Danny entered the side door of his family's home, greeted by Frank drinking from a coffee mug.

"Danny?" Frank looked over at the clock. "You're here kind of late."

"Yeah dad I'm actually here to speak to Jamie." Danny began to walk off, Frank stopped him.

"Well, he's a little busy right now." Danny tilted his head at his father's words, Frank pointed to the living room, Danny curiosity took him to the living room, where he'd seen Jamie and Eddie snuggled on the couch asleep, the movie they were once watching still playing. Danny slowly backed up walking back into the kitchen.

"They're back together?" Danny held in his smile. Frank shrugged his shoulders, he knew his son needed this.

"I assume, but just let them play it out." Danny looked at his father funny, "No teasing Danny or running off and telling your sister."

"Alright dad." Danny replied, "Well I'll just talk to him another day."

"What did you want to talk to him about?" Frank wondered. Danny looked around before pulling up a seat at the table.

"Well I spoke with Jamie's partner and he tells me Jamie is really depressed." Frank's reaction showed Danny that his father pretty much knew.

"I've known for sometime."

"Have I just been that selfish?" Danny pondered.

"Just ignorant." Frank sipped his cup, placing it back down.

"Come on dad!" Danny replied.

"Danny, you've had to realize I'm sure… Jamie has lost his childhood best friend, his first love, his brother who was also a best friend to him, your mother… After all that, wouldn't you be depressed?"

"Honestly. I'm surprised he gets up every morning…"

"I haven't been looking after him myself honestly… I try but he just pushes me away, pushes us all away." Frank spoke

"Maybe now that Eddie's back and we handle Noble Sanfino he'll be okay."

"I guess we'll see." Frank responded to Danny.

The next morning Vinny walked into the locker room spotting Jamie, sitting on the bench getting ready for their tour. Jamie made eye contact with him

"Good morn-" Jamie paused at his partner's goofy grin. "What?"

"Nothin." Vinny giggled, which started to annoy Jamie.

"Cruz, stop being childish." Jamie was definitely annoyed. Vinny looked around before looking back at Jamie.

"I saw you with Eddie last night." Jamie skin crawled, Vinny could see his partner began to turn red from embarrassment.

"Listen I don't know what you saw but-"

"I saw you holding hands." Vinny laughed again. "Listen, just go at your own pace with everything, I'm just happy for you that's all" Vinny genuinely said.

Jamie sighed. "Thanks man." Jamie smiled, he truly had no idea what he and Eddie are. Last night was really great. He was truly happy, the first time in a long time, but he still wants to take things slow and not rush anything.

"I can see how she's changing you for the better, you being here before me is unheard of." Vinny said. Jamie rolled his eyes closing his locker.

A little over 2 weeks had passed, no word from Noble on the OC wires, both of their tours had been quiet with no issues, things were great, really great, Frank worried about the safety of those two alot but he couldn't keep them sheltered forever, it's been a little over a month and Eddie had changed apartments to one with a door man that doesn't let anyone up without them being on the list or her being notified, which definitely made her feel safer, all the times Noble would show up at her door or behind her when she would go home.

"The last day huh." Eddie was finishing up packing her things from Erin's childhood room she had been staying a little over a month over in.

"Yeah." Jamie sat on the end of the bed handing her the hair brush."

"Thank you Jamie." He turned his head a bit, "Thank you to your whole family for allowing me to stay here and everything, it means alot." He smiled, gently grabbing her hand.

"It was no problem at all, we loved having you here." He smiled at her.

"Although we didn't get Noble."

"Yeah." Jamie hated that man. "Are you scared to go to your new apartment?" She took a while before she responded.

"No, I like the new location and it has better security," Although I will miss coming home everyday and seeing you." She let slip, Jamie still held her hand, he brought her in closer, Eddie sat on his lap, their eye contact deeping, his other hand slowly grabbing the side of her face their lips were a few centimeters apart when Frank entered the room. Eddie quickly jumped up from Jamie's lap, her face red from embarrassment.

"What's up dad?" Jamie responded as if nothing was going on.

"Well…" Frank cleared his throat, Eddie couldn't even make eye contact with him.

"I came to say goodbye to Eddie and also let you know you have a little visitor at the door." Eddie finally looked over at Frank confused. "Jamie jumped up heading down the stairs, Eddie and Frank followed behind.

"Hey, you." Jamie smiled, picking up the 6 year old girl who was equally as happy to see him.

"Hey, Uncle Jamie." Maisie smiled. Eddie and Frank made it down stairs Eddie, unsure who the adorable little girl Jamie is holding.

"Hey Malcolm," Jamie greeted, Malcolm is his childhood best friend Mason's brother and the father of Maisie, it all clicked for Eddie she remembers seeing Malcolm when she was younger and stayed at the Reagan's around 6 years ago.

"Hey man." Malcolm smiled.

"Uncle Jamie." The girl pouted. Jamie put her down, kneeling to her height.

"What's going on?" Jamie asked, seeing the little girl upset. Malcolm put his hands up

"She's been asking me to bring her here for about two weeks now."

"You promised, you'd take me to ice cream soon." Her green puppy eyes stared. Jamie remembered around a month ago when he found out Eddie was at the 12th he was at his fathers house when he had seen Maisie and her Grandpa. He did make that promise.

"I'm sorry sweetheart, I've been busy with work and everything." Jamie apologized.

"I understand," Maisie responded, she still seemed down.

"But, I'm not doing anything today," The girl's eyes lit up, "How about we go today?" Jamie smiled at her excitement. "What do you say Malcolm?" Jamie stood up to look at her father.

"Please daddy!" Maisie said full of excitement

"Of course," Malcolm replied, watching his daughter jump with joy.

"What do you say Eddie, do you want to come along?" Jamie looked over.

"Sure if you'll have me, Maisie." The girl stood there.

"Are you Uncle Jamie's girlfriend?" Both their eyes widened, chuckles were heard from Frank.

"Maisie." Malcolm laughed along with Frank.

"She's my friend Maisie." Jamie smiled, Eddie nodded agreeing.

"Yes, come with us." Maisie responded to Eddie.

"I work tonight, do you think you can drop her back at my dads? Jade can pick her up later."

"Of course, how's the FDNY treating you?"

"Good, it's been about 6 years, I love it."

"I'm really glad to hear that."

"How's the NYPD treating you Jamie?"

"It's my second year. I'd say it's been a hell of a ride."

"I know you're doing Joe proud." Malcolm placed a gentle hand on his shoulder.

"Yeah…" Jamie, slightly smiled. Malcolm and Joe are the same age. They were really great friends growing up even in high school and part of college, so just like Jamie, Malcolm has experienced firsthand what it's like to lose a brother and a best friend. Malcolm kneeled down to his daughter's height.

"Okay sweetheart, I'll see you tomorrow okay? Mom's gonna come get you from grandpa's house tonight." She nodded.

"Okay, bye Daddy." She hugged her father, He said his goodbyes to the Reagan's

"Okay Maisie."

"I'm going to run up stairs and change, okay? Do you think you can wait down here for me?" She nodded, Jamie looked at his father, Frank gave me a nood, he would look after her.

"So what's your favorite flavor of ice cream Maisie?" Eddie thought she'd pass time while they waited for Jamie to return.

"Hmm, I really like chocolate chip." She responded, " What about you?"

"I really like strawberry ice cream." Before the little girl could respond Jamie had finally returned down stairs, Jamie wore an unbuttoned black and white flannel with a white t-shirt underneath with blue jeans. Jamie looked damn good, Eddie thought.

"Are you ready uncle Jamie?"

"Let's go princess." Jamie smiled, are you ready?" He looked at Eddie, she smiled. When the three arrived at the Ice cream shop, they went over the menu together. Maisie stayed true to what she said earlier getting chocolate chip, Eddie ordered her strawberry.

"Uncle Jamie, you always get that flavor." Maisie laughed. The three sat outside in the warm cool August breeze.

"I love vanilla." He laughed.

"How often do you guys hang out?" Eddie wondered.

"I've known uncle Jamie my whole life, we'd always go get dinner with my parents after my tap dance recital and he would always be at Grandpa's house but when I asked Grandpa why uncle Jamie is never around anymore he said he might have a girlfriend."

"So that's why you thought I was Jamie's girlfriend." Eddie asked. The little girl nodded, licking her ice cream cone.

"That's what David said?" The little girl nodded. "I've just been busy with work. I promise we'll all hang out more."

"Did you know Maisie? I met your uncle Jamie and your uncle Mason in highschool." The girl's eyes lit up.

"Wow! You knew Uncle Mason?" Eddie nodded.

"Your uncle was very sweet, him and Jamie were my first friends when I moved here."

"Daddy says uncle Mason went to heaven, I really wish I got the chance to meet him." She's heard many great stories of her uncle who passed away a year before she was born. "Jamie softly padded her head. The three talked for a little while soon after finishing their ice cream, when they returned to Maisie's grandfather's house she had fallen asleep in her booster seat in the car.

"She's really adorable, Jamie." Eddie looked back watching the girl sleep.

"She is. She's a great kid, she reminds me a lot of her uncle,"

"Do you tell her stories about her uncle?" Jamie nodded.

"All the time."

"This is really sweet of you Jamie," Jamie smiled at Eddie's words.

"Let's get her inside." Jamie had gently unbuckled her from the booster seat carrying her while she was sound asleep to the front door. They waited a few seconds then her grandpa David opened the door.

"She's out huh?" David gently took his granddaughter from Jamie's hands. "Thank you both for taking her out."

"She was a blast." Eddie responded.

"Alright David I'll stop by within the week." He nodded, they didn't want to keep the conversation going too long accidentally risking waking her up.

"See you two." David closed the door, Jamie and Eddie walked back to the car.

"That was fun, I guess I should be getting home." Eddie spoke.

"Yeah I guess so am I." The silence grew between them.

"Okay-"

"Do you think I can take you home?" Jamie asked. Her eyes widened.

"I'd like that." She smiled. Jamie drove her to her new apartment, Eddie had toured the place around two weeks ago and the moving company had finished moving her things a couple days ago. The elevator brought them to floor 14, unlocking her door and she was obsessed with the view and the amount of windows.

"Wow, You're officially never allowed to come to my place." Eddie giggled, she showed him around her one bedroom apartment.

"I'm big on plants so I love all the windows, I can't wait to see it in the daytime." The two look out to the city lights.

"Did you want anything to drink?" Eddie headed for the fridge all she had was a few fruit juices water bottles and a half case of beer.

"I'll have a beer." Jamie sat on her couch.

Sorry for the mess." Eddie handed him his beer, she had a few boxes scattered around waiting to be unpacked.

"No mess, you just moved in here."

"I'm too embarrassed to see your dad again." She placed her beer bottle down on the table. she turned to face him.

"Why?" Jamie placed his half empty bottle down as well.

"He saw me sitting on your lap earlier, we almost kissed!" She replayed the embarrassing moment.

"Oh, That's nothing to be embarrassed about."

"While we are in your sister's room on her twin mattress." He laughed. "Jamie," Her ton serious while you were away in college, or even recently have you had any serious relationships with other women?" She asked something that had bugged her for a long time. Over the weeks she and Jamie had grown closer and their flirting has grown as well, they had yet to go beyond kisses since reconnecting.

"Well, honestly I did have this one girl I spent a lot of time with, her name was Sydney, after I told her I was joining the police, we broke things off." Jamie responded, she was quiet so he looked over at her, she was clearly in deep thought.

"You guys had sex?" she asked.

"Yeah we did." He answered honestly. she nodded.

"Were you with anyone when we were apart? Jamie asked.

"Well, I did makeout with a few guys and dated a few but." The pause made Jamie's heart race a little. "You are my first and the last person I had sex with." She stared into his eyes. When she's this close, there's an irresistible pull she has. Jamie closed the gap between them and he sighed resting his forehead on her shoulder. Eddie sat there a little confused, not sure if she hugged him or what.

"I love you Eddie." He looked up, she saw the sadness in his eyes.

"I have never stopped loving you Jamie." She wrapped arms around his neck. She kissed him and for a moment, what surrounds him doesn't matter. He broke their kiss. He wrapped his arm around her back and the other under her legs. "Jamie" She laughed as he picked her up. He carried her into her unpacked bedroom, he gently laid her onto her bed. Hearing her heartbeat faster than his made him want to be gentle with her.

Him slightly over the top of her as they kissed, his free hand moving down to her thigh and back up. He hadn't had sex in a very long time, wrapped up in his work and the women he encountered just didn't do it for him and he had always missed being with her. Eddie on the other hand had not had sex since the last time they had sex with each other six years ago she had tried to date but it never got that far for her because it was always Jamie she wanted, not any other man. She removed her tank top, her white lace bra shown, Jamie removed his flannel and next his white t-shirt.

"You have such a nice body babe." Jamie removed her bra. She found that hard to believe staring at his abs, it's clear he works out often. Their makeout sessions continued, until all of their clothes were laying on the floor, sliding in, inch by inch till he was all the way inside her, both of them eyes wide open and not able to take their eyes off each other, both breathing heavily and moaning softly.

It was Eddie that broke the silence with a soft moan, calling his name out, "Ohh Jamie", her hips bucking up towards his, slowly and steady, closing her eyes for a moment before opening them again,

"I've missed you Eddie', he whispered softly, leaning down to capture her lips with his own, thrusting inside her, breathing in deeply, his body trembling.

"Ohh, god, I've missed you too Jamie, please don't stop", she whispered back as they moved together, their bodies aching for a release, but happy to go slow and show each other how much they loved one another.

The morning arrived, the light peaked into the room. Eddie opened her eyes, her eyes widened. She covered her mouth. She was in Jamie's arms, his chin resting on the top of her head. She was a little buzzed last night but it wasn't anything she couldn't remember. She remembers everything. The excitement and happiness she felt fluttered within her like butterflies. she gently slipped his arms and sat up, the first thing she could spot to cover her was the black and white flannel he wore the day before. He grabbed her hand before she stood up.

"Good morning." He mumbled.

"Morning babe." She smiled standing up. "Your hair is so cute." She commented on his bed hair when he sat up. He laughed

"What time is it?"

"It's around 6:15." Jamie sighed

"I have court at 9," Jamie rubbed his eyes.

"Do you want some coffee maybe?" She walked to his side of the bed.

"No, I need to get back to my place and shower and get my suit."

"This is for the Los Lordes case?" Eddie asked, They were able to arrest the leader and bring some ease to the neighborhood. Jamie nodded.

"You're wearing my shirt." His flannel wrapped around her perfectly, fitting her like a mini dress, he grabbed her hand bringing her closer. her arms wrapped around his neck and his wrapped around her lower waist, his head rested on her chest, he could hear her heartbeat.

"I really enjoyed last night." he said looking up at her. She kept him in her arms.

"I did too." She ran her hands throughout his hair.

"Do you think I can take you out on a date?" Jamie asked. she smiled.

"Of course."

"Tonight then. I'll call if anything changes." She nodded. "I better get going then."

"I'll shower, clean up and unpack. I guess I'll see you tonight." She kissed him. He threw on his clothes and headed out giving her one last kiss before he walked out.

Jamie walked out to his car the cool august morning air hit him, he didn't grab his flannel from her, all he was left with was a white t-shirt, he smiled at last night's memories, he was happy, happier than he's been in a long time. His thoughts were getting the best of him.

"Excuse me sir." Jamie turned around to someone covering his mouth with what seemed like a white towel. He of course fought back but seconds later he felt himself weakening and his sight even going black. The man held his limp body up a black van sped up the street. They threw him in the back taking his keys and phone from him.

"Take him to the spot." Bobby shouted. He closed the van door, watching it take off down the street. "Take the car, park it in the warehouse. Bobby tossed Jamie's keys to one of his goons who took off with Jamie's vehicle, luckily for them it was 6:30 in the morning although New York is the city that never sleeps nobody was out on the street to witness the last three minutes.

"I think it's time we teach this punk a lesson for our sweet Edit." Bobby said to his nephew Noble. Noble nodded, agreeing as his uncle walked off all he could do, launching a sinister smile at all the lies he told him to make this happen.
