A/N: I have picked up a big liking to the Sakura Wars franchise and I really, REALLY wished they would have been more popular. So I decided to write an Rosita x Subaru fanfic just for fun. The Sakura Wars franchise belongs to SEGA, RED Company, Kousuke Fujishima and Ouji Hiroi.
At a beautiful night in New York in front of a Koi fish garden, there stands a young girl whose hair is black like night itself and a Noh master. Yes, that's right. It is none other than Subaru Kujo, a member of the New York Combat's Star Division and she was not in a good mood, more like concerned and worried not because of what she failed, it's actually something else. It has to do with Rosarita Aries, or "Rosita" as her friends call her. The reason of her current mood is not pretty at all:
Rosita has been injured during an incident in their mission to find the secret hideout of a mad scientist accused of doing nasty experiments, they were fighting off the creation of his.
"Phew, they were a tough one, eh." Rosita said.
"Really, Rosita? They were easy to defeat." said Subaru
"Geez, that was just a-" Rosita stops her sentence when she sees an machine coming towards Subaru. Oh no, at this rate, it will.... She had to do something. However that was a risky move, and could get her killed, but there was no choice, so she decides to do it anyway.
"SUBARU, WATCH OUT!" was heard from Rosita before she pushed the purple STAR out of the danger zone. And the machine takes a big hit on her STAR, which passes by the purple one before it slams into a wall. the mexican girl's pained scream was heard in comms by the Noh master.
Subaru gasps at what she saw. "ROSITA!" she yelled the young mexican girl's name.
Subaru, witnessing this, was horrified and immediately took out the one responsible in anger. She informed the rest of the STAR pilots of the situation before she got out of her Random STAR and rushed to the damaged Shooting STAR and opened its insides, there was Niccolo, who was unharmed, but terrified and Rosita, who was badly hurt. Shinjiro, Gemini, Diana and Cheiron arrived at the scene and were horrified. She was brought back to the Littlelip Theater for medical care. Thankfully the injuries were not fatal and severe, making Subaru sigh in relief. She was thinking about visiting Rosita, but was unsure if she could. Luckily, the others want to encourage her to do so. Subaru remembered that one time she was teased about her relationship with Rosita by Gemini.
Subaru was at the lunch area of the Little Lip Theater, thinking about Rosita's condition. She was glad that she is okay, though the incident left her exhausted. While she was thinking, Gemini taps on her shoulder, getting the noh master's attention.
"Oh, Gemini, what are you doing here?" Subaru asked the cowgirl.
"Well...you were thinking about Rosita right? I'm glad she is gonna be okay." Gemini said.
"You're right, I was afraid that the injuries would have been fatal for her." Subaru answered.
The cowgirl saw that the Japanese was still thinking about the young mexican, so she decides to ask her a certain question. "Subaru, could it be that you're in love with Rosita?"
"Huh?" The noh master was caught off guard by that question, she is looking at Gemini like she had a loose screw. "Gemini, are you joking? What do you mean that I'm in love with Rosita? Are you talking about romantic feelings?"
Gemini gets an idea. "To be honest, you and Rosita are quite close together when going out for example, just like sisters. So why not?" the cowgirl come close to Subaru and whispers some interesting ideas to her. Subaru blushed at these ideas. "Subaru is embarassed, your ideas are out of the blue." Gemini merely smiled, "Diana would have the same ideas too." she said before leaving the embarassed noh master alone.
Subaru smiled at this embarassing memory. Maybe they could help her get closer to Rosita.
"Ah, Subaru!" A familiar voice called out to her. It was Rosita with her pet weasel Niccolo, who has gotten the OK to be discharged from medical care. She ran up to Subaru and asked with a smile "Did I leave you waiting?"
Subaru shook her head, "No, you didn't." She asked, "Besides, are your injuries still healing? It would be unpleasant if they suddenly reopened." Rosita stops smiling and cringes as she remembers the time she was still recovering from the injuries she sustained from the mission. "My injuires...it hurt a lot...and made me feel funny." Rosita answered.
Subaru, realising she hit a sore spot from the topic, decides to give the mexican girl a headpat. Rosita, feeling the headpat, looks up at Subaru and her face turns a bit red from embarassment "Sorry, Subaru. I didn't mean to ruin the mood. If hadn't stepped in back then, you would have been hurt." she said. "No, it's fine. You did the right thing, albeit you gave me big scare." Subaru assured. Rosita's face (and also Niccolo's face) turned much redder than before as she recalled about Diana asking a similiar question like Gemini did to Subaru. "Uh...When I was discharged, Diana asked me if..." she stopped her sentence as she was embarassed and Subaru stops headpatting her, confused why she stopped and gets close to Rosita. "Can you tell me, what did she say?" she asked.
Rosita looked around to see no one except the two was there, "Actually, Diana asked me if I...was in love with Subaru." she whispered loud for Subaru to hear it. The aloof Japanese was surprised. They got asked the same question by Gemini and Diana, it seems that they saw how close the two were. "And also...Diana told me some interesting ideas." Rosita broke the silence. Subaru was like shocked and clears her throat, "It seems like they had the same ideas for us." she said. She sees Rosita reaching for her hand. "I think we should go now. It's dangerous for you to be alone at night" Subaru said with teasing smile. Rosita, seeing that she's been caught, looks away in embarassment. She feels Subaru's hand holding her, prompting her to look up at the black-haired noh master who had a beautiful smile on her face. It makes her also smile too, forgetting about the embarassing "Are you in love with...?" question. The two decide to go home, holding each other's hand.
A/N: Okay, so this yuri fic turned out good and Sakura Wars was a good franchise during its prime. Hope you leave your thoughts in reviews and keep safe, readers.
