Chapter Eight: The Scorpion & The Snake-Bearer
Pope Sage's Point of View
By: Lady Mochizuki
I'm watching my granddaughters Belladonna and Briana spar with my twin brother, Ara Hakurei and Cancer Manigoldo, as a test run for their upcoming trials. I watched as my granddaughters either tag-teamed Hakurei or fought one on one. I laugh when Briana pats Hakurei on his ass as she slides through his legs with a playful look.
I called a halt because I could see that playful naughty smirk on my younger granddaughter's face, which could spell trouble for Hakurei. Never mind, he is a Silver Saint because my Briana could pull pranks far more elaborate than her sister could ever pull, and if she decides to pull one during a sparring match is much worse.
I'm proud of my little girls, who are no longer little girls. I may not have had a chance to make things right with their mother, Nyssa, but I ensured I did so with my granddaughters. I watched as my granddaughters shook hands with their sparring partners as Virgo Asmita and Pisces Albafica came to collect my granddaughters. I watched as the girls did their secret handshake and giggled.
My granddaughters were, of course, twins, but unlike Hakurei and me, we're identical twins. My granddaughters were fraternal twins. Bells (my nickname for Belladonna) took after their father, Wyvern Rhadamanthys, while Brie took after their grandmother Helena (black hair and red eyes).
It was a week before the girl's trial, a very distressed Virgo Asmita came to me with a weeping Belladonna and a very pissed-off Briana. Apparent to her adopted uncle Manigoldo, and Bells told him about her crush on Scorpio Kardia. Manigoldo and Kardia don't like each other, so Manigoldo imposes his dislike upon Bells and forbids my granddaughter from dating someone like Karida.
Sighs.
I heard Briana intervene on her sister's behalf and tell Manigoldo to go to hell and rot there. ( I know my younger granddaughter didn't mean it, but when it comes to her kind-hearted twin sister, Brie's just like Hakurei.). I watched as Brie paced back and forth, watching her sister cry. I swear my granddaughters are Scorpios but Bells acts and behaves like a Cancer, while Brie acts and behaves like a Leo.
Sighs.
Brie had walked out, and I had a pretty good idea where my younger granddaughter had gone. And if I'm right, Karida will get an earful from Brie, and I might also have to protect Manigoldo from Brie.
"Athena, help me." I thought to myself.
So the day of the Trials of Athena, Briana had already won Lupus Armour, and her twin sister Bells was up next. The crowd cheered as Bells fought against Alexander, a giant of a young man. I watched as my oldest granddaughter unleashed a fury of punches and kicks as her eyes fell on a specific Cancer and Scorpio Saint who was watching, rendering Alexander unconscious.
I smiled proudly at my oldest granddaughter as I heard my younger cheer her older sister. I watched as Scorpio Kardia walked right up to Bells and stood right in front of Bells. I could see the black eye that I could only guess was Briana's doing. I watched as Kardia dropped to one knee while taking Bell's hand and handing her blue roses.
Bells blushed as she threw her arms around his neck and kissed him right before everyone. Karida lifted Bells in his arms and returned the kiss. Everyone cheers for the happy couple.
I cleared my throat as I awarded my oldest granddaughter the Ophiuchus Armour. I'm a proud grandfather of both girls' accomplishments. I did warn Kardia that if he breaks my Bells heart, I would also break him.
End of this Chapter!
