Ch2

Memories of Rama's life passed through Kiritsugu's head. He saw a young Rama bowing to his father, his face solemn while his father had a sad expression on his face.

"I'm sorry son but it has to be this way," The king said his face solemn. "It is my duty to uphold my promises and for that you must leave."

Duty it was his duty to follow his father's words, it was his duty to follow them. As prince and son he was pound to do his duty and follow it.

Rama avoided his father's gaze his face not betraying any emotion, "I understand father. I will do as you command." Rama bowed on last time, he knew this exile wasn't out of malice. His father's hands were tied and his evil step mother took advantage of the situation.

But he felt no anger towards anyone as he left his father's throne room and got ready to back. He was a prince; it was his duty to uphold law and tradition. For one day he will be king and have to uphold the laws and traditions of his people as well.

"Rama dear I'm coming with you," Sita said as she came into the room. Her bright hair complimented her beauty, his heart fluttered as he stared at the love of his life. "I'm sorry my dear but my exile will be tough but I cannot allow you to join me."

"No!" Sita said going up to him and grabbing his arm. "Rama you are the love of my life, I love you and cannot be allowed to be separated from you. We are husband and wife any trials you have I shall share with you."

He smiled at his wife, his heart fluttered in his chest. "Fine. But I will always protect you." The two lovers embraced, he didn't know what future had in store for them but they would face it together. I love you Sita I won't let anyone get in between us.

As they hugged he felt the raw emotions hit him, the sincerity of their love for each other was unlike anything he had experience before. For once in a long time his heart was moved.

Kiritsugu sighed as he got out of bed that morning. He really did lover her didn't he? He got out of bed and got ready for the day. They were all in Japan know and soon the Holy Grail War will start and he intended to win it.

Still he also an idealist. He sighed; he didn't talk often with his servant mainly because he didn't want to argue with Rama. If they argued it would turn very ugly. He wants his wife back I want my family our basic goal is the same even if he will disagree with my methods of winning. Loading his gun with bullets he double checked his rifle and his other weapons.

A knock on the door snapped him out of his thoughts. "Come in," he said as he set the weapons down.

Irisviel and Rama came in both dressed in suits. "We just wanted to check on you dear," she said with a smile.

He nodded. "I'm fine just make sure everything works as planned."

"I hope to have many battles in this war," Rama said firmly. "Rest assured I will not lose."

Their eyes met. Rama's eyes were firm with determination yet he still saw youthful idealism in them. Don't tell me he still believes in honorable heroes. In a way looking at his servant was like looking into the mirror at a reflection he could no longer stand.

Turning around to avoid his servants he looked down at his suitcase, "We won't lose I'll make sure we win," he said.

"We'll be on our way then," Irisviel said as she and Rama left the room. As soon as they left the room he sighed.

I can't tolerate evil. His servant's words still rang in his ears, he shook his head and lit a cigarette. Hopefully he isn't a complete fool, nothing is ever black and white. Either way he knew that he couldn't hide his ways from him forever and if his servant found out his methods it would not end well. We just need to win that's all then we can go our ways.

Rama sat in the car next to Irisviel as they drove around Fuyuki city. Sita I'm coming for you, soon we will be together again. He clenched his fists as the car road through the city.

"Don't worry Saber we will win," Irisviel said reassuringly. His master's wife was calm and determined to win. He had to admit she was a very loyal woman

He smiled and nodded, "I don't intend to lose." The only problem he saw so far was his true master. Though he didn't know much about Kiritsugu Emiya he could tell just by looking at him he wasn't exactly an honorable or dutiful man. Hopefully we don't have any problems; this is my chance to be reunited with Sita and I won't give it up.

Irisviel sat back in the car and looked out the window. "I know Kiritsugu can be harsh but deep down he is doing what is best for us. We are doing this for our family, we can't afford to lose."

"So I heard. I'm doing this to be with Sita again, she was everything to me and I want to be reunited with her as soon as possible." Closing his eyes he saw her and her lovely smile.

"What was Sita like?" Irisviel asked curiously.

"She was the beloved of my life," he said looking down at his hands. "She was the most beautiful woman ever, the most loyal person who ever stood by my side." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as the emotions came to him. "I know I didn't always treat her with the love and respect she deserved. But my love for her is strong and true, I will be with her no matter what."

"I hope you can be reunited with her," Irisviel said firmly. She leaned over and took his hand holding it tightly. He looked over at her gaze it was firm and kind. "Lets do this for our families and loved one."

He nodded, "For those we love." With that they continued to ride throughout the city until he found the presence of a servant. "A servant is near I can sense it's presence."

The car headed towards where the servant was before parking. He had Irisviel walk behind him as they headed towards the a powerful presence of the servant.

The servant came into view. She had tanned brown skin covered in silver armor. Gripping her spear tightly she looked at him with a deadly gaze. "So you're the first to face me huh? Don't tell me that the other servants are a bunch of chumps."

"Saber be careful," Irisviel said as he walked in front of her.

"Don't worry I won't go down," he said. Snapping his amor energy reverberated around him and in a flash of light he was in his bright red and orange while his red sword in his hand. "Lancer I take it? I Saber will be your opponent."

Lancer looked at him a wild smile spread across her face, "Great! You shall be the first person I skewer," she said pointing her spear at him.

Sita here I come. He gripped his sword tightly as Lancer charged at him. He met her spear with his sword as the two exchanged blows. Whoever this animal was in life she fought like a ferocious beast as she repeatedly tried skewer him with a wide grin on her face.

"You're not bad punk," Lancer as she blocked his attack with her spear. "But don't think I'll go down easily."

"I won't lose easily either," he said as he blocked her attack. I will win Sita I swear it. He dodged another blow from her spear and quickly went on the offensive. She is probing my moves. Lancer calmly parried his attacks and he did the same with hers.

They exchanged blows their weapons causing sparks to fly all around them.

I have various weapons at my disposal but the question is how many of them should I use now? The more of the many weapons he was blessed with he used the more likely someone could figure out his identity and use it against him. I must proceed with caution, it appears as if this Lancer also has a lot of tricks under her sleeve.

He couldn't figure out her identity yet but he could tell she had a lot of anger inside of her and was a formidable opponent. Her fighting style and spear are more western than eastern but that hardly deduces anyone.

Dodging Lancer's attack he went for a slash but she blocked it with his spear. "Don't think I'm some chump," she said using her spear to block his attacks. A wicked smile spread across her face, "I'm just getting warmed up."

Avoiding her attacks he dodged from her strikes as she pressed him back. "Am I going too fast for you?" She taunted as he dodged rolled away from her spear. "The grail will be mine if all of the other servants cower like you." She laughed as her spear pierced the ground effortlessly.

"Don't worry I'm far from done," he said gripping his sword tightly. "I need the grail more than you can ever imagine."

Lancer smirked at him. "I know this isn't the best you got and frankly I'm holding back too, lets say we fight seriously now?"

Before he could answer he felt a powerful presence approach them, "Master another servant is approaching get behind me!" He got into a defensive position just as a large chariot descended upon them.

Must be Rider. He looked at the chariot which was pulled by two large oxen and radiated power. Inside was a tall burly man in red and a frightened schoolboy.

"Hello I am the King of Conquerors and have decided if you both wish it you can be my vassals," Rider said with a wide grin.

"Uh no thanks," he said gripping his sword tightly.

"Ah shit you're here too?" Lancer said eying Rider with a look of anger and disgust.

Rider turned to Lancer and scratched his head, "Do I know you?"

Lancer looked Rider up and down as if contemplating whether to kill him now or later. "I'm sure as hell won't submit to you or anyone else."

Rider laughed, "Well either way you seem tough. I hope are blades can cross at least once here."

"So it was you who stole my catalyst Waver Velvet," a sneering voice said. The boy in the green chariot shivered in fear against his servant. "You'll pay for the theft," the voice said.

"I'm afraid you'll have to go through me for that," Rider said firmly.

Lancer frowned in irritation, "What did I say about talking? Let me do the talking and fighting understand?"

"O-Of course my apologizes," the voice said in a flustered tone that didn't hide the fear well.

What kind of servant is she that makes her master cower in fear? He eyed the area cautiously when he felt another powerful presence.

"Who dare calls themselves a king in my presence." Turning around they all saw a man dressed in golden armor with piercing red eyes glare down at them.

Damn it. Three enemy servants this isn't good. He exchanged a look with Irisviel who looked equally worried. They exchanged a look and could see she understood the situation that they were in, a retreat at the moment would be wise.

His thoughts were interrupted by a loud how. A figure from the shadows lunged at the golden man who frowned at it. "You dare approach me? Know your place dog!" Dozens of golden portals opened around the man that fired weapons at the knight shrouded in darkness.

"Those are all noble phantasms?" Irisviel said in awe.

Rider then Berserker, he must be an Archer. He could tell by just looking at him that this man would be a very tough opponent. Don't worry Sita I'll make sure to win at all costs. His mind raced through what he could do, his noble phantasm could might take them out but it would be foolish to use it this early on.

The shadowy figure skillfully dodged the attacks and even used some of the weapons against its owner causing the golden armored man to glare at it in disgust. "You dare touch my treasures?"

Archer was about to launch more attacks but was stopped. "You dare summon me? I won't forgive you for this humiliation." Archer then turned to. "This isn't over. Next time make a show worthy of a king." With that, Archer disappeared into the night only for Berserker to follow.

"Well that was something," Lancer said turning to him. "Lets call this match off for another time."

He looked at Irisviel who nodded. "Sounds good to me."

Rider nodded as well, "I hope to do battle against both of you in the future."

With that the two enemy servants headed back to the hideout. "They are strong but I won't be taken down easily," he said turning to Irisviel.

She smiled at him, "Don't worry we will support you in winning."

He nodded. Sita this is the first battle, in your name I will fight.
