Premonition In The Night Part 3
The next morning, Alan came downstairs to find most of his family in the dining room, seated at the dining room table for breakfast.
Anne was in the kitchen finishing up the breakfast preparations.
"Good morning, Sleepyhead." Suzie said to Alan warmly.
Alan rubbed the sleep from his eyes.
"Is Anne here," Alan asked Suzie. "is she safe?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Suzie exclaimed. "calm yourself down, Alan Joseph Chan!"
Alan sat down at his usual seat at the dining room table as Anne emerged from the kitchen with eleven buttermilk pancake breakfasts on a trolly cart.
"Anne! You're safe! You're safe!" Alan exclaimed.
Anne gave Alan a look of confusion, "What would make you think that I wasn't safe?" she asked Alan, setting plates down in front of each spot at the table, then, sitting down.
"Alan had a bad dream last night." Scooter answered Anne, just before Alan could even speak.
Alan took a big bite of the pancakes on his plate.
"These are delicious, Anne!" Alan exclaimed.
"Glad you like them," Anne said to Alan. "by the way, what was your dream last night about?"
Alan set his fork down and swallowed his bite of pancake hard, "Just a dream about you being in trouble, nearly drowning, that's all." he replied.
"Oh, well, it's a good thing it was only a dream, so, there's nothing to worry about." Anne said to Alan, shrugging her shoulders.
Tom pulled out a book he had with him, "I wouldn't be too certain, I just so happen to have a book on dream interpretation, it clearly states that when an individual has the same occurring dream, it usually means something." he said.
Anne just waved it off, "Ah, dreams don't mean anything, genius, they're just pictures in your head, Alan probably got it from some movie he saw, now, if you'll excuse me, I'm heading to the park in Mom's hometown by bus, to play a nice game of basketball since those corporate jerks took our park out to make room for a new shopping plaza last month." she said.
Anne left her brothers, sisters, and father as she exited the dining room.
Suzie, who had just overheard Anne mentioning her departure, rose from her chair.
"If you're going to the park, make sure you're not out too long, I heard a storm's coming." Suzie reprimanded Anne.
"Yes, Mama Suzie." Anne said sarcastically.
As Anne left the house, Alan became even more concerned by what Suzie had just said.
A storm? Alan thought nervously.
