds out her hand. "Please don't go anywhere. I'll be right back." We run over to Chaud who holds his arms out at Maylu in slight annoyance. "Come on, you're killing me." "What? I'm working." "That's a paying job?" "Well no, but-" "Because we have an actual paying job. Look, you don't think that every crime reporter in the city isn't trying to work this Emerald Spears story?" "I know that, but there is a new angle on this, and I am this close to getting it. I just need a couple of more…" She turns around only to find the guy she was talking to already gone. She lets out an annoyed sigh but immediately just lets it go.
Chaud does his best to try and cheer her up. "Look, let's just stick to what we're good at." "Right." "Let's stick to what we're good at. We're good at it." He opens the doors to the van and gestures for us to climb inside. We climb in with Malyu sitting upfront and me in the back. I lean forward and try my best to cheer her up as well. "At least we got some good notes." I hand her my notepad and she just goes over them in a flash. "Sure, but we still need more to go on. A good reporter always follows their instincts. And mine are just screaming that we're getting closer to breaking this story and finding out what the Emerald Spears are up to." Yeah, that's one of the other things that have been happening recently. In case you guys don't know, the Emerald Spears are a global terrorist organization dedicated to saving humanity from the so-called robot threat. Their leader, a former soldier named Xander Payne, once attempted to blow up Light Industries as a means of slowing down robot advancement.
In the end however his plan was thwarted by Rock who managed to take him down and turn him over to the police. We were all hoping that was the last we'd seen of him. Until a few months ago when he managed to escape from prison and launched what can only be described as a shadowy invasion of Silicon City. From small isolated crimes to straight up urban warfare they've all but completely taken over the city leaving all its citizens in a state of constant fear. They may claim to be the saviors of humanity, but in truth they're no better than common criminals. Along with my new job I've also been busy helping Rock and the others in tracking down and stopping the Emerald Spears and protecting people as best we can. However recently they've been getting better at covering their tracks making them almost impossible to find.
And while I'm glad Maylu wants to try and find them too, I'm also hoping that she doesn't end up getting too close to tracking them down before I can gather enough clues of my own and let my friends know so we can check things out ourselves. For now though all I've got so far is what that guy told us. And Maylu's right, 'A good reporter always follows their instincts.' And mine are definitely telling me that the Emerald Spears are planning something big. The only question is… What?
(Downtown Silicon City, Day)
Once Chaud gives the ok on the camera set up, Alia starts giving me the countdown. "Ok, In five, four…" I bring the microphone to my face as she mouths the final numbers. "Hi, guys, this is Maylu Sakurai from Channel 6 News and I am here in beautiful Silicon City on the first day of spring. And you know what that means. It is time to shed that pesky winter weight." I turn to my left and walk a few steps to the man standing next to a small group of people doing arm stretches while doing short jumps on trampolines. "And here with me today is celebrity fitness trainer Harley Pasternak. Hi, Harley." "Good morning, Maylu." "So what can you tell us about your brand new fitness program that you've created?" "Well you see, Twenty years I've studied the animal kingdom. I've seen that there are fat pigs, there are fat cows. But then I discovered that there are no fat birds. The secret is smooth arm swinging motions as if you were flapping them like wings. Here, try it yourself." Harley leads me to an empty trampoline and gestures for me to step onto it. "All right, I want you to visualize a sexy seagull. So we're going to squat down and flap your wings. Full extension." I follow his instructions and squat down making short jumps while slowly swinging my arms.
Chaud moves the camera up and down mimicking my movements with one arm. "Picture you're leaving the cold north and you're flying. You're migrating." I can almost hear everyone back at the station chuckling as they watch this. How am I supposed to set a good example for the new girl if I'm always assigned stuff like this? Once it's done I tell Alia that she did a good job today and ask her to help pack everything up as I head back to the news van. I practically throw my jacket into the open back of the van in frustration. "Four years of journalism school so that I can do that. Four years of my life, Chaud. It's embarrassing." Chaud puts the camera away and turns to look at me. "Look, Sakurai, I get it, you want to be a serious journalist. I see you sniffing around the newsroom for the big stories. But it's also okay to just give people something a little lighter. A little... Little froth." I raise an eyebrow at his choice of words. "Froth?" "Yeah. You know, how, when you get a coffee, it's just, like, coffee, but then they put a little froth on it. It's kind of nice." "Chaud, that's foam." "Yes, foam, froth, you get the point. It's just... It's nice, it tastes good, it's candy. You ever heard the expression, "Never take candy from a baby"? It's because even babies love candy!" That's what I kinda always liked about Chaud, the absurd and weird ways he chooses to try and cheer me up. "It's nice. And you're giving people something they like that's good and nice. They look at you and they see, "Wow, there's a nice... There's... "...candy." That is until it starts to sound like annoying gibberish. "The point is, I think that you should be rewarded, not punishing yourself. Okay? And I'm... I'm prepared to reward you. I say that we go to my buddy's old restaurant downtown. It's very vibey…" "We just ate on the way over here." "No, I know we just... I'm not saying for a full meal, we're just getting appeteasers." Don't get me wrong, I like the guy… but he can be a bit much at times.
And right now I have real work to do. "Look, I gotta go finish that interview. I'll see you and Alia at the office, Chaud!" "Yeah, I will see you at the office!" I pull my bike out of the van and ride off onto the street. A little while later l call up Mr. Rivetti on video call. When he picks up his face does very little to hide his annoyance. "I just wanted to follow up, Mr. Rivetti." "Are you kidding me? How did you get my number?" That I have Alia to thank. During our face to face earlier she apparently managed to swipe his phone and clone off his number before slipping it back in his pocket without him noticing. That girl is a reporter after my own heart. "If I could just ask one more question." "Listen, I already told you everything I know about this crime, everything." I try desperately to keep him from hanging up. "Wait wait wait, please Mr. Rivetti I'm just asking for one more piece of information." His large sigh means that my little trick worked. "Okay, you wanna know anything else, you go back down to the docks and you see my guy Stan. He'll tell you anything else you need to know, okay?" Yes! Finally a breakthrough! "And hey, do me a favor. Lose my number, all right?" After he hangs up I waste very little time pedaling back to the docks. This is it, this is the story that's going to make or break my career.
(Silicon City Waterfront, Night)
It's already night by the time I arrive back at the docks. Hopefully Stan hasn't gone home already. I pedal along a fence when I start hearing noises coming from the shipping containers below on the other side. I stop and look to see lights and people moving stuff around. I just manage to catch a number of shouts that sound like "Move it out!" and "Get those to the trucks now!" I almost can't believe it. I didn't just find a lead on the Emerald Spears, I've caught them literally in the act of stealing whatever's in those containers! I can't let this opportunity slip by. I pull out my phone and speed dial the office. "Channel 6." "Chris. Chris, it's Maylu. I'm at the docks." "We're in the middle of the evening brief, Sakurai. Whatever you got can wait for tomorrow." "No, no, listen I need…" All I get in response is a dial tone. That jerk actually hung up on me. I look back through the fence at the robbery still in progress. I act quickly and try to snap a picture of it with my phone's camera but it gives me a 'Low Light' message on the screen. Damn it. Well you know what they say, "If you wanna be a good reporter, you go where the action is." I look for a way through the fence and find a hole just big enough for me to squeeze through.
Once I'm through I quickly and quietly try to get closer to the scene, moving between containers and sticking to the shadows. I just need to get close enough to get a good shot to bring back to the station. I peek around the corner to see a bunch of Emerald Spears guys carrying and loading up materials packed in crates. I spot a woman with light orange hair tied up in a ponytail wearing a uniform shouting orders to everyone else. If I were a gambler I'd bet that she was one of Xander Payne's lieutenants. I quickly duck back behind cover just as one of the soldiers turns in my direction. I move back around to try and find a safer place from which to snap pictures.
Suddenly I hear a loud shout. "I've got movement!" I freeze in place with sweat running down my back. Crap. Did that guy spot me after all? I hear another shout. "Weapons free!" I start hearing the sounds of gunfire on the other side of the container. Wait, who are they shooting at? I quickly move forward to try and see what's happening. All the while the sounds of screams, gunfire, people splashing into the water and metal getting sliced echo all around me. Finally I hear the woman scream again. "Retreat! Retreat!" The Emerald Spears start piling into their vehicles and speed off in a flash. I duck back hoping not to get spotted as they drive past. Once they're gone I carefully peek around the corner to see what had happened. Lying on the ground were a few weapons scattered around in pieces. I hear the sound of metal clanging above nearby and look up just in time to see the silhouette of someone leap onto the roof of a storage warehouse. At first I assume going by the shape it might actually be Mega-Man or one of his teammates. However the body armor shape looks more sleek and has what looks like a long thin hair flowing out of the back of the helmet. And I swear I see a bit of light reflecting off of a sunglasses-like visor. And in place of a buster cannon is a red glowing sword attached to their right hand which retracts back into their arm. I stare in awe before finally snapping back to reality. I need to snap a photo of this now! I finally manage to get my phone out and take a picture. Only to find nothing on the screen.
The silhouette is gone. I missed them by one second. I step out and start taking photos of the area until I come across something cut into the metal of one of the containers. I look closer to see that it's a circle with a thin lighting bolt down the middle. The inside is painted white and black. It's like they left it as their calling card. It's weird though because I get a feeling like I've seen this symbol from somewhere before. I take a few quick photos and start heading back to grab my bike.
(Maylu's Apartment, night)
I burst through the front door and quickly call Alia on my phone. "Alia. Alia!" "Hey Maylu. You sound really excited. Something happen?" "Ohhh believe me, You have no idea what I just went through. Honestly I am freaking out. I saw an Emerald Spears attack." "What? Are you okay?" "I was riding my bike by the docks. It was night, it's dark already and there are Emerald Spears soldiers everywhere. Then out of nowhere, there was this guy fighting back against them. And he... He left behind this symbol. And I know that I've seen it before. I can't remember where. But there is someone else fighting back against the Emerald Spears. There is a new vigilante in this city. And no one knows, but I do. I know. And now I have my story. There is no more froth and foam for me." I catch my breath after my long explanation to hear Alia's reaction. "Wait. What?" I let out a small groan. As much as I like this girl she can be really slow sometimes. "You know what? Never mind. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow back at work." I hang up and start putting the details of my story together. Not only was someone else besides Mega-Man and his team fighting back against the Emerald Spears, but it was someone doing it all by themselves. A brand new superhero. I went to the docks tonight to hunt down the story everyone else has been fighting to get. Instead I got a story that no one else is even closely aware of. And tomorrow, everyone is going to hear about the vigilante as reported by none other than Maylu Sakurai! My time has finally come!
(Channel 6 news station, day)
It's busy as usual here at the news station. Which is not surprising considering Channel 6 is one of the largest news broadcasters in the entire city. Even then though they still have to compete with the other news broadcasters for top billing. Such as it is in the world of news and journalism. When it comes to breaking the next big story it's all about first come, first served. Of course despite all the hustle and bustle I still always try to keep my mind sharp and focused on the task at hand. Which at the moment is passing out coffee for everyone in the newsroom. Still I can't help but worry about what Maylu said last night when she called me. Witnessing an Emerald Spears attack? A new vigilante in the city? I mean me and Douglas always suspected that there was another reason behind the Emerald Spears going further underground besides us taking them down one block at time, but the idea of someone else fighting them on their own just raises more and more questions. Is this new vigilante on our side? Or is he fighting for his own reasons? And if so what is he after? Or is he just under orders from someone else? Of course what also worries me is what Maylu might do next. We may have only been working together for a few weeks but in that time I've come to know exactly what kind of person she is.
Maylu is the type of person that when she gets a hold of a good story, it's impossible to get her to let go. Honestly it's what I admire most about her. I'm just worried that that same amount of determination is going to end up getting her hurt or worse. It'll be difficult and a bit risky but I need to somehow get her to drop this story and keep her safe. I just hope that whatever she found out about the Emerald Spears robbery at the docks helps us finally figure out what they're up to and put a stop to it. I hear the boss, Ms. Bernadette Thompson, walk in raising her voice a little to get everyone's attention. "All right, we need a lead for tonight. Who's got it?" One of the reporters raises their hand. "Major redevelopments proposed for lower Silicon City area." "No." Yeah decent piece, but kinda boring. Another reporter raises his hand. "I got something. SPD task force taking credit for small decline in Spears-related crime." Yeah thanks to Rock and the rest of us. Before a day didn't go by when you didn't hear the news talk about Rock taking down bad guys and saving the city on a daily basis.
However, over time the excitement that had built up since his debut appearance as Mega-Man has since died down to the point that just him showing up was no longer considered breaking news worthy. Not that people aren't grateful for everything he and the rest of us have been doing for the city lately, but just once I wouldn't mind if the police force acknowledges our part in taking down the Emerald Spears. Honestly I don't know how my dad and Detective Krantz can still be working at that place the way it is now. "I like that. Let's run with that." "Yes, ma'am." "Ok people, 7:00 AM broadcast, we have three minutes to air. Let's get to it." The boss turns to walk out the door until Maylu runs in holding a brown folder in her hand. "Oh, Sakurai. I'll talk to you in a minute." She tries to leave but gets stopped by Maylu holding up her hands. "Listen, I know that I'm actually overstepping my boundaries by being here, but I think that you're gonna want to hear what I have to say. I actually think that you're all gonna want to hear what I have to say." Maylu walks in and stands at the center of the newsroom. "Um, I witnessed an attempted Emerald Spears robbery at the docks last night." "Hold on, the scanner said that gunshots were heard, but there were no reports of any Emerald Spears activity." "That's because whatever they were attempting to do was stopped." "What were you doing at the docks anyway? Was there a trampoline convention?" "I was at the docks because I was reporting, not sitting behind my desk, McNaughton." There are very few people at this job that I would say I don't like, but McNaughton? Yeah he's a grade A dirtbag.
Always taking shots at Maylu because of the types of stories that are assigned to her. Plus like Maylu just said, He has never once sat up from behind his desk while working on a story. Frankly I'm amazed how he even managed to get this job in the first place. Plus he sometimes treats me as his personal assistant. Always telling me to do things for him. The guy is a complete immature jerk. Thankfully Ms. Thompson knows this too and knows when to step in before things get too carried away. "Okay, kids! That's enough." She turns back to Maylu. "Who stopped it?" "Well, there was this guy. I didn't see him clearly, but he was swinging this glowing sword and knocking these guys into the... Into the water. There is a vigilante that is fighting back against the Emerald Spears. Not just Mega-Man. There's a huge story here!" A glowing sword? The only person I know who fits that description is Zero, but he hardly ever goes off on his own without telling us about it. "Wow. Sakurai, I think you found He-Man. That's cool." McNaughton's comment gets a chuckle from most of the room. "The vigilante is real. I saw him." Ms. Thompson walks up to Maylu letting out a tired sigh.
Truth be told this is not the first time Maylu has nagged her about following a specific story. In fact she'd been practically begging her to get assigned the Emerald Spears story until she finally put her foot down and told Maylu to drop it and stick to her assignments. Not that Maylu didn't technically disobey her by doing both. "Sakurai, I'm gonna assume that you would not come up here and tell us this fantastic story without some tangible proof." Maylu opens up the folder and takes out a photo to show her. "I took this photo of one of the shipping containers. I actually think that it may be his calling card." I manage to catch a glimpse of it over Ms. Thompson's shoulder. Some kind of weird symbol cut into the metal. And while I think it's pretty interesting, Ms. Thompson on the other hand just looks at it and scoffs. "This is nothing, Sakurai. This is nothing!" "That's exactly the point. Somebody stopped a Spears robbery and left no evidence. There is nothing." "Oh, I get it. You wanted me to put "nothing" on the nightly news." " course not." "You know, I'm gonna pretend we never had this conversation. I'm erasing it from my mind. And the rest of us, we're gonna go back to work. Let's hit it!" Ms. Thompson leaves the room along with everyone else. Meanwhile Maylu stands there letting out a tired sigh as the room empties. I go over and place a hand on her shoulder. "For what it's worth, I think it's a great story." She turns to me and smiles. "Thanks Alia. I appreciate that. I'll catch you later." She turns and walks out of the room, not noticing me slipping the photo out of her folder from behind. Knowing her she probably has plenty of copies of her own but hopefully she doesn't notice at least one missing. I give a good look over and step out of the room to walk down a quiet hallway. I look to make sure no one's around and take out my phone to call Douglas. "Douglas, It's Alia. Listen, you know how I told you that Maylu called me last night about some mysterious new vigilante? Well I think I got us a lead to help track him down."
(Silicon City, Undisclosed Location, day)
I overhear the sounds of the news coming from the tv in the corner. "Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Channel 6 Morning News. New developments in that ongoing sanitation strike to tell you about. But first, after reviewing the city's soaring crime rates with the police commissioner, Councilman Dan Gregor took to the steps of City Hall, reaffirming the city's commitment to fight against the rising crime organization calling themselves the Emerald Spears. He did so on the heels of a renewed contract with Eric Xeno and The X Corporation." Without turning my head I glance over at the screen to see the police commissioner standing alongside a man with a full gray beard and wearing round black sunglasses. Ever since Dr. Wily admitted to unleashing dangerous robots that threatened the lives of so many people and nearly destroyed the city Light Industries' public image has all but gone downhill in a wastebasket. Allowing other companies like the X Foundation to rise up and take the spotlight. Ironically Mr. Xeno used to work for them in their R&D wing before being forced to resign and go out on his own to build his own company. "Using the X Foundation research and securities technology, this city greatly improves its chances of bringing the Emerald Spears to justice!" "Turn it off!" One of my lieutenants reaches over and presses the button to turn off the tv. Justice. What would a wrinkly old bureaucrat know about justice? Doesn't he understand the growing threat we all face?
The more time is allowed for robots to evolve and advance, the bleaker the future for humanity becomes. That's the whole reason why we're here in the first place. Silicon City is the center for all robotic advancement in the country. It needs to be brought under control before it's too late. Otherwise it won't just be Mega-Man and his little league that'll become a threat, but all robots across the globe! Even now other countries are replacing their militaries with robotic combat drones. Sure they're simple and easy to control now, but the day will soon come when the machines they built to protect them will turn around and seek to destroy them. I know all too well the destruction and pain such machines can bring. Which is why I founded the Emerald Spears and swore an oath to win this war before it even begins. I clench my fists and flex my muscles causing the rope binding my arms to creak. I straighten up and face the soldier standing in front of me. "Begin!" The soldier throws a punch which I easily dodge. As he throws another I slam my head into his fist causing him to shout with pain. He tries to attack with his other hand only for it to get caught under my chin and snap under the pressure I put on his wrist. I finally attack by spinning on my knees and kicking him in the stomach and twisting my leg to kick his face. I spin back around to deliver the final kick to his head and knock him to the ground unconscious.
Pathetic. I ask for soldiers, and this is what I get. I break myself free of the ropes and stand up to face my two lieutenants, My younger brother Theo and Simone Miller. They both look straight ahead, each with a calm face. However I can tell from the look of their hands that they're both trembling. Which is appropriate considering their recent failures. "Your men are weak. It's no surprise your missions fail." "We couldn't have anticipated the vigilante showing up at the docks, Commander Payne." If there's one thing I hate more than failure, it's excuses. I didn't go through all this effort, dealing with setbacks caused by that robot brat just to be further hindered by an outsider playing at being a hero. "You have been trained for such contingencies." "But we've never seen an enemy like this. Their speed. Their strength. They're not human." I walk up close to Theo's face to look him right in the eye. He tries desperately to remain looking straight ahead. "I don't believe in fairy tales. It's what society wants to reduce the Emerald Spears to. A myth." I look back to Miller and take a few steps back from them. "But the Emerald Spears will rise to crush those who stand in our way. Capture Mega-Man and this "vigilante" however you can. Use civilians as bait." Theo looks at me questionably. "But sir, we've never intentionally endangered human lives before." "This is war, little brother. Sacrifices have to be made. No one will stop us in our quest to reclaim victory. We will transform this city into a stronghold the likes of which will stand as a rally cry for humanity to join us in destroying the robot menace once and for all." And besides, I will personally take great satisfaction in exacting my revenge on that little blue menace. And as for this new vigilante, he'll soon know the price for making an enemy out of the Emerald Spears.
(Silicon City, X Foundation Charity event, night)
"Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in welcoming the SPD's top benefactor, Eric Xeno." The crowd's applause is almost deafening as Mr. Xeno steps up to the podium. "Please, please. Please. Sit down, sit down." He gestures with his hands as the applause dies down. "I have to say, it's wonderful to see so many people out here tonight, especially in a neighborhood so hard hit by the Spear's crime wave. Years ago, my life was touched by tragedy. I was a young scientist working with a world-class team on cutting-edge research. And our laboratory was attacked, set fire to, destroyed, due to the selfish, short-cited greed of a former renowned scientist, Dr. Albert Wily, who twisted our dream into a nightmare. Several people, including a few of my colleagues, lost their lives that day. And it is in their honor, in their memory, that the X Foundation, whether through our Biomed, Robotics or Construction divisions, will remain committed to keeping the people of Silicon City, our city, safe. So whenever someone takes flame to this city, I will be there to put the fire out. And that's a promise." The crowd roars giving him praise and support as he bows his head thanking everyone.
After what happened this morning I was afraid Ms. Thompson was gonna stick me with another embarrassing assignment. So imagine my surprise when she assigned me, Chaud, and Alia to cover the charity event hosted by Eric Xeno. Man, it's been a few since we've seen each other. He and my father both used to work at Light Industries when I was a kid. Dad would even bring me along to show me what they were working on. Sometimes I'd even bring my old video camera to conduct pretend interviews with dad and everyone at the lab. I even got to meet Dr. Light and Dr. Cain and eventually made friends with… Of course that was all before the accident. Mr. Xeno steps down from the stage and walks along the floor shaking hands and thanking the guests who are in attendance. Hearing his speech really helped to put my mind at ease a little with everything that's been happening recently. With that in mind, I take a deep breath and decide to go over and speak with him. I call out his name to get his attention. "Mr. Xeno." He turns to look at me. "Maylu Sakurai. You worked with my father." He looks at my face for a moment and his eyes grow wide. "Oh! Maylu, my dear girl. I can't believe it. I haven't seen you since…" "Since his funeral. It was a long time ago." "Yes of course. I hope you've been doing well." "I am. I just wanted to tell you that your words really resonated with me, and I hope to one day contribute to the city in the way that you do." "Well, it looks like you're doing a pretty good job." He glances down at the press badge attached to my jacket. "Channel 6, very impressive, Maylu." "Um... Thank you. It's, uh... It isn't exactly everything I anticipated it would be." He places a hand on my shoulder. "Well, As long as you are true to yourself, your father will always be proud of you." His words help to make me smile a little as I thank him.
I wanted to say more but a man dressed in a suit, most likely one of his private security guys, comes over and speaks softly in his ear. "Mr. Xeno, we have to be uptown at 7:00." Mr. Xeno nods his head and turns back to me. "It was nice to speak with you again Maylu. I'll see you on TV." I nod as he turns and walks away. And for a brief moment, it feels like the spark of determination in my chest quickly explodes into an open flame again. If its proof Ms. Thompson wants? Then it's proof she's gonna get!
(Silicon City, Downtown Area, night)
All three of us are back in the news van, sitting in traffic, while waiting for the light to change green. Ever since we left the charity event Maylu is looking more confident and determined than she was this morning. It makes me both happy and concerned. "Eric Xeno was so inspiring. I know this is a story that actually matters." Chaud glances over from the driver's seat. "The new superhero one? That's a good idea. I should chase that down." For a guy who's trying to be supportive, he really needs to work on his sarcasm. Personally I wouldn't be against helping her go after this story but once again it would be too dangerous to involve her. Not to mention that it would compromise mine and the others identities as current superheroes. I shudder to even imagine what would happen to Rock if the entire world knew who and what he really is. It was bad enough when the army and Bastion wanted to apprehend him before, but what would happen if everyone wanted to come after him? I've already seen him get put in a cage before, I won't let that happen to him again. My thoughts are suddenly interrupted by the sounds of screaming outside. All three of us look to see a whole crowd of people running in the same direction from around the street corner. "Where's everybody going?" Chaud's question is soon followed by Maylu getting out of the van and running in the opposite direction of where everyone was fleeing from. I jump out soon after and follow her through the crowd. "Sakurai! Stones! Where are you guys going?" Knowing Chaud he'll just stay put in the van. Which is good because I have a bad feeling about what's going on right now.
As we're running, Maylu tries to ask some of the fleeing people what's going on. "Hey! Hey! What are you running from?" We turn the corner and see the crowd spilling out from the subway entrance. It doesn't take me long to put two and two together. This has to be Emerald Spears. Without hesitation Maylu runs straight for the entrance, pushing through the crowd. I call out to try and stop her. "Wait, wait Maylu! Maylu!" It proves pointless however as she races down the stairs and out of my sight. I quickly push through the crowd after her and make it to the stairs only to still see no sign of her. I make my way down and quickly call the others. "Douglas, Its Alia! Something's going on at the downtown subway." "Ok standby, Rock and everyone else are with me now. I'll put you on speaker." Through the phone I can hear sounds of typing and movement in the background. I soon hear Douglas again after a few seconds. "Surveillance uplinks are showing heavy, heavy Emerald Spears activity at the Broad Street platform." Rock's voice joins in. "They're taking hostages, that's new." A loud scoff comes through the phone. "Cowards. They truly lack all honor." A few more voices chime in as well. "Are you sure you guys will be able to handle this?" "We've done this before. They started this, And now we gotta finish it." "This is insane. That cat is playing Chopsticks with chopsticks!" A loud smacking sound soon follows. "Don't be an idiot." "Ow. Not cool Roll." "Okay. Let's rock 'n' roll, boys! Alia, sit tight and we'll be there to back you up soon!" "Got it!" I hang up and look for a good place to change. I spot a bathroom and run straight for it.
I make it to the lower level and hide to avoid being spotted by two soldiers running down the next set of stairs. I hear the loud echoes of people screaming down below followed by the sound of a gunshot. "If you want to live, Just stay down!" I move from one pillar to the next to try and get a closer look at what's happening. I slowly make my way towards the stairs but someone grabs me from behind and wraps their arm around my neck. Out of the corner of my eye I can tell that the person who grabbed me is in fact a member of the Emerald Spears. They push towards the stairs and lead me down with a gun pointed at my back. We get to the train platform where dozens of people are being forced to the ground at gunpoint by more soldiers. Each one shouting orders at the people to stay down or keep quiet. I also see one of them placing small devices along the wall between hostages. My eyes widen when I get a closer look. They're bombs. They're planting bombs. Since when did the Emerald Spears start using these kinds of tactics? They've only ever threatened robots, not people. Either they've changed their world view or… "On the ground!" The soldier forces me to the floor next to another hostage and walks away.
I look around carefully and spot the same lieutenant that was at the docks the other night. She walks to the edge of the platform and looks around. "We know you're out there! If you don't surrender, we start executing hostages!" So that's it. It's not us that are the target, we're just the bait. This whole thing is just an elaborate trap to capture the real threat. Which can only mean one thing, they're desperate. After all the times Mega-Man and his team have stepped in, along with the actions of the vigilante, The Emerald Spears are finally being pushed to the brink. Perhaps even on their last legs. Despite the obvious danger I can't let this opportunity slip by. I slowly take out my phone to take a photo. The hostage lying next to me sees what I'm doing and desperately whispers to try and stop me. "Don't! Don't do it!" Against my better judgment I ignore the warnings and hit the button, causing the phone to make a clicking sound that echoes slightly. The woman turns her head and looks straight at me. "You!" I look up to see her pull out a gun and aim it at me. "Stand up!" She starts walking towards me when a loud voice echoes from the tunnel. "All aboard!" The woman and the other soldiers quickly swerve their heads around trying to find the source of the voice. She starts shouting orders when suddenly the lights go out with only the flashing lights of a passing train illuminating the station. As it passes several figures jump off and start assaulting the soldiers. The woman starts firing her gun until she suddenly gets shoulder tackled into the wall by a blue blur. One look and I could tell who just jumped in to save us. While it wasn't the vigilante I saw at the docks, it was someone everyone in the city knew. Our first superhero, Mega-Man. And if he's here then it stands to reason who the others are. Two more figures attack the soldiers. One in green armor, Gadget Man, tosses a small device that launches a few into the ceiling lights, while the other larger one in red, Zero, throws a soldier screaming through one of the windows of the speeding train to the other platform. A loud voice starts shouting behind me. "Come on! This way everyone!" I look to see a woman in pink armor, Mega-Woman, directing people up the stairs to safety while using an arm cannon to fire a shot that ricochets off several soldiers knocking them out.
On the other platform another figure in black armor, Trigger Man, starts twirling a pair of pistols in both hands like some kind of cowboy. "That's right. Like a shadow, dude." He fires multiple shots, each one hitting a soldier's weapon and effectively destroying them. He then proceeds to rush and deliver a series of kicks sending them flying into the wall. "Aw Yeah! How you like that?" Mega-Man shouts over the train. "Rush! Fetch!" I spot out of the corner of my eye a robot dog, Rush, running along the walls while retrieving each of the bombs with their mouth. He brings them over to Gadget Man who kneels down and disarms the bombs in a matter of seconds. "Explosives disarmed!" Zero slams one more soldier down on the ground. "Enemies neutralized!" I look over at the stairs and see the lieutenant trying to blend in with the people going up the stairs. I shout to get Mega-Man's attention. "Mega-Man! The woman, the leader, she's getting away!" I point at the stairs where he spots the woman bolt into a run. "Alright I got her! You guys wrap things up here and make sure everyone's safe!" "Understood Friend!" "Go get her dude!" Mega-Man runs up a construction tarp hanging through the ceiling back to the surface. I get up and run to the tarp looking up at it. I turn and quickly speed up the stairs with the remaining people being directed out. I make it back to street level just as the police arrive. Better late than never I guess. I run down the sidewalk following the path underground back to the tarp sticking out and attached to a building. I look up and spot a fire escape to climb up. As I start climbing I can hear the sound of an explosion coming from the rooftop above. I immediately double time it up the fire escape. It may not be the story I've been chasing, but seeing Mega-Man in action live is still a story.
(POV change)
Lieutenant Simone Miller, former army spec ops turned terrorist, makes her way to the rooftop panting heavily. From the sweat coming off her forehead and the frustrated look on her face I can guess that their little 'trap' didn't go quite the way they'd hoped. Not surprising really. Desperate and thoughtless acts like that only ever end in total failure. And failure is not in my programming. I drop down from my perch and land near her causing her to jump and draw her gun. She aims it at me with her hands shaking. One look and I can tell she knows exactly who I am. "You!" "Yeah, me." I charge at her and use my energy saber to slice the gun barrel in half before she even has a chance to fire it. Even if she did she wouldn't have been able to hit me. Not with my speed. She tries to make a run for it only to have to the ground at her feet shot by my buster cannon tripping her up and falling on her face. I walk over and hoist her up by her collar and bring her over to dangle off the edge of the rooftop. Once she sees the street below she grabs hold of my arm to keep from falling. Of course unlike the other grunts this doesn't scare her. Instead she just glares at me with hatred in her eyes. "Go ahead. Do it." "Not until you tell me everything I want to know." She spits at my visor and sneers. "I'm not telling you anything." I bring out my saber again and raise it to her face. "We'll see about that." Before I ask my first question I quickly move to evade a plasma shot fired at me.
This causes me to lose my grip on Miller and she starts to fall off the edge of the roof. Instead of plummeting to her death however a hand reaches out and grabs her arm catching her in mid fall. She looks up to see her savior is none other than Mega-Man. Dammit, how the hell did he sneak up on me like that? He pulls Miller up and places her safely on the roof before turning to me. "So much for there being a 'new hero' in town." "I never claimed to be otherwise." "If this is your idea of heroics then maybe you don't deserve the title." "I don't have time to talk ethics with a little blue brat like you. You and your little gang did your job, now let me do mine." I look over at Miller standing nearby and taking a few steps back getting ready to run. I take a few steps until Mega-Man stops me by putting a hand on my shoulder. "I can't let you do that." I look at him and grab his hand before tossing him over my shoulder at a nearby water tower that dents on impact when he hits it. I turn back to Miller who's already started running for it. I get ready to chase after her only to spot out of the corner of my eye a small bomb flying right at me that immediately explodes once it's close enough to me. Mega-Man gets back up and looks at the cloud of smoke where I'm standing. "You know I'd heard you were tough, but didn't think you were stupid. His smug expression changes to utter shock when the smoke clears and he sees me still standing with my arm shield deployed to absorb the force of the explosion. I lower it enough to look at him and see him trembling slightly. If something this small is able to shake him, then he's more pathetic than what I've read about in his file. I hear him whisper under his breath. "It can't be. No way." Ok seriously, what is this guy's problem? And why does he keep staring at me like that?
Suddenly I hear a shout nearby. "Rock!" I look around to see his friends show up and surround me. Great, that's all I need right now. A bunch of kids getting in the way of my mission. I can see now why General Night is so annoyed with these guys. The one called Axel shouts over at the one called Zero. "Yo Zero, I think this guy's trying to steal your look." "Impossible. My expression remains on my face." Wow. He's even dumber than I'd heard. "Careful you guys, it's one of Wily's robot masters, Proto-Man!" I look over at Mega-Man with temporary surprise. How does he know my code name? "Wait, Proto-Man? I thought you said he was scrap metal?" "Obviously that appears to no longer be the case Alia." Ok now this is getting annoying. I shake off my confusion and just lay it out straight for them. "I'll give you guys one chance to walk away." Mega-Man raises his buster cannon at me with me aiming in kind. "I don't think so." "You think you got what it takes to take me on?" "It's six on one bro. Just make a move." I scoff at Axel. "It can be sixty on one and you guys still wouldn't have a chance." "Then let us have our actions do the talking instead of our words." I glance around at every one of them readying their respective weapons, including the dog growling and baring his teeth at me, and look back to Mega-Man. "Last chance, blue boy." "You should've stayed at the scrapyard." Fine. If that's how you wanna play it. This wasn't the mission but things can change rapidly out in the field. I charge up my buster ready to fire. This won't even last beyond three minutes. Just as I'm about to fire a bright flash comes out of nowhere. The rising tension of the situation immediately vanishes and is replaced with frozen silence. As if tonight wasn't confusing enough, now I've got just one more question on my mind right now. What was that?
(POV change)
"What was that?" I whisper to the others frozen awkwardly. "It's a camera flash." "We know it's a camera flash. Who's behind the camera flash?" "By my calculations, it's Alia's coworker." "Oh snap. Now we gotta kill her…" "What?" "With kindness! Give her some flowers, earn her trust." "I'm not in the mood for this." Suddenly Proto-Man runs right at Maylu as she tries to climb back down. He grabs her by her jacket and yanks her back up onto the roof. Zero gets ready to attack but Alia stops him. "Zero no! You might hit Maylu!" She's right as long as she's in close proximity to him all we can do is stay back and think of a way to save her. He glares down at her. "Give me the camera." "Ooh, look, he's doing a Batman voice." Axel jokes.
Unfortunately none of us feels like laughing right now. Axel then starts whispering to himself. "Man, She's so hot. Why didn't Alia say that her coworker was hot?" Zero turns and glares at him. "We can hear you!" "Seriously, friend. Read the room." Douglas adds. Proto-Man looks over his shoulder at us. "Do you people ever shut up?" He turns back to Maylu who looks up at him terrified. Crap. I feel so useless right now. Proto-Man leans in close with his fist. "If you don't give me the camera, I'm gonna…" "Enough!" All of us look up to see a drone fly down and hover in front of Proto-Man. "Stand down, Proto-Man." The drone's voice sounds familiar and takes me a few seconds to recognize it. "Agent Signas?" I shout in surprise. "Wait what?" everyone but Zero shouts. "Yeah greetings kiddos, been awhile." The drone turns back to Proto-Man who reluctantly backs away from Maylu. He looks over at Axel and points a finger as his face plate retracts to show his mouth. "And just so you know I only saw Batman once!" The drone flies closer to Maylu who stands back up. "Ma'am, hello. I apologize. My colleague here forgot to say "please." So, would you please hand over the camera?" Maylu starts backing away from the drone and into Rush who yelps, causing her to jump and turn around.
She starts freaking out a bit until Axel jumps in to try and calm her down. "No, no, no, no. Whoa. Whoa. Chill. It's just armor." He reaches down to remove Rush's helmet. "See? Don't freak out." Axel hits a switch at the back of Rush's head and releases the clamps that allows him to remove the helmet, and reveal the internal circuitry in Rush's head. Axel looks back at her holding up the helmet. "Right?" In response Maylu drops to the ground unconscious. "Oh, I think that went well." Douglas comments.
Alia goes over to check on Maylu to make sure she's ok. I help carry her to a wall for her to lean up against. Alia then turns to glare at Axel. "Nice going moron!" "What? I was just showing her that there was nothing to freak out about." "By showing her the inside of a dog's skull?" Axel takes a few moments for her words to sink in. "Ohhhhh. Ok yeah no that's my bad." I stand up and look over at the drone and Proto-Man. "Now would you care to explain what's going on right now Agent Signas?" "Hey we told you that we'd reprogrammed Wily's robot masters to work for us." "Yeah but I didn't think that included him." I point my finger at Proto-Man who just looks at me. "Am I supposed to know you or something?" "Are you being funny right now?" I ask him annoyed. "I don't do funny. That's more your speed. Or lack thereof." And now that annoyance has turned to anger. "Oh you wanna go ponyboy?" I clench my fists. "As if I'd even waste anymore energy on you punk." The drone quickly flies in between us. "Hey take it easy there Rock. We're all on the same side here for once. Let's try not to ruin it." I take a deep breath and finally back off.
While there's no way I'd ever trust the bot who once tried to kill me, I know for a fact that Agent Signas is a lot more pleasant to talk to than that of his boss or colleague. "Fine. But that still doesn't explain what you're both doing here." "Isn't it obvious? We're here to help bring down the Emerald Spears." "Wait seriously?" Axel asks. "Well of course. After all that's what Bastion was founded for in the first place right? To protect the world from all manner of international threats." That is true. Frankly I'm just glad that they're not trying to capture me anymore. Still of all the robot masters for them to send, why did it have to be this guy? "Uh I hate to interrupt but I do believe that our uninvited guest is starting to come around." We all look to see Maylu start to stir a bit. Which means we now have to work fast.
(POV change)
I hear distorted voices as I start to wake up. "Breathing steady. Blood pressure stabilizing." "Why are we still here playing doctor?" "She may have a head injury." "Uh, correction. She's a hot chick who may have a head injury, which makes it our civic duty to…" My vision starts to clear up a bit as I see a bright light shining on my face. My eyes adjust to allow me to see the source is Gadget Man's goggles. He starts snapping his finger on both sides of my head. "Ma'am, ma'am. Can you hear me? Do you know what city you're in? Do you know where you are?" Trigger Man pops up behind him. "Have you seen that video where the cat plays Chopsticks with the chopsticks?" Mega-Man shoves him out of the way. "Can we focus here?" "Guys, please! Come on. Give her some air."
Wait, I recognize that last voice. The light dies down and I see the next person offering a hand to help me up. I take it and see the person is Mega-Woman. Or should I say… "Alia? You're Mega-Woman?" She looks at me a bit shocked and clears her throat while trying to disguise her voice. "Ahem, Uh, Alia? I'm sorry miss. I believe you have the wrong…" "Alia, we've worked together for the past several months. I know what your face looks like." She lets out a sigh. "Ok yeah. But for the record I did not agree to the name "Mega-Woman" ok? I don't know who came up with that one." I stand up and look at everyone standing around me. "Ok so what are you?" Mega-Man clears his throat. "Well, miss, we're superheroes." "We're warriors!" "Technically, some of us are robots." "Oh And we're teenagers, but we can have adult conversations." I take a minute to let everything sink in and piece together. "So, you're... Super Warrior Robot Teenagers?" "Well when you put it like that, it sounds ridiculous." Yeah Gadget Man's right that does sound ridiculous.
Still I can't believe that this whole time, Alia Stones, the new young intern that I took under my wing, is actually a member of Mega-Man's team. I'd be mad right now if I wasn't so shocked. I mean she's been sitting on the biggest story of all time, Mega-Man: In person!, and she's been keeping it from me? I'm just straight up speechless right now. And soon become nervous when the big guy Zero starts scowling at me. "She stares at us as if we were freaks. That's why you took our picture, wasn't it? To show and laugh with your friends?" Trigger Man interjects. "Bro, that's a good thing! Maybe she has hot friends." Alia points her finger in between the two of them. "Ok Zero, calm down. Axel, just stop." Wait, picture! I immediately remember taking a picture with my phone and check to see that it's not broken. I search my pocket but it's not there. I slowly start to panic until a new voice gets my attention. "Looking for this?" I look over and start mentally freaking out. On one side there was the vigilante standing right in front of me in clear view. On the other hand he was also holding my phone looking ready to crush it in his hand.
I start to really panic now. "Please. Don't break it." He just grins and tightens his grip a little. "No, no, no. Please." Mega-Man steps in and snatches the phone out of his hand. "If you're gonna be a good guy now, you need to learn that good guys don't break things, we fix them. Douglas already wiped the phone, genius. Problem solved, so either move on, or I'll make you move on." The vigilante turns to stare him down. "As if you could. You wouldn't last ten seconds in a real fight with me." "I think the results of our last little showdown says something different." Trigger Man chuckles a bit in the background. "Ooh, tension! Yo Zero, who would you bet money on in that fight?" Zero just scoffs and crosses his arms. "As if I'd even dignify that question with an answer."
"So Proto-Man then?" "Obviously." The small drone flies over and gets between them. "Hey come on now. We got enough to worry about without you two trying to kill each other." the vigilante or rather Proto-Man just stares at Mega-Man. "Were it so easy." Mega-Man scowls at him in response. I get the feeling that these two have a bit of history. Gadget man steps in holding out his arm which shows a small holographic map. "Uh Rock, if we want to make it back before curfew, we gotta hustle." I blink a few times at what he just called him. Rock? Mega-Man turns to him and nods. "He's right, we'll talk more about this soon." The drone explains and flies over towards me. "Do not say a word about this to anyone. If you do, we will find you. Maylu Sakurai." It turns around and looks back at Proto-Man. "We're on the move, Blues." I blink again at the other name. Blues? Proto-Man straightens up his posture and proceeds to step off the roof with the drone flying off behind him.
Mega-Man turns to look at me now and tosses my phone back to me. "The same goes for us. You tell anybody about what you've seen tonight and we'll find you." Mega-Man backs away with the others following suit. Trigger Man looks at me with his arms outstretched. "Yeah! We'll find you, Sakurai." He takes a few steps away until he quickly comes back. "I'm sorry, that came across super creepy, okay? We will find you, though." The team runs off the edge and starts leaping from rooftop to rooftop. I rush over and try to take a bunch of quick photos as they leap off with their voices echoing a little. "Did you see me back there? Guys, I totally talked to a girl!" "Shut up, Axel!" By the time they get out of sight all I have is a few blurry photos. Still those names. Rock and Blues. I know those names somehow. But from where? I think hard until it hits me. The answer is back at my apartment.
(Maylu's apartment, night)
I dig furiously into my closet searching for them. Rock. Blues. I know those names. I know those names! I keep digging until finally I find them. Newspaper clippings about the accident from years ago along with my dad's old note books and files regarding Project: Zero. I open them up and comb through them until I find something that makes me gasp. Inside one of the pages is the same symbol that was cut into the container back at the docks. It was the symbol for the project meant to symbolize restarting from zero. Before it was a weapon, the project was all about bringing the world back to its original state and reversing hundreds of years of pollution and environmental decay. Thereby making life better for everyone on earth. I shift through the closet a bit more and find my old video camera and recording tapes. I stick one in and turn on the camera.
On the screen I can see a lab as a young girl's voice narrates. "Good evening. This is Maylu Sakurai, reporting live from my daddy's lab. I know it sounds pretty boring, but actually, he does some pretty cool stuff." A man in a lab coat looks away from his computer and over to the camera. "Time to put the camera away, Maylu." "Aw, Dad!" Seeing his face and hearing his voice again after all this time nearly brings me to tears. Nevertheless I put in another tape and watch the screen. "And now I will show you something amazing." The screen shows a glass case containing a green glowing orb with the label on the glass reading: Omega Core. "It's supposed to be from a different planet in outer space!" The screen changes to show Mr. Xeno making adjustments to a robotic limb. "Here we go. I think that should do it." He then walks over to a man with a white beard and helps him attach the limb to an unfinished robot.
"And this is Mr. Xeno and the greatest scientist in the world, Dr. Light." The two men look over and smile at the camera waving hello. "Can you tell our viewers what this robot's name is?" Dr. Light places his hand on his chin thinking for a bit. "Actually this robot doesn't quite have a name yet. But you're more than welcome to give them one if you like?" "Really!?" "Of course. What do you think their name should be?" The camera gets closer to the robot's face. "Hmm. How about… Blues?" "That's a wonderful name. Blues it is then." The screen changes to show my dad standing behind them both sitting in chairs. "Dr. Light, Mr. Xeno, what sort of experiments are you doing here?" The two men chuckle a little until Mr. Xeno answers. "Oh, that's a very complicated question. We're trying to change the world."
I put in another tape that shows a boy close to my younger self's age. "And this is my new friend Xavier. Look at the camera Xavier!" The boy waves at the camera. "Hello!" "So Xavier, do you ever feel nervous or freaked out by some of the robots they build here?" "Not really. I think a lot of them are pretty cool." "What about the glowing rock from outer space?" "Nope." "Boy my friend Xavier is as unshaken as a Rock. Hey! That could be your nickname!" "What Rock?" "Yeah. what do you think?" "Hmm. Rock. It's modern, a little classic. I like it!" The screen changes to the two of us and the robot from before just sitting together on a table side by side.
The two of us yell at the same time. "Rock, Blues, and Maylu. Best friends forever!" The tape keeps playing but I already found my answer. I knew it. The vigilante, Proto-man, Mega-Man, I saw him. I saw them! I saw them. I've known them since I was a little girl. They were my friends. They were my childhood friends, and they were turned into robotic heroes. I'd like to see Ms. Thompson try to turn down this story now!
And so end episode 1 of season 3! Hope you guys enjoyed reading this and look forward to seeing what happens next. Also as I previously said I will be updating this story back to back with Godzilla: New Dawn so be sure to check out the next chapter next month.
For now here is a special reply to reviews. I say special because this is actually a reply to a review from a different story. The reason I'm doing it here is because I didn't want to wait until the next chapter to do so. That said on to the reply!
HEROS Central: I like some of the suggestions you proposed and as a matter of fact I have something to say to each one of them. 1. I was already planning on doing that. 2. I did have something in mind regarding that but now I think I'll take your suggestion and make a few changes to the plot of that chapter. 3. I like it. In fact I'll use that idea and replace what I previously had in mind in a future chapter. 4. I never heard of him but I looked him up and I believe I may have the perfect way to use him. 5. I LOVE IT! Again I never heard of him either and had to look him up but I LOVE IT! In fact I have a small idea of my own but I insist that you PM all the details to me and I'll see what we can make from it!
Anyway until next time this is Tardispilot297 saying… ALLONSY!
