In the Sea of Sand, Pythor was digging in a ditch that was already the width and diameter of building, with Burmesia, Skales and Selma helping out. Skales and Pythor were shoveling while Burmesia and Selma were dumping bucks of sand to the pile as Skales looked at Pythor.
"We're wasssting out time, Pythor. There'sss nothing here but sssand and dust." Skale pointed out.
"And we've been digging ssso long it'sss already passst lunch!" Burmesia complained as she held her growling belly.
"No time for breaksss, young lady, just keep Digging!" Pythor said as he kept shoveling away. "The Lossst City of Ouroborosss isss under usss. I know it!" He said stubbornly.
"Oh, Pythor, are you that desssperate to find it to unite the tribesss?" Selma asked in confusion as she brought them some water.
"Yes, let's face it, your first attetp to unite the tribes failed, and now that you have lost your flock, you've become desssperate." Skales said in agreement as he accept the water Selma offered as he took a sip.
Pythor did not accept the water and relented on continuing digging, "I am deserpate, my disloyal Sssecond and Third in command, but only to bring our kind together ssso we can unleash the Great Devourer!" He declared.
"Uncle, you put too much faith in the old legendsss." Burmesia said, slithering next to him, "Besssidesss, from what Father once told be the Devourer wasss almossst imposssssible to control. "
"Not to mention that all the Ssserpentine know isss to be at war with one another." Selma added. "Meaning it would take a miracle to unite them now."
Pythor shovel then hit something as he shifted away away the sand and beamed as he saw a stone circle with the symbols of the five tribes in it. He chuckled and turned to his niece and the two Hypnobrai, "Ssskalesss, Ladiesss, I believe we have found our miracle." He said as he turned the switch as the area around them began to rumble.
The sand started to sink into the ground revealing a spiral on the ground and around them, a few snake staties and buildings began to appear from the sand forming a ring. Skales, Selma and Burmesia looked around in shock at what was happening while Pythor gazed on it reverence as they stood in what looked like an arena and before them was a giant snake statue in front of them.
"I present to you the city formerly known as the Lost City of Ouroboros." Pythor announced.
Somewhere in Ninjago, the Bounty is moving pass the mountains with Umbra on deck resting as behind the bounty was the mailman riding his bike with wings while holding a package, since he heard that the bounty flies and moves around, he needed someway to get to it to deliver mails.
"Wait. Slow down." The postman called out to the bounty as he kept peddling. "I have a package for Sensei Wu!" He called as Umbra perked up and turned to see him.
Wu then come by as he notice Umbra's expression. "What is it girl?" He asked as Umbra growled and pointed her muzzle behind the bounty as Wu followed her gazed as he saw the postman. "Oh, they're finally here." He smiled and gestured for Umbra to go get the Mailman as she took flight and went over to the Mailman.
Umbra flew back while holding the mailman's bike with him on it as she dropped him on deck. The Mailman panted in exhaustion from the amount of pedaling he did. "You should be careful, we normally do not stay in one place." Wu advised to the mailman.
"Don't worry, this isn't the first time I delivered mail to strange places." The mailman said as he caught his breath. "Though, it would be nice if you guys pick a landing spot."
"My apologies, but in these times we cannot take many risks." Wu explained before seeing the package. "I see that they have finally came."
"Oh, yes. Here you go." The mailman said as he gives Wu the package. "Though, I'm glad your dragon here saw me, I was about to lose my breath."
"In that case, Umbra will take you back to solid ground while you recover your energy." Wu said as he walked back to the Dining area.
The Mailman turned to Umbra as she gave a quizzable growl and tilted her head to him, "Hehe, nice lizard?" He asked nervously.
In the dining area, the Ninja are having some tea while they listen to Lloyd talking about his battle strategy against the Serpentine.
"First, I'll stomp his tail." Lloyd said. "Then when he turns, a Jay clap to his ears." He added as Wu enters the dining area. "Then when he's stunned, I'll disarmed him."
"Too late, he's already hypnotized you and now you're under his control." Cole spoke up, speaking from his experience with the Hypnobrai.
"Or he's already put you in a squeeze." Zane said, clenching his fist as he remember he remembered being crushed by Constritai.
"Or he bit you and now you're slowly becoming one of them." Jay said, remembering the effects of the Fangpyre bit.
"Or spit on you with his hallucinatory venom." Kai said. "Trust me, bad stuff." He shook his head at the thought of the Venomari's spit.
"Or he's already turned invisible, snuck up on you from behind and has proceeded to swallow you whole." Lydie finished, describing the Anacondrai.
Lloyd sighed, realizing he didn't think about which kind of Serpentine he was fighting, "Ah, Uncle, what's the best way to stun a Serpentine if you don't know what kind they are?" He asked as Wu sat down.
"Sadly, it was the sacred flute your sister carelessly lost." Wu scolded them.
"Hey, no, no, no, we didn't lose it." Lydie defended. "I told you that Pythor stole it."
"Whatever the case, without it I fear we have nothing to combat their powers." Wu said as he poured his tea. "We may have prevented them from uniting in the past, but they will try again, and one day they will be stronger."
"Don't worry. I've almost reached my full potential and when I become the Green Ninja, we're not going to need any magic flute." Cole bragged.
"You're gonna be the Green Ninja?" Kai asked as he laughed sarcastically. "Don't make me laugh."
"I thought it was decided that I was destined to become the Green Ninja." Zane said.
"Oh! The only thing decided about you, Zane, is that you're weird." Jay told him before all but Lydie started arguing about who's going to be Green Ninja.
Lydie sighed tiredly with a hand to her face, "Not this again." She moaned.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Lloyd said as walked over to his Uncle. "What's in the box?"
"You're new Ninja Gis." Wu answered as he opened the box to show five new ninja gis with the Ninjas' glowing emblems on them.
The five Ninja gasped in surprise before excitedly, grabbing each of their suits.
"Whoa! They've got like armor." Jaay said excitedly as he looked as his.
"I love the gold highlights." Kai said when he looked at his.
"Battle claws." Cole noted.
"The material is really light and breathable." Zane stated.
"These are way more modern and more upgraded than our old ones." Lydie commented as she look at her purple gi and noted the slight details.
"Oh. Nothing for me?" Lloyd said in disappointment.
Wu turned to his nephew, realizing that he didn't get Lloyd anything like the others as he looked around nervously. "Oh, um, you get, uh, this box?" He said as he gave the empty box to Lloyd, who looked down in disappointment.
Lydie notice this. "Uncle, how could you forgot Lloyd? I mean sure he's isn't a ninja, but he could at least get something other than his hoodie." She said before scooting over to Lloyd pulling him into a hug, "Tell you what, maybe later you and I can work on your own suit together." She suggested.
"Awesome!" Lloyd said excitedly, but the moment was short live when the alarm went off.
The group went up to the bridge as they as Cole went up to a consol of the map of Ninjago.
"Sorry to break up the moment, guys, but a small faction of our slithering friends are stirring up trouble over at Mega-Monster Amusement Park." Cole informed as the screen showed the snakes attack the amusement park.
"Amusement park?" Lloyd asked excitedly as he move around the others. "Can I go? Can I go with you, please?" He pleaded them, wanting to have fun at the amusement park. "Let me make things up. I can help!"
"I'm sorry, nephew." Wu said apologetically. "You will stay here, where it's safe."
"Oh. Ninja get all the fun." Lloyd whined.
Lydie frowned before smiling and turned to Wu, "Actually Uncle, Lloyd can stick with me, I've been wanting us to have some fun for a while now."
"Are you certain, my niece?" Wu asked uncertainly. "It could still be dangerous for Lloyd."
"We handled these snakes everytime. The fight would be over the moment we land on the ground. They got nothing to match us in combat." Lydie assured with a wave.
Wu hummed in thought before nodding and turning to Lloyd, "Very well, Nephew. You may go." He said as Lloyd clapped his hand excitedly, "But stay close to your sister and do exactly as she says."
"I will, uncle! I promise!" Lloyd excitedly said as he came up next to his sister.
"What do you say, boys?" Lydie asked her team with a smirk. "Time to try out the new merchandises and have fun after words?" She asked while holding her new suit.
The others chattered in agreement as they look at their new gis in excitement.
A few minutes later, the Ninja are in their new gis, complete with gold/silver shoulder pads and crowns on their masks with some armors on parts of their suits with their highlights reflecting off them.
"This new stuff feels like It's really protect us." Cole commented.
"Yet provides more mobility." Zane noted.
"Now this is a fashion change of pace we needed and to combat the Serpentine more better." Lydie commented as she and Lloyd got on Umbra's back, who a few minutes ago drop the mailman on the ground after getting him off the bounty.
"You wanna strut on the catwalk, or get down to that park so we can go on some rides?" Jay asked them as the boys brought out their Weapons.
"I love a good old-fashion roller coaster, but nothing beats this." Kai said as he and the boys each leaped off the Bounty and summon their vehicles as they fell towards the amusement park below.
"Oh, boys." Lydie said as she shook her head before turning to her brother. "Better hang on tight, Lloyd. Because I think Umbra's gonna spread her wings." She advised as Umbra jumped off the bounty and flew down after Ninja as Lloyd whooped in excitement.
When they are near the amusement park, the boys' vehicle vanished as Lydie carried Lloyd and jump off Umbra as the five did a flip and jump off a small building as they landed in a pose, though Lloyd's came out a little sloppy and the wrong direction before turned back around.
"Ha! Check that out." Cole said as he look over himself. "And not a scratch on me." He commented.
They then hear the crowd cheering as they look up and saw the crowd cheering for something.
"Ha-ha! Ladies, relax, relax, we've arrived." Jay said pridefully.
But as the people moved aside the Ninja were surprised to see the Serpentine had already been tied up. "Uh, what just happened?" Kai asked one of the people in the crowd.
"Oh, you totally miss it." A woman said. "There were like icy snakes, and ten this mysterious Samurai came in and save everyone." She explained.
"He was, like, gorgeous." A girl said while feeling fanstruck.
"You saw his face?" Kai asked her in surprise.
"Oh no, but we could like totally tell." She answered before Nya suddenly walks and gives the girls some Ice cream.
"Nya, you're here." Jay said in surprise.
"Yeah, you just missed the action." Nya said to them. "He just flew in, took care of business, and then flew off. It was pretty cool."
"That knocking-Ninja-out guy again?" Lydie questioned with a brow. "How did he came here before us since we just got the alert a few minutes ago? And for that matter, how did you got down here, Nya?" She questioned suspiciously.
"Uh, I was um, I got down here before you all did while you got into your new suits?" Nya asked nervously.
Luckily Nya caught a break as they heard the crowd chatting. "I don't wanna be a ninja. I wanna be a samurai." The boy complained to his mother as he was dragged away from her.
"The Samurai is my new hero." A man commented to his friend.
"I knew the Samurai could kick the ninjas butts." Another from the crowd commented as the others heard it.
"Ugh, who is this guy?" Kai questioned.
"Whoever he is, he's stealing our Jay." Cole commented.
"And we just got these cool new ninja suits." Jay complained.
"Not to mention being a total showboater." Lydie said with her arms crossed. "If he thinks he can handle the Serpentine on his own, he's in for a nasty surprise."
"Oh I don't know, with all his gear I think it's the Snakes who are in for a nasty surprise." Nya said as she walked away.
Jay looked shocked at her, "And now he's got Nya as a fan?!" He demanded as he grumbled and crossed his arms, "Argh! I'm gonna say it, I hate Samurai." He said.
Lydie sigh as she looked at her brother. "Lloyd, how about you have fun in some of the rides or something, we'll catch up with you later." She said as she gave her brother some money.
"Thanks, sis!" Lloyd said as he run off to have fun in the amusement park.
Lydie gave her brother a small smile before she turned to the boys. "But seriously, this Samurai guy shows up in our neighborhood and thinking he can do better than us, that's low and not right if he respects honor." She added.
"Do I hear a hint of jealousy?" Wu asked asking approached them while he has cotton candy. "Maybe this can be a lesson for you."
"No! Not another less-" Jay complained before he realized something. "Hey, how did you get down here so quickly?" He questioned.
"Did you and Nya landed the bounty nearby that quickly, uncle?" Lydie asked in surprise.
Wu didn't answer them as he continued. "The lesson is: iron sharpens iron." He told them.
"I do not follow, sensei." Zane said.
"Healthy competition can help you reach your true potential faster." Wu told them as he walked by them. "Do not be jealous of the Samurai, let it inspire you." He said before he turned and saw something that made him gasp in excitement, "Ooh, Ferris wheel!" He cheered with glee as he ran towards the ferris wheel.
"Inspire?" Jay asked as he was confused by that lesson.
"Wait a minute. Maybe the old stallion's right." Kai said.
"You want us to compete with the samurai?" Cole asked. "He's got all the cool gadgets, we don't stand a chance."
"No, not with him. With us." Kai explained. "I say we turn this into our own competition, whichever of us is skilled enough to catch this mysterious Samurai is probably the best of the bunch." He said as draw out his sword and spooked a man walking past them.
"So whoever learns the identity of this Samurai is the one who will become the destined Green Ninja." Jay said before he pulled out his nunchucks. "Ha! I love it."
Lydie then raised a finger, "Um guys? What about the Serpentine?" She asked them, "Gottta stop them from uniting remember?"
"We can do both, Lydie." Jay assured. "From what we can tell, the Samurai is also fighting the Serpentine. Between us and him, those snakes are as big a problem as dust bunnies."
"And not to mention that we might catch him in between those attacks so we can know his identity." Zane added.
"So we can stop the Serpentine, catch the Samurai and finally prove who's the Green Ninja all at the same time." Kai declared with an eager smirk under his mask.
Lydie looked between them as she sighs. "I would say I'm against them, but I'm outvoted." She concede.
"Then it's a bet." Cole said. "May the Green Ninja win."
"NINJA, GO!" All four shouted while Lydie shook her head.
"I feel like this might come back and bite us." Lydie said to herself.
Back on the Destiny's Bounty in the bridge room, the alarm was wailing like crazy as Nya checked the monitor. "Multiple snake sightings! They're everywhere!" She said before each ninja took a different location. Once they were gone she smirked to herself, "Which means, I've gotta be everywhere too." She said.
Zane headed up in the mountains on his bike to a snowy village, where the Serpentine were attacking the villagers. When he arrived, he found the Samurai had beaten to him and have captured the snakes before him.
The Samurai laughed before he took off giving Zane a mocking wave.
"Metal menace!" Zane shouted as he threw a snowball in frustration.
In a forest, three Constrictai approached Kai as he took a battle stance and ready to fight.
"Go, ninja, go!" Three girls cheered as they watch. Just then, the Samurai scooped up the three Constrictai in a metal net. "Oh, Samurai, oh!" The three girls gushed over the Samurai.
Seeing this, Kai turned to the Samurai with narrow eyes, "NINJA, GO!" Kai shouted as he did Spinjitzu and spun his way over to the Samurai. The Samurai however, launched a net and caught him in it. "Aah! Hey, what's going on?"
In the old chamber of the Scythe of Quakes, some Venomari and Fangpyre charged at the Samurai. The Samurai used his mech to swing its sword and knocked them back. Cole jumped on an edge of a cliff behind the Samurai.
"Now I've got you. Unh! Ha ha!" Cole shouted as he jumped on the mech's arm, only for the arm to launch like a rocket and Cole flying into the wall. He groaned as he slid down the wall.
Jay was wearing a pink dress and a blonde wig as he laid down on train tracks with a train coming.
"Help! Samurai, where are you? Oh!" Jay shouted as he acted like a damsel in distress. The Samurai landed next to him, holding some train tracks before he placed each track down and redirected the train around and away from Jay.
"Ugh! Stupid Samurai!" Jay shouted as the Samurai as he threw away his wig.
And then, it was Lydie's turn, even though she disagreed on this idea, she could at least tried to talk to the Samurai about this whole showboating Serpentine take down.
As Lydie was hiding behind a tree with some exact replica of Anacondrai goons who are 'attacking' villagers as the Samurai landed and then it exit the cockpit and attacked one of them, which resulted in cutting it in half.
"What?" The Samurai asked in great confusion before he was tackled by Lydie, who jumped from the tree as they rolled across the ground before Lydie manage to get on top of him.
"Okay, Samurai, I would like to have a word with you" Lydie said as she saw the Samurai about to spray her with knock out gas again from his wrist like last time, but Lydie caught it and got both arms to the ground. "Sorry, but I'm not falling for that trick twice." She said with a look.
"Get off me, ninja." The Samurai demanded as he struggled. "You will not learn my identity." He stated.
Lydie just smirked, "Maybe, but I can tell a Fulan wannabe when I see her." She said.
"Who are you calling wannabe?" The Samurai asked before realizing what she just said. "Wait, what makes you think I'm a 'her'?" He asked.
Lydie raised a brow, and removed the armor chest plate and revealed the Samurai's slim and female shaped body, "I know when a girl is trying to hide the girl parts of her body well. And if you wanna make it look good, at least make it more subtle." She advised.
"Okay, so you know I'm a girl. But you don't know my name." The Samurai stated as she and Lydie stood up. "So, what is it that you wanted to tell me?" She asked.
"I wanted to say to stay out of the Serpentine business." Lydie said with a firm look as she crossed her arms. "My friends and I can handle them and if you wanna help, then fight with us and not competing with us."
"And why would I do that?" The Samurai asked. "I'm just doing what I think is right for Ninjago." She explained.
"Yeah, while we appreciate your attentions, but you can't go solo act like this." Lydie said as she circled around. "Not to mention that you are being a Serpentine-fight showoff, the guys are turning your identity into a game, distracting both of you from the real enemy."
"Really, well let them try." The Samurai waved off. "I saw their attempts, and they couldn't even lay a finger on me, though the blue one didn't even try with the whole damsel in distress thing." He added with a shrug.
"That's Jay. And yeah, don't know why he thought of that idea." Lydie said in wondered before she return to the topic. "Regardless, that doesn't mean you should underestimate the Serpentine, your suit might be able take on a small scouting group, but against a whole army, no one warrior can't take on that many." She pointed out.
"Thank for your concern, but I can manage fine." The Samurai said as she began to walk back to her mech. "Why don't you just go back to your team and sit this one out? I can handle the snakes myself." She said as she hopped onto the mech.
"Being a ninja means sticking together and relying on each other." Lydie told the Samurai.
"Well I'm not a Ninja." The Samurai shot back as she flew away.
Lydie watches the Samurai flew away as she crossed her arms. "For a warrior with higher honor, you have less honor at being a ninja." She said to herself before she walked off.
Kai on his bike stops in front of an arcade and let Lloyd off. "Okay, I know it's my turn to look after you, but just play a few games and stay put while I look around." He then gives Lloyd some bits. "I have a feeling the Samurai may show up."
"Oh, let me help." Lloyd asked.
"No." Kai quickly responded.
"Come on. At least drop me off at a decent arcade." Lloyd said.
"Sorry, shorty." Kai told him before he drove off.
"Kai, wait!" Lloyd called out, but he was gone. "Why couldn't Lydie drop me off at a better place?" He muttered as h turned to enter the arcade before he heard some voices down an alley.
"I heard he found it." Skales told some Serpentine. "And everyone is gathering again."
"Impossible." A Fangpyre said. "The Lost City does not exist."
"Well, it isn't lost anymore. Ha ha. And I hear there's gonna be a fight." Skales told them.
"Pythor assent usss to tell you all so you could watch the fight." Selma added.
"A fight? Count me in." A Venomari said. Lloyd listened in on their conversation and knew he had to do something. He watched as they were getting on a serpent bus, and felt like that it will take them to this 'Lost City.'
"All a board. Next ssstop, Ouroborossss." Skales announced. Lloyd walked back to the arcade and saw a snake costume in the shop's window. That's when he got a little crazy idea. Sounds of maracas rattling as Lloyd bought the costume and makes his way to the serpent bus. After a Constrictai got on, Lloyd was next. "Hey, you, hold it there." Skales told Lloyd, which means Lloyd worried. "Last one in closes the door." He joked.
"Uh, sssure thing." Lloyd said as he is relieved the disguised works. Lloyd close the door before the serpent bus took off.
The bus was going a long way as it became nightfall and after a few more miles, Lloyd looked out the window and sees a snake statue as the bus reach its destination, The Lost City of Ouroboros. At the center of the city, all the Serpentine have gathered in the stadium for this big fight. Lloyd sits among the Serpentine as they waited for the fight to begin.
Burmesia turns to Pythor in concern, "Are you sure thisss isss right?" She asked her uncle.
"Just do as I've said dear, and I promise you three will be my most lieutenant, forever." Pythor whispered to Burmesia before they both put on ear plugs. "I bring you together to the Lost City of Ouroboros, before the statue of our very own Great Devourer, to speak of unity!" He announced to all Serpentine.
"Where are the fights?!" One Serpentine asked.
"Where is the big show?!" Another shouted.
"Slither Pit! Slither Pit! Slither Pit!" They all chanted, wanting for the fight. Pythor saw this and growled before he turned to Burmesia as she subtly slipped him something before the male anacondrai jumped to the center of the stadium.
"You want a show?! You want to see a fight?!" Pythor shouted. "I asked for your allegiance but you will not give it! So I will take it!" The other four Serpentine Generals stood in front of him.
"What are you saying?!" Fangtoml demanded.
"I challenge the four tribe generals for their staffs and their allegiance! At once!" Pythor challenged as all the other Serpentine cheered.
"I fought hard to earn thisss ssstaff and I will not give it up easssily." Skales said as he and the other three generals approached Pythor.
"There's no way he can defeat the four of us at once." Skalidor said as he he swung his staff at Pythor and missed. Other than swung his tail at him and spun him around before he ducked under Acidicus's attack and punched him in the face. The Fangtom and Skales tried to attack together, but Pythor swung his tail and knocked them back before the four generals dog piled on him. Pythor then pulls out the Sacred Flute Burmesia slipped him before the fight he stole before and began to play it.
"Oh. He's using the Sacred Flute against his own." Lloyd whispered as the generals and all the Serpentine in the audience yelled out in pain from the music while covering their ears holes.
"My earsss!" Skalidor shouted in pain.
"The pain!" Skales cried out.
"Make it ssstop!" Fangtom begged.
"It hurts!" The Venomari General yelled out. Pythor then took the opening the generals gave him and knocked them down one by one and took their staffs.
"Bow to your master." Pythor told the generals as he threw the staffs before them. "Bow to your master, Serpentine!" He shouted as the generals bow down to him before every Serpentine in the stadium bow down to him as well. As Lloyd bow his head, the hat of his costume slipped down and when he went to fix it, he dropped the two maracas and they fell into the stadium. Pythor and Burmesia saw this and just when Lloyd was about to leave, an Anacondrai grabbed him with his tail.
"Where do you think you're going?" The Anacondrai growled as Lloyd's disguise fell and he was exposed.
"Lloyd?!" Burmesia growled as Lloyd gulp in fear.
"Uh, hey, Burmesia." Lloyd said nervously with a nervous smile. "How've you been?" Before he gulped again.
The next day on the Destiny's Bounty, the ninjas have gathered in the dining room for some lunch. "Trying to find out the Samurai's identity is more of a nuisance than the snakes." Cole complained. "Any luck with you?" He asked Jay.
"The guy's elusive. He's like a ghost." Jay complained. "One moment he's there, the next he's gone."
"I am starting to believe we might never catch him." Zane said.
"I think it's safe to say, none of us are closer to proving we're the Green Ninja." Kai said just as Wu walked in.
"Told you guys." Lydie said simply. "Oh and by the way, the Samurai is a girl, not a boy." She informed them.
"What?!" The boys all called out as they look at her. "Do you know who it is?!" Jay asked eagerly.
"Sorry, boys. But I only saw the body shape of the Samurai to know she's a girl." Lydie said while sipping her tea. "Besides, the challenge was for you guys to find out her identity on your own."
"Yeah, well it's not working out so well." Kai sighed.
"At least we know the Samurai is a female." Zane said in optimist.
"Looks like iron is sharpening iron." Wu said. "I feel you getting closer to your true potential." He told as he squeezed Cole's arm.
"Ow." Cole moaned
Lydie chuckled before she noticed that Lloyd wasn't here. "Um, guys, where's Lloyd?" She asked before turning to Kai. "I thought you were looking after him, Kai."
"I thought Cole was gonna pick him up." Kai said.
"I went to the arcade, but he wasn't there." Cole explained. "Jay was-"
"Don't bring me into this." Jay quickly said. "I babysat yesterday."
"Sensei, Lydie, we have not seen him." Zane said.
Lydie stood up in shock as she place her hands on the table. "You boys lost my brother!?" She yelled in rage as the others flinched from her outburst.
"Now, calm down, Captain."Jay tried to say calmly.
"Be quiet!" Lydie yelled at Jay as the blue ninja fell on his back from the outburst. "My brother is out there alone, and you guys are bringing this up now if you didn't see him!?" She questioned them. "What was going through your heads to not focus on watching my brother?!" She demanded.
"Um, trying to find out who's the Green Ninja?" Cole answered nervously as Lydie growled.
Wu then placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her down, "Whati's important now is that we must find the boy." Wu told them.
"Time to move out, boys!" Lydie yelled as she stood up. "And double time!" She ordered loudly as the boys quickly stood up and saluted.
"Yes, Ma'am!" They shouted in unison and were out of the room as Lydie followed them with a huff.
Wu and Nya watched her go as Nya gave a concern while Wu is having a thought. "Lydie is sure ticked off at the boys leaving her brother behind." Nya commented.
"Mm, like any older sibling, they cared for each other very deeply." Wu said as he stroke his beard. "And I can see she cares very deeply for Lloyd, and soon, she might unlock something that wasn't there before." He added.
"Like what, Sensei?" Nya asked curiously.
"Something that will unlock her elemental powers." Wu answered.
The ninjas soon drove to the same arcade where Kai left Lloyd.
"Lloyd? Lloyd?" Kai called out as he opened the door to the arcade. "He was right here. Someone must have seen him."
"Kai, I swear if anything happens to Lloyd, it's on your head!" Lydie warns as she got in the fire ninja's face.
"Don't worry captain, We'll find him." Cole promised as he looked around and saw a camera up on a pole. "Hey, guys. Check this out." He said when he saw the camera. They soon went into the arcane's monitor room and checked the footage.
"Wait, wait, there's the pipsqueak." Jay pointing out when he saw Lloyd on the monitor. "Play that back." They rewind the footage before resuming it and watched as Lloyd went into the store then came out with the serpentine costume before going down an alley. "What is he up to?" They soon went down the same alley and sees some footprints.
"I sense these are Lloyd's hoofprints, but they come to an end here. Why?" Zane wondered.
"Something tells me we're going for a ride." Lydie said when he noticed some tire tracks. "Come on, team." They each summon their Spinjitzu vehicles, while Lydie hopped on Zane's ride, as they followed the tire tracks out into the desert.
They followed the trucks for miles before they see the Lost City of Ouroboros up ahead.
"What is that place?" Cole asked over the comms when they saw the city.
"Looks like a snake city." Jay said.
"Let's get a closer look." Lydie told the them as they drove to the city. They soon traveled in shadows as not to be seen by few Serpentine guards. They soon made their way to the stadium where they can hear multiple Serpentine cheering. They hide behind a large snake statue as they looked around.
"It appears Pythor has successfully united all of the tribes." Zane told the others.
"I know we ruined their last get-together, but that's no reason to not get an invitation." Cole joked. "My feelings are hurt."
"There's Lloyd." Kai said as he pointed to where he is. Lloyd is locked in a cage next to the large snake statue with Burmesia watching him.
Lydie gasped, "Lloyd!" she called out in concern, reaching for her brother while her friends held her back to avoid getting them caught.
"Whoa. Easy there, captain. Look at who they worship." Jay said as he pointed to the large statue.
"Let me guess: the Great Devourer." Cole guessed in a low tone.
"All the more reason to get Lloyd out of here." Lydie told them as she reached for her bo. "This comes to an end today." They each draw out their weapons then charging to Lloyd before a change fell down on them and they dropped their weapons outside the cage. All the Serpentine gasp when they saw them trapped.
"Ah! The ninja." Lloyd said when he saw his friends and sister get captured. As the ninjas recover from slamming against the cage, Pythor stood in front of their weapons where they dropped them.
"It looks like we've caught the main event." Pythor said with a smirk.
All the Serpentine cheered as the ninjas were surrounded by guards and brought to the center of the arena. They notice a steel gate and they can hear rattling chains behind it.
"Main event? What do you think he meant by main event?" Jay asked, sounding worried.
"I have a feeling we're the main event." Kai theorized.
"Or the main course." Cole said.
"Flash, you may be right." Zane said. "Things really may come to an end today."
"Uh, don't worry." Jay said nervously. "The Samurai could still come around to save us."
"Somehow I doubt that, Jay." Lydie said, having a feeling she might not show
"You say you wanted a battle, and I give you one!" Pythor announced in front of the Great Devourer statue. "I give you ninja versus samurai!" The Ninja turn to the gates as they opened and the samurai in her mech with chains wrapped around her arms walked out. The Serpentine guards that's around it the ninjas soon left the arena well four other unchained the mech before rushing out.
"What?! We have to fight the Samurai?!" Jay shouted. "But we don't even have our Golden Weapons and she has that hulking thing of armor! It's not fair!"
"I want to see once and for all who is the greatest hero!" Pythor announced. "Is it Samurai or Ninja?! Only the victor will be allowed to leave!"
"Stay together." Kai told the others.
"Perhaps he can join our team to fight our way out?" Zane suggested. "After all, he hates the Serpentine too." The mech then threw a large shuriken at them and they quickly jumped out of the way to dodge it.
"Scratch that. She is not on our team." Cole said as he stood up. They quickly jumped over the mech try to swipe at them when it charged at them. It stumbled forward before it threw another shuriken at them. Jay ducked under it as the others jumped out of the way.
"Ha ha, missed me!" Jay bragged before the sure can came around and hit him in the back of the head. The ninjas regrouped as all the Serpentine cheered at this fight. The Samurai mech then draw out a sword and slammed it at them, but they quickly dove out of the way. Kai, and Jay ducked when it swung it sword at them while Lydie, Zane, and Cole jumped over it and to the others.
"Tornado of Creation?" Zane suggested.
"Good idea, Zane." Lydie said, knowing that even if the Samurai saw all they're moves during the Serpentine battles, there was one move they only did once.
They each prepared to do the whip.
"Earth!" Cole shouted as he did Spinjitzu.
"Fire!" Kai called out his element as he did Spinjitzu.
"Ice!" Zane shouted before he did Spinjitzu.
"Lightning!" Jay shouted before he did Spinjitzu.
"Darkness!" Lydie shouted before she did Spinjitzu.
"NINJA, GO!" All five shouted as each of their Spinjitzus combined into the Tornado of Creation. The Samurai stepped back as the tornado started to gather a few things around the area. It's starting to suck up every weapon around, and object around them.
"Hey, wait!" A Constrictai cried out as the Tornado sucked in their refreshments too.
Even the Samurai's sword. When it vanished, the ninjas created a giant slingshot with a giant spike ball. They pulled the ball back a few feet before they launched it and knocked the samurai back.
"You think you are so great, huh, Samurai?" Lydie called out with a look. "You're not even fighting out of the suit, I bet without you are a coward!" She called out as the crowd go 'Ooooh' at the words.
"Oh, is that so?" The Samurai asked as she got her suit up. "I am stronger than you even without my gear."
"Then why not get out of that suit of armor and fight like a real warrior!" Lydie yelled.
"Thisss isss getting interesssting." Burmesia commented to Pythor as he nodded in agreement.
"Because if you don't, than that means you're not a real warrior, you're just a hero wannabe wearing a halloween costume made of metal!" Lydie taunted.
The Samurai's mech hand clenched from that as she opened her cockpit and jumped out. "You wanna see how well I fight without me suit? You got it." The Samurai said. "So this going to hurt, and I'm gonna enjoy it."
"That makes two of us." Lydie said as she cracked her knuckles. "Because you have cause enough trouble for me and my team. Stand back boys, this is gonna get ugly."
"All yours, Captain." Cole relented as he and the boys backed off.
"Yeah, who doesn't love a good cat fight?" Kai quipped.
The Samurai then drew her blades from behind her back as she jumped in front of Lydie, who front flipped to the samurai as she hit her in the head before backflipping in front of the boys as they watched.
The Samurai then thrusted her blades at Lydie, who jumped on them with perfect balance as the Samurai twirled around as Lydie was tossed to a wall, but she landed on her feet as she lands with a flip.
The Samurai threw her swords at Lydie, but she ducked as she moved aside and did Spinjitzu around the Samurai as the snakes, Lloyd and Ninja watched in awed at Lydie going toe to toe with the Samurai.
"Wow, Lydie's gotten good." Jay commented.
"Guess she's been practicing while we've been samurai hunting." Cole guessed.
Lydie then stopped her Spinjitzu as she stood in front of the Samurai as she hit her on the face multiple times before the Samurai tried to punch and kick back as Lydie then kicked her in the helmet, which knocked the Samurai down.
Lydie then flipped over the Samurai as she brought out her bowstaff, since the snakes think her weapon isn't a threat they didn't take hers, as Lydie spins her staff in many forms as the Samurai picked up her swords and ran towards Lydie, but then the purple then turned and wack the Samurai with her staff, which knocked her back as she skidded across the floor before crashing in front of her mech.
Lydie approached her while spinning her staff but then she noticed something about the Samurai's arm, a golden bracelet with a ruby in it, "Wait, that looks like-" She was cut off when the Samurai whipped around and three a shuriken at her knocking her back.
"You are good, purple ninja. But I'm still not out of the fight yet." The Samurai said as she stood up.
"A little something from a dream I had about the Green Ninja." Lydie said as she spun her staff. "And as I thought, you're no better in combat without your little toy." She taunted.
"Oh yeah? Well, you're on to talk to." The Samurai retorted. "Because out of the four here, you don't even have an elemental power or a golden weapon like the rest of them." She said.
"You think that just because I have no powers, that makes me the weakest link of my team?" Lydie questioned with a glare.
"No, I just expected more." The Samurai said as she drew a sword, "After all, you are the first born child of the infamous Lord Garmadon.."
"And so, what's it to ya?" Lydie countered.
"Oh nothing. I would've expected better from the child of the Dark Lord to have so much power." The Samurai said. "But you never found the one thing that holds you back from using your powers, but I have a feeling you know, but are too afraid to move past it."
"You don't know anything about me!" Lydie yelled as a spec of darkness appeared in her eyes before fading.
"I may not have know you personally, but I know that you are afraid to accept the fact that you might turn out like your father. Since Darkness is your element." The Samurai said as Lydie clenched her staff harder. "You're afraid that you might turn out like him when I could see that you are nothing like him. You have special powers but is too afraid to bring it out since your afraid that you might hurt your friends and family."
"Will you… that's not… I mean… that's is…" Lydie stammered as she clenched her fists harder.
"You know that it's true." The Samurai continued as she walked a bit closer to Lydie. "You need to let go of your fears and and embrace what you would do, not what your father would do." She said. "Because if not, then you're fight will be other before it even started." She taunted.
Lydie clenched her hands even harder as the purple flickering in her eyes as she felt something growing inside her as she remembember's her father words when he visited her in her dream when searching for the Golden Weapons. 'I am proud of the woman you choose to be, and is grateful you haven't followed my path. You don't have to be what I am. You are free to choose that life I never had, Lydie. I am proud of who you choose to be.' His words echoed through her head as she knew that her father never wanted her to be evil like him.
Lydie opened her eyes as she looked at the Samurai and the snakes in determination. "You're right. I maybe not like my father, but I know he would be proud of the path I choose. And I won't let his legacy define mine, there's nothing I can't achieve because I am more than just my father's name!" She declared as she spun her staff and her eyes glowed blue as dark energy surround her. "I am the Elemental Master of Darkness! And Darkness is what unites with Light to maintain balance! I am Lydie Garmadon! The daughter of Lord Garmadon!" She declared.
Then a bright dark light shined down on Lydie as the crowd, Lloyd, the Ninja and the Samurai covered their eyes as Lydie kept spinning her staff as she levitated upwards and her body changed to pure elemental energy.
"Lydie?" Lloyd said in awe.
"What'sss thisss?!" Pythor exclaimed in shock and slight fear.
"Can Lydie do that before?" Zane asked in surprise.
"Nope. Not even the slightest." Cole shook his head.
Lydie looked down at the Samurai and the two Anacondrai as Pythor and Burmesia slithered back a bit in fright as the Samurai looked in awed.
"I think Lydie unlocked her True Potential!" Kai theorizes in awed.
"Oh, these guys are so screwed!" Jay said with a chuckle.
Lydie then got down to the ground as her hands glowed in darkness as she then did Spinjnitzu around the Samurai, forcing her back into her mech as Lydie stood in front of her as she then released a beam of pure darkness at the Samurai, knocking her back in front of Pythor and Burmesia before she rolled across the ground while a few pieces of her armor came off, but the suit is still functional as the two Anacondrai jumped back a bit as they look at Lydie, who returned to normal as she fell to her knees as the boys huddled close to her.
"Wha-what happened?" Lydie asked in wondered.
The boys were amazed, "Oh that was awesome!" Jay exclaimed excitedly.
"You really nailed the Samurai!" Kai cheered.
"That was indeed an impressive feat." Zane commented.
"You found your powers, Lydie! And it was epic!" Cole exclaimed with a pump of his fist.
Lydie looked at her hands as she saw them now glowing in purple color. "I found my elemental powers." She said as she stood up. "So this is what Uncle Wu meant that I can harness my powers on my own. And I was afraid that I might turn out like my father, that I didn't know my fear was the one that held me back." She said before she gave a determined look. "But now that I moved pass that, it's time to free my brother and beat the scales out of these snakes and the Samurai!" She called out as she made her hands glowed brighter.
"Right behind you, Captain!" Cole said as the boys nodded in agreement.
They then charged at Pythor and Burmesia as the latter yelped in panic, "Oh no! What do we do?!" She asked her uncle.
Pythor simply smirked, "This!" He said before pulling a lever and spikes shut up to block their path.
"Argh! Why can't anyone play fair?" Jay complained as Pythor smiled before he pulled another lever and the arena started to tip over. The ninjas lost their balance as they fell back but held on to few the spikes as to not fall into the pit. The Samurai, now back in her mech, grabbed on to some spikes as well.
"Can this get any worse?" Cole asked.
"We must continue to make it appear that we are fighting for real." The Samurai told them.
"Huh? We're not fighting for real? Jay asked the Samurai.
"Have you been pretending this whole time?" Lydie asked in disbelief. "That would've been helpful like before the fight!" She yelled in rage.
"Just keep up the charade and hold on to my exo-suit." The Samurai told them and they did just that before the rocket boosters on its back when off. The mech took flight but it was being weighed down as the engine sputtered.
"There is too much weight!" Zane shouted before the Samurai jumped out of his mech and let them take off.
"I can't believe she just saved us." Cole said.
"She stole our thunder again!" Kai shouted.
"Even after we beat her!" Jay added.
"Ah! I really hate that, Showboating Samurai!" Lydie shouted as the mech flew as all the Serpentine watched it fly away.
"Go, Ninja, go!" Lloyd shouted as the Samurai landed in front of two Serpentine in the stadium's seats and punch them in the face. She then jumped down and made her way over to Pythor and Burmesia. Pythor took Lloyd out of his cage and used him as a hostage.
"GET HER!" Pythor ordered before a bunch of Serpentine surrounded the Samurai. The Samurai then pressed a button on her arm to activate something.
"Magnetizer activated." The Samurai said as the magnetizer hit the Golden Weapons and they flew towards her. She then wrap the golden weapons in a cloth when they came close before he threw a blade at the same lever python use to tip the arena. As the snakes toppled down, the Samurai used a jetpack to fly up on top the statue of The Great Devourer.
Pythor growled in frustration, the samurai gave about to his own performance before he took off on her jetpack.
Meanwhile the ninja were having a hard time with the Samurai's mech as it was flying out of control.
"HOW DO YOU TURN THIS THING OFF?!" Lydie screamed before the mech did a nose dive right in the middle of the desert and crash landed. The ninjas got up and recovered from that crash before Jay notice one of them was missing.
"Where's Kai?!" Jay called out.
Not too far from them, Kai had his head stuck in the ground before he pulled it out and removed his hood. He then got up and noticed that he was alone.
"Guys?!" Kai called out before he noticed the Samurai flying ahead. "Huh? The Samurai?" The samurai took notice of his jetpack is sputtering as it was out of fuel before he crash landed. Kai saw him crash not to far, so he decided to see if he was all right.
"Testing. Testing?" The Samurai said as her helmet was not on right and a bit of buzzing was heard. "One, two..." She then took off his helmet just when Kai hid behind a rock and see her. When he took off the helmet, Kai noticed her hair looked very familiar.
"Nya?" Kai asked as he approached the samurai. The samurai heard her and quickly but the helmet back on before turning around.
"Steer clear, ninja! Don't look..." She knew it's over so she took off her helmet and revealed it was Nya. "...at me." She said in shame.
"I don't understand. You're the Samurai?" Kai asked his sister.
"It was always a ninja's club." Nya told him. "You never let me try to help. So I found my own way to be hero. Are you mad?"
"Mad? Of course not." Kai said. "It's just, all this time, I've been trying to protect you and you've never needed it. You're amazing."
"Girl ower." Nya said as she hit Kai's arm. "You're not gonna tell the others, are you?"
"But we have a bet. We said whoever caught the Samurai would be the Green-" Kai stopped when he saw the pleading look on Nya's face before he gave a sigh. "Of course I won't say anything. How did you make all the stuff?" He asked as he pointed to the jetpack in our back.
"You'd being surprised how much spare time I have waiting for you guys to come back from your missions." Nya told him before she hands him the Golden Weapons. "You better head back before anypony gets suspicious. We'll have to rescue Lloyd another day."
"I don't think Lydie's gonna like that. You saw how she gets when her brother is captured and how angry she was at us for not looking out for him." Kai reminded her. "And with her new powers, if she blows another gasket, it's not gonna end well." He shuddered.
"I know." Nya said in guilt. "I should've payed more attention to Lloyd. She was right, I was being a real showoff for trying to prove I could protect myself, but I got in way over my head to think I can handle things on my own." She said in sadness.
"When Lydie talked to you as the Samurai, did she warn you to quit while you're ahead?" Kai asked.
"She did. But I didn't take her words seriously." Nya said. "She did caught me off guard with her snake trap and her True Potential during the duel, she really hits hard." She added as she rub the spots she was hit at by Lydie during the duel. "So what ever she does to me when she find out, I'll accept it."
"Nya, whenever I get in trouble, the other four always have my back." Kai told her looking worried. "But you... Just be careful, will you?"
"Promise." Nya said with a nod.
"But how are you gonna get back?" Kai asked.
"I have my ways." Nya said as she pressed a button on her bracelet.
Back of the others, they continue to search for Kai.
"Kai!?" Cole called out.
"Kai!?" Zane called out next.
"Kai, where are you?!" Lydie shouted in all four unaware that the mech was getting up from the ground. When they heard beeping coming from it they turn to see it but to leave.
"Quick! Get it! It's gonna get away!" Jay told the others as they race over to the mech, but it took off before they could get close. "Great. Now we lost Kai, the samurai suit is gone, and we have no way to get home." Cole turned to see something.
"I wouldn't say that." Cole told him as he pointed at Kai that came over hill, with the Golden Weapons.
Nightfalls at the Destiny's Bounty soaring through the skies and the ninjas were in the bathroom brushing their teeth. "She was all mysterious, never said a word." Kai told them. "Then handed me the Golden Weapons and poof, she was gone."
"Poof? He just poofed?" Kai asked.
"Whoa, whoa, whos. Wait a minute, Kai." Jay spoke up. "If the samurai had her hands on those powerful weapons in the whole wide world, why would she just give them back to you?" He asked as Nya walked by.
Kai looked at Nya as she gave him a pleading look, "Um, I don't know. Maybe she's not so bad after all." He covered up, "All I do know is that we owe him our lives, and maybe he had made us all a little better."
"I sense this means the bed is off." Zane guessed.
"More importantly, my nephew has found his way into the den of all snakes." Wu told them. "I fear there may be no way of rescuing him now."
"There's always a way." Lydie told Wu as she held up her fist. "Now that I got my powers, I'm sure we'll find a way." She said as Wu nodded and she walked back to hers and Nya's room
"And don't worry. The rest of us will find ours too." Cole said as Wu gave a small smile before you left the room. He then saw Nya down the hall, about to enter her room, and walked up to her.
"I think you forgot this." Wu said as he pulled out one of her samurai blades and gives it back. "Iron sharpens iron, and sibling sharpens sibling." Nya smile before she entered hers and Lydie room.
"I see you're back." Lydie's voice said, which startled Nya from that as she turned and saw Lydie sitting on her bed while crossing her arms. "So, how was that crusade, Samurai?" She asked rhetorically as Nya went wide eyes.
"H-How did you-?" She tried to asked before Lydie pulled out her Helmet.
"If you wanna make a secret identity, Nya, don't leave your gear just lying around on the floor or wear your signature jewelry." Lydie said firmly as she stood up, "Why?" She asked.
"Why what?" Nya asked nervously.
"Why go through all this? To teach the boys a lesson? To show off being a hero?" Lydie questioned as she walked up to Nya as she moved back a bit. "Do you have something to prove? Because you're little samurai crusade made the boys so jealous that you and them were distracted from Serpentine so much that they succeeded in uniting right under our noses and now my brother is in the hands of those Slithering Freaks!" She yelled.
"L-Lydie, I didn't mean for that, I, I just..." Nya stammered nervously. "I didn't mean for things to get so out of control, I was just trying to stop the Serpentine but I got a little over confident and-"
"A little?!" Lydie yelled in rage as she grabbed Nya by the shirt and pinned to the wall. "You were having so much fun playing Samurai Superhero that you thought that was more important than my little brother I just got back?! And what's more, you didn't even try to save him?!" She demanded.
"I, I swear, I didn't mean to!" Nya said frantically as she tried to calm Lydie down. "I was gonna save Lloyd, that's why I was at Ouroboros in the first place but the Serpentine overwhelmed me before I could even get close to him."
"Just like I warned you?" Lydie questioned with a disappointed look.
Nya looked down in shame, "Just like you warned me." She admitted. "You were right, I was being a total showboat. I wanted to prove I didn't need protecting anymore but with the thrill of it all, I lost sight of that."
Lydie let go of Nya, which caused her fall to the floor on her hands and knees as Lydie gave her a betrayed look. "Your worst than Pythor or my father if you thought that fighting was more important than family," Lydie said before she grabbed a blanket and pillow and looked at Nya one last time, "I'll be sleeping with Umbra from now on, and once this battle with the Serpentine are over, so are you and me, Samurai Selfish!" She promised as she marched out the of the room and slammed the door.
The impact caused Nya's helmet to fall off the bed and bounce close to Nya as she slowly moved over to it and picked it up. The girl looked at it longingly before tears starts forming in the eyes of her reflection.
"What have I done?" Nya whispered as she fell to her knees and dropped her helmet again. "What have I done? I just lost my best friend and because of my selfishness, she lost her little brother." She weep as she covered her face as she cried in her hands.
