"Cut! That was really good Dave!" Eli calls standing up from his directors chair, he hired Dave to star in his upcoming indie film which was a romance but also suspense.
"Thanks again Eli for this opportunity and you and Clare are still throwing that party on Saturday?" He was referring to the end of summer getting together with friends and families.
Eli noded, "Yes of course we are still throwing and you are one my best friends Dave so you're coming" he gathered up the scripts he had on the table.
"Okay you're you right and if you promise they will be single ladies there so I don't have to feel like a 3rd wheel?" He jokes but honestly he misses a certain science genius who has taste in very high heels.
Alli Bhandari was turning onto a familiar street parking outside a house, she got out locking the car and walking up to the door knocking on the door waiting.
The door opened, "Alli! You made it!" Clare exclaims hugging her best friend tightly, they hadn't seen each other in a while since they saw one another in person.
"Can't breathe" she giggles as Clare lets go and apologises, "And to answer your question I am back and for good I got a job at a research position at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre here in Toronto" she beamed.
Clare was impressed and her jaw dropped, "Wow oh my god that incredible Alli" she was so happy for her best friend but she was always so proud of her and knew Alli would achieve.
"Thank you Clare honestly this means a lot" she chuckles happily looking at Clare, "So what's been going on? What I missed?" She grins.
"Well AJ going into grade 4, my boss gave me the biggest article and Eli and mine annual party is on Saturday and you definitely invited obviously."
"Aw can't believe my godson is growing up so fast" she smiles, "And I'm definitely coming to the party but what time should I be there?"
"Around four?" Clare smiles, then little footsteps come downstairs. It was her and Eli's son Adam Jacob but AJ for short.
"There's my favourite godson!" Alli opens her arms to hug the nine year old, she then looks at him, "Look how tall you are getting wow."
"I'm going into grade 4 aunty's Alli!" The smaller boy exclaims happily.
Alli gasps, "Your mum told me how you are feeling?" She and Clare watch with a smile.
"Pretty good," he answered, while they all caught up and got ready for dinner.
Later that night Dave arrives at his condo, he takes off his shoes by the door as he goes relaxed on his sofa opening up his phone and going on to Hastygram, he noticed Alli who he still followed posted a few hours ago he liked it he always had feelings for her at all she was, his true love his soulmate.
Dave thought about how he should approach Alli which wasn't during Eli and Clare's wedding which was a few years ago and he was filming while Alli was back and forward from Japan or at least that last he heard about Alli and lost contact because of their busy schedules.
Alli's phone vibrated singling she had a notification so she opened up her phone to see a like from Dave she gasps, "Oh my god" her eyes winded as she grins.
Clare was sitting on the sofa next to her looking over from the TV, "What is it?" She wondered what made her best friend like this on her phone.
"Dave just liked my recent photo on Hastygram" she exclaims, showing Clare who took her phone to take a look.
"Wait, you're both in Toronto right?" Clare starts, "Dave working on Eli's new flim and you have a sweet new job" she hands over Alli's phone.
Alli raises an eyebrow, "What are you upto Clare?" She let out a chuckle as she knows Clare very well and has become better over the years.
"How do you know if I'm up to something or not?" Clare puts her hands up in defence jokingly, Alli crosses her arms fake pouts. "Sorry Al can't tell you" she gets up to go find Eli.
Alli shook her head smiling while picking up her phone, she went to Dave's page and liked one of his pictures so they were even.
Clare entered her and Eli's office walking over towards him, "Hey husband" she smiles making him look up with a smile.
"Hi my amazing and very sexy wife" he leans back letting her sit on his lap, "Everything okay?" He looked at her.
"Oh yes, everything good" She reassured him, "Just wondering, Dave definitely coming to the party on Saturday?"
Eli shook his head yes "He is why?" He tilts his head to the sides a little gazing in those pretty eyes of hers.
"Well Alli is also coming and I know we agreed to not meddle in our friends' love lives but I have this feeling that they're meant to be?" She plays with the hem of her shorts.
Eli chuckles knowing Clare might be right because anytime Dave had a girlfriend post Alli it just never really worked out, "You might be onto something but how do we plan on getting them to interact?" He holds on to Clare's waist.
"That the easy part Dave already liked Alli's picture so they are definitely on each other's minds" Clare smiles, "They deserve to have a beautiful love" she always knows Alli deserves the best when it comes to romantic relationships.
"You are right, everyone deserves a great love. We are lucky we found each other back at Degrassi even though we went through so much together."
"We really did and I know Alli and Dave are going to fall back in love I just know it" Clare smiles she really was a hopeless romantic.
Alli was now in the guest bedroom she was sleeping over anyway, laying back scrolling through pictures of her and Dave then stopped at one where Dave has his arm around her the biggest smiles, they were on a double date with Clare and Eli when Dave, Clare and her were in grade 11 those were some of her favourite moments with Dave she reposted the picture on her FaceRange with a status "Wow this feels like so long ago missing times like these " she sent the post smiling before turning off her phone and closing her eyes slowly drifting off to sleep.
