Gears and cogs move together in perfect sync as the stopwatch Lydie is holding ticks past 10 minutes.
"Ten minutes!" Lydie gasped as Kai, Cole and Jay look over her shoulder to see if she was reading it right. "Zane just broke his own record! He's inhuman I tell you!" She exclaimed to the boys in shock.
They look down at the frigid ocean they were floating in as bubbles rose from where Zane was meditating while holding his breath. He smiled as a fish swam by and he petted it before swimming back up to the surface.
Once he breached, the others cheered him on. "Amazing!" Cole announced as the others laughed in amazement.
"We're not worthy." Jay said as he gave Zane a bow.
"I broke the record?" Zane asked his friends.
"Broke it? You destroy it!" Lydie pointed out as she showed him her watch. "Nobody can stay underwater for that long, not even at the bottom of the ocean!" She exclaimed.
"Okay. Okay." Jay spoke up as Cole leapt back did some moves. "Is anyone thinking what I'm thinking? We've been training for so long, I don't think we can get any better. Just think about all we've accomplished."
They remember the time Kai was running across five miles of hot coals and made it to the end without flinching. They remember the time Jay was balancing himself on the tip of one of the tallest building in a thunderstorm with ease. Finally, they remember the time Cole eight weights, both Jay and Nya while they hold weights on a barbell and was able to lift them.
"You boys are on a roll with these training courses." Lydie said with a proud smile. "You've gotten as good as me."
"So, how goes your new powers?" Kai asked.
"Oh, they are unnatural, but somehow natural to me, watch this." Lydie said as she glowed her hands in purple. "Check this out." She said as she focus her powers and released them into the sky as they gave off a small explosion, which resulted in Umbra flying by with a roar. "A dragon call blast, now if Umbra is a bit far, she can somehow sense the signal and fly to me." She added.
"Oh, first do Spinjitzu, only one to keep their dragon and now first to have their powers, so jealous of you!" Jay exclaimed.
"Well don't get too comfortable, Captain, pretty soon the rest of us will catch up with you." Cole said with a challenging look.
"Well, the question should be raised, perhaps we've already reached our full potential?" Zane asked.
"If that was the case, how come Lydie's showed hers and not us?" Kai asked.
"Beats me, let's ask Uncle Wu to find out." Lydie suggested as they walked ot Wu's quarters.
Below deck in Wu's room, Wu was putting a katana in a scabbard wrapped in a cloth and looked at as he heard his students coming.
"Well, every morning I do five hundred push-ups." Zane told the others before they entered the room.
"Five hundred? Ha, trying a thousand." Kai bragged.
"Ha, ha. I do a thousand and one." Jay said.
"Just one? I do a thousand and seven hundred and fifty." Lydie boasted.
"What is this, amateur hours?" Cole asked them. "Sounds like my warm up. Sensei, how do we unlock our true potential like-" He asked before they realized he was too focused on something important.
"Our apologies, sensei." Zane said as they bow. "We've interrupted you." Wu looked up from the katana and sigh as he sat it down.
"I'm sorry if I've been distant lately." Wu told his students. "My mind has been elsewhere since Lloyd has gone missing. What can I help you with?"
"Sensei, what if we've done enough training?" Cole asked. "We still can't seem to unlock our True Potential like Lydie? What if we're not ready yet after all that training?"
"Heh. You might have reached peak physical condition, but you've yet to reach your inner potential." Wu assured them. "Like Lydie demonstrated, in each and every one of us, there are obstacles that hold us back. Only when you conquer that fear will your heart be free. Only then will you reach your true potential. Only then will we have a fighting chance to stop the Serpentine from releasing The Great Devourer."
"There's more to The Great Devourer then you've led on, isn't there, sensei?" Zane asked.
"Yeah, Uncle, you somehow know more about this snake then the rest of us." Lydie said in a suspicious tone. "What is this Great Devourer? And what's it origin?" She questioned as Wu gave a sigh.
"I too have obstacles within my own heart." Wu told them. "There's a story I've never told you."
(Flashback)
Wu as a boy and Garmadon as a boy, only without the black skin and red eyes as he has a gray suit with blue eyes and a light brown hair. They and their backs to each other before they started sparring with katanas in the monastery long ago. "Long ago, when I was a young boy. Garmadon and I were more than Brothers." Wu told his pupils. "We were the best of friends."
"Wait a minute. I know you two were brothers, but really?" Jay interrupted. "The king of Cruelty, the Doer of Destruction, the Captain of Chaos. And you two were friends?" He asked before a smack was heard. "Ow!" He shouted.
"Be quiet, Jay! That's my father you're talking about!" Lydie shouted firmly as Jay gave a nervous chuckle.
"Heheh, sorry." Jay apologizes nervously.
"Please, no interruptions." Wu asked before he continued.
He then see a man with a rice hat and two dragons on his back. One was white with a black eye and the other was black with a white eye. The man was the first Spinjitzu master and he was looking over the golden weapons as his sons were sparring. "You see, he did not always have a wicked heart." Wu told them. Both Wu and Garmadon continue to spar before Wu lost his grip and his katana was thrown over the wall. "One day, I lost this very katana." Wu explain. Both Wu and Garmadon looked at their father who is still inspecting the weapons with concern looks. "Knowing our father would be mad, my brother told me to go retrieve it. But I refused. He told me to never put off tomorrow what can be done today and went to get it himself."
The young Garmadon then run up the wall and jumped over it before landing on the other side. He looked around before he saw the katana on the ground near the bushes. As he reached down to pick it up, a snake quickly bit his hand. The young Garmadon pulled his hand back when he felt the bite for he saw the snake that bit him. It was a bright green snake with red glowing eyes and a frail on its head. Garmadon felt woozy as his vision was becoming fuzzy. The snake hissed before it slithered away and Garmadon fell to the ground. We then see the first Spinjitzu master rush over to Garmadon as he was worried about him. "When my father found him, he was very ill." Wu said. "For he was bitten by a legendary snake that would grow forever as long as it consumes."
The young Garmadon was then brought back inside and into his room. Young Wu stand by the door as it was open as he looked inside and sees his father mending Garmadon. "A great evil had found its way into my brother's heart." Wu said. "For the snakes venom could turn the purest of things wicked."
"Leave it. Leave me alone." Young Garmadon told his father. "I don't need you. I hate you." Young Wu was shocked to see his own brother act like this.
"The snake is the same one the Serpentine want to reawaken today." Wu told them.
"Aah, it hurts! It's all Wu's fault!" Young Garmadon shouted as he looked towards the door with glowing red eyes and frightened young Wu as he ran off.
(End of Flashback)
"It is the snake that took my brother away from me." Wu told them.
The Ninja, especially Lydie, was shock by this. "So The Great Devourer turned your brother into the Dark Lord?" Kai asked.
"It was all my fault." Wu said in guilt.
"So the very reason why my father is the way he is, was because you were afraid to even go over the wall for just a few seconds and get your little sword?" Lydie questioned as she felt anger rising in her.
"Believe me, my Niece, no one is more ashamed than me." Wu said to her.
"I can't believe it." Lydie said as she started pacing around. "This whole mess, the Serpentine, Lloyd being captured, me being an orphan, our separation and dad becoming the dark lord was all because of some snake that bit him that was turning him evil? And it was because you were afraid to get your katana!?" She yelled as she turned and glared at her uncle.
"Okay, easy there, Captain." Jay said as he and the others tried to calm Lydie down.
"No, not this time! I've already lost my brother and I now I find out the reason my family was torn apart was because of my uncle of all people, who started all of this conflicted between good and evil!" Lydie yelled as she walked up to Wu. "And if the Serpentine hadn't shown up, when were you gonna tell us this anyway?! When were you gonna tell me?!" She demanded.
Wu sighed, "It was my intention to tell you all when I thought you were ready, but alas, fate had other plans."
"Seriously? That's all you gotta say?! Fate?!" Lydie yelled in disbelief. "This is my family, our family that is all screwed up because of you! And you think it was fate that make you decide!?" She yelled before she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Lyd!" She turned to see Kai looking at her firmly but concerned, "Enough." He said.
"Back off!" Lydie smacked Kai's hand away. "This is a family matter, so this doesn't evolve you guys!"
"Actually it does, and you wanna know why?" Kai said as he looked Lydie in the eye, "Because we're your family too." He said firmly.
Lydie took a pause for a moment as she looked at Kai stunned as she glanced at the other boys, as Jay gave his signature smile, Cole gave a wink and thumbs up and Zane smiled and nodded his head.
Lydie looked between them and back to her uncle as she realized what she was doing and then took a breath and looked back at her friends…no, her brothers and looked guilty, "Your right, sorry guys." She apologized, "I shouldn't have lashed out like I did, that's not how a good leader should act and I'm sorry for letting my anger get the better of me on you, uncle." She added looking at her uncle.
"It is okay, my young niece." Wu said as he gave a comforting hand on her shoulder. "It was my mistake that robbed your father of his choice in destiny and I hope someday I will be able to correct my mistake." He said as he closed the case with the katana in it and picked it up. "But for now, you five have finished your training. You must now focus on stopping the Serpentine from collecting the four Fangblades." He said as he pointed the case to echo them, "But never lose focus on the obstacles that lie within each of your hearts that holds you back from true greatness. Follow your leader's example, and unlock your true potential." He finished as he gave Lydie a proud smile which she returned.
"But how are we supposed to do that, Sensei?" Zane asked.
"It's up to each of you to discover." Wu answered. "Now I must go on a personal journey of my own."
"Where are you going?" Jay asked.
"To a place you cannot follow." Wu answered.
"If you're going for Lloyd, the City of Ouroboros is filled with hundreds of Serpentine." Cole said to him.
"I am going to find someone who can be of aid." Wu told them. "The Serpentine have united and grown stronger and we will need all the help we can get." The Destiny's Bounty soon rests on a mountain top letting Wu off and on his way.
"Who are you looking for?" Lydie asked.
"Someone who dispises the Serpentine as much as we do and I will return with them to in our battle once in our darkest hour." Wu simply said.
Later on the Ninja and Nya waved him goodbye as he went on his quest to find this someone as Lydie glanced at Nya, before looking a little guilty, 'Guess I owe someone an apology.' She thought.
Meanwhile back in the Constrictai tomb, all the Serpentine have gathered there as Pythor and the Generals inspects the drawings on the walls. "Uncle, we've been at thisss for hoursss, It ssssays nothing about where the four Fangbladesss are hidden." Burmesia complained. "Have our ancestorsss let usss nothing? Where are they?"
"This, here. This must be a clue." Pythor said as they made their way to the stone in the center. "When five fangs unite as one, the path toward the Devourer has begun." He read the inscription.
"Yes, when the five tribesss unite." Burmesia repeated boredly. "We know all thisss a hundred timesss over. It meansss nothing." She states before gesturing to the other Serpentine, "If you don't find out sssoon, the othersss will begin to ask questionsss, and soon they will ssstart to think you don't know what you're doing."
"I know what I'm doing, fool." Pythor told him. "I'm trying to unleash the Great Devourer. Legend ssspoke of a map ssshowing exactly where the four Fangbladesss have been buried. There must be sssomething around here. Keep looking."
Meanwhile, the ninjas are in Jamanakai Village putting up flyers about if anyone has seen the Fangblades and if they have, they must report it immediately.
"Oh, this is silly." Zane complain.
"And wasting our time." Lydie added in agreement.
"You two have any better ideas?" Cole asked the two, since this was all they could do at the time.
"Hey, maybe sensei going to go get the samurai for help." Jay suggested.
"The Samurai? I'm sure she's busy looking for the Fangblades as well." Kai said nervously.
"Uh, is everything all right?" Cole asked.
"Yeah, yeah. Why wouldn't it be?" Kai asked as Nya walked up next to him.
"One hundred percent. We're not hiding anything." Nya said with a nervous smile.
"Yeah, sure." Lydie said plainly, already seeing their trick.
Zane was about to put up another flyer on a store window when he sense something, something calling out to him. He looked up to the sky when he did and didn't notice the flyers he's holding work falling down. The owner of the store saw the flyers being dropped when he came out.
"Hey, weirdo." The owner called out, but Zane ave no response. "You're making a mess of my store front. Yoo-hoo! You got a problem? Maybe I should teach you a lesson on manners." Zane dropped the rest of the flyers and walked around the building as Lydie quickly walked up to the owner.
"I'm sorry, sir. Sometimes our friend is in another world." Lydie told the owner sheepishly.
"He's littering all over the place." The owner complained.
"We'll pick it up. So sorry." Cole told the owner before he went back inside and the others picked up the flyers.
"Zane, what's the deal?" Jay asked before they walked up to and they saw what he's seeing. It was the falcon flying around in a circle. "Ah! It's the falcon! Oh my gosh. Every time we follow it, it leads us to good fortune." They all but Kai and Lydie started to follow it.
"Head back to the Bounty and wait for us, sis." Kai said to his sister.
"But where are you guys going?" Nya asked.
"We're gonna follow the bird, who knows, it could lead us to the first Fangblade." Kai explained as he ran ahead but stopped when he noticed Lydie was with him, "Hey, Captain, you coming?" He asked.
Lydie glanced back at Nya before turning back to Kai, "You guys go on ahead, I'll catch up later." She said.
Kai nodded as he ran off to catch up with the others as Lydie and Nya stood there on their own while feeling uncomfortable at the moment.
"So." Nya spoke first.
"So." Lydie repeated as she rubbed her head. The purple ninja then sighed, "Look Nya, I'm not gonna lie, the fact that your little hero stunt got my little brother caught and distracted us from the Serpentine really stung."
"I know. I still feel bad about it." Nya said as she felt guilt.
"But do you know what stung the most?" Lydie asked her as she looked at her hurt, "The fact that you didn't tell me about it first." She answered as she walked over to Nya, "We're supposed to be best friends, Nya. You can't just keep secrets from us, especially me. You could've told me that you were the Samurai from the beginning, I could've helped you."
"Trust me, I was gonna to tell you, but I had to keep my identity a secret to protect the ones I care for." Nya explained.
Lydie gave Nya a dull look. "Nya, when we started this whole Ninja thing, do you see us keep our identity a secret?" She questioned boredly.
Nya rubbed the back of her head sheepishly, "Actually there was another reason?" She confessed and looked a bit embarrassed, "Do you know if guys like mysterious masked lady heroes?"
"Huh, why do you…?" Lydie asked with a raised brow before she realized what she mean as she gave a smirk. "Ooohhh." She said in understanding. "Trying to impress a certain chatterbox into getting to like your alter ego, aren't you?" She asked.
"Yeah. That's also another reason why." Nya said while blushing in embarrassment. "But I guess I got the opposite reaction." She said in small guilt.
"You were stealing our thunder out of nowhere, Nya." Lydie pointed out. "Not to mention you knocked us out when we just tried to say thank you for rescuing us back in the Toxic Bogs, what's that for anyway?" She asked in wondered.
"Heheh, sorry. I guess I was too overcautious at trying to keep my secret." Nya apologized sheepishly. "But I needed someway to make a get away from you guys, you would've found out my identity sooner."
"You know, a smoke screen would've been more effective." Lydie stated with a brow. "And what, you think we would remove someones helmet when we just met? I mean for all we knew you could have a toad's face under there."
The two girls laughed at the joke before Lydie collected herself. "But seriously, there's a reason why we face danger up close, because we work together. You maybe good with that gear of yours, but you can't always rely on tech to get you out of a jam." She said to Nya. "That, and you were really ruining the our reputation when most of the citizens started worshiping you and trashing us. Which really wounded the guys' pride." She added.
"Yeah, I saw the boys' reaction when they just came to try and find out my identity." Nya said while rubbing her head. "Fame wasn't what I was looking for, I just wanted to help."
"And we would've like that, but giving us the heads up would've been nice." Lydie said. "You've been on all our Serpentine missions because you were at the bridge giving us the news while going Samurai on them. And then you tried to rescue Lloyd on your own when you got caught?" She questioned.
"Yeah, not my proudest moments." Nya said sheepishly as she remembered how the Serpentine piled on her mech and brought her down.
"There's a reason why none of us went on solo missions, Nya. Because we know we wouldn't be a match for all those snakes and that our greatest strength is our unity." Lydie said. "How you think Zane went to us before we took down my brother's treehouse? Because even he knows that he wouldn't stand a chance. And it took Kai a little bit to accept being part of a team when we found the Golden Weapons." She added.
Lydie walked over to Nya, "We can help each other Nya, but only if you agree to work with us and not apart from us. Never be alone and never work alone." She said.
Nya looked down in thought as she took a breath. "Wow, I never really thought about it before." She said.
"Which by the way, what makes you come up with the whole Samurai thing anyway?" Lydie asked. "Being a ninja is no different when helping others."
Nya looked away sullenly, "I wanted to be one but, I just wasn't good enough. And I wanted to be a hero in my choice, since sensei made you five ninjas, I figure I choose my own path." She said.
"And you choose to be a samurai?" Lydie questioned in confusion. "You know Samurai and Ninja sometimes clashed with each other or work together, right?"
"I guess I wasn't sure how'd you feel about having another girl Ninja around," Nya said, "You've always been an inspiration to me Lydie, I wanted to be like you when I first saw you battling in Jamanakai Village."
"How do you think I feel when being the only girl of the team?" Lydie asked. "I mean, before I had my powers, I was basically the sore thumb of the group without any elemental abilities, no golden weapon, Spinjitzu Vehicle and of course the obvious girl thing leading a bunch of boys." She said before looking back at Nya with a small smile, "So if there was another girl Ninja on the team, than I'd be proud if she was my best friend."
Nya gave a small smile at that as she gave a sigh. "I guess you're right. So, uh, does this mean you…" She asked looking hopeful.
"Trust me, I'm still a bit upset about losing my brother," Lydie started before she gave a small smile. "But I never stay mad at anyone for long, especially my best friend." She said.
Nya gave a grateful smile as the two girls approached each other and hugged as they stood there for a moment as they broke apart.
"I promise, Lydie, we will save Lloyd, but we need to find the Fangblades first before we can do anything else." Nya said.
"And preventing the very snake that torn my family apart from being released from it's prison." Lydie said with a serious tone. "If my dad was here, I'm sure he would feel getting payback on it for ruining his life and his family's lives as well." She added.
"From what Wu told us, even Garmadon hated that snake." Nya commented.
"Which also brings up a question that's been bugging me." Lydie said while placing a finger on her chin.
"Like what?" Nya asked.
"If my father was bitting by the Great Devourer as a boy, then how come my and my brother don't have the very venom in us if he has it before we were born?" Lydie asked the million dollar question.
Nya shrugs, "Who knows, but right now I think our boys might need your help right now." She said pointing to where Kai and the others ran off.
"Right, knowing them, they probably got into trouble." Lydie said as she walked up a bit. "Better call in my ride." She said.
"Call?" Nya asked before Lydie summons her powers and launch it into the sky as it spread out, which resulted in Umbra flying towards them as she flew on the roof as Nya looked amazed. "Okay, that's cool!" She cheered before slumping a bit. "Makes me wish I had my own element?"
"If you did, what would it be? The Ninja of Water?" Lydie joked as the two laugh. "Get it? Because Kai is a hot head and your the water girl?" She asked with a chuckle.
"Yeah, I can see that." Nya said through her chuckles. "I would really extinguish my brothers' flames of pride." She joked as they laugh again before they calmed down as Lydie hopped onto Midnight, "Good luck, Daddy's Girl."
"Thanks, Water Girl." Lydie replied back as she and Umbra took off to where the boys went.
The boys found the Falcon for miles through, scorching deserts to snowy mountains.
"I guess good fortune is really far away." Kai said as they continue to follow the falcon. They began to climb a mountain before they noticed Jay was resting against the side of the mountain.
"Keep going. I'll… I'll catch up later." Jay panted as they continued on.
They soon managed to walk across a fallen tree over a gap. Once they made it on the other side, they noticed Cole taking a breather on the tree.
"I'm good. Just...Just taking a breather." Cole told them. "Uh, I'll meet up with you shortly."
The others continue on their way as they follow the falcon to a large snowy area. Kai for a second to catch their breath as Zane went on.
"Good thing we're in peak physical condition." Kai said before they continue on. They soon entered a snowy forest as the falcon continued on. They soon stopped to catch their breath once again.
"Gosh, that bird just keeps going." Kai panted before he saw a sigh. "Hey, what do you make of this?" He asked Zane.
The sign said 'Beware of Treehorns', "I am not familiar with a Treehorn." Zane said, having never heard of of that creature.
"It's probably just some wild squirrels heh." Kai said before they heard the falcon squawking as it fly around in a circle. "Well, don't lose him. I'll wait for the other guys and Lydie to catch up." Je told Zane before the ice ninja continue to follow the falcon.
Zane followed the falcon deeper and deeper into the snowy forest.
"Where are we going, my mysterious friend." Zane asked the falcon. Zane continue to follow it before it started to spin in midair before falling to the ground.
Zane took off his hood and went over to the falcon, fearing that it was injured and or collapsed from exhaustion.
When he got close however, he saw sparks fly off it and realized that this was no ordinary falcon. "You're a robot?" He carefully picked up the robotic falcon and looked around. He then walked over to a tree and gently placed it down before hearing footsteps approaching.
He looked around as he can hear the footsteps getting closer. He took a defensive position as he stayed alert and then he turned and saw a large bronze robot with shoulder cannons spotted him.
The robot seem to be scanning the area as Zane quickly put on his hood when the robot scanned him. "Intruder. Intruder. Prepare to be terminated." the robot said as it fired its shoulder cannon at Zane. Zane quickly dodged each blast being fired at him as he had his shurikens out before he summoned his Spinjitzu vehicle. He then drove away from the robot before before turning around and launching off a hill as the robot continued to fire at him in the air. Once his vehicle vanished he threw one of his shurikens into the canon of the robot's before dodging an attack from it while in the air
Zane then saw it's motherboard on its back as he was coming down. Once he landed on the ground, one of the shurikens came back before he turned to face it. He then taunted the robot to come at him before before the robot took his shoulder cannon and aimed right at him. Zane then quickly climbed up a tree and its motherboard on its back again and knew he had to destroy it. "NINJA, GO!" He shouted as he flipped off the tree and did Spinjitzu create a pile of snow in front of the robot. He then put back when it fired at him a few feet away before he tuck and rolled to one side before charging at the robot. He used the pile of snow to jump over the robot and got on to its back.
Zane then took out his shuriken and started to destroy the motherboard on its back. As he damaged it, the robot started to malfunction and did a little silly dance before it saluted and fell to the ground. Zane then saw a strange symbol below the the destroyed motherboard. "The same symbol." He walked over to where he plays the falcon and picked it up see the same symbol on its back. He then noticed a large tree bigger than the others not far from where he is. "Where have you brought me, my falcon friend?" He asked as he walked towards the tree. He then noticed the same symbol on the tree except the symbol was in a oval shaped edged, a door of some kind. He then open the door and discover the tree was made of metal and was a home base of some kind. He didn't walk down the spiral staircase to the bottom as he took off his hood.
At the bottom he found some tools, a small stove, and blueprints that looked like they have not been touched in ages. He walked over to a workbench and found the blueprints for the falcon. "So this is your home, my mysterious friend?" Zane asked as he sat down the falcon on the table.
Zane then looked over at the blueprints of the falcon before he followed the instructions to repair it. Once he was done, the falcon startup and flew around the room before landing on Zane's hands. "You brought me here. But why?" He asked it before it flew around the room as he turned back to the workbench.
He then noticed another set of blueprints underneath the falcon's and pulled it out to see them, only to be shocked and horrified to the core at what he saw. "No! It can't be!" He denied as he dropped the blueprints, which were for a robot that frighteningly resembled him, as he gripped his chest, "No! NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOO!" He shouted as he fell to his knees.
Meanwhile, Wu was walking down a town street to a tea shop. As he was passing by an alleyway he saw Kruncha and Nuckal doing some Rock, Paper, Scissors before they saw him. "Gah! Retreat!" Nuckal cried as he and Kruncha ran away from the master.
Wu shook his head and entered the tea shop, once inside, he walked up to the front desk and ring the bell. "I would like to purchase some traveler's tea." Wu asked an old lady with a gray hair and wearing a rice hat.
"Never heard of it." The lady said before Wu place down some bits on the counter. The lady went into the back and came back with a tea pot and pick up a small jar on the top shelf filled with tea leaves. "You know, those who drink this never return." She said as she pour the leaves into the pot.
"Then I will not bother you again." Wu told her as he took the pot and walked out.
The other soon caught up with one another before they came to the tree base that Zane is in. "Zane?" Lydie called out as they walked down the steps.
"Wow, would you look at this place?" Jay asked before they saw Zane at the bottom. "Zane, what's wrong?" He asked as they all rushed down.
"Are you hurt?" Kai asked in concern.
"You okay?" Cole asked next.
"Zane, what's wrong?" Lydie asked in concern.
Zane gave a sigh as he looked back at the blueprints, which revealed ot be a blueprint of him as he look at it to find something as he put it down, lifting his shirt and grabbing a handle on his chest.
"Hey, what…?" Cole tried to asked as Zane opened his chest completely.
The four all screamed in horrified shock as they saw in place of organs and flesh was gears, cogs, wires and switches. "Zane, your a robot?!" Kai asked in shock.
"All this time, and I never knew." Zane honestly said.
"Uh, guess this explains why you're always acting so weird." Jay said, trying to lighten the mood. "Right? Heh-heh." He chuckled as this only made things awkward.
"Now all of a sudden your strange behavior makes sense." Lydie said before she realized something. "Wait, how could you never know about you being a robot, Zane?"
"I am still trying to figure that out." Zane said. "But I did learn that the reason I never had a sense of humor was because my funny switch wasn't on." He told them before he flipped a switch in his chest before it closed. Goofy music started to play as Zane was acting more funny and silly. "Hello, my baby~ Hello, my honey~ Hello, my ragtime gal~ Send me a kiss by wire~." When he finished, the four were surprise by this while Jay started laughing so hard. Zane then open his chest again and turned off his funny switch before he fell to his knees.
"Okay, that was pretty funny." Lydie honestly said. "But wow, never knew you had that side to you."
"Uh, but it only makes you special." Cole tried to assure. "You're still the same Zane. Just more, uh, gears." He said.
Kai then approach Zane, "No matter what you're made of, you're still our brother." He said.
"Really?" Zane asked as he looked up.
"Of course your are, you think just because you've got nuts and bolts instead of organs and guts your any less real than us?" Lydie asked as she helped Zane up, "Your not like other machines Zane, you've got a heart and soul, I can feel it. No lifeless machine can even compare to you." She said while pointing his chest with a smile.
"In fact, I bet it even makes you a better ninja." Cole added with a smile.
""Yeah, and how cool is that I can honestly say: "My brother is a Nindroid."" Jay said.
"A Nindroid?" Zane and the others asked in confusion.
"Cross ninja, with android and you get Nindroid." Jay explained.
"Fine whatever, but come on." Lydie said turning back to Zane, "The Serpentine still out there looking for the first Fangblade, and we need you." She told him.
"You'll have to go on without me." Zane told them. "I just don't feel right." The others then left him alone and walked out of the tree.
"We just have to give Zane time." Lydie said to them. "He's a bit shook up about learning this kind of discovery."
"Yeah, I don't know how I would feel if I found out I was secretly a robot." Kai commented.
"You mean, a Ninjdroid." Jay corrected.
"Yeah, whatever." Kai dismissed as they looked at the maze of trees.
"How the heck do we get out of this place?" Cole asked as they look around before they heard something growling. "What's that?" He asked in concern.
"Cute, tiny birds." Jay said nervously.
"I don't think so." Lydie said in concern as they all put on their masks before she noticed some of the tree moving. "Did you see that?!" She asked them.
"I saw them!" Cole answered.
"I don't see anything!" Jay said.
"I just saw it too!" Kai said before they a group of tree-like creatures surrounding them. "Treehorns!" He called out.
"You gotta be kidding me!" Lydie called out as they drew their weapons before she saw the malfunctioning robot Zane took out earlier. "Oh great, I think that thing was supposed to protect this place. Boys, it's up to us." She told her three friends.
Jay charged at one of the Treehorns and swung his Nunchucks at its legs to knock it over. His swung is Nunchucks again to knock another one over before or another use its legs to hold him.
Kai in charge at one of them with Sword in hand. "NINJA, G- Unh!" He was knocked back by one of them before you do Spinjitzu before another pushed him back with its leg.
Lydie was then using her powers as she pushed the Treehorns back. "Back you tree-legged fre-Guh!" She called out before a Treehorn kicked her from behind and soon more started attacking her, seeing she was the greatest threat at the moment, kicking and stomping on her everywhere.
Cole grabbed one by the leg and spun it around to knock a few others down. But before he could pull out his scythe, on trip him up and the others pinned them down with their legs. "There's just too many of them!" He shouted as they were getting overwhelmed by the Treehorns.
"Zane! HEEELP!" Lydie called out as she was stomped on over and over.
Meanwhile back in the tree base, Zane was looking over his blueprints of himself and found something of interest. "Uh, a memory switch?" He asked before he opened up his chest and thought that that switch was turned off. When you flipped it back on, a flood of memories came back to him.
(Flashback)
Inside his mind, his memories rewinded to the point where he first activated and he saw a man with a white coat, ice blue eyes, light brown hair, and wearing glasses. "Hello, Zane." The man said while putting on his glasses.
Zane looked down at his feet as he took his first steps with a little help from the man. His memories jump forward to when he kicked a ball and it hit him when it came back and knocked him over as the man rushed over to him to see if he was all right.
His memories then showed him and the man in front of a bowl and cooking utensils as he was teaching him how to cook. Zane put in some ingredients and spices into the bowl before tasting it, and it was good.
His memories went forward again and the man looked a bit older as his hair had turned a bit grayish. Zane was holding and petting a little robot as if it was a pet, that gave the man an idea to help with his loneliness. His memories jump forward to where he was building and finishing the falcon. When it activated, it flew up and around the room.
His memories jump forward again to where the falcon was resting on his hand and he was moving a toy car on the ground. The man's hair had turned white as he had an old camera set up as he called him over and the three took a picture together.
His memory is jump forward to where he's sitting on a bed and Zane is holding a small butterfly. "You were built to protect those who cannot protect themselves." He told Zane as he let the small butterfly go.
His memories went forward again and this time the man was very old and weak, lying on the bed as Zane was concerned for him. "You were always the son I never had." He told him in a weak voice. It's time you begin your next stage in life. And the only reason I'm about to do this it's because I love you." He told him as he took off his glasses and gave a weak smile and Zane gave one back.
Zane's chest opened up as he weakly rose up and turned off his memory switch which made Zane gave a blank look as his glasses fell to the floor. When his chest closed and he turned around, Zane found himself in unfamiliar place and doesn't remember anything not even his robotic nature.
(End of Flashback)
In present day, Zane has his eyes closed as a single tear ran down his cheek at his memory of his father and how he cared for him. He then notices a picture frame on the desk covered in the cloth and when he removed it, it was a picture of him, his father, and the falcon together. The falcon then flew down and rests on his hoof as Zane smiled as he is old friend again. He then meet his way up the stairs to join the rest of his friends.
"Hey, guys! Wait up!" Zane called out. When he came out of the tree, he find his friends being beaten to a pulp by the Treehorns, so he puts on his hood and charge at them. "Leave my friends alone! NINJA, GO!" He did Spinjitzu and knocked a few of the Treehorns back. He then threw his shurikens at a couple of them before he jumped and hit one in the face. The others got up and sees Zane able to hold his own against them as he knocked a few of them down.
"Zane?" Lydie asked in surprise as she and the boys stood up.
"What's gotten into Zane?" Cole asked.
"I don't know, but I like it." Kai said as each ninja joined each other back-to-back.
"NINJA, GO!" All five ninjas shouted before they did Spinjitzu and knocked a few of the Treehorns down. Cole then slammed his scythe down to cause a quake and make the Treehorns lose their balance. They all work together to knock them down or pick each other up when they were knocked back.
As Jay spun around his nunchucks, he noticed they stopped and move out of the way for something. "Are they re-grouping?" He asked before they saw a bigger Treehorn with nine red eyes. "Who's that?"
"Their queen." Zane said with a glare as the queen roared as he stepped up. "You will not hurt my friends!" He shouted as he took out his Shurikens. "There is nothing that will hold me back!" His Shurikens glowed as his eyes started to glow bright. "I know who I am!" Then a beam of light shot up into the sky as his whole body begin to glow and lifted up in the air.
"It's happening ot Zane like it did to Lydie." Kai said in surprise.
"I've never seen a robot do that." Jay commenced.
"You mean, Nindroid." Cole corrected.
"Yeah, whatever." Jay repeated still in awe as the queen of the treehorns roared at him,
"Zane's unlocked his True Potential, just like I did." Lydie said in awed.
Zane then threw his Shurikens around the queen before he did Spinjitzu around her. His Spinjitzu was faster than before with his true potential unlocked. He soon floated back up in the air and caught his shurikens before firing a beam of ice at the queen, freezing her solid. With their queen defeated, the rest of the Treehorns ran away as Zane fell to the ground when glow stopped. His friends ran over to him just when he was getting up.
"What happened?" Zane asked.
"That was awesome!" Jay cheered.
"You should've seen yourself." Kai said excitedly as he place a hand on Zane's shoulder.
"Was I like that when I unlock mine?" Lydie asked wondering. "Because I've never seen anything like it when I unlocked mine!" She pointed out excitedly.
"Yes, it was exactly like that." Cole answered cheerfully.
"This must be what Sensei meant about unlocking our hearts." Zane said as he figured it out. "I remember now. I remember everything. I remember my father and how she cared for me. I remember where I came from. And I feel stronger for knowing."
"I'm so jealous. Lydie and now Zane's powers are so cool." Cole said.
"We have our very own Nindroid and two Elemental Ninja!" Jay exclaimed as they all cheered with excitement.
"Watch out, Pythor. We're coming to get you." Zane said determinedly.
Back in the Constrictai tomb, Pythor is still inspecting the stone and trying to figure out where the map is. But then Generals were getting impatient and began to question if Pythor even knew what he was doing, "Where are the four Fangblades?" Fangtom asked.
"What if there isss no map?" Acidicus question.
"Or what if thessse Fangbladesss don't even exissst?" Skaildor questioned.
"Do you even know for certain if they are real?" Skales demanded.
"I know, I know!" Pythor shouted in frustration, "But I don't know where to look!" He shouted.
"Then I'm taking my ssstaff back!" Skales said as he picked up his staff.
"Me too!" Fangtom agreed, taking his own staff as well.
"Me three!" Acidicus said as he did the same.
"Me four." Skaildor said as he picked up his and hit Acidicus by accident.
"Watch it Rock for brainsss!" Acidicus exclaimed as started hitting Skalidor on the head with his staff.
"You watch it, Slime-breath!" Skalidor insulted as he knocked his and Acidicus's staffs away and the two started slap fighting.
Burmesia, watching this, sighed in disbelief before she noticed the staffs leaking there venom, "Wait. Excussse me, sssirsss." She said pushing past the two generals and then saw the venom mixing together, "That's it." she said in realization as she picked up the two staffs.
"What's it, young Niece? Pythor asked as Burmesia took his, Skales and Fangtom's staffs.
"The Map of Fangsss." Burmesia answered as she place each staff on top of the rock. "The anssswer'sss been in your handsss thisss whole time. When the five fangsss unite asss one, the path towards the Devourer hasss begun." The venom from each staff started to leak out on the rock as she placed a piece of paper underneath them. "It'sss not ssspeaking of the five tribesss, it'sss the antivenom in the five ssstaffsss!" She told them as the venoms creating a picture of Ninjago, showing them four red fang shaped emblems in four different locations.
Pythor beamed at the map as he pulled it out for all to see, "Behold, the locationsss of the four sssilver Fangbladesss!" Every Serpentine cheered as now they have the locations for the four keys to unleash the Great Devourer. "Sssoon, The Great Devourer will be unleashed and Ninjago will be oursss!" He announced before looking at Burmesia. "Very clever, my young niece."
"Well, I try my bessst for my tribe." Burmesia said proudly. "If we're gonna avenge my father and fulfill hisss dream, I have to do my part."
"And you have done ssso, grandly." Pythor said with a smile, "Jussst like your father." He said as Burmesia gave a small smile at that as the Serpentine kept cheering.
On top of a mountain, Sensei Wu meditates in front of the fire with the teapot.
Once the teapot is ready, he picked up the teapot and pour the tea around the fire. Once he was done, the flames turn blue before a portal opened up in front of him. Wu picked up his staff and the case the katana in it before he walked into the portal before it closed behind him.
Wu traveled through the portal before it opened on a different end and a completely different place. Once the made it through, he find themselves in a very dark place. A place unknown and filled with darkness.
"Hello, brother." A familiar voice called out to him as Wu sees a figure in a black cloak standing a few feet away from him. He know who this figure, he is the Lord of Darkness, the bringer of chaos and his own brother and Lloyd and Lydie's father: Lord Garmadon. "What took you so long?" He asked as his evil laugh echoed throughout the area as lightning crashed and thunder rumbled.
