Author's Note: Heya guys, great news! I'm finally back after finishing up my first year of college and I've got an entire summer to write another story for you all to hopefully enjoy. Please leave feedback to help me improve my content and I'll see ya'll on the first chapter.

Prologue

What stands before pokemon trainer Nate was a nightmare. The legendary ice dragon Kyurem under the control of the leader of Team Plasma, Ghetsis.

"Come now, Trainer. This time no one will save you! But to make things interesting, I'll give you a chance. Let's see if you can stop THIS Kyurem!"

"Emboar! Use brick break!"

Kyurem has fainted…

"I can't believe it! The Kyurem I went to all the trouble of preparing! How irritating! Now I have to go re-control Kyurem, don't I? But first, I'll take down this disgusting Trainer with my own hand! This time I WILL succeed! No matter what they try, no one will be able to stop me!"

Deep in the Giant Chasm in Unova, two almighty trainers face off in a battle for the fate of the region until one pokemon remained on each side...

"Emboar! Flamethrower!"

"Hydreigon! Use rock slide!"

The emboar took a deep breath in through its nostrils, but before it could release a hot wave of flames, the dark dragon pummeled the fire boar endlessly with falling rocks until it couldn't get up anymore...

Emboar has fainted…

Nate is out of usable pokemon…

Nate lost against Team Plasma Ghetsis…

The victor laughs maniacally, then takes his cane and thrusts it into the air, calling the Unovian legendary ice dragon back in control. He slams his cane into the ground, points his cane towards his defeated opponent, and yells, "Now Kyurem! Use glaciate!"

Nate blacked out…

Five days later...

That's all I've been told of what happened before accepting this task at hand. I continue leaning on the safety rail on my cruise ship en route to Unova from Kanto, pondering to myself what mess I've gotten myself into.

My name is Jamie, I once was an ordinary trainer like everyone else from Pallet Town. I was so close to becoming the champion until I lost at the very end. I thought it was the end of my journey until I received a new reason to continue training: to stop Team Rocket and their brainwashing radio waves. By taking on this threat, I became closer to my pokemon as they gained the gift of speech. In exchange, we also gained struggles down the road, but we regrouped and retrained to strike Team Rocket back into the ground. At first, I thought little of Team Plasma as another petty criminal organization, but after taking the time to process what exactly happened, I'm starting to regret my choice.

After a minute of thinking I hear something roll by my side and look down to see Sparkbomb, my electrode. "Sup Boss! You look a bit… 'on edge'!" Sparky jokes.

I couldn't help but laugh and slap the rail that's actually on the edge. "Yes Sparky, I am indeed on edge," I replied, still laughing. "I'm just concerned about what I've signed us up for."

"Are you trying to sell us short or something?" Sparkbomb scoffs with a smirk, "We've kicked Team Rocket's butt extra hard three years ago and we're still kicking butt ever since. Remember the time when we had to stop a snorlax from raiding all of Kanto's farmer markets? Or when we had to calm a group of nidokings and nidoqueens while Professor Oak and his team saved their younglings from a fallen tree?"

"Yeah, but this task we accepted is on a different scale to Team Rocket, let alone the numerous mini-adventures we went on after dealing with Team Rocket," I replied with a hint of worry. Then, I hear a loud crash coming from the midsection of the cruise. Then I see Vineguard, my male victreebel and vanguard in special operations, dragging two scruffy guys by the legs with his vines with Sky, my female dragonair with scale color matching the sky, slithering behind Vine with a worried expression.

Without hesitating, Vine bluntly states, "I've caught these two people stalking Sky for the past three days since we boarded this ship. Considering the value of her species in international waters, they're most likely trying to find her trainer to possibly mug from or worse."

At that note, Sky nearly loses it and tightly wraps herself around me and buries her face deep in my chest in fear of Vine's prediction. "Wo- Woah there Sky! P- Please relax now! It's okay… really… I'm fine…" I tried calming Sky, but it had little effect.

She pulls out her teary face and thrusts it into mine in great distress. "But what if you're not okay!" Sky shrieks, "What happens if something happens to you and… And…"

I manage to yank my arms free from her coils and give her a warm hug and assure Sky that I'll be fine. Meanwhile, Vine is dragging the two stalkers off to a ship crew member and possibly pressing charges on them. Amid the chaos, Sparkbomb rolls up to me and calls out, "See what I mean Boss? We're not some garden variety pokemon to be messed with. We can get a firm grip in battle until we steamroll the competition!"

Seeing Vineguard tracking and apprehending those potential thieves did bring some confidence back into me, but I still wonder if our skills and experiences are enough to take on a psycho with a legendary.
