Wade woke up with a jolt, an empty beer bottle in his hand, and a crick in his neck from dozing off on the couch.

Another knock on the door got his attention; he ran a hand over his face before checking the clock.

"Who in the hell..? It's four o'clock in the-" He tore open the door to find a familar figure standing there. "Morning."

"I couldn't get on the plane," Zoe told him, swallowing hard. "I just couldn't, Wade, because... the truth is I love you too."

And then she kissed him and the world made sense again.
